Hey Josh- We will never forget this day 911 /2001.
It was the morning after your surgery @ VCH Nashville TN.
This day will always hold a special place in our heart.
You came through your surgery & have been NED for 9 years.

Many.... way to many lost their lives that day. We will
never forget this day & will rememeber those love ones that
was left behind without their family or a friend.

~ Happy 18th Birthday~

Hey Josh- I am not only hoping but praying that
this year will be a GREAT year for you. First of
all I wish you good health & am thankful for your
8 years in remission.

This will be the last year you will be seeing your
doctor at East TN Children Hospital. I hope you
will always keep up the work for research to help
find a cure for childhood cancer. Your cans & tabs
project for Ronald McDonald House Knoxville TN. I
see how hard you have to work with this project, but
then I know you would not trade places with any of
those children, because you have been there & spent
7 months in RMH during your treatment.

Another great thing about being 18. Your senior year.
May this year be a year you won't ever forget & friends
you will keep for a life time.

Another Great chapter this year in your,Brittany &
your Mom's life. Getting to see your house being
build & ever getting to help with some of the work.
(wow block work was a tough job)

Ever since you were a little boy you wanted a outside
dog. What better gift could you have ask for than Anna.
She will look good sitting in the front seat of your truck.

Eighteen is a special age. There will be a lot of doors
that will close for you, but there will be many GREAT
doors that will open for you as you begin that jounrey
into your young adult life.

~Happy 18th Birthday ~ "Tough times don't last, but
Tough people do" just remember you have climb that
mountian.
There is nothing you & God can't handle.

Keep your Faith. Stay Strong- God Speed.

Our Love- grandmother & granddad Dailey

Hey Josh~I can't help from thinking where you were
8 years ago tonight Sept 10/2001. VCH Nashville TN.
recovering from a long hard surgery. You have so much
to be thankful for & I know you are.

You show that in doing your project for Ronald McDonald
House Knoxville TN. It's a lot of hard work doing the
cans & tabs & taking them to the recycling center every
few weeks. But it's all worth while. You know you have
been there. (7 months @ RMH while you were doing your tx.)

Granddad & I enjoy our summer break this summer.
It was a real treat getting to go to the beach
(St. Joe FL) with You,Brittany & Mommy.
That was really fun & I hope it will be a annual thing .

So thankful you are doing good & enjoying each day &
living life to the fullest. God has a plan for you~

Faith, NBHOPE & Cure- Love you always~
Grandmother & Granddad

PS: we also remember what we woke up to the
next morning 9/11/01. We will always remember
the ones that lost their lives.

Happy (late) Birthday Josh,

I do have a good reason for being late. I spent last week at church camp and had a blast being with a bunch of campers and staff enjoying a week full of God's richest blessings.

I hope your birthday was, and continues to be, a great blessing for you as well as family and friends.

I trust God will continue to walk with you on this journey and that you will fully allow him to guide your path.

In Christian love,

Josh my son Jonathan was diagnosed with NB when he was six years old. He is now 16 and just starting driving. He has some other issues as a result of his treatment but he has the most incredible spirit and doesn't let these medical issues get him down. Looking at your picture I can see that you are the same type of guy. I'm sure your family is so proud of you as we are with our son Jon. Hi,
I found this page through another caringbridge site. Please we need your help. My cousin's son Salvatore Vanni is battling Neuroblastoma. The disease has just progressed and he is back on a very high dose of chemo as of yesterday. His parents have set up a foundation "www.mysticforcefoundation". It is set up for research on Neuroblastoma to find a cure. There are no administration fees and it is tax deductible. We are having a walkathon in the North Miami Beach, Florida area next Sunday, January 25th. We need to get the word out and donations in. Please go to the website and see all about it. We must find a cure for this horrible disease. Any help you could give in getting the word out would be so appreciated. So glad to you hear your story and how well you are doing. Please please a cure must be found.

A New Year’s Prayer

May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.

Happy New Year!

God Bless!

Hi there!

Lisa Lowrey, Kambryn's mom, and I have set up a Vanderbilt Children's Hemonc Forum for our families, past and present, to get together and chat. Our hope is that we can have a place for families going through active treatment to get to know each other... families whose kids are done with treatment can talk about what's next and families with angels to connect for friendship and support. We also hope to start raising awareness for Childhood Cancer here in Middle Tennessee as well as help the families going through active treatment. Basically this is one solid place to connect and hopefully help find a cure for this horrible cancer that has drawn our families together. Check it out and let us know what you think. If you have any ideas or questions we would love to hear them! Also, please feel free to pass this info along to other Vanderbilt families... I know I have missed several, so the more we get the word out the better the forum will be! We hope to see you over there!

Everyone who has a child with cancer I need your help. Can you please type up a brief, one page paper telling your Childs story and how the diagnoses changed the life of the whole family.

Through a friend of a friend I am going to print each and every story and they will be hand delivered to Oprahs producer in the hopes of getting her to do a show on Childhood Cancer.

People need to know what us parents go through trying to get medications approved and treatments through the insurance company.

How sick our kids are, what one child with cancer does to the whole family, what the siblings have to go through along with what it does emotionally and financially to the family. The side effects our children have to live with the rest of their lives, the secondary cancers some of the kids will get, with no where to turn.

We are now dealing with the horrible side effects of radiation with no relief in sight for my daughter who was treated for EWING'S SARCOMA (bone cancer), but no one cares what happens to our children except the handful of others who are going down the same road as we are.

So please write your story and E-mail it to me at gonikki501@yahoo.com if you can please send a picture of before and after diagnoses if there's space on the page.

Thank you all and hopefully this will be the beginning of Gold ribbons everywhere. Please pass this on to who ever would like to participate. Please have your story in by Oct.19th.

THE GOLD RUSH!

Hi,

I am the Dad of AJ, a 14 year old cancer victim. I wanted to make you aware (maybe again) and enlist your help for the Cure Childhood Cancer petition! The GREAT news is that CureSearch, LIVESTRONG and Alex’s Lemonade Stands have ALL written about the Petition on their websites! And TX Children’s and DUKE have both allowed us to setup paper versions inside the hospitals! WE ARE MAKING HEADWAY and are at over 11,000 signatures! But we need your help again. If you can please make your readers aware, email it around again, and give just a little publicity, I think we can make this happen!

Thanks again,

Your wonderful grandmother sent me a picture of you yesterday and I think you look wonderful. You have grown into such a "hunk". I can't believe you are ready to get your driver's license. It made me feel so good knowing that you still have "Wayne's cup". We always called it the magic cup because it helped him swallow pills too. Josh,
My name is Kristie Foust and I am pretty sure that I had you in daycare at Grace Baptist Afterschool Program. I had cancer while I worked there. Shortly after, you were diagnosed with cancer. I brought you a gift bag with some things to do with and an Atlanta hat. I don't know if you remember at all, but it is great to see you are doing so well. I have wondered about you many times over the year. I read about you from Savannah France's caringbridge page. I am so glad things are good and to see all the work you are doing to help others.

Thank you for visiting Lucas' website. It's encouraging to read success stories as yours. Lucas was diagnosed at 9 months old and we were told that he would have a 90% chance of event-free survival and at 2 years out, he would be considered "cured". Lucas fell in that small percentage and progressed. It's been nearly 3 years and we're battling the same beast. Some days are grim, at best, but to read stories such as yours gives us hope. I look forward to days when Lucas can ATV and do all the things normal teenage boys do. Happy belated birthday Josh. I look forward to reading about many more birthdays and road trips...that you'll be able to drive.

They don't call Tennessee "The Volunteer State" for nothing. It is people like you who epitomize the slogan. My dad and his family lived in Knoxville while they were growing up and Dad graduated from UTK as did I! There is nothing like BIG ORANGE ~ unless it is your lemonade. I think you are terrific to give so much of your self to help fund such a wonderful cause. I certainly hope the day will come soon when a total cure for Cancer will be found. We are getting there, now (you are a good example of this) but more is needed. Thank you for a job well done and for being such an inspiration.

Dear Friends in the Faith,
I just read your posting on Jonathan's guestbook and clicked to your site. I'm so proud of you for continuing the fight. In a one year span, my little Serenity was able to come home for 9 days to enjoy the life a little girl should live. On the night before returning to the hospital for her second/third transplant I sat up a lemonaid stand in the driveway for her. She made 16 dollars in about an hour. To help with the transition of being back in... our first day I sat the stand up outside of her room...I always called it our porch...She brought in another hefty chunk of change. It gave my little two year old so much satisfaction. We called it a Cup For a Cause... Until your guestbook entry I was not familiar with Alex's Lemonaid Stand. What a beautiful idea and so much fun it brought to Serenity.

Unfortunately, Serenity lost her courageous fight, but her spirit will continue to live in all of us she touched so tenderly with her laughter, her heart, her humor, and her love.

I applaud your strength and determination. What a wonderful family you must have.

I came across your webpage on another site, and I am glad I did. I can't tell you what an inspiration it is to read about your journey. My son was diagnosed with IV Neuroblastoma in 2004, at age 4. He is currently doing the antibody treatment at Sloan. He developed HAMA after seven rounds. I was upset about this until I read your story.
We'll be checking on you from time to time. Thank you for being such an inspiration for all of us still in the early stages.
God Bless,

story to share & we are so glad you are willing to say
you want all the other children to be cure like you.
I loved it how Josh West (wbir) edit your story.
He started and ended with your poem.

"I survived Neuroblastoma"
I survived it all, it's all behind me
It's out of my mind
Hopefully it won't come back and find me.

Life without cancer is as great as it can be
I can only thank my good Lord for watching over me.

Now that I am done, I am happy as can be
I want to thank the doctors and nurses that
took good care me.

I thank God for the miracle he's done
I thank him daily when the day is done.

How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?
You open the door, put in the giraffe, and shut the door.
How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?
You open the door, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant, and shut the door.

The elephant. He was stuck in the fridge!

Hi again Josh! Just talked to your grandmom Lou- she is a wondrful woman. You seem to have a great family and many friends that are supporting you. That in itself is a gift. I saw the articles about your fundraisers and I am enlightened by your determination and dedication. More people in this world should be like you. You are one-in-a-million!!! I just wanted to say that we (the owners) of Afleet Alex are being given a special Eclipse Award recognizing our participation with the Alex's Lemonade Stand and pediatric cancer. It has been my honor to help spread the word about special kids like you and get others to fund your search for the cure. This will be the best award that I could ever receive.

I am proud of you- I can only imagine how your family feels...I was in Kentucky last weekend and saw Alex for the first time since September. He gave me a nip for you!!!

My daugher Emily (18 yrs. old now) has been in remission about 14 months. We also lived at Ronald House in 2003 for 9 months. We probably were there at the same time. Hey Josh (and family) I just stumbled acrossed your website and wanted to let you know that my son Jonathan was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma back on March 26, 1999. Jonathan was six years old at the time, old because most children are diagnosed as infants. He underwent almost a year of chemotherapy, radiation and resection of the tumor. All of his treatment was done under Dr. Stephen Grupp, MD PhD at Children's Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Jonathan just celebrated his 13th birthday on July 26th. He will be entering 8th grade in September. We go once a year to CHOP for visits to Oncology and Endocrinology so that they can check his progress. So far the only problems he is having as a result of the treatment is a slight hearing loss and he is a little on the short side. He has problems with certain foods not agreeing with his digestive system, but otherwise he seems to be fine. I hope your recovery is goiong well and remember to maintain a great attitude and always find time to laugh and smile. Laughter is the best medicine !!!!

Dear Josh, "Happy 13th Birthday" The devotional from
Upper Room for June 10/2005....it seem it was written
just for you. I do think God speaks to us through
writers like this.
"Stay on the Path" By leaning on Christ and taking
him at his word, you receive comfort during your
time of struggle so you can become a source of hope
and encourgement to others who are going through
similar experiences.
God uses the valleys of your life to strenghen your
faith so you can help others through difficult times.
He has a plan for you. There will be many mountain tops,
but don't forget to stay on the path & I hope & pray
that God will always be # one in your life.

It was a grand day today, Out to eat @Conner's with
good cup cakes & ice cream afterward at your house.
WOW...what a birthday present !!! Revo RC Nitro truck.
Godspeed, drive it safe in the fields.

We are asking again that our prayers will be answer
that you will have clean scans & test wed. & thurs.
this week.

Happy 13th Birthday. We are looking forward to you

Hi Josh,
Your grandmother found my daughter's site and posted on our guestbook. We live in Knoxville too. My daughter, Bethany, has Lupus, Epilepsy, and JRA. She will be in 6th grade at Carter Middle School this coming year. She was just released to go back to school in the fall, so she is real happy. I wish we would have known about your Lemonade Stand, we would have came and visited.
What you are doing is so great. It amazes me how many children I have found on CB right here in our area. East Tennessee Children's Hospital has really done a wonderful job for us, as well as Vanderbilt, but mainly Children's. Your site is really encouraging, and we are happy to meet you as well as your grandmother. If you have a chance, stop by and read about my daughter, Bethany
Maybe one day all of the families on Caringbridge from our area can meet and have lunch at Children's together.
We'll be back and check on you soon. Hope you had a great 4th of July, and didn't get completely rained out. We got almost all the way through our fireworks before the rain began!

Dear Josh, Four years ago today June 5/01 when you
were dx. with neuroblastoma IV. Only 8 years old &
not knowing what was ahead for you. Boy.....you face
each treatment with great courage. You had to turn your
thoughts from playing and just being a little boy, to
learning all about chemo, surgery, stem cell transplant,
radiation,acctuane,3f8 antibodies .You knew every pill
by name that you had to take. They tell us there is a
class room full of children that's dx.every year
with cancer. You were one of those unlucky children.
We wish it had never happen, but it did and I feel
there will be many good things that will come your
way & you will be a much wiser young man as you will
soon be a teenager.

I am happy that you wanted to take on this project of
collection tabs from your home RMH. You spent seven

Josh and family,
I happened upon your website through another site. We are very familiar with East Tennesse Children's Hospital. We were able to do some of Ryan's chemotherapy there because we are from Knoxville. He had mainly Dr. Pais. Ryan has retinoblastoma and most of his treatment is in Memphis at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We have several dear friends battling neuroblastoma. Josh has an amazing story. We pray for continued healing for him. We'll check back on you later.

Hi Josh and family. I am Sydney's aunt (her dads sister) and I am so glad that my family has had the opportunity to get to know you and share in your long journey. I am even more glad that Josh has done so remarkably well and pray that he continues to stay in remission and lead a long and healthy life. If anyone deserves it, he does. It brings me a lot of comfort to know you are corresponding with Rhonda. You can never imagine how much she has stressed to me just hearing your stories and knowing you are out there caring and praying for our little Sydney has brought her so much comfort when she needed it the most. That really means a lot to me and my family. I will continue to check in on Josh and would also love to meet all of you some time when I am in TN. Josh, you are a very courageous and handsome young man and I am proud of you. Be careful on the ATV !!

Hey Josh, my name is Krista, my son Lance (13) also has stage IV Neuroblastoma. He has underwent multiple surgeries,6 heavy rounds of chemo, one chemo blast before transplant, stemcell transplant, multiple other ordeals, and he is now undergoing radiation. He is having a really tough time with it. It is making him very sick to his tummy. Well your grandma had wrote my son on his site and asked what kind of dogs we have, well we got Lance "the incredible hulk" back in May. He is a Jack Russell Terrier. and boy is he lively. Well last Wednesday we surprised him with his wish again, we got him two more. (females this time). We are all having a great time with them, and thank heavens they all get along finally. The girls names are Trixi and Jade, one is solid white, and the other is 99% white with a complete black ear on her left side. They are really great companions for Lance and his brother and sisters. I really hope everything continues to go well for you, you and your family are in our prayers.

Hi Josh - we've never met, but your grandma signed my son's guestbook and we've been checking in on you ever since. It's funny because my son Zach loves riding the 4 wheeler and he's 12 and he's fighting Relapsed NB - so you boys have a lot in common - and it's WONDERFUL NEWS that you are in remission!!!!! I can not tell you how happy I am for you and your family and it is only because God's watching out for you and made sure that you will serve your purpose that he has for you - I have a feeling that it's going to be something amazing. Always praying for you!

Attention all Josh fans: the Childhood Cancer Recognition 2005 Calendar, with Brittany's (July) picture in, is now available at

This address

It is priced at $20.01 because you get to send a coupon to your friends after you've bought it, where if they spend more than $20, they get $5 off....that's the reason for the bizarre price!

$5 from the sale of each calendar goes directly towards buying items for caringbridge children. We have actually just sent a poster to Connor out of the money, so it is benefitting the kids close to our hearts! For information on what we have bought so far for the kids, just Email me...I'll be happy to let you know!

Hi Josh's Family,
Ran across your web site while visiting Shelby Prescott. So glad to hear that someone has beaten this monster like you seem to be doing. We hope to join the "survivors club" one day....we are still in treatment...ours sounds similar to the protocol you were on chemo, transplants, radiation, cis-retinoic acid, but as far asd we know, we are not up for the immune therapy. Maybe your mom can tell us more about that'cause you look wonderful.
Again, congrats on your survival against this monster!

Hi Josh and Sherry-
Lou visited Kenny's page and left your web address. The fund raisers sounded like a lot of fun. Lou told us that you too are holding a lemonade stand in June. Way to go!! Kenny has a four wheeler too but much smaller as he is only 3. When he saw yours Josh, he said "Can I ride it?" Kenny's older sisters (10/11) love to ride too and like your wheels. Best of luck with all you do. Never give up!! We are glad to hear that things are going well.

The birds were a-squawking and just bugging me in general to send this greeting for the New Year. New Years Eve they will be safely tucked in their cages, with a loud air purifier running so they don't hear all the fireworks in our neigbhorhood. We are a "stay at home" family on New Years, because so many of our neighbors put on spectacular fireworks displays. But that doesn't help with the birds, that's for sure! So, as we roll in this new year, we are going to be thinking about you, our long distance friend, and oh, yes, the dogs and cats just reminded me they want to be included in our wish, too. So, here goes. Happy New Year from: (there'll be a quiz on this later, ha ha ha!)

Sport the collie, Murphy the Shih-Tzu, Esmerelda the Maine Coon cat, Lex the black cat, O'Malley the grey and white cat, Charlotte the himalayan, Tripoli the Yellow Nape Amazon, Pompeii the Severe Macaw, Dasani the Blue-headed Pionus, Mokuba the Jenday, and Mirage the Congo African Grey...(all 11) and Sam the 6th grader, Ben the 4th grader, Cathie and Mike. Whew. By the time you get through all these, it will be 2005!

Remember, you can click on the photo to see the birds on their website. (They told me THEY own it now. Pushy, aren't they?)

Sam and Ben are certainly creative, aren't they?! They were clowning around and with a simple hat, paper towels for a beard, and lots of pillows...emphasize LOTS....they came up with these costumes that they wanted to share with you. I don't know, I think Ben (on the right) looks more like a very well fed Sumo wrestler!

It was fun to see them waddling around, and FORGET trying to sit down...they plopped right off the chairs. (That is, the chairs they managed to even make contact with. With so much stuffing, they couldn't see where they were aiming and usually ended up on the floor. They didn't feel a thing with so much padding, though!) They eventually gave up, so the costumes weren't on very long, needless to say. Thank goodness, I was worried about my pillows' stuffing!

Well, our flock certainly is getting interesting. We got Dasani, the Blue Headed Pionus just a few weeks ago, and now we've added our fifth (and final) member. I felt bad for Dasani, because he is smaller than our amazon, macaw, and Congo African Grey....so we got him a pal! Meet Mokuba, aka "Moki." (Mokuba is Kaiba's younger brother on YuGiOh) Moki has such a brilliant yellow! He is a Jenday and absolutely adores Dasani. He has pretty blue and purple tail feathers, too. They wanted you to know they're thinking about you!

Dearest Josh,
Since you have paved the way for me (grandmother)
I am going to hang on to your "Courage", how brave
you were through each treatment you had to face.
Your "Strength" you had to tough it out as each shot
your mom would give you. Your "Wisdom" knowing if you
could swallow those pills, NB would soon be out of
your body. Your "Faith" will carry me through my journey
of breast cancer. You have climb your mountain and pave
a path for me to follow. We know what cancer can not do.
Cancer is so limited, It cannot cripple "Love", It cannot
shatter "Hope",It cannot corrode "Faith",It cannot destroy
"Peace",It cannot kill "Friendship",It cannot invade the
"Soul",It cannot silence "Courage",It cannot steal eternal
"Life",It cannot conquer the "Spirit",It cannot suppress
"Memories", It cannot keep us from serving our "God"
and giving him the "Glory". Loving you always,
Grandmother Lou dx.breast cancer 11/3/03

Happy Halloween from us goblins and ghouls over in Houston! (Well, okay, Ben is a YuGi and Sam is a ninja!) We are thinking about you. It was a steamy 80 degrees tonight, so all the witches, frankensteins, mummies and whatnots were pretty hot trotting around the neighborhoods. We wanted to wish you a great evening! Sherry and Josh,
WOW, what can I say-Josh looks GREAT!!! Putting on some weight, growing so big and looking so grown up. I am impressed and so happy for you all. Life is good! Love the puppy! What is it? Looks like he loves Josh. Glad you all got a bit of a break last weekend. I LONG for a vacation. We have actually scheduled our next trip to NY for a few extra days so we can enjoy the city at Christmas time and just escape from home. We are bringing Rob's sister to help with the kids and are going to try and enjoy some quality family time. Plan on checking out the tree at Rockafeller and just messing around in the city for a few extra days...sad that this will be our vacation but it will be better than nothing and we are really looking forward to it. Payton will just have a CT scan in Dec. It is nice to be getting away from all the scanning. Glad you all are doing well and we miss you.

This little cutie just dazzled me when I visited the bird nursery..so we've added a FIFTH bird to our flock! I couldn't believe the sizzling blue coming through..and he's only TWO MONTHS old! He's a boy (they did a DNA blood test) and he wobbled onto my finger and said, "Dah bop?" My heart went "pit pat" and the rest is history. I was lucky, because these guys aren't that common. This breeder has only had one other one...five years ago!

We are known for our unusual and original bird names. Well, this little guy is a BLUE HEADED PIONUS. So, meet DASANI. You know, like the BLUE bottled water by Pepsi? And guess what his nickname is? SONIC, (derived from the "sani") another BLUE item, ie, the Sega blue mascot? (think video games) How perfect!

Dasani will have a hot blue/purple head, it's awesome! But what you'd love the most is their smell. They have a fruity smell! Dasani smells like a cherry-orange mix! Well, we just wanted to share our baby news with you. Dasani will be in the nursery for another month or so. Bye for now, more bird pics coming soon.

Hi Josh! Instead of posting my birds' pictures, this time I thought we'd go wild. This is one of 300 pictures I took. Did you know Indochinese tigers LOVE to swim? They do. We watched these two for about an hour at the Houston Zoo. They have a huge area to lounge around in, and a wide "river" to swim in. The Houston Zoo is known for its natural habitats...some are so good, you can't see the animals. We never did spot the leopards (no pun intended.) which were hidden up in their rocky area.

Here's some fact about these tigers for you! They are found in mainly in Thailand, but also Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Myanmar, Jamaica, Virgin Islands (U.S.)
They like forest but also hills and mountainous areas. Their stripes are narrower than the Bengal tiger..but folks OFTEN get these guys mixed up! And guess how much they weigh when they are born? TWO ounces! The mom usually has 2-4 babies and by a year and a half old, they are skilled enough hunters to say, "See ya later!"

Click on the picture to go to the Houston Zoo page ..I've linked you the page where you can click on any of the mammals and see great pictures and facts. (I spent about an hour surfing the page myself! You can also go to birds, fish, reptile pages, etc.) Enjoy!

Josh -

I was in the post office today and saw a stamp called "Heros of 2001." I kinda expected to see your picture! Your family and friends (some of whom you'll never know) have prayed so long for your health. Please remember always that God doesn't cause brokenness, but God brings wholeness out of brokenness. I am so thankful that you, and your family (and me!), have been made whole through your illness. I hope school is going great for you this year - it has to feel good to be back to "normal." You are an amazing kid - thank you (and Grandmother Lou) for allowing me to be a part of this part of your life!

My yellow nape amazon, Tripoli, thought you'd like a picture of a bird in your guestbook. She is a show off! Did you know she she sings Yankee Doodle, Saints Come Marching In, and Old Mac Donald Had A Farm? She also says 150 different things, such as (wolf whistle) "Wow! You're a ten!" Other things are "You're my baby," and "I love you" and "Whatcha doing?" and "I want outside!" She also tells me, "I want food." She also does MY laugh then says, "You're funny!" The last time I corrected her singing, she told me, "There ya go!" like SHE was teaching ME!

We are working on "Uh oh. I taste like chicken." Aren't I mean? Hee hee hee. Total, I have four birds. Tripoli, Pompeii (a severe macaw) Callao (a Half Moon Conure) and Mirage (a Congo African grey) They keep me busy! We're all thinking about you Josh!

Dear Josh,
Won't this be a day to remember "Lunch for Life" when
our family & friends gave $5.00(some more) and ask
five of their true trustworthy friends to give and
pass it on so research can find a cure for Neuroblastoma.
Without our family and friends this could never happen,
but with great faith and just $5.00 + five true family/
friends and pass it on, research has a great future for
you Josh and all the other NB children. How can we
ever thank our family & friends enough for giving to
this great cause, but I am so glad we
invited them to Lunch, because they are
helping find a cure for all our children.
Josh you have given us strength and courage as you
have battle your long hard journey.
Thanks to all for giving to "Lunch for Life"

Maybe one of these days you, your mom or your g'mom will write to tell me more encouraging things about how well you are doing. I am a 4th grade school teacher,so I am definately interested in hearing your thoughts on the different things that my baby will have to undergo. You will certainly have a unique perspective. Hi Josh; My Name is Deborah Newcomb and I have known your grandmother since I was a little girl. Your Mom and my cousin Donna Bell were good friends in High School so this is another way I know your Mom. My mom has been and still gets her Hair fixed at your grandmothers house every Saturday morning. Your Grandmother and I are E-mail buddies and she keeps me informed of you Quest. I met you one day at Wal-mart but you probably don't remember it. You are a handsome fellow and You are in my prayers and you are really a brave soldier...Happy Belated Birthday!!! And I hope you are ready to go back to school soon!!!!

Hi Josh!! Happy belated birthday. We have not met, but we have been introduced to you by your grandparents, Skip & Lou. Tomorrow, July 22nd, is my birthday but it was about 52 years ahead of yours. We have a son who is fighting cancer, metastatic malignant melanoma. We were in NYC at MSKCC only about three weeks ago so we know right where you are. We hope you have a good trip.

Hey Josh,

Just a quick happy birthday wish from your south florida buddies. I hope you received the card we sent. We sent it a little bit late, sorry about that...but I've got a good excuse! It has been so hot down here that I couldn't get from my house to the mailbox! Ok, just kidding. Would you believe that my dog ate the first card and I had to go get another one? Ok...you got me, I just sent it late!!! :)

Happy Birthday,

Hi Josh! I just e-met your grandma this week! My great-niece, Stacey, has NB and is doing well, almost five years after her chemo, radiation and stem cell transplant. She did not have surgery. Stacey is 9 and she lives near Orlando. She was diagnosed when she was 3.5, but has really done well! It sounds like you're doing well, too. Will you be able to see the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty while you're in NY in December? I hope so. Take care and know that your grandma's new friend will be praying for you and your family! Peace,Deb

Hi Josh,

Wow! What a grandma you have -- but I'm sure you already know that! We love the pictures of you with "Scoop" (do bid boys like you watch "Bob the Builder")? Hang in there...3F8 is tough, but we hope you're able to do some fun things while you're in NYC too. Have you been to Toys R Us or the Little Shop of Plaster (just down the street from RMH) yet? They're both awesome! Hope we get to meet you sometime soon!
