Good Morning!

The summer is still going right for Tayden. He's staying up late and sleeping late. He's into playing "Over The Hedge" on his playstation 2.

He gets a lab this week so we will update.

Not much plans for the week, just staying home. On Friday we will travel out to Rapid City to see my sisters boyfriend graduate. Not much then spending the weekend their doing little things here and there.

Wednesday, June 7, 2006 9:19 AM CDT

Tayden is doing great his medicine is down to every other day, he's out of school and will be a first grader this coming fall.

With the summer here he loves to stay up late and sleep until he wants to get up.

He'll be six on July 6th, 2006
Golden Year

He's been on his medicine since April 2003, so going to everyother day is awesome. I pray for the day he'll be off it.

I haven't been on the net and have done a poor job of keeping his page updated but I hope to change and keep it updated on at least a weekly basis.

Even though I haven't been around to pages I have been thinking about all of you and pray that everything will be alright.

Much Love,
Tayden & Family

To hear the nurse say that's what Taydens platelets were was amazing......

That's the highest they have been since this whole journey.

Three year's on March 6th, 2006

His counts seem to be stable and they have lowered his cyclosporin level again. Soon he maybe off it. YES!

He's been taking medicine for almost three years and I'm sure he will be excited the day he takes no more.

Thanks and Much Love to you all......

Tayden and Family

Hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day.

Thanks Tammy for pointing out to me that it has been ages before my last update.

Tayden has been doing good, he is just getting over broncitis. He had it for over a week, it was alot of coughing.

Still going to school, he doesn't really like it because he knows the basic stuff for kindergarten I think he's looking for a challenge.

Just gor a playstation 2 so that has most of his time for right now.

I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping.

Welcome back again, man time passes by so quickly. I felt bad when I had someone say gee your site hasn't been updated since Sept. Once again I apologize, and hope you still stop by to say hi.

Tayden is doing good in school, learning how to write words, read words it's so amazing.

Two weeks ago we dashed to Sioux Falls for a shot to help his immune system against Chicken Pox. There was several cases of chicken pox at school so we thought we could catch it in time. Little to be known it was to late.

As of Friday he has chicken pox, it fell on the same day that he was gonna get his Christmas pics done. School pictures should be coming back sometime soon, I will try and get one posted.

It's been hard getting him to rest, but he at least stays on the couch for awhile. Until his papa gets him all riled up.

Wishing you all a early "Happy Thanksgiving" from our house to yours.

When I'm through posting this I'm going to check on other caring bridge families. And actually leave them a little note to say hi.

Thank-You for stopping and the continued support.

Monday, September 19, 2005

Hey there,

Tayden is doing well in school, he seems to be adjusting just fine. I'm very proud of him.

He lost his first tooth, guess what the "Tooth Fairy" left him two coins so when he woke-up to find them he said gee I only wanted one coin. (lol)

Next week theres no school for them so teachers can attend a workshop. Give him some time to relax a little more.

The end of the month he will be attending the Northern Bull Riding in Sioux Falls. Thanks to Make-A-Wish for keeping the families involved even after the wish was granted.

Tayden's counts are good his platelets are a little low so please keep that thought in your prayers. Thanks

Hope you have a good week.

Love,
Tayden & Family

Yeah the computer is up and running......

It's been awhile and thank-you very much for those who are still visiting.

It's summer and guess what Tayden is now a head start graduate. He's growing so fast.

His counts are 11. HGB 5. WBC 100 thousand Platelets.
They are about the same as last month. We still make a trip once a month to see his Doctor in Sioux Falls.

Went and seen a ENT doctor today and if his counts are looking good he will have his tonsils out July 11th, 2005.

It's pretty hot today, supposed to be severe weather tonight.

Take Care and I'am making it a point to visit other pages.

God Bless,
Tayden & Family

Monday, May 2, 2005

Good afternoon,
I have read on another page about Tayler who has earned her wings and has returned to the spirit world. I'd like to let that family know that we are thinking of them. She was almost the same age as Tayden, makes you realize just how precious life is.

Tayden is doing good, there was no school today. Wednesday is there field trip to the park & they will have a cook-out.

His platelets were 109 thousand *Go cells Go*

Headstart Graduation is May 20th, anyone interested in sending a card to Tayden please email me and I'll get you the info.

Hope you have a great week.

Love & Prayers,
Tayden & Family

Wednesday, April 27, 2005

Thanks for stopping in to check on Tayden, he has been doing really well. This month Tayden has made it to school everyday (yes) out of the whole school year this will be his full month no sick days. Thats just exciting he's been waiting cause if you have perfect attendance for that month you can pick from the tresaure chest so yeah its great news on the school report.

He enjoys having friends coming over to play, next week is there classroom field trip to Pierre they are going to the park and will also have a cook-out.

*Headstart Graduation*
*May 20th, 2005*
Tayden will be one of the many graduating from headstart, it's a beginning for him.

I have visited numerous caringbridge pages, just want you to know that your all in our thoughts and prayers.

Other than that we've just been hanging out at home, so til' next time thanks for stopping and come again.

Love & Prayer's,
Tayden & Family

Monday, April 4, 2005

Our sympathy goes out to *T. Schiavo Family & for The Pope* they have traveled back to the spirit world where there is no more pain & suffering.

Hello again,
I can't believe how time passes you think you just updated only to see that its been awhile. I appericate you for stopping by Taydens page.

He got his picture taken with the Governor for our state *cool* him and his papa were also in the picture.

Today for school it was "Doughnuts for Dads" so all the dads, grandpas, uncles or anyother special male person in their life could come have a doughnut with their child. *Awesome*

Not much else going on he's been at school, and just hanging out at home. Him and Grandma went to the movie the other night "Pacfier".

He goes for labs this week, I'm always excited to see what they are. I'm praying they will keep going up.

He graduates from *Headstart* next month. I'm so proud of him I'am speechless. And he will be turning 5 in three months my how he is growing.

I hope all of you are doing good and look forward to hearing from you again.

Love,
Tayden & Family

For anyone who is new to this page my son was diagnosed at the age of 2 1/2 years old with Severe aplastic anemia. He is currently taking medicine twice a day and continues to give 110ave yet to hear the words remission, but prayers are strong and we are just taking it one day at a time.

Thursday, March 17, 2005

*Happy St. Patrick's Day*

This week Tayden has stayed home from school, he had a cough/cold, low WBC so I thought he could use this time to recoup at home. He goes back to Sioux Falls on Monday. A few people have asked me why he looks pale, part of that has to do with the anemia part.

Anyone else out there have problems with their childs tonsils? For the past few months Tayd's have been pretty big. I put his name on the list to see an ENT, if they were to refer to having them out he'd have to wait anyway cause his counts are kinda low but they are reasonable.

This week his platelets were 55 thousand (prayers are strong).

Thanks for your continued prayers & support.

Love,
Tayden & Family

******MARCH 6TH, 2005******
~~~~~~2 Year's today~~~~~~
******MARCH 6TH, 2005******
Today marks two years since are departure to the hospital and finding out that Tayden has Severe aplastic anemia. I have learned to not take life for granted cause you just never know whats gonna happen. To live life to its fullest everyday.
This weekend went good, we went bowling on Friday & Saturday in a tournament. So I'd like to thank my aunt & mom for keeping Tayden while I went. You can tell Tayden's platelets are low cause he has quite a few bruises every where, he goes back for a lab on Tuesday here.
His platelets wer 36 thousand on Thursday, I just pray that they have went up and not down.
He didn't go to school at all last week, his teacher brought him up a sign they made for him it says miss you hope your feeling better and they all signed it from his class. That was very thoughtful.
Hope you all had a good weekend, take care.
Love & Friendship,
Tayden & Family
Hello to all who are still visiting our page.
His Dr. wanted to seem him again yesterday so we went there she said all the tests so far look good. They drew labs and would call me later with the results.
They called today said his platelets had dropped some more they are 38 thousand (WOW) whats going on I wonder. So labs next week then we will probaly go see the Dr again some time next week.
He has a cold on top of all this, so he has not been in school. Thanks LB Headstart for understanding and giving him a chance to be in school. He graduates this May from headstart.
I hope your all having a great week and we will keep you in our prayers.
Love,
Tayden & Family
Friday, February 25, 2005
Hello,
I know it's been a long time and I need to stay caught up here.
Tuesday I took Tayden to the clinic for his two week lab update and only to find out that his platelets had dropped, they told me to bring him back in afternoon and then redo the lab mabye somehow there might of been a lab error.
Well there was no error and his platelets were 69 thousand, they called his doctor in Sioux Falls and she said she would like him to go up there to have a bone marrow biopsy that was done yesterday along with a lumbar puncture. The prelimanry screening showed nothing to be alarmed about. The other tests would be back next week, he goes back up there for a dr. visit tuesday.
It was hard to watch them put him to sleep with medicine rather than falling asleep on his own. At least he didnt have to feel the needles and stuff.
So he's just taking it easy today, thanks for stopping.
Love & Prayers,
Tayden & Family
Hello there how are you doing?
Brrrrrr.......
It's pretty cold outside right now but hey we don't have any snow yet (knock on wood).
We had a good weekend, we got to see Betsy and her mom. We also went to the movie with em' and Tayden checked out "Rudolph The Movie" and was quite disappointed to learn that it had to go back.
School has been good for him, he can write his name, and can write other letters as well. If he wants to write all he does is ask how and what comes next. Amazing how fast they grow up.
We will be out of town from the 15th-19th, be out enjoying the LNI weekend. I pray all who are traveling to the LNI make it there safe and have a great time and return home safely as well.
Hope you all have a lovely week, much love to you all.
~Greetings~
Hope all is well for you and your family. Not much happening here Tayden has been going to school.
His Doctor visit went well, they did a chest x-ray just to make sure that there wasn't anything hiding that they couldn't hear. Another test to see if they could point out what's making him cough so much at night time.
Counts are great
WBC 4.6
HGB 11.4
Platelets 254 thousand.
......Go Cells Go......
Hope you had a great weekend.
Love,
Tayden & Family
Saturday, November 27, 2004
Hello there, hope you all had a "Happy Thanksgiving"
Let's see here not much going on, Thanksgiving break from school started for Tayden last Wednesday after breakfast. Monday he has a appointment in Sioux Falls.
I called the answering service for S.V Clinic today because he just hasn't been feeling all that well. I talked to Dr. Tancabelic told her whats been going on and she said let em' know if things don't change. I'm pretty excited to see what his counts will be.
There was a few flakes on the ground this morning nothing major, but it is sure cold out there.
Hope you are having a great weekend, so far.
Talk to you later.
Much Love,
Tayden & Fmaily
P.S
Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner already......
Tuesday, November 9, 2004
Hello again to all,
Tayden has been doing well, he's back at school, he was a zebra for Halloween. Friday night he woke up in the middle of the night with Croup. That was pretty scary he said he couldn't breathe.
I need to get around to all the pages again and let you all know that you have been in our thoughts. And I will do my very best to get around and let you know how we are.
Hope you all have been great, I look forward to hearing from you.
How are you doing today?
We had a great time this weekend, my grandparents from Ohio made it down and so did our good ol' buddy Betsy. My grandparents arrived with lots of books for Tayden so he enjoyed reading and reading some more.
We enjoyed the Pow-Wow this weekend as well, from Friday til' Sunday oh yeah and the rodeo.
Being from South Dakota you know who Tom Daschle & Tim Johnson are right. Well they took time from there busy schedule to make the Pow-Wow as well which was great.
We spent Saturday with Betsy at the rodeo and at the Pow-Wow and then she went back to Pierre. Thanks Betsy for coming down.
To my Grandparents Thanks for coming and sharing some time with us, we love you and hope you had a safe travel home.
Once again with much love thanks for coming to check on Tayden.
Hope your having a lovely day......
How are you today?
All is well here, Tayden is doing really great, he enjoys his bikes still (round & round the kitchen table). That's the first thing he does when he gets up he gets right on his bike.
This weekend we are looking forward to spending some time with Betsy & her mom, and my grandparents from Ohio too. I hope they all have a safe travel to and from our house.
This weekend we are getting together to enjoy the annual pow-wow & rodeo. We will probaly spend more time at the rodeo then anything, Tayden likes to watch em'.
Hope your having a wonderful day, with much love thanks for stopping.
Hope you have a lovely day......
Monday, August 2, 2004
Tayden is doing great, his labs this last time were great. They were HGB 10.6 WBC 4.6 & Platelets 207. She didn't want to wean him because one of his labs showed that he had a virus of some sort.
That came about because that weekend before we went he was throwing up no fever or nothing else. Kept an eye on him but it went away.
He hangs out at Paulines playing with her dogs. He still rides his two bikes in the house round & around the kitchen table.
I asked him if he wanted to try my new shampoo he looked at me "no thanks mabye some other day". The things he says cracks me up. He's growing up so fast.
I hope you have a lovely day......
Thursday, July 22, 2004
How are you doing today?
Well I know my updates are slow, but thanks for bearing with me. I'm not sure what happened when I first started I updated and signed guestbooks now I'm on here now and then. This isn't an excuse but our computer is so SLOW it takes minutes to load a page and sometimes it just freezes.
Tayden goes to see his Doctor today, I will post the labs when I get them. I'm always excited to see what they are going to be.
The summer has been great and the last few days have been HOT, today its cool and I'm glad at least we won't be battling the heat today on the road.
Tayden likes to ride his bike still, be outside, and he can't wait for school he wanted to go so bad the other day, I said there's no one there yes there is he said.
I hope you have a lovely day......
Much love to you and your family, thanks for coming to check on Tayden, and for leaving wonderful message's.
******Happy 4th of July******
~Happy 4th of July~Happy 4th of July~
Hope you have a safe & fun 4th of July.
Well let's see on Saturday afternoon I noticed something had bitten Tayden on his leg. It was red around it and looked like it had a pin point opening so Monday I took him to the clinic. They drew labs and gave him an anribotic just in case it gets infected.
I'm so excited for his birthday this will be his first time having a pinata' (however you spell it). Stacey is out of town and is having fun shopping, she's bringing some great things back for birthday. Thanks Stacey we love you very much.
My uncle is at home with a few trips back to Sioux Falls, Thanks for your prayers.
Tayden is wearing his training wheels down, but its a site to see when he goes round and round the kitchen table. Tayden likes to answer me with "Yes Mother", sounds crazy.
The labs were WBC 5.7, HGB 10.6 and Platelets were 202.
The Zebra background is his birthday one, for he wanted Zebra's for his theme but couldn't find any so he gladly understood and changed it to Spongebob.
With Much Love Thanks for coming to check on Tayden and for leaving him wonderful message's.
Love, Friendship & Prayer's,
Tayden & Family
Hope your having a lovely day......
Wednesday, June 23, 2004
How are you today?
So Dad's how was your Father's Day? I hope it all worked out and you had a wonderful day.
Not much going on here hanging out at home and at my aunts house. Tayden likes it ar her house cause she has a wide open yard with dogs to play with plus she got him a pool adventure deal.
He goes with me over to answer phones for two hours, so I'm working only two hours a day but it's a start.
Planning do "Spongebob" for the Birthday Theme, he wanted "Zebras" but no luck finding any decorations for that theme. Gonna do a cook-out at a park close by and invite family & friends.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
With Much Love thanks for coming to check on Tayden, and for leaving wonderful message's.
Love,
Tayden & Family
Time sure flys by doesn't it, seems like you just update but looking at the date only to realize it's been a good week or so.
Tayden is doing great, enjoying the time in his pool, although I got in it and it was freezing. I said are you sure your not cold he said no. Me and Stacey even added hot water to the pool and it was still cold.
Just been hanging out at home, enjoying the day.
5-25-04:
Labs were WBC 5.6 HGB 9.9 and Platelets 233
6-10-04:
Labs were WBC 5.2 HGB 10.1 and Platelets 193 (Go Cells Go)
Hope you all have a lovely week.
Monday, June 7, 2004
How are you today?
Tayden is doing really well, he enjoys being outside. Oh yeah and sleeping til' noon or until he wants to wake-up. He's just been riding his bike, watching cartoons, getting wet with the water hose, playing with puppies (aunt's house), these are some of the things he likes to do.
He's gonna be four already......
I just can't believe how fast he is growing up, from a distance our good ol' buddy Betsy didn't even recognize him.
The weather has been crazy some days are cloudy & rainy some are hot as can be. It will be a toughy trying to keep Tayden out of the sun.
Thanks Kim for the background and posting the picture's for me. The pictures in the photo album are Scooby, Shaggy in the Mystery Machine, the next is Shamu at the "Shamu Stadium", and a dolphin. (All from Orlando)
Tayden goes for his monthly check-up with his Doctor on Thursday. Will update as soon as I get them.
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
With much love thanks for checking on Tayden.
Love & Friendship,
Tayden & Family
Monday, May 31, 2004
So how have you been doing?
Lets see Tayden is doing really great, he enjoys being able to sleep til' noon or until he wants to get up. He loves riding his bike outside and going fast, his training wheels are still on and sometimes I think he's gonna tip over.
Can you believe it's June already!!!!
~WOW~ next month Tayden will be four......
We enjoyed pizza with Betsy and her mom the other night that was cool to hang out with them they are so nice.
Tayden had labs done last week they are HGB was 9.8 WBC was 3.5 Platelets were 233 thousand. *Go Cells Go*
He still takes his medicine's twice a day, with a fight.
His new game is "Don't Spill the Beans".
He is also into having you do one thing or he'll whine if you don't do it the way he wants. And worst of all he also has this saying that I don't know how to get him to quit using it. If you do something he don't like or whatever the situation is he says "I don't like you or I hate you" where did he hear stuff like that ~~t.v.~~
I just found out that my good friend from high school is gonna have a baby, I pray all goes well for her.
My uncle is out of the hospital and will be coming home next week. Thanks for all the prayers.
The weather has been cloudy, rainy and windy.
With much love thank-you for checking on Tayden, and for leaving wonderful message's.
I hope you all have a great week......
Hello it's been a whole week since updating I apologize....
You never stop coming by though and I'm grateful so once again with much love Thanks for stopping in and for leaving wonderful messages.
Okay so Achievement Day was a great little program for the first year students. They were each awarded with a first year and a classroom award as well.
******Tayden was awarded with the "Kindness Award"******
Tayden got mail last week from the "South Dakota Rodeo Association" saying that he could attend any rodeo in S.D free. They send them to the Make-A-Wish Families. (Thanks SDRA)
I went to a workshop dealy this weekend spent the weekend in The Oaks hotel I think its called where do I begin. I took Tayden with me and while I went in a meeting my mom kept him company or he kept her busy (lol).
We really didn't spend to much in our room, we were either in my moms room or just roaming. So it's time for bed me and Tayden walk back to our room and I sit on the bed it was hard as a rock or you could feel the box spring it was terrible. I went and said mom sit on our bed once and walked back to her room. I called down to the front desk and said is there anyway we can switch rooms our beds are hard and uncomfortable. Lady says no we are full, okay I said well this is not worth !60. (2 nights) theres nothing I can do she said. I hung up thinking what kind of place is this. Called her back asked for extra blankets yeah if theres any I'll send them up. Besides packing on blankets and feeling no difference finally got to sleep only to be awaken by loud drinking people they were screaming in the halls being just as loud as can be called the lady said send somebody up. The noise lasted at least 1/2 hour or so. Terrible hotel for that price, great meetings though.
Oh yeah me and my mom bought raffle tickets for a t.v and dvd player by some odd chance out of 300 and some people we won it.
**Thanks for the prayers for my uncle, who is currently in the hospital**
I love staying at home with Tayden but I'd like to look for work not sure where since our community is small. It's a thought in progress......
I hope you all have a wonderful week and I'll do my best to stop by your page. By the way I signed on and couldn't believe the number of vistors I saw we reached digits I never thought possible THANK-YOU.
Wednesday is Achievement Day for the first year students, they will do a short program for them and then send them home until next year. They get an awatd for the first year and a classroom award.
Wow another week gone by, school is done this coming Wednesday. Had a pretty calm week just going to school and hanging out at home. Friday is Track Day for the headstart, its starts at 10:15 a.m and there are three events. You can tell Taydens energy isn't like the other kids he gets tired easy, but I'm letting him do the events so that he knows he can do it, and plus I just want to encourage him so mabye by doing this helps him not to be scared to try at least. I got my camera ready and I'll take pictures well I'm cheering him on, and I'll ask lovely Kim if she can post them for me again.
WIth much love thank-you for coming to check on Tayden, and for the wonderful message's.
Sunday, May 2, 2004 Hope you having a great day......
Hey there isn't it crazy when you think you just updated and a whole week almost went by to see that you didn't.
I would like to thank-you for coming to check on Tayden and for leaving wonderful message's.
In school last week they practiced for their track day which will by on May 7th. There was a carnival in town and you wouldn't believe that it only had 5 rides with some added games and a food stand.
I took Tayden there Friday at about 8pm and the wind made it chilly but he wanted to go, we rode the ferris wheel, the tilt a whirl, he rode a little airplane deal, and a boat thing that went kinda fast. At about 9:45 I said lets go check on Grandma at the casino, he threw a fit because we were leaving I told him we would go get some $ because for tickets it was $10 for 20 tickets and the rides took 4.
Last night we went with my sister to her prom. Took pictures of her and her date. Went to eat at McDonald's and already being kinda late we waited for her and then came home.
Health wise Tayden is doing great (knock on wood), still taking medicine twice a day (4 and 5 on weekends), goes to see his Doctor once a month.
Picking up on behavior at school......
I have noticed that Tayden will do things that other kids are doing at school there this child that was putting his food on the floor and stepping on it well guess who did it next. First it was only at school now at home or when we go somewhere he trys to whine if I don't get him something or if I try to explain whatever it maybe.
Hope you have a great week and again with much love thanks for stopping.
Good Afternoon! How are you today?
Well let's catch up here, today was the field trip day for Taydens classroom. They left after eating breakfast this morning, they played at the park for awhile and then went to McDonald's. All together there are 15 in his class, there were some parents that could not go on the trip.
The temp. outside says 88 it feels that hot out to. The sun is brighter than ever out there.
There are snakes, mosquito's out already oh yeah don't forget ticks.
Not much else going on, there's not to much school left May 12th is the final day. They have track day coming up soon also.
Well with his main medicine he's not supposed to be in the sun so long, and with them going outside everyday at school he has a sun rash or whatever you want to call it. So we was in all weekend mostly and it looks better they just told me to keep an eye on it.
Once again with much love thank-you for coming to check on Tayden and for leaving wonderful message's.
Hope you have a wonderful week.
Good Morning, how are you today?
We went to the circus yesterday it was exciting for Tayden he went on the elephants and the ponies. Thanks Desi for riding the elephant with him. They even had alligators, a snapping turtle, and a python. He was so excited to go he even wore his lion shirt, are there even lions in the circus anymore?
Tayden is still working on good attendance since he has been back at school, with the exception on the day he goes to see his Doctor.
Looks pretty sunny out today, the other day we got some rain but that didn't last to long.
Well today is Wednesday already......
Thanks for the patience in me signing books, sometimes I get around and sometimes not but thank-you very much for coming to check on Tayden and for leaving wonderful messages.
Time to go get Tayden ready for school, hope the rest of your week goes well.
Much Love and respect,
Tayden & Family
**Spring ahead, don't forget to move your clocks one hour ahead**
How are you today?
I hope your weekend is going good so far. Today we sat around at home and then went to Pierre, so Tayden could see the Easter Bunny at the mall. We called Betsy and pulled her from her work for a couple hours. Tayden got some new sandals, and some toys.
There was no school on Friday due to lack of workers so they did breakfast and went home. Afterwards we drove to town about 1/2 hour away, played in the park, ate and came home.
We will be going to Sioux Falls on Monday to spend the night for my mom has a workshop on Tuesday and Tayden also has his check-up with his Doctor oh yeah who could forget labs too. I think we will be going Chuckie Cheese and I'am going to try and squeeze in a movie, Scooby-Doo 2 is showing now.
We rented 'Radio' has anyone watched it, wow what a movie.
Again with much love thank you for coming to check on Tayden and for leaving wonderful message's.
Hope you have a wonderful week, I'll post labs as soon as I get em'.
You wouldn't believe that today I have been taking my medicine for a year already and guess what I'm not done yet. I take my medicine's twice a day of course I put up a fight with my mom but hey with a taste like that you would too......Tayden
~Son~You are the greatest.
April 2nd,
Last year Tayden did the immunosuppressive drug therapy where he stayed in ICU for 13 day's, to make that decision was a very emotional time for me and our whole family. The drugs that were gonna be given to him had the upmost scary side effects, it was just a tough time. As you see he responded great to it, and yes prayer's are strong.
Until next time hope your having a great day.
Let's see we had a good weekend, went to the mall the line to see "Tommy & Chuckie" was crazy. My cousin was in line for about half and hour when we got there so we squeezed in by her, the total time of her standing in line to seet them was a little over an hour. When we first got there our good ol' buddy Betsy was waiting for us, afterwatds we went and ate with her. Checked out K-Mart and Wal-Mart with her, oh yeah it rained all day.
How are you today?
Who else is getting rain? I heard it start sometime in the middle of the night and it's just coming down. It looks like it will be grey all day out today.
School went good this week, Wednesday with the lovely weather Tayden was outside most of the day they played outside at school and when we came home he wanted to be outside. I reminded him he needed to come in rest a bit and get a snack, he didn't like that idea. A few of his classmate's live close by so they walk over to visit Tayden. That evening he was so played out he couldn't get comfortable he cried complained about his leg's, he finally fell asleep about 7pm.
So after going through that with him being so tired out but still wanting to go I remind him to rest a little bit on Thursday because that day was just as nice. Nope same thing outside at school, outside at home with his friends. Come in and about 5pm he's the exact same way as before, crying and uncomfortable. Tried to get him to take a warm bath but he wouldn't then he fell asleep.
"Wow it's really raining outside"
We were supposed to go to Pierre to meet up with Betsy and go check out "Tommy & Chuckie" they are supposed to be at the mall.
Oh yeah Tuesday he walked into the corner of the wall, I said go get your shoes in the room pretty soon he screamed he told me he was walking with his eyes closed. Left a bruise line on his forehead, it's starting to fade now though. And of course the minute he hit the wall there was an instant bruise.
I better get off the computer it's kinda lighting out, hope you have a great weekend.
Once again with much love Thank-You for coming to check on Tayden and leaving him wonderful message's.
How are you today?
What was your weekend like, ours was just staying in the house. We went to the library on Saturday but was a half hour late it was already closed. So we just did some shopping and came home.
Can you believe that March is almost over already??
If you have Taydens page posted on your site, I would like to say Thank-You again because although its your page for your own you take the time to spread the word of others.
Went to school today it was a short day on Monday's they only go until 12:30pm. Tayden wanted to walk home he didn't want to ride the bus. So I called my mom, aunt, no answer we live about 3 mile's or so from school. I called his auntie Amy and asked her if she could come give us a ride, she said yeah so we started to walk and I said Tayden Amy's going to come pick us up no we can just walk he said. What if you get tired I won't I'll just hold your hand, we got a ride from her and she took him to the store and got him some snacks.
Lucky for me we didn't walk all that way but he really wanted to walk, I could see me trying to carry him up that big long hill. He does get tired after walking a way's but I guess he didn't realize how far home actually was gonna be if we walked.
I hope you have a great week, and we'll talk to you soon. Thanks for coming to check on Tayden and for leaving him wonderful messages.
The weather outside today is great it's between 65-70 to feel the warmth from the sun is nice.
No big plans this weekend, might take Tayden to the library to exchange his book for another. Did I tell you we went to the library in town about 1/2 hour away, he got his own library card and we sat in there looking at books and reading for almost 2 hours it was great.
We hope you have a great weekend, and we'll check in with you later.
Please forgive me for not making it to your page, I've just been in a slump I'm not sure if it's because last year this time is when it all happened. Know that you are in our thoughts & prayers.
Saturday~~MARCH 6th, 2004~~
Thinking back to last year......
When you think about it March 6th last year was a Thursday and this year its a Saturday. Isn't it crazy how you never forget what day it happened on what time, kinda like when they are born someone asks you and its automatic.
I know celebrating his one year is a special time, its an emotional time, being thank-ful time and so much more.
Last year on March 6th I didn't find comfort in words, I was on hold I didn't know what to think, that night all I could do is cry as I watch him lay in that hospital bed.
I wondered what I did wrong? Did I miss signs before? I thought he was a healthy 2 1/2 year old, I made sure he got all his shots on time, he went to his check-ups and one day it was all turned upside down.
All I can say is we will never forget March 6th, we were all given a big scare, we had no idea what was going on. We did know that Taydens health wasn't as we thought. He went through getting an I.V, a pick line, a central line with a double lumen, staying in ICU for 13 day's, hospital stays, taking medicine's and I could only imagine what he was thinking.
Today his counts are looking good still not in the normal range but getting there. Taking his medicine's twice a day, visiting his Doctor once a month, waiting for winter to be done so he can attend more school, staying at home watching cartoons, and playing with his toy's.
He has been taking his medicine's for almost a year, he's a trooper I tell ya. His Doctor weaned his cyclosporin a point so he will get labs on the 15th to see how his counts are handling the adjustment.
We would like to thank; our creator (prayers are strong), the Sioux Valley Pediatric staff, the Pediatric ICU staff, the Social Worker's, Childlife, the Clinic staff at (Lower Brule & Sioux Valley), Dr. Stout & Dr. Tancabelic (ones that assisted them), family, and friends from home and to all the ones we met through this.
The Ronald McDonald house in Sioux Falls was a big help the cost only $5.00 a night. You could do laundry there, hang out, sleep, shower, cook, and meet new people. The house offer's a home away from home for any family whose child age 21 or younger is receiving medical care in S.F.
The staff are all really nice so nice that we had to bring one closer to home with us right Betsy, she claims it's because of a new job but I don't know.
There are no words that can express how we feel about your continued support and prayers as we journey through this one day at a time.
Thank-you for coming to check on Tayden.
How are you today?
Thank-you for coming to check on Tayden and taking the time to sign the guestbook. We love to hear from you always.
We went to SF on Sunday got a motel room, went to Chuck E Cheeses and a little shopping. Theres this one guy that works there knows Tayden now he said I recognize him when you come in with his long hair and all. Asked how our trip went? We had loads of fun there and this is the first time Tayden was ready to go he was ready to get his prize and get outta here he said.
His appointment went good, this time I only let them use the right arm and it worked right away. So here's his labs.
WBC was 6.
HGB was 10.8 and Platelets 196 thousand
The nurse said she would ask if the Doctor wants to wean him a point again, I'm pretty sure she will she wanted to see what his HGB was gonna do. They'll call me later on today.
~~~~~~His levels were fine, and his cyclosporin lowered a point.~~~~~~

What you think of the weather? All last week warm now rain mixed with snow.

Hope you have a great week, talk you later.

Tayden & Family

Thanks KIM......

And called me before I got down said "Happy Meal, with a hamburger, fries and a toy and thats it".

We are getting ready to go to Sioux Falls today spend the night and go to his appointment Monday.

Thank-you for coming to check on Tayden, please sign the guestbook if you have time. ~~Love to hear from you~~

How are you today?

I would like to start out by saying thanks for coming to check on Tayden and signing the guestbook.

Last night Tayden was a little warm, with a runny nose, and a little bit of a cough. He woke-up in the middle of the night to go to bathroom when he came back in the room he said my nose is better. This morning he still has the cough and runny nose, I knew it wasn't going to be gone over night. Might have to pay the clinic a visit later today.

We called our good ol' buddy Betsy last night and Tayden kept her on the phone for a 1/2 hour. He had alot of stuff to talk about, he asked her what all was in her house, how about the weather, dinosaurs, rabbits, sea monsters, and more. It was quite the conversation, he had her laughing.

Not much happening other than hanging out at home, watching cartoons, playing, and doing some school work.

He is going for his check-up with his Doctor Monday and labs.

~~Thanks KIM for your help.~~

~~~~~~How are you today?~~~~~~
Tayden is having a good time watching cartoons, playing with toys and doing a little school work.
We would like to extend our thanks to Kim, for doing such a wonderful job of changing the background and posting a few pictures from our trip Disney World.
I went out and signed guestbooks letting you know that there were pictures posted.
Thanks for coming to check on Tayden and see his photo's.
Next Monday he goes to see his Doctor, and get labs. I'll post them when we get them.
As you read above that on March 6th will be a big day for Tayden. He will have one year and going strong against his diagnosis.
~~~~~~How are you today?~~~~~~

Our weekend was pretty relaxing, we just stayed home. Tayden is doing good, he goes for labs next Monday. I'll post them when we get them.

I would like to Thank-You for coming to check on Tayden and signing the guestbook the friendship that we have found by having this page for him is endless.

No big plans for this week, we will probaly go and check out his class. His teacher's brought him a plant today, and he's very excited about making sure it has enough water.

The weather is supposed to be pretty good this week, the sun coming in the window feels great.

I'm still working on getting some picutre's posted, if anyone has any tips on how I can transfer them from my digital please let me know.

Hope you have a great week.

Hello how are you today?
We are doing good, Tayden visited his class today. They were all very excited to see him. He did his snowflake and his snowman he didn't even have to really move his classmates helped him out one girl had his hand and dipped his finger in the glue it was a sight to see.

Tayden has been feeling good and we will be getting labs on March 1st, he will be doing his monthly checkup with his Doctor in Sioux Falls.

We went to Pierre on Monday and seen our good ol' buddy Betsy she met us at McDonalds and we hung out there for awhile. Later while we were at Wal-Mart we met her mom there and had some soda with her. And I also commented on how i would like to see her and Tayden go shopping one time. I could only imagine how full their cart would be.

Other than that we have just been at home, a visit to Staceys & Paulines, and thats about it. I'm still trying to figure how I can transfer some pictures from my digtal on here so I can share some with you.

I'm also trying to get back into the swing of visiting pages and letting you know that we are thinking about you. That process is going a little slow so please bear with me.

I went bowling last night Thanks Mom for keeping Taydne. I bowled a 146, 161, 210 that amazed me since lately I bearly reach my average if that.

Could you say an extra prayer for my uncle he's been in and out of the hospital trying to get his antibotic reagulated. For my sister who's 15 and has been sick this past week not sure what she has.

~Monday the 9th~
We went to Disney's Animal Kingdom today. This time I let them sleep until 8am and then attempted to get them up. When I say them I mean Tayden & Jerauld. We get some breakfast and then enter the park. Seeing the tree of life there was cool, we seen the Lion King perform, and then we seen Mickey, Minnie, Brother Bear, Rafiki, Chip n Dale.

We went to Asia seen tigers, and we went on a Safari where seen elephants, lions, wilderbees, anglebess (don't ask me why Tayden calls them that but its so cute when he says it), and that was about 15-20 mins long.

Tayden cruised in a stroller so at least he didnt have to do all the walking. We were at Animal Kingdom from 9am-2pm and went back to the Villa to rest and get out of the sun (lol).

~Tuesday the 10th~
We went to MGM studios and that was very cool. Tayden seen Big Bear in the blue house live on stage along with Rollie Pollie Wollie, Stanley, Pooh Bear & Gang. Walked around trying to see all we could get some more signatures in his autograph book. Stayed there about the same time as we did the other from about 9am-2pm and went back to rest. Mary Bunny tucked Tayden in and he loved it he wanted her to come back. He actually didnt want to get out of bed because she tucked him in.

~Wednesday the 11th~
We did Magic Kingdom & Epcot with a rest in between them.

~Thursday the 12th~
We went to Universal Studios and Island of Adventure and that day went from about 10am-6pm we were very tired (lol).
Packed up and was ready to come home.

~Friday the 13th~
Up at 8am getting ready, put our bags in the car and headed to the airport about 9am. When we drove to the airport it was crazy the way they have the signs go this way for or that way to well since I wasn't the driver I didnt mind (lol) but I thought we took the wrong turn and theres no way to correct once you make that turn right so we are driving and by luck we were on the right road so it all worked out. We parked the rental car and went inside to check in.

Last night Tayden got a Super Man pajama and he put it on when we got home and he still has it on. He has all his collection to his Batman, Super Man, Green Lantern and Flash they are figure that are hard as rock and they kind of bend but he has them (lol) he got Flash in Florida.

I have to share this quick story, Betsy and her mom Cathy are loving people they drove up to Sioux Falls hoping to suprise us not knowing that we were coming right home after our flight got in. They ordered to large pizza's and called to say they were waiting at the motel and we were like hour from home. Thanks you two you are the greatest.

I know this was a quick summary of what we did but please feel free to ask me. I wanted to get this typed and try to visit some of the pages.

~~~~~~Happy Valentine's Day~~~~~~We are home......
Thank-You for coming to sign the guestbook well we were away. I'll try and get you all caught up on our end, we took a whole lot of picture's and I'll do my best to get them posted ASAP.
~Friday the 6th~
We left for Sioux Falls in the afternoon, my mom drove us (Thanks Mom). We arrived saftely there. The weather had me thinking cause the snow was blowing and in SF they got way more snow then we did. Also arriving in Sioux Falls was Stacey, Betsy and Cathy. When everyone was there we went to Chuckie Cheese's and had a blast. Kathy asked the workers if they could have Chuckie dress up and come out they said he already did but they could do it again. Cathy told them he was going on his MakeAWish trip so when Chuckie came out he gave Tayden a big stuffed Chuckie that was so cool. We left there about 10ish that night, went back to the room tried to get Tayden to unwind a little.
~Saturday~
We woke-up at 6am I started getting ready and woke Tayden up and he wasn't to happy about being up so early. Went downstairs to the lobby part our limo was coming at 7am, we were all down there laughing and the guy at the counter says "We still have guests sleeping" how rude I thought. The limo came and we started getting in Cathy says well how will we get back here, and everyone was almost in Stacey said we'll get a cab oh okay Cathy said. The limo was great Tayden loved it. Wendy was there since her father couldn't be they adopted Taydens wish and she is such a lovely lady. We get an early flight and we are off
~Tayden didn't mind flying a bit, you know how it takes awhile before you get in the air. "He said are we gonna sit here all day"~
We arrived in Orlando on time the greeters from Give Kids The World were there, they took us over to the rental car place and we got our car. Gave us directions and off we went, being this was our first time we made it there to GKTW without a problem. It was Mayor Bunny's birthday and thats where me and Tayden checked out while Jerauld went to Oriention. We got into our Villa and relaxed. Because we wanted to have a good start in the morning.
IF YOU HAVE ANY ?'s WHILE YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO READ ALL THIS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK
And I realize that there's only so much you can see and do. And oh yeah lots of walking.
~Sunday~
I'm very excited to get going and get Tayden out seeing things I woke-up at 7:30am and woke them up at 8am. We started off our adventure with Sea World. There are no words I can say when I would see Tayden's response to what he saw.
There was ton's of walking and more walking and this was only the start. We used his button to get in and to get a stroller.
We seen the dolphins, sting rays, amatinees, Shamu, the list goes on and on. We were just overwhelmed, but we walked around to see what they had to see.
Being so sunny we stayed until about 2:00 and went back to the Villa, when we parked the car at Sea World it was about a few miles away lol and oh boy to walk back over there was something else.
I'll be back to post the rest, Tayden woke-up and we have to play.
~~~~~~Make-A-Wish trip 3 day's~~~~~~
So here I'm not much to update, other than I pray that the snow quits. It's very cold outside, so I'm sure that warm weather will feel nice. If you have any stories to share about your trip, please feel free to share them with us.

Taydens teacher came to the house yesterday and brought us another package. It had some Valentine's activites in there so we are doing them and hanging them around the house. He did finger paint again today along with painting with a brush so we have quite a few paintings to hang up tonight. ~Waiting for them to dry~

Janice from Make-A-Wish called also and confirmed everything, I asked about seats again. As mine isn't by them, she said we will ask as soon as we get to the airport.

His Doctor has started to wean him off his main medicine on Halloween. The last few times his HGB has remained about the same so she would like to see if it will come up anymore on its own. I agree with her because you don't want to wean to fast.

I hope you all are doing good, I tried to visit as many pages as I could because I probaly won't get time in the next couple days. I will check on you all when we return.
Please feel free to keep the guestbook signing going as we would like to know if you stopped by and how your doing.

If you have Taydens page posted on our site (Here's a big hug) Thank-You.

May I ask you to say an extra prayer for us while we go on our trip that we make it there and back safely. Tayden has only been in a helicopter which was when they transported him to the hospital, his dad has never flown and is kinda nervous about the whole flying deal. I have flown a few times, but we as a family haven't done it. ~~~~~~Thank-You~~~~~~

We have some of our family & friends going to Sioux Falls with us on Friday to see us off on Saturday. And we are very thankful that they are. ~They are so thoughtful~

Thanks Mike, Danita, Brooke, and Alyssa from the Chamberlain bowling alley for the $ to go towards our trip.

Sunday we headed to Sioux Falls, and the closer we got there it was snowing. They already had alot of snow on the ground, and it kept coming down, it finally quit Monday. Tayden wanted to dig in the snow so at Wal-Mart he got a set of three (shovel, rake, and spade). When we got back to the room I let him dig a little, and then when we left Monday he used all three to dig.

Okay so when they go to draw from his left arm again, they said the vein is nice just can't draw from it must be to much scar tissue there are something. I was thinking because that's where he had his pick-line in for about 4 weeks or so. It took a little while but they drew from the right arm. Yeah once again two pokes.

I mentioned his feet in other updates that he was complaining about them hurting. Yesterday morning he woke-up crying again because they hurt. I mentioned that to his Doctor she said they look fine they feel fine, but if your really worried about it we can take an X-Ray of them make sure the bones look fine. The X-Ray's came back looking great, so she they must be growing pains or cramps.

How are you today?? How was your week??

Thank-You for coming to check on Tayden, please sign the guestbook so we know you stopped. It's nice to hear from you.

We would like to say Happy Birthday to Samantha, who's three now.

Tayden has been staying home inside because it is so freezing outside. He doesn't mind he has alot of toys and things to keep him busy. In between all that I squeeze some school work in, still writing T's and A's.

Okay remember I told you our wish box came in, well it was a cardboard box and I said Tayden would you like to put some of your toys in this box, (there all over the living room and everywhere) so I put them in any extra container I find. He thought I meant like put the toys you want to take on the trip. He has the box full of toys he said he's taking because he don't want to buy new ones. Being that he hasn't seen what all they have to offer there. (lol)

The other day when he was doing school work, I had him doing his cutting. I always encourage him saying good job, well this time I said Son you sure do know how to cut where did you learn how to cut at, he looked at me and said "Internet". ~He comes up with some good ones~

Tonight my mom is gonna keep Tayden while I go bowling, it's Monte Carlo at the bowling alley starts at 7pm. Mom's aren't they the greatest, thanks mom. I appericate all you do like helping me out with Tayden.

May I ask you to say an extra prayer for us while we go on our trip that we make it there and back safely. ??Guess what came in the mail today??

Our Wish Box with our goodies, tickets, and some spending money. *Wow* we are actually gonna go to Disney World, okay so it's sinking in a little bit the box helped make it more real. I'm wondering what it's gonna feel like next week when we are only days away.

A bummer I looked at our tickets and my seat is not by Tayden or Jerauld. I called them they said they would see what they could do or I might just have to wait til we are on the plane and ask to move.

Some of our family and friends are going to see us off on our trip. We are gonna stay at the same motel and mabye go out for supper the night before.

Tuesday, January 27, 2004
How are you today? We are doing good, just staying inside keeping warm it is freezing outside. We got some snow not alot just enough to cover the ground and make some little drifts.

Tayden said he would lay on the ground and make angels, but with being freezing out there I'd rather not put him in that spot right now. I know he would love to play in it, but I think if I took him outside with the attention of only being out there for a few minutes, would turn into him wanting to stay out there. Saving my self the heartbreak of trying to get him inside.

It's always hard when you tell them no or its time to go and they look at you with the look. How is it they know that if they give us that look that we will do just about anything or say okay 5 more minutes.

Tayden is doing great other than his over protective mom who won't let him freeze to play in the snow. He is getting labs next week. I've been talking about trip and a very good friend of ours brought this to my attention (Thanks Helen), she said well I don't wish that you would have to use a Doctor well your down there. But has his Doctor mentioned anything about where you could go or will she send a little info with you about his condition incase something comes up. I said you know in never crossed my mind I was thinking of how much fun he'll have and all the things he'll see. But never stopped to think that we should have the info just incase there would be an emergency.

Thank-You for coming to Taydens page and signing his guestbook we love hearing from each and everyone of you. To the ones who have his link to his page on yours thanks. I have not yet figured that out how to add drop boxes and all that cool stuff. But don't think that we forgot you.

~~~~~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULINE~~~~~~January 26th, 2004~~~~~~
Pauline is my aunt who is very dear to me, she has always been there for me and my family. I have to share a little story with you, if you have a moment feel free to read.
My Auntie,
She holds a very special place in my heart, and one day she got news that she either needed to be on dialysis or it wouldn't be looking good for her. She always told us that no matter what she would not want to be on dialysis because she seen how others handled it. So if it meant living longer or however they describe it to you when they tell you that, she choose to go on dialysis. Well let me tell you to watch her go through what she did, watch her have trouble with her arm, watch tears fall because it hurt (not dialysis in general), being sick not being able to eat or hold it down, it was alot for her I know. Family and friends went to get tested to see if we could be her match, I would of been a perfect match but wrong blood type. To make a long story short, she did receive a kidney transplant from a unknown donor. And its been four months on the the 8th since her transplant and she is doing great. (Prayer's are strong)
Pauline you have always been by my side, to weather out what was happening in my life not matter what the situation. I Love You Very Much. Hope you enjoy your birthday.
~~~~~~Happy Birthday Pauline~~~~~~January 26th, 2004~~~~~~

The ground has snow on it today, it's still kinda coming down, and it's cold.

Thank-You for coming to check on Tayden. Please sign the guestbook so we know you stopped by.

So how's your week going? We are having a pretty calm week not doing to much. Hanging out making T's and A's (lol).

~~~~~~This is what we did today~~~~~~
I've been meaning to clean our room since we got all our new toys for Christmas. I finally started about 3:30pm and hauled the bed out and you should of seen under the bed it was crazy almost didn't need the frame all that stuff could of held the bed up.
Next I piled things in our closet so I could at least get the whole room swept, so okay this is much easier hauling stuff out of the room, stuffing them in bags and then bringing in all back in again. I rearranged the room put the bed on the other side, dresser over there, tv and movies in the other corner. All that good stuff.
Tayden decided to help me he was hauling his books that he wanted on the shelf to me and finding new toys that were under the bed, when he went to step over the bed frame he scraped his leg on the corner (OUCH). He started to cry and I picked him up went to go get the washing off stuff the new Band-Aid liquid cleanser. Put a band-aid on it and put him on the couch to rest.
He is a very good helper when it comes to needing some. I finished up all except for the stuff that I piled in our closet. I'm off the make some supper all that work made me hungry. Hope you have a wonderful evening.
No new labs yet mabye next week if not for sure before we go on our trip. If you would like to share your story with me how it was when you went, please feel free to.
I hope you have a lovely weekend. Take Care and Talk to you soon.
(Thanks Kim for doing the background,
if you want a new look on your cb page Kim does a great job!)
How was your weekend?
I would like to start out by saying Thank-You very much for coming to check on Tayden and signing his guestbook. It's nice to hear from each and everyone of you. Also for wishing us well on our trip and sharing the stories from when you went.
Tayden is doing well, he doesn't like to leave the house unless he has to. I'm sure that will change next month though. I don't think it will actually sink it until we are on our way there.
I have to share this again he's making T's and A's I'm so excited for him.
The weather today is sunny and the temp. is about 13. We took a ride just to get out of the house and to get some milk (for cereal) can't run out of the stuff. Tayden always says I need some "Smorz indoors". That's one of his favortie cereals so far.
Hope you have a great week.
Thursday already!! So how was the week so far for you?
Are week was pretty smooth, Yesterday one of Tayden's teacher's came up and gave us some stuff to do while we are at home. She said that the kids are asking about him wondering when he's coming back. I thought that was so sweet.
Tayden can write the T and the A in his name. I'm pretty excited so I always want him to write them for me he says there now, am I done.
Not much else happening Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday he had watery eyes and a runny nose. It kind of broke today though which I'm glad.
Well he needs to be seen before we go on our trip, so probaly on February 2nd will be the next labs to be posted.
The Sun is shining bright outside today, kinda chilly not to bad. Wonder what this weekend's weather will hold.
Hope you have a great evening and a lovely Friday. Thanks for stopping in to check on Tayden. And Thanks for posting his link on your caringbridge page.
Please sign the Guestbook so we know you stopped. Thank-You
Happy Monday, how's it going for you? How was the weekend?
Thank's for coming to check on Tayden, please sign the Guestbook so we know you stopped.
Let's see we had a good weekend, we kinda just sat around at home. Saturday we went to my auntie's and visited for awhile. Tayden watched cartoons, I gave my uncle a hair cut, and swept & mopped for my aunt. I love to help out because they do so much for us. I'd rather to do the cleaning then sit and watch her do it, I like to clean!
Sunday we went to go see my sister in school. She's already a freshman hard to believe pretty soon she'll be graduating from high school.
Tayden started a thing where when we leave to go somewhere he usually know's what toy he's looking for and he thinks thats why we leave the house because when he finds it, he'll say okay lets go home (lol).
Make-A-Wish Tayden
I wanted to share it with you but I was waiting for the stuff to come in the mail, but I called them today. Tayden is getting a wish from the Make-A-Wish here in South Dakota there office is located in Sioux Falls so we filed his paperwork after he was diagnosed.
They stayed in contact with us, well we stayed in Sioux Falls and the wish team came asked him what he liked and what he thought his wish could be if he could have anything and he responded yeah to whatever he named. It came down to asking him would you like to visit a big zoo or Disney World.
Well guess which one he picked? I thought it would be the zoo because his love for animals, its gonna be a trip to Walt Disney World, FL.
Tayden named all kinds of people he wants to take on his trip his Grandma was the first one. They only allow the immediate family to go since there are no siblings. It's gonna be Tayden, Me and his Dad (Jerauld). We will be leaving on February 7th for one week.
Take Care and talk to you soon.
Hello how was your Thursday? This will probaly be the longest Journal you have read from me.
We woke-up to snow on the ground again (lol), it was cold but not freezing like it has been. We were on the road at 9a.m, My mom took the day off to drive us there she's so nice. I'm very Thank-ful for whoever can drive us to his appointment it means alot.
Well our first stop was McDonald's for some breakfast then drove a couple hours to his appointment it's well worth it everytime, we arrived in SF right around lunch time.
Headed over to Chucky Cheese's for about an hour. And oh boy! let me tell you how much fun Tayden had, he kept looking to see that their were tokens in his cup. As always it was really fun there for all of us. He used all his tickets we had won for little rubbery spiders.
We went to his appointment at 2p.m and it wasn't to busy there so we got right in. He got to see the nurses and his Doctor, and Carrie (Childlife). This is when the tears start to fall, the lab lady came and she tied the thing around his left arm and he already started to cry he said it was to tight. She stuck the needle in and she kept moving it around, she said its right there I don't know why it won't draw. Pulled the needle out and put it in his right arm, he was crying hard (who wouldn't be), she finally got it to draw.
*If we could only feel the pain for them* Carrie said Tayden you got two poke's you get two prizes well he decided on a little dinosaur egg thing and a little soccer ball that bounces. They are gonna call me with the labs tommorrow, because she wasn't sure they'd be back since it was 3p.m already.
I did ask the Doctor what she thought of his feet hurting again she said she would see what his counts looked like, and if his HGB is still 9. then we probaly wouldn't get to drop a point on his main medicine, if your wondering what I'm talking about, he started his weaning of his mosrt important medicine it started on Halloween and has dropped 2 points. So yeah if his counts look the same then she will hold off but if they are better she will wean another point.
We got in the car and he fell asleep, had my mom stop at Target so I could go in and get him some of his favorite things.
We also went over to see my sister Mary's basketball game she goes to school about 1/2 hour away from SF so we stopped in watched her play and headed back towards home.
Tayden enjoyed some roast beef from Arby's, hamburger (Plain) from Wendy's, and a hamburger (Plain) from McDonald's. Not all at once but through out our day. Not to healthy huh? I figure as long as I can get him to eat.
We got home about 11:30 this evening, I tell ya my mom keeps us out late (lol). I think thats why nobody likes to shop with us we take so long, but hey don't want to miss anything.
I better get to bed its 1:07a.m otherwise Tayden will be up at em' before me. Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. Will post the labs as soon as they call.
They called with the labs his WBC 11.2, HGB 10.5, and Platelets 209 thousand!!!!! No weaning of a point this time (hopefully next time).
Very impressed with his labs couldn't be happier.
Prayer's are strong.
Prayer's are strong.
Hello how are you today? We are just hanging out at home, we do some stuff so it's like school for Tayden.
Tayden woke-up this morning crying saying his feet hurt, he said get my socks and my slippers, I said do they hurt or they just cold he said cold and hurt. I got up gave him so Tylenol and he stayed up to watch cartoons. The thing with his feet went on before, just no cause for it that I know.
We were picking up some toys in the living room, and I was setting his train back up because somehow it always jumps its track. I was hooking the track back together and I asked Tayden to hand me the train, he said mom your smart you know how to put things together. I said well Thank-You son he just stood there (lol).
Still cold outside here the sun is shining bright, makes you almost want to be out there til' you step out there. We see the school bus go by in the morning and then when it drops the kids back off again.
Can't wait til' Thursday to see what his counts are. I know he's not looking forward to the actual lab draw, but they are nice about giving him a prize.
I try and visit as many caringbridge pages as I can, because I know how nice it is to have some company. So please sign the Guestbook so we know you stopped in.
*Thank-You for checking in on Tayden*
Prayer's are strong.
How was your weekend? Well we woke-up this morning to find some snow on the ground. It was kinda cold otherwise I was thinking of taking Tayden outside to pull him on his new sled he got from G'ma Pauline awhile ago. Mabye tomarrow it won't be so cold. Just don't want him to get a cold, after it took over two weeks to rid the cough he had. He could probaly wait I know he will enjoy being outside in snow it just might have to wait.
Tomarrow people are going back to school & work, sadly Tayden won't be going to school but I'll find ways to make it like school here. He'll probaly miss playing with the other kids but better to be safe then sick can't avoid everything but you do what you can right.
A big thanks to Karen & Shannon for helping get the linking thing down, it wasn't til I typed what I have been that they caught my mistake it was little but it made a difference. (Thanks)
We go to SF on Thursday to see his Doctor, get his labs, I know no one can control what they'll be, just only got to believe that they'll keep going up.
Have a wonderful week and talk to you soon,
Tayden & Family
~Happy New Year~
Prayer's are strong.
Well just checking in for today, I actually got Tayden out of the house today. Took him bowling he bowled two games then he was done, his games were 89 & 70.
Not much else happening, we get labs next week can't wait to see what they are. Tayden went to bed last night at 7pm I woke him up and he went right back to bed. This morning I got him up so he could watch the Rose Bowl Parade and that was at 10 a.m.
Hope you have a good weekend. And once again Thank-You for coming to check on Tayden.
Talk to you soon,
Tayden & Family
Hope you have a Happy New Year
Prayer's are strong.
Not much happening, we got to see our good ol' buddy Betsy and her family. Betsy and Tayden had a blast playing what he wanted. We exchanged gifts and had alot of fun bonding, it's to bad that we don't get together more often though.
Tayden has just been staying home playing, watching cartoons and enjoying himself. You can't get him to leave the house if you ask him to go somewhere he'll say no.
It's been pretty cold outside anyhow though, so it's best he stay inside. No big plans for New Year's just ringing it in at home.
If you've been wondering why I haven't mentioned any labs well it's because we don't get any til' next week. We get to take a trip to SF to see his Doctor and mabye if his cyclosporin level is great again she might drop another point. We've been in the weaning of his main medicine and it was 1.3 then 1.2 now it's been 1.1 that doesn't seem like alot just a point but thats progress.
Thanks for coming to his page to check in on him, I enjoy the company and being able to share his journey.
Have a great week,
Tayden & Family
Prayer's are strong.
Hope you all had a good weekend? Yesterday we went to see the movie "Brother Bear" it was pretty good. Tayden is still in his glory with all his new Christmas toy's and I actually started to clean my room last night so there's more than a walk way in and out.
I'm getting all kinds of great response's when people sign the guestbook expecially now that there are recent picture's of Tayden, Thank-You Stacey Elf for putting them on there for us. And to all the people who continue to stop in and say hello, Thank-You very much for the company.
Our good ol' buddy Betsy is coming to our house today, I think her mom & dad are to but I'm not sure. He said they are going to play games and drink some Diet Pepsi.
One of Tayden's gifts was the Leap Pad where it will grow with him up to age eight, so I figured we could do that as part as his home school.
Have a great week and talk to you soon.
Love, Tayden & Family
Tayden received numerous gifts and he's enjoying them all. We all did I have to share that I got a digital camera & printer, is that awesome are what I thought it was, we love and appericate all of them.
Tayden has finally lost the cough (thank goodness), I was beginning to wonder if it was ever gonna leave.
Just a quick update, take care.
Prayer's are strong......
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Happy Monday to you all, wow Christmas is on Thursday already. Just wanted to say if your traveling for the Holiday may you have a safe travel to and from.
Tayden still has the cough tomarrow will be two weeks, that seems just a little insane but I guess just have to let it be.
We went to do a little more shopping this weekend, Tayden was picking the present I was just saying a name and I would ask him if we forgot anyone. It was pretty fun just to let him do the picking, I read that somewhere that its okay to let them get whatever they pick for that person, like if G'ma got a hammer or Dad got a pencil. It didn't matter because it's what they picked for them.
When we got home I wanted to see if he'd remember so I would say who'd we get this for and he would tell me the same person he told me earlier. He's excited for Christmas when he can see what he got, he even told my mom it was Christmas Eve could he open a present (lol).
If I don't update before Christmas, I hope you enjoy the time with your family and friends. There's so much that you think about during the holidays like how luckily you are to be having a present to open or somewhere to go, just gets you thinking.
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Mom, we love you very much. (December 25th)
She is actually sneaking to SF with my aunt and cousin to go do some more shopping and there leaving us home (lol).
Take Care and Happy Holidays,
Tayden & Family
Prayer's are strong......
I would like to start out by saying that Tayden still has the cough, I took him to the clinic today, I'd like to thank the clinic and the SV Clinic because I always call them and he's been sick since last Tuesday.
The left ear has cleared up, the eye drops have worked no more reddness in them, the fever has been done since Saturday, eating a little more, just that cough and runny nose still here. I hope to get him feeling better so he can enjoy Christmas.
His counts are still looking good, WBC was 11., HGB 9.9 and platelets 179.
I myself have got a sniffle now too, I think it's an allergy thing because I got watery eyes and runny nose hope to get myself better so me and Tayden don't pass our whatever it is that we have back and forth to each other.
Christmas time is a special time for every family in it's own way. I'd like to share that my mom's Birthday is on Christmas, in the past I have been able to find Christmas B-Day cards this year I haven't found one, but I know it's not what you give or get its the thought.
I'd like to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
The weather has been very cold and windy out the last couple days. All the people that are traveling for the holidays I hope you have a safe travel to and from.
Tayden said Grandma can we open a present it's Christmas Eve (lol). He's going to headstart tomarrow to have his picture taken with Santa.
Staying home from school hasn't been to tough on him, but I know he misses playing with the other kids. His teacher brought some stuff yesterday for him to do, I know it's the same but I hope he understands.
Until we talk again, take care.
Tayden & Family
Prayer's are strong......
Monday already only ten day's left til' Christmas.
My update on Tayden is that since last Tuesday he's not been feeling to great. I'm happy to report that I just got him to eat (yes), I was wondering what he's been running on because he hasn't ate a whole lot since last week.
He's in his room watching "Sing-Along-Songs", and his energy is starting to come back before I think he went in spurts of it and then wore out right away.
Was gonna take Tayden to see what his labs are, but his Doctor said no need to , I was like oh okay well I thought mabye he should get them checked because he's been sick.
It's windy and cold outside here today, some places are in a Winter Storm watch. Safe traveling to all the ones heading out to Rapid City for LNI. We've been out there for the last few years but I think we'll pass this year for different reasons.
Our good ol' buddy Betsy has been in D.C on business, hope to see her before Christmas.
My mom picked me up a Good Housekeeping magazine and I just started to skim through it and I read this on one of the pages and I thought this is so true,
"There are 126 schools in the country that teach you how to be a physician but not one for how to be a patient."
Thanks for the continued prayer's and support.
Talk to you soon,
Tayden & Family
Saturday, December 13, 2003 11:46 PM CST
Prayer's are strong......
Hope you all had a good weekend?
Just wanted to stop in update a little, yeah it's crazy Tayden has been ill since Tuesday. Last night he actually got up to run around a little so that's great his energy is coming back it's been different to see him just lying around with no energy.
He still has that awful cough, runny nose, now the sore left eye has moved to the other side (I mean sore like there red I'm not sure if its broken vessels are not), his fever has been under control, no appetite, not sure about how his ear feels, just still giving the medicine for it and then will take him for a recheck.
Everytime I ask Tayden how he feels he says "better", even this past week when you could tell he wasn't he still responded "better".
Kinda don't want to take him to the clinic there's a few cases of the flu going around. Next week I'm going to call down there and see what his flu test came back as there (he did one in SF that was negative), and see what his strep throat test said.
As I mentioned before he'll be at home from school for the winter months can't have him catching anything else (it attacks his body to fast I think), I know he won't like that idea. People probaly think I'm overreacting but to see him sick is not very exciting as for any parent.
I encourage Tayden that he needs to be wearing his mask over his mouth at least, when we leave to go somewhere. His response Mom I'm not sick, I know son but someone else might be, no there not, lol.
My mom picked me up a Good Housekeeping magazine and I just started to skim through it and I read this on one of the pages and I thought this is so true,
"There are 126 schools in the country that teach you how to be a physician but not one for how to be a patient."
Please sign the Guestbook, we love to hear from you.
Sunday December 14, 2003
Just wanted to stop in today and ask if you could say an extra prayer for Tayden, he's still feeling sick I'm going to call the clinic tomarrow and see if there's something else we can try for the cough because it's still awful and it will almost be a week. Probaly ask them to do labs see what his counts are.
Take Care,
Thanks for the continued prayer's and support.
Thursday, December 11, 2003 4:15 PM CST
Okay where do I begin.
Tuesday after school as I posted earlier, Tayden wasn't feeling all that great. I took him to the clinic down here yesterday, because I was more concerned he had a fever 100 plus, his left eye was getting sore, loss of appetite, tiredness, and because of his diagnosis I know that it don't take much to bring the counts down.
I called the clinic they said okay bring him in there's alot of the flu going around mabye thats what he has. We got there about 10am and they seen him drew labs, vitals, his left ear was a little red which means he has a earache, did a strep throat culture, and with all that we got some medicine for the infection and some eye drops.
On the way home he fell asleep so I carried him in, let him sleep and about 3pm woke him up to check on him and he had an awful cough, well I called SF to check in with his Doctor there see what she thought, the nurse asked if they checked for Influenza I said no I don't think so, well we went back to the clinic and they were deciding how they wanted to go about doing it because they don't have a rapid which I guess if you have one you get the results right back, so they called Chamberlain they said they didn't either so they did the test at the clinic and gave me the medicine to start just in case he has it.
Back home again he went to sleep he woke-up about 5pm and the cough and the way he was acting scared me so I called the EMT's asked them to come check him out, so they came up checked him out and said I could take him to the hospital if I wanted I said yep I'd like to get him looked at again. I warmed the car up seen his dad and we headed to Chamberlain his dad said well we should just take him to SF to see his Doctor well alrighty I said anything to get him feeling better.
We got to SF about 8:15pm and went to the Ped's floor and his Doctor said well since you drove this far to get him seen I'll admit him overnight and get an IV going get some fluid in him, draw some blood and they have a rapid there so they took this little suction tube thing did inside his nose. He didn't like the IV part the nose part but like always he sat there as brave as could be.
This morning the Doctor came in said the Rapid test came back negative but she said there's so many different types of flu's they would see what the one taken from LB says. She did say it sounds like a upper respitory infection (viral), but just watch him if anything worsens call.
We came home and now he's just sitting there watching t.v, I know the clinic and his Docter probaly think we over react everytime something comes up but better to be safe then sorry, and I would like to thank them for understanding and taking the time to listen.
Thanks to our family and friends for checking to see how Tayden's doing.
I'm planning on talking to the school and mabye keeping him home for the winter months and see if someone from the school can come up kinda like home school I don't know if they do that for headstarters but I'm gonna ask.
Okay well thats the update so far, I'm gonna go take a hot shower relax and watch cartoons with Tayden.
Thanks for the continued prayer's and suppport they are greatly appericated.
If the update I wrote is confusing I don't blame ya sometimes its easier talking in person when you have a long update.
Love,
Tayden & Family
P.S
With Tayden being sick his counts still are looking good.
Tuesday, December 9, 2003 6:37 PM CST
Hello how was your weekend? How's the week starting out for you.
Umm.. after coming home from school today, Tayden said he was tired but you could tell he wasn't feeling well. I bowl on Tuesday nights so I woke him up to see how he was doing but he didn't say to much. So I decided being a mom and all that I would stay home to keep an eye on him.
I hear about all the flu going around and all that so I'll see how he is tomarrow and mabye think about keeping him home the rest of the week to see that he don't catch whatever is going around.
I'll probaly take him to the clinic here if he's not feeling better and then they can talk with his Doctor see what she thinks. I pray it's nothing because I know how easily being sick can mess with his counts.
We get labs next week to see how the weaning is going, mabye sooner if he's still sick.
Well I better get back to Tayden, talk to you soon.
I got his picture's back yesterday so I'll try and get some posted.
Thanks for the continued prayer's and support.
Friday, December 5, 2003 10:54 PM CST
Hello All,
I have to tell you about our trip yesterday to see his Doctor, because of the weather it made it very slow driving to a point. We left home about 8am because we were dropping Tony (my step-dad) off to pick up his truck, well good thing he was the driver we left home and the snow was coming down pretty good but it was the huge snow flakes so they were melting as they hit the ground.
We got to Flandreau where his truck was dropped him off which is about 2 1/2 hours away from our home, we meaning my mom is the driver now head out to Sioux Falls which is about 28 miles away so we get on the road and by now they are covered with snow because the further that way we drove the more snow. We got to his appointment which was for 2pm and the snow is still coming down, they call us right back so we could get back on the road to go home.
We were done at the clinic by 3pm, they drew labs and seen the Doctor and we had mentioned Toys'Rus the night before to Tayden so even though with all the snow coming down we had to stop there, he got a big shark, a movie and he had picked some stuff out for Santa to drop off.
It was about 4:45pm and we got on the road to head home, Tony drove over to SF to drive in front of us and make sure we were traveling safetly to. It took us a little over 1 1/2 to get to Mitchell which if the roads weren't covered in snow and slippery its only supposed to be 45 mins to an hour to get there, but we drove slow and safetly the fastest we could go was about 45mph. The closer home we got the more clear it was.
Yeah so we got home safetly and relaxed watched the movie "Sing Along Songs" from different clips of movies such as Brother Bear, Lilo & Stitch. Went to bed got up for school and came home.
They had to call me today to let me know the results Tayden's labs guess what they were, okay I'll tell you.
WBC 7.1, HGB 10.7 and Platelets were 238 thousand. (WOW)
They also informed me that his cyclosporin level was good and with that we also were told to drop another . so yeah I dton't blame you if your suprised like me.
Prayer's are strong, I really believe that they are.
They started weaning him by a . on Halloween and all is great and I'm very thankful for the progress he continues to do. And now there goes another . and we will get labs in two weeks here.
We also went to the Ronald McDonald House and picked up the newsletter and it's awesome, I wanted to add that in that newsletter it tells what we were going through and it didn't say how much both sides of our family's helped out tremendously expecially our friends. I just want you to know that we remember what each and everyone of you did for us and we will never ever forget that, please remember that you will always be in our hearts, whether it was a phone call, a hug, money, your time you gave what you could and we greatly appericate it.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Thank-You for the continued prayer's and support.
Take Care, talk to you soon.
Wednesday, December 3, 2003 8:15 AM CST
Happy December!!!!
Well no lab updates for ya yet, we go to see his Doctor on Thursday for his his check-up & labs. I'm anxious to see what his counts are.
Tayden didn't feel like going to school yesterday he said no I'm staying home, could they bring school here he said (lol). Other than that he's been at home, once he's at home it's hard to get him to go anywhere.
How's everyone else coming along? Thanks for checking in on Tayden, when I first made this page for him I was like well I hope it helps get the word out about his diagnosis but at the same time be able to share and listen to other's journeys with what there going through.
I will probaly never get the chance to meet you in person but it's just having your friendship and being able to be your friend. (I hope that makes sense)
Having a tab drop off day here at our house on Friday. It'll be interesting to see how much we get.
Getting Tayden's pictures next Tuesday I'm excited, I'll be sure and put some up for you to see.
It's pretty cloudy, drizzly, and a tad bit cold outside today. Well have a good rest of the week, gonna go get Tayden up for school now.
Thanks for the continued prayer's and support, its greatly apperciated.
Talk soon,
Tayden & Family
Saturday, November 29, 2003 10:30 PM CST
Turkey anyone? lol
So how's your weekend going? Today we spent about three hours with our good ol' buddy Betsy & Stacey, we went bowling then went for pizza.
The newsletter that I have been waiting for in the mail should be this week sometime, I'm still very excited. We go to Sioux Falls on Thursday for labs & check-up.
Not much else planned til' then just gonna go to school and hang out.
Last night we put up our Christmas tree and started the decorations and still need to put the lights up outside probaly tomarrow.
A big thanks for those of you who are coming to Tayden's page and keeping in touch.
Your continued prayer's and support are greatly apperciated.
Tayden's big question this week is:
"Why are, our brains in our head"
My response our brains would look pretty silly anywheres else, and because we have all that space in our heads.
Still making T's and recognizes them on t.v and all around.
Talk to you soon.
Love,
Tayden & Family
May your family arrive to your house safetly and if your the one traveling may it be safe.
Tayden is looking forward to putting up the Christmas tree, for Thanksgiving we'll be going to my Aunts house.
It's actually not freezing outstide today (knock on wood), our plans for this weekend are seeing our good ol' buddy Betsy and going bowling if the weather permits.
Can you believe its gonna be Christmas already!!!!
Last year we went to the day after Thanksgiving sale's we got up at 6am its crazy. Not sure if we'll be doing the same thing this year, but who knows.
I finally got the smile quilt link right listed below before it wouldn't take you there now if you click on it, you'll go there, with the help of Sprite from smile quilts, and Shannon who helped but I don't know where I messed up her directions at LOL.
Everytime I ask Tayden how he's feeling he says "better" no matter when I ask him thats his response. His runny nose is almost done I think after having it for over a week.
Enjoy the day with your family and friends tomarrow and always.
Take Care,
Tayden & Family
Hope you had a good weekend? We stayed at home this weekend because we got some snow and it's been very "COLD" outside. Tayden still has a runny nose, and his visit to his Doctor is off tomarrow because of the weather and has been rescheduled for Dec. 4th so no new results til then.
Just would like to say Thank-You for coming to Taydens CB page your prayers and friendship our greatly appreciated.
Any plans for Thanksgiving, who gets to do the cooking, family coming from out of town? Our family has been going to my Aunt's for as long as I can remember.
No newsletter yet? But I'm anxiously waiting. We plan on stopping by the Ronald McDonald House our next visit, we have some tabs for them.
No school tomarrow for Tayden because the teacher's are gonna go Christmas shopping for the kids. And I think just Tuesday and mabye half a day Wednesday for school this week.
Hello Thanks for visiting Tayden's Caringbridge page, it's nice to hear from each and everyone of you.
Angel Chris has made Tayden a smile quilt and if you click on the link below you can get there, check it out it looks cool. Thanks again to Smile Quilts for taking the time to have thie available.
Still watching the mail for the Newsletter.
My Grandma from Ohio sent Tayden some books in the mail, one is Noah's Ark so when he looks for it he says mom where's my GOD book. Thanks G'ma and her work for doing that.
We are supposed to be getting a storm this weekend, hope it's not to bad. No plans for this weekend if no snow might take Tayden bowling again.
Hello how did your weekend go? Tayden has had sort of a cold or runny nose since Saturday, went to to the clinic but they said he sounded fine and I asked them for something to help stop the running nose.
I'm wondering now what his counts will be because I noticed when he was sick last time if showed in his counts. Other than that we stayed home all weekend.
Went to Parent Teacher Conference's today and he's doing great. Tomarrow we are going to get his picture's taken we will probaly go to school for an hour then head to have them taken.
We go see his Doctor next Monday, we usually go up the night before just to get away but this time we will just go that morning.
Platelets were 138, HGB 9.6, and WBC 5.2
The weaning off the cyclosporin shows some difference in the platelet level this week they dropped about 65 because they were 203 thousand.
Being through what we have I call his Doctor when I'm unsure about anything so when his platelets drop I call her she said its fine we'll see what they are when you come up on the 24th.
Not much else going on I'm planning a tab drop off day here at our house and still anxiously waiting for the RMH newsletter.
I ordered some X-Mas cards from the Aplastic Anemia & MDS place I received them in the mail and they really look nice. We haven't been good on getting cards out in the mail but I look forward to getting them out this year just as I have been in the past just never actually got them in the mail.
Talked to our good ol' buddy Betsy on the phone (finally).
We met her at the Ronald McDonald House.
Thanks for continued prayer's and support.
Thanks also for signing the guestbook it's nice to hear from you.
Tayden has been doing good, he went bowling Saturday evening he bowled on the bumper lanes and bowled a 90 & 60 with a little help getting the ball down the lane.
Just been staying indoors because it's been so cold outside. Next week I'm gonna get his pictures taken at Wal-Mart (finally) it's been awhile since he's had them taken in a studio.
The Ronald McDonald newsletter should be coming out before Thanksgiving, so if you would like one sent to you email me your address so I can get one out to you.
Thanks again to our family and friends for the tabs you continue to save. I plan to have a tab drop off day at our house so watch for signs or you can call me to pick them up.
Going to get labs Friday looking forward to see what his counts are. And at the end of the month going to see his Doctor for a check-up and labs.
Thanks for the continued prayers and support.
Today marks the EIGHTH month marker since we learned that there was such a thing called Severe aplastic anemia.
It's amazing how time goes by and you begin to not count the days but how important it is not to take one day for granted because you never know what that day holds, your continued prayers and support are greatly appericated.(Prayers are strong)
I wish we could meet the others who are going through what we are and just give them a big hug because without being able to talk to other people who are dealing with this we would not be able to share our stories and I have met other people through CB pages who are dealing with something else but or also looking for the support so in that I try to sign the guestbook of the CB pages I come across.
Tayden is into making T's he recognizes one when he see's one even on T.V he'll say mom look thats what my name starts with, he'll make one with his pointer fingers. Thats pretty exciting to see him take that step he knows by seeing Tayden that's his name. I'm so amazed and very, very proud of him.
I'd like to Thank our family and friends who are saving tabs for us or not for us but for the Ronald McDonald House. Tayden will be in the next newsletter for the House we are looking forward to seeing him in a newsletter. Thanks to the RMH for remembering us and asking us to be in the newsletter we were very honored when you asked.
No plans for this weekend just hoping to see our good ol' buddy Betsy Values (sometime).
No labs til' the 14th, I'll keep you posted.
Love, Tayden & Family
Hope you all had a good weekend? We woke up to snow this morning and due to that there was no school. Well Tayden went to bed at 8:30p.m last night preparing for the school week with no school he woke up at 6 A.M believe it or not. He was ready to nap at about 1 this afternoon.
The first thing Tayden said when he seen the snow was I wanna go out there but I told him it was to cold and plus still need to get him some snow boots he said I'll just go out there in my rain boots.
Not doing to much today its cold out, so just staying inside keeping warm. I'm still pretty amazed with his platelets (prayers are strong) being 203 thousand. Very excited to see what the next counts are gonna be. The Doctors nurse called Friday of Halloween with some good news of "The weaning" begins I know its just by a point but thats progress in the making.
So we get labs on the 14th, I'll keep you posted.
Talk to you soon.
Thanks for the continued prayer's and support.
Love, Tayden & Family.
Hope you have a Safe and Happy Halloween......
Tayden went to Sioux Falls and his counts look good still,
his PLATLETS were 203 thousand PLATELETS are looking good.
The Doctor said she'll start weaning him off his medicine soon she wanted to see what his cyclo level was today.
While in Sioux Falls we took him to Chuck E Cheese and he had a blast played games and ate pizza.
We were interviewed for the Ronald McDonald newsletter coming out in December.
Thats about it we will talk again when we get more updates.
Hello hope you all had a good weekend?
Tayden had a good weekend, he got to see his good ol' buddy Betsy, we haven't seen her in a very very long time so it was nice to see her.
We go to Sioux Falls next week so we will see what his labs are and mabye talk more with the Doctor about her weaning his medicine. Then he will probaly need his counts more often when she starts to wean him never know what the counts will do, just praying that they will keep on doing what they have been doing.
Take care and talk to you next week.
Thanks for the continued prayers and support.
Wednesday, October 15, 2003 1:11 PM CDT
No new lab results yet, but Tayden is doing well and is going to Headstart. He enjoys school and getting the chance to socialize with others his age. They are making Halloween decorations this week.
We don't go back to Sioux Falls until next month since they moved it to once a month it seems like forever before we know the next lab, but look forward to everyone he gets, it's exciting to see what they are.
In the next month they're talking about weaning him off his medicine, that should be interesting. I'm wondering what his counts are gonna do and if they will want his labs more often for awhile after they start to wean.
He has his Halloween costume picked out I think now he's going to be Woody off Toy Story or he has a Frankinstein so I'm not sure which one he wants to be.
I hope your all doing well and look forard to hearing from you, sign the Guestbook please.
Thank's for the continued prayer's and support.
Love, Tayden & Family
Thursday, October 2, 2003 7:00 PM CDT
Just got back from Sioux Falls we went up last night just to get away for a night. We came back with some more toys (lol) seems we always do he always finds something new that catches his eye, but what child don't like toys huh.
The Doctor said he looks really great and his Platelets went back up they are 150 thousand his HGB was 10.5 and his WBC was 6. so his labs are looking good (Prayers are strong).
He goes to school just when they do school work for an hour because theres alot of cold out there among other stuff. Better to be precautious then not. The school said they'd work with me and when I feel he shouldn't be around then they could make him a folder for home.
My auntie came home today and she to is also doing well.
Take Care until next time.
Love, Tayden & Family
Thanks for the continued prayer's and support.
Friday, September 26, 2003 10:43 AM CDT
Tayden likes school and enjoys being able to play with other children his age. The concern I have right now is other kids who are coughing and don't cover there mouths but I try and remind them its important to cover your mouth so you don't spread germs. There are thirteen kids in his class and two teachers. He has his Halloween costume picked out and decorated the inside of our house.
He caught a bug or something that kept him out of school but he has bounced back to himself, I'm anxious to see what his counts are. And no new results until next Thursday thats when we go to Sioux Falls again, and hopefully will get to stop in and see our good ol' friends in Sioux Valley.
Is anyone still saving tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, it's greatly appreciated if you are. People from Fort Thompson & Lower Brule have given me alot of tabs to take to the RMH and I told them keep saving um' it helps the RMH our alot.
Thank-You for your continued prayer's and support.
(My aunt is doing well after having a kidney transplant on the 8th)
Friday, September 12, 2003 11:24 PM CDT
Hi it's been a very long time since an update and I'm sorry. There is some good news my aunt had a kidney transplant on Monday so we were in SF with her.
Tayden went to headstart two days and caught a cold so I kept home and this coming week he will be going back so hopefully it works out.
How are you doing? Let me know sign the guestbook.
I'm hoping to put a different picture of Tayden on this page because he doesn't look so chubby anymore he's a bean pole or I mean he's very skinny......
Take Care and Talk to you soon.
Thursday, September 4, 2003 11:29 PM CDT
Hello......
We went to SF last night for his appt. today and stayed at a motel with a swimming pool since he can get wet we shopped and went swimming he had fun.
At the Doctor's office they put some numbing cream on his arm so they could draw blood and it didn't hurt to bad. His platelets were 159 thousand they just keep going up I'm so thankful for that. I can still remember the days they would stay below five thousand. His Doctor is really impressed with how his counts are.
Thank-You for the continued prayers and support......
And Wednesday he started headstart he loves it.
Thursday, August 28, 2003 8:46 AM CDT
Hello I hope your all having a good week.
No updates other than having his central line out because of a tear. He's doing pretty good, It's been over a week since he's had the line out so he's been outside getting wet with the water hose (and he loves it). I think he was dreaming about it because he said mom cover my legs up there cold. Tayden starts Headstart next week I'm pretty excited to see how he likes it or what he thinks about it.
We also go to SF next week not looking forward to that because to get his labs they will have to draw from his arm (ouch). I'm wondering what his platelets will be because as you read last week in SF they were 141 I was very suprised to see them get that high (It's been so amazing).
He hasn't received a platelet transfusion in 3 months and blood in 2 months. It will be six months on Sept. 6th since he's been fighting SAA and there are no words to express what we went through but it's something we will never forget.
Thank-You for the continued prayer's and support.
Updates next week when we get back from SF and I'll keep you posted with going to school and all.
Take Care......
Tuesday, August 19, 2003 1:14 PM CDT
On Sunday we were in Fort and I noticed Tayden had a tear in his line (I got scared right away) called Sioux Falls and talked to his Doctor she said if I could clamp it off just come in Monday morning I was like no we are coming tonight. My mom drove us up there and we got there about midnight and they just decided to admit him for a 24 observation. The Doctor came in and said she got a hold of a lady who will come look at it to see if it's repairable if not they'd decide what to do next.
Monday morning the lady came in and said I don't think it is I'll talk to his Doc to see if she wants me to try or if we should just take it out condsidering he hasn't needed a transfusion for awhile. The Doc came in and said well it's up to you if you want it to come out so we decided yeah next she called the Doc who put it in to see when he could schedule Tayd in to take it out. Since the line was in his chest it had to be taken out in the surgery room so they made an incision where the line went in and did what they needed and took it out. They said at 11:30am he could squeeze him in.
They took Tayd at 11 am so they could put an IV in his hand so that went smooth cause they numbed it first and they tried twice to draw blood from his ankle but they ended up just drawing from his arm when they put him to sleep.
All went well they took the line out and now they will have to poke his finger for labs.
Thanks for the continued prayers and support!!
Take Care and Talk to you soon.
His Platelet's were 141!!!!!!!!
Monday, August 11, 2003 12:11 AM CDT
Hello sorry it took so long to update. Did you have a good weekend, this weekend was the pow-wow here in Lower Brule so that's what Tayden did he went to the rodeo and checked the pow-wow out for awhile.
Last Thursday when we went to SF his Doctor said she's considering moving his check-ups to a month. I'm wondering how that will work out because I know when your taking cyclosporin you need your level checked.
Tayden's labs WBC was 4.8, HGB was 9.4 and Platelets 127!!!
Just to update you that Tayden has not received a Platelet transfusion since May 22nd (is that awesome are what).
Last blood transfusion was June 26th (looking good).
All we can do is continue to pray and thanks for your continued prayer's and support.
Take Care Until we talk again.
Good Morning!
How was your weekend? Tayden had a great weekend his birthday was yesterday and it was a very big day for him. We didn't start right on time but it worked out fine. We had a feed for the Community (to thank them for the continued prayer's and support), Tayden received his Lakota name, there was a give-away, we presented Dr. Stout and Dr. Tancabelic (from Sioux Falls) each with a star quilt to show them how much we appericate everything they have done and continue to do in caring for Tayden.
If you didn't get a chance to come I just wanted to share with you what went on and I was very happy to have the turn out we did. The Doctor's from Sioux Falls even made it down and we were very happy for that thanks Dr. Stout and Dr. T for taking time out of your work day to attend.
And to all those who helped make that day possible for Tayden to enjoy thank-you. Our family and friends I know you stayed up until you couldn't keep your eyes open and woke right up that morning to get going everything you did is greatly appericated.
Tayden labs.
WBC was 3.5
HGB was 10.1 and Platelets were 122 !!!!
Counts are looking great.
Thanks for the continued prayers and support.
Love, Tayden & Family
Hello there,
Hope you all had a good weekend? Tayden's counts are still good.
WBC was 3.2 HGB was 9.4 Platelets 103 thousand, they went down from last Thursday but they are stable and still remain up. It's such a blessing to see his counts going up and staying.
Reminder this Sunday July 6th, 2003 starting at Noon.
At the Lower Brule Community Center come help Tayden enjoy this day.
We don't go back to the clinic until next Monday (knock on wood). So I won't have updates on his labs until then.
Have a good week!
Friday, June 27, 2003 8:16 AM CDT
Hello!
Went to Sioux Falls yesteray and got home pretty late. He received a blood transfusion yesterday although his HGB went back up from Monday a little bit the Doctor thought that it would be a good idea since his heart rate was a little high.
WBC was 3.8
HGB was 9.1
and
Platelets 114 thousand!!!
Tayden has inspired me alot knowing all he's been through and still continues to conquer. I know theres cases out there with young children just like him and it is tough to know you can't do anything for your child but sit there and although your trembling inside you hold together.
Hope to see on you July 6th it starts at noon in the LB Community Center.
Thanks to everyone who's making this day possible!!!!!
Monday, June 23, 2003 12:43 AM CDT
I'm so thankful that he is feeling better and to see his labs go up.
Thanks for coming to his site to check on him, your prayers and support really make a difference.
Thursday, June 19, 2003 3:32 PM CDT
Went to the clinic today to check on his blood count.
It didn't change from Monday, but I just wanted to make sure that it hadn't dropped. HGB was 9.3
WBC was 3.7
And his platelets were 103 thousand they dropped a little from Monday, but at least they are still up there.
We are going out ot town tomarrow, so we will check back in on Monday.
Have A Wonderful Weekend!!
Monday, June 16, 2003 12:23 AM CDT
Today good news!
Tayden's platelets were 108 thousand!!!! What you think of that it's pretty amazing.
His WBC was 3.5
His HGB was 9.3
We'll see what his Doc say's she wants to do with his HGB he'' probaly need a transfusion within' the next week.
He hasn't received a platelet transfusion since 5-22-03 that is the greatest news beside's his platelets being way up there on THERE OWN!
Prayer's are strong, keep praying!
Thursday, June 12, 2003 5:19 PM CDT
Well we just keep getting good news everytime we go to get his labs.
We went to Sioux Falls to see his Doctor and to our suprise.
His Platelets are 87 (Prayer's are strong,keep praying).
We are really happy to see his levels so good. We couldn't ask for anything else.
His WBC was 3.3 which put his ANC at 396.
His HGB was 10.5
Tayden was getting labs done twice a week with one trip to see his Doctor, today she said it could be moved to every two weeks to go see her and his labs will only be drawn once a week or if anything came up.
Thanks For Visiting His page, sign the guest book plz.
Monday, June 9, 2003 3:05 PM CDT
We went to get his labs today.
His WBC was 4.2 and his HGB was 10.5
HIS PLATELET LEVEL WAS 77 THOUSAND.
Tayden's Platelets seem to be inching their way up, we are so happy to see his counts going the way they are.
I still can't get over it the last few times his labs were drawn it shown an increase in his platelets.
Other than that Tayden is feeling good no words can express how it is to see him being his old self (yeah I know he's only 2 going on 3) but before the hospital and all this.
Prayer's are strong
Have A Good Evening!
Thursday, June 5, 2003 5:22 PM CDT
PLATELETS, PLATELETS, PLATELETS, PLATELETS
We went to see his Doctor today and guess what his levels are.
Today his platelets were 61 thousand (yes,yes,yes) that's so great to see. His WBC 3.2, his HGB 11.3 and they are just amazed with his progress.
Other than that Tayden is feeling pretty good.
Wednesday, June 4, 2003 10:59 AM CDT
Hope your all having a good week? Tayden is doing great he keeps saying "I'm so happy to be home". Tomarrow we are off to Sioux Falls for our weekly trip. I'm praying his counts are stable and it gives us a chance to say hello to our friends in Sioux Falls. I bet the S.V Ped's floor miss Tayden they were like family, always helping and very nice. And the ICU nurse's well they were something else, one of them we won't give any names (NICHOLE your really cool) brought Tayden some "cheese popcorn and some other stuff" he had two nurses named Nichole he thought that was pretty neat. If any of the SV staff read this Thank's Again for everything you'll always be in our thoughts and in our hearts. Oh yeah well who could forget Childlife they were a big help Tayden knew which ones worked with CL as soon as they would walk in the door he would say "I want some different toys" he grew to like Paula alot I think sometimes she would have to hide so when we was out walking he couldn't find her. He would always ask for her or check the office for her. And of course the SV Children's Clinic staff (Nancy, Dawn, Carrie) and the Doctor's (Dr.Stout, and Dr Tancabelic.)
~Prayer's Are Stong, So Keep Believing~
Monday, June 2, 2003 12:24 AM CDT
~Happy Monday~
Well guess what his platelets today were a strong 55 thousand (is he impressive or what). His WMC was 2.9 and his HGB was 11.6 (although he did need a transfusion last Thursday). Thing's are still maintaining the way they are supposed to. Anyone see Tayden on the telethon this weekend he was on Sunday morning at 9:10 a.m it was only for a few seconds but it was still exciting. Be sure to sign the guest book, love to hear from ya.
We would like to invite anyone who can make it here to his birthday next month, he'll be turning three on July 6th.
Prayers are strong.
Hello there I hope your all having a nice weekend? We are still in shock after getting the last lab results, but that's what we want them to do is start making on their own. Anyone who has information on Severe Aplastic Anemia please if you have time email it to me.
Prayer's are strong.
~Thank-You Platelets~
Tayden's trip to Sioux Falls was great he needed some blood but we were shocked to find out from Tuesday his platelets being 45 thousand (NO TRANSFUSION SINCE LAST THURSDAY and his platelets today were 56 thousand they went up all by themselves in two days. This is to exciting to explain but this is one step forward and we are loving it. His other counts also went up on their own his WBC today was 4.0 and his HGB was 8.1 theres a correction from last week his ANC was 300 hundred something so from last Thursday to Tuesday it went from six thousand something all the way down to 300. Today his ANC was 480. His Doctor said she will still hold off on the shot he's been off it for two weeks now after being on it for a week and showing a jump. His WBC and ANC are down but the doc said she expects to see a little drop but since he has shown some improvement on his own she'll wait on the shot just a little bit longer. Thanks Everyone the prayer's, support and strength is wonderful.
Prayer's is the most powerful thing you can have.
We went to the clinic today and to check his labs. His Platelets after being transfused last Thursday took him way up there(don't ever know what they are after being transfused) but today they were 45 thousand and his white blood count went back down after being off the shot for almost week his WBC was 2.9 and his HGB was 7.7 so on Thursday when we go to Sioux Falls my guess is they will transfuse him with blood. Other than some new scrapes on his knees from falling he's doing good. Thank-You for signing the Guest Book. We love you all.
Thursday we went to see his Doctor and she decided that she would quit the GCSF shot and see how he does on his own. The shot seemed to help his WBC area because his ANC (an abbreviation for Absolute Neutrophil Count) was 6120. After a week of doing the shot it took it up to 2700 which was great in and out of the hospital in never went passed 318 it was 10 or 121 or 300 so to see his ANC go so high is a step forward. His Platelet count was 28 thousand and since we are 2 1/2 hours away from his Doctor she ordered a transfusion for him just to be safe. His HGB was 9.5 the blood goes awhile before he needs a transfusion. His WBC was 10.2. We are so glad to be home though, thanks for all your support and prayers. Tayden is a very active 2 1/2 year old and I wouldn't of even known about ANC and all the other counts that are taken so you could say I have a little knowledge about this, but I'm still looking for more on Severe Aplastic Anemia. Feel free to email me with Question's, but be sure to sign the guest book. Have A Wonderful Weekend.
Tayden was diagnoised on March 6th,2003. After being away from home for over two month's we finally got to return home this past Thursday. We will still have to drive 2 1/2 hour drive to go see his Doctor every Thursday, but at least we are home. He did a drug therpy to get to where he is today, there was no BM match since he's a only child. Transfusions supported him from March 6th when he was admitted until they did the drug therpy on April 2nd. He still takes medicine and is also on the GCSF shot to help up his immune system. He still needs transfusions but at least not everyday, his body spread them out to just about a week. We go to the Doctor on Thursday and I will keep writing here to let you know how he is.
