On December 26, 2013 I found out that I have lobular invasive carcinoma in my left breast. The weeks since then have been a whirlwind of tests and doctor appts. According to the MRI, I have two tumors in my left breast; my right breast and lymph nodes are clear. On February 11th I'll have a mastectomy removing my left breast and the initial phase of reconstructive surgery. I am the proud mother of two amazing kids, Kathleen, 22 yrs old and Garrett, 19 yrs old. I am a grateful member of the fantastic family of faith at First Baptist Church, where I've learned so much about love and life. I am the Executive Director of an incredible nonprofit, OnTrack Financial Education & Counseling where I've been on staff for 20 years. I have the honor of working with a fabulous staff and board full of dedicated and caring professionals. On this adventure of surviving breast cancer, I am carried along and sustained by the love, encouragement, and support of my family and friends. THANK YOU ALL!
