I pray that every thing is going great their for you. It has been gloomy out today. Please pray for LaKota's Grandma, my mom, she was diagnosed with a tumor on her lung,and the doctor said it looks like cancer. I did set up a web page for her on the caring bridge, it is.....shirleysizer

When Maddie had h/a when laying down, our neurosurgeon thought it was an intermittant intercranial pressure problem. Joey did have a lumbar puncture to check pressure tho didn't he? I'm so glad Joey's appt went well and that his high numbers aren't anything to be worried about,i'm sure anything out of the ordinary or what they expect is worrysome however.

I'm so worried about Jason,i hope that it's something they can easily put right for him and soon,i can imagine constant nosebleeds are causing him to feel drained as well.

I just popped in to see what this Warriors stuff was all about. I saw it in some mail that Theresa sent to a group I belong to. My oldest son also had cancer. We found out when he was 5 and a half. His was brain cancer. After his surgery and radiation treatments, (they were called "cobalt treatments" wayyyyyy back then) he lived for another 25 years and it wasn't the cancer that finally took him home to his Maker. So, we know it can be beat.... Take care and stay well! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family......

Phew it's been a LONG weekend .. yesterday we went to a birthday party with my two little ones.It was at a pumpkin patch and so they got a hayride,to feed donkeys and cows and eat way to much hehehe.Then we went and saw our friends new baby boy.
Today we finished getting Taylor's room all nice and then we took the kids trick or treating for a little while,Taylor was an angel and Ryan was an elephant,they had fun.

I found this poem on another web page, thought I would share it with you.

WHY US

Most women become a mother by accident, some by choice, a few by habit.
Did you ever wonder how mother of children with cancer are chosen?
Somehow, I visualize God hovering over the earth selecting his instruments for propagtion with great care and deliberation. As He observes, He instructs his angels to make notes in a giant ledger...
"Armstrong, Beth, son, patron saint Matthew"
"Forest,Marjorie, daugher, patron saint Cecilia"
"Rutledge, Carrie,twins, patron saint Gerard. He's used to profanity"
Finally, he passes a name to an angel and says, "Give her a child with cancer."
The angel is curious. "Why this one God? Shes's so happy."
"Exactly, similed God. "Could I give a child with cancer a mother who does not know laughter? That would be cruel."
"But does she have patience?" asks the angel.
"I don't want her to have too much patience or she will drown in a sea of self pity and despair. Once the shock and resentment wears off, she will handle it."
"I watched her today," said God. "She has that feeling of self-independence that is so rare and necessary in a mother. You see, the child I'm going give to her has its own world. She has to make it live in her world and that's not going to be easy."
"But Lord, I don't think she even believes in you," said the angel.
"No matter. I can fix that. This one is perfect, she has just enough selfishness."
The angel gasps, "Selfishness? Is that a virtue?"
God nods. "If she can't seperate herself from the child occasionally, she'll never survive.
Yes, here is a woman I will bless with a child less than perfect. She doesn't realize it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never take anything her child does for granted. She will never consider a step ordinary."
"I will permit her to see clearly the things I see...ignorance, cruelty, prejudice...and allow her to rise above them."
"And what about her patron saint?" asks the angel, his pen poised in mid-air.
God smiles and says "A mirror will suffice."

WOW - you must be awfully proud of your guys! :-) My Alex (10) did that too when Melanie lost her hair. I have a cute picture of the two of them bald.

Melanie just left for camp today - and she's in the middle of steroids. Camp better watch out! :-) I sure hope Joey has a great time at camp - can't wait to hear about it when he gets back!!!

Hi Joey, My daughter Ali was diagnosed just a week before you were! You will end treatment on her birthday! She will end treatment the week before you! And when she shaved her head so did her brother, her dad and me! If you look at Ali's photos you will see our bald Xmas card photo! Your pictures with your brothers is great!- Ali also gets terrible back spasms from vincristine and steroids- she is also hoping she will feel good enough to go to camp.
