Becca, my prayers go out to you and your beautiful daughter, May the peace of God that passes all understanding cover you and consume you and your family. I, like you have been down the road of always wanting to be a different color and have suffered the results of my prolonged exposure to the sun. Although I haven't experienced it quite to the extent you have I empathize with you. I recently discovered a scripture that seems to fit your and my situation, John 11:25-26
New International Version (NIV)
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” May the rest of your days be abundant, if you know what I mean.

Hi Miss Becca and Family,
I am so thankful that you are feeling much better and that you are back to school! I was also hit hard with the flu for two weeks so I know how crummy you were feeling! Becca, you are a inspiration to me... you are such a fighter and you never let anything stand in your way! You and your family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers! I love you kiddo... take care and continue to get well!
Love, Shelley

I hadn't checked in lately, and am so sorry that Becca, of all people, has caught that flu. Understand that the flu that is going around (many here) may be a different variety than the flu shot that was administered earlier. Know of both adults and kids who have been hit by it. Yet, someone like Becca, would be especially vulnerable. I pray she will continue to improve and the Lord will protect the 3 of you from it as well.
Blessings and thoughts from

For decades now, minimally conscious people have been all but written off by the medical establishment, warehoused in nursing homes, with little hope of recovery. But as CNN's Anderson Cooper reports, incredible new discoveries are changing the way doctors view these people.

It turns out some may have been misdiagnosed and may be more aware than previously thought. What's even more surprising is that after receiving the popular sleeping pill Ambien, some minimally conscious people are actually waking up.

I do not come in to Rebecca's site as often as I should, but it is so encouraging to hear all the positive improvements. My heart is broken tonight after reading about the difficulty you are having with the school system. I know how important school is to our kiddos and I know there is nothing more than wanting some 'normalcy' in life. Becca and many other kiddos deserve the right to attend school like any other child their age... it makes me angry to think that someone thinks they can take that right away just because of some needs. I will keep praying that this ordeal gets worked out soon. Like always, Becca and your family will remain in my prayers. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! Love and miss all of you!
Love,
Shelley

Rod, Steph & Becca,

We continue to pray nightly for you guys, usually three to four times a night as we're putting each of our kids to bed. We are still believing with you. We are so proud of your family for persevering and never giving up the fight or the hope. You are an inspiration to all of us. I want to encourage you and parents like you with a few URLs regarding "Team Hoyt"--the father-son ironman duo. Watch these videos with plenty of tissue, aand keep running the race...TOGETHER! God bless you guys.

Blessings to you this Lord's Day. Your most recent entry takes on such new meaning having recently seen first hand Rebecca's progress as well as everyone's faith in action.
My heart goes out to you and my prayers to our Lord for continued healing in Rebecca.

Hi Leupps -- Know it's been a long time since I went into this guestbook. However, I do check the journals, and am always glad to hear from you. It is a very looooooong road. And I pray for each of you, as well as the medical and educational staff. May you have wisdom which only our Lord can provide, so often through others. We cry w/ David in Psalm 89:46 "How long or Lord, how long?". With love and prayers -

Hi Leupp family! You don't know me, but I have known of your family since the accident. I serve on the Hoover PTO so I have been kept comprised of Rebecca's situation. However, this year, my son has the good fortune of being in class with Emily. He has asked and commented to me about the accident. Together we went through your journal to help him better understand. Your family has amazing strength and faith. We will continue to pray for you as Logan continues to get to know Emily and begins to understand the obstacles your family has endured. I pray for you today that God will put his hand upon you and bring you peace.

Stephanie,
I know we haven't been over much lately with Bree moving in with us and me changing jobs things had gotten a bit hectic. I was very proud of Katie and her "hope and dream for the future". I had no clue she had put that about Becca getting better. I have never been so proud of one of my children as I was her that day at the promotion. Unfortunately I did not get to stay till the end as the next few weeks my new job will be very demanding.
We all pray, hope and dream for the day that Becca will amaze us all by speaking and walking again. I know that God will heal her in his own time. Now I also pray that God grant us all the patience we need to wait until that time comes. As always he continues to show us that His time is not our time to choose.
Katie leaves tomorrow for Utah to spend two weeks visiting with her grandparents and family there. I will encourage her to visit, even if I can't, when she returns.

I am so very sorry that I forgot Rebecca's birthday last week :< ( -- Perhaps I was too wrapped up in my own! And, grandson, Charlie, also turns 11 this month - the 15th. I should keep better track. Hard to believe she was only 9 when this tragedy came into her life and you, the family as well.
I do have the 18th on my calendar for special time of prayer for her -- you -- and her medical folks.
Love to all of you -

How I also love that sweet little girl - but not to the extent you do, and not near the extent Jesus does!

Hi Rod & Stephanie:
Mom (Edythe) told me the great news about Becca's continued improvements. She said she was out of the coma -- totally. Although I do not often write know that you are often in my prayers. I have been teaching since adults since August. We have had our share of tragedies and blessings -- the life makers and shakers. Reading about Becca's continued recovery and the magnitude of how far around the world your little girl has reached is witness of GOD's resolve to be faithful to his children who trust him in the hours of abundant need.

May GOD continue his great works in all of you.

Hi All!

I"ve been trying to keep up with Becca through the website - glad to hear the doctors are able to help her in so many ways!! Hopefully this next surgery will be very successful and allow her to rest. Sounds like the progress on the house is wonderful!! I am praying that volunteers step forward to help - wish we still lived in Bartlesville, so I would be able to help in some way.

Hey Emily! Hope you are still reading and finding some great books to read! I'm teaching 8th grade reading now, but I'm still trying to keep up with all the new literature - now it tends to be more Young Adult. How is school going for you?? Who's class are you in?? I'm sure your teacher is enjoying you so much!! Don't forget to read aloud to Becca - she always enjoyed listening to stories and I'm sure she will enjoy hearing you read.

Take care and God Bless!

Hello Uncle Rod, Aunt Stephanie, Rebecca, and Emily,
I hopped on to your website today to see how Rebecca is doing. I am sending out much love and prayers to all of you for Rebecca's health and the ability to have surgery on Wednesday. Not a day goes by that I am not praying for her, and all of you! Almost every day I have friends and co-workers asking me of how she doing. God is a miracle worker. He will be doing wonderful things with Rebecca, I am sure of that. I know that she will come back to us in His time. She looks so beautiful. I cannot wait to catch up with her on all of what has been going on during her difficult time. Please let her know that her big cousin loves her. Please tell Emily that I love her, too. We just had 5 kittens, 4 weeks ago....maybe a furry friend would help Rebecca and the family's recovery? :) I love you all, and I will continue to pray and look forward in receiving the news that Rebecca is awake and we can all come out to Oklahoma to have a wonderful Homecoming! Take care. As hard as it may seem, Patience awaits within Him.

Much love your neice and cousin,

How encouraging to see how far Becca has come...to hear of her returning to school. I will pray for volunteers. This is a true ministry where spiritual gifts can be used in amazing ways. We are seeing it in our own church. We are already ministering to two families who would otherwise not be able to worship at all because of their children. One has been turned away from a church because the church felt they could not "handle" the needs of the child. Did Jesus not say "come"? God will provide what you need Stephanie. Pray, and I will pray with you. It may come in an amazing way. Becca is still ministering...remember that. Your volunteers do not all need to be Christians, although that makes YOUR load easier. Becca may need to reach someone for Jesus. Trust the Lord to bring the right workers to you and He will. He's done everything else so far...and done it well!!! Looking forward to exciting days ahead and even more so to the wonderful way you will give God the glory for them as you always do.

Hi to the relatives - I received your letter Rod with the website and was thrilled to read it today and see beautiful Rebecca with her eyes wide open and smiling. I printed on my home printer 35 pages of loving notes and prayers to share with Mom! I knew she would be encouraged to read all of them! Isn't the God we share and serve so wonderful to give all of us such love through so many friends and relatives. What a support you guys have! The prayers are, of course, the amazing gift that comes with each e-mail! What faith from everyone as an example to us all! We know our God hears each of them! Give Rebecca and Emily a hug from me. Ariane's cat had 5 kittens two weeks ago. I wish we could send one down for Rebecca! I'm afraid I promised her one when she left Oregon. That smile on her face told me she heard! Tell her the one I would give her is a Halloween fall kitty with orange, black and white markings. A cute calico little girl kitty.
I received the darling picture of Emily in your letter, too. Thank you! Tell her I put it in a place I can see it every day and that I miss her.
Brett is leaving tomorrow on the airplane to go to Pakistan for a month to make a video about the earthquake. Cousin Geoff got him the job and will go along with him and others from the company that Geoff works for - a new job for him, also.
Stephanie this website looks great and now that I know about it I will check in often for updates. It is exciting to know Rebecca will be able to come home soon. Little steps of progess we will gladly accept as well as big steps, too.
Love you all bunches! Hugs, Aunt Pat

Dear Stephanie and Rod,
I was very sorry to hear that Becca has been so sick and back in the hospital. I'm thankful for this website. I check it often, so we know your specific needs and can pray for you. You are in our thoughts and prayers often. "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills. From whence cometh my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." Ps 121 1,2. I am praying for healing for Rebecca and for God to give you strength for each day.

Hi Rod and Stephanie~

Our prayers continue to be answered with this little princess. I am so thankful that she is out on the floor and not in the PICU. I know this has been a long and bumpy road for your family and especially for Becca, and I know how hard it is to stay positive. Please know that all of us here in Oregon are staying positive and we are sending prayers your way everyday! You have touched so many lives out here it will be impossible to forget about your family. I have seen you during the worst times and I know that your family is so strong in faith...that is what will keep you going. Don't lose your faith, if you ever need a 'boost' please don't hesitate to ask! Please send all my love and best wishes to my girl and tell her that I love her very much! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. The picture of her and I is on my nursing binder along with the one of her right before the accident...I think of her numerous times a day, she will always be in my heart forever! I love you guys!

Rod & Stephanie,
I am happy to read that Becca is already getting better. I was very worried after you left the house today. My thoughts were with you as you drove down to OKC. I was also a bit worried when Rhonda told us Becca had been taken to the hospital.
Even though Becca is back on the vent for a few days, it is good that she was responsive to you when you arrived. I am sure she was very comforted to know that Mommy and Daddy were there. I know Becca will get better and be ready to have Katie and Kelsey come visit her again soon.
The work came along very well today. The front door looks wonderful. The new bathroom is really starting to take shape, the guys got all the sheetrock up and you can now tell it is a room.
On a lighter note, while installing the front door they had to cut a board at the top to make the opening a tad bit bigger. The saw dust was falling onto the head of the worker doing the cutting so they were using the leaf blower to blow the dust OUT of the house and out of the eyes of the worker. The gas powered leaf blower caused the smoke alarm to go off. You can feel safe knowing that your smoke detector works very well.

Hi Rod and Stephanie~
I can't begin to tell you how much my heart sunk when I read Becca is back in the hospital and on the vent. My thoughts and prayers are always with you, especially in this time of need. We all know how strong Becca is, and how much of a fighter she is. You truly have a special girl on your hands. I will pass the message along to some people at Emanuel and at my prayer group through Concordia. Please send my love to Becca and let her know all of us here in Oregon are behind her!~

Love,

You go Becca!! Keep up the good work sweetheart. You probablly don't remember us but I bet your mom and sister do. My precious little girl, Kaitlyn, was in the room next to yours at Emanuel when you were in rehab. there. We sure miss seeing you guys. I am soooo happy to hear that you are back closer to home. I am sure the staff at Emanuel miss you horribly but are also happy for you! You and your family have been through sooooo much this last year. You are all truly an inspiration to all Christian families. You are very kind, compassionate, loving people and we are so glad to have got to meet you guys!! Kaitlyn is doing very well. We are waiting for her next MRI September 14th to determine if what they have been measuring is scar tissue or the brain tumor returning. We have faith that the Lord will not allow Kaitlyn's tumor to come back and believe that the small increase in size from 7mm to 10 mm was not an increase but was simply a very subtly different view of the same area than the previous MRI showed. Could you please pray with us for that? We are very proud of you Becca and think of you and check in here very often!! Hugs and kisses to you and your sister!!! Stay strong and never lose Faith!! It's all we have.

Dear Stephanie, Rod, Emily, and Rebecca,
My prayer is that God keep strengthening Rebecca as she surely comes back to us, that He continue to give us all the patience and faith to adhere to His timetable instead of our own, that her transition home be smooth and stable, and that you all remember that I am here for you if I can help in any way. I would also like to thank Stephanie and Rod for their sharing of what must be the most challenging times of their very personal faith journey. You are truly an inspiration to those of us who, thus far, can only hope to someday have a faith and as strong as yours.

It is wonderful to see the progress in Rebecca. Words can never express our gratitude to our Heavenly Father for his mercies and grace. What a privilege to be a part of this miracle of healing that we see taking place. What a blessing to see so many Christians come together "in one accord" to believe for the healing of precious Becca. She looks beautiful. We will continue to bring you all before the throne of God, daily, as we praise Him for his completion of a good work He has begun.

Dear Leupps,
It's hard to believe that it has been 10 months since Becca's injury. We are so glad to know that you are still keeping the faith. What good news to hear that Rebecca's eyes are sometimes wide open, and that she has made a sound on command. Becca, the children in Sunday School at our church ask about your progress every week. They continue to lift you up in prayer and praise God for news of any progress. May the God of peace, comfort, and healing be with you and your family, dear Becca!

Dear Leupps: My heart rejoices with you as you see, and I read, the good progress Becca is doing. Dr. Leupp, my recollection tells me of the phrase "profusion of grace" you used in one of our classes (APNTS).

"For God's providence is as plain as the sun and its rays. In each situation and place, in the wilderness, in inhabited regions and uninhabited, on earth or sea or wherever you might go, you will observe the clear and sufficient, ancient and new, reminders of this providence." (John Chrysostom)

Dear Becca and family,

We wanted to say hi and tell you that we pray for you daily. You don't know our daughter Grace, but she prays for you daily without fail. She is 3 and her mealtime prayer goes something like this..."God is great, thank you for this food, please help Becca Leupp feel better, Amen." We are not allowed to leave you out of the prayer. Since we began praying for you after your accident she hasn't forgotten you, none of us have. How fun it will be for us to tell her God is answering her prayer daily. You must meet her someday. Love to you and your family.

What a testimony of God's faithfulness! Our family has experienced healing for my husband who experienced a brain infection (while living in Portland, OR) which greatly incapacitated him. It has been 5 years, but God has restored his health to the point that he is able to return to work and care for himself. God is able to do far more than we ask or imagine. I am reminded of the scripture that says "your faith has healed thee". Not only is God healing Becca, but he is creating an amazing gift of faith in your family. Continue to believe. God is able!

We love and miss you Rebecca. You and your entire family are in our prayers before meals and also at bed time. Tonight I did not mention your name and Elizabeth corrected me because we had never not prayed for you before we ate. So she had to say another prayer just for you. We are waiting for the Lord to finish HIS work that HE is doing in you.
Take care and may God bless you and your family!
Stephanie,
I am sorry for the mix up that occurred today. They are still available when you need them. They are still yours to use when you need them. You know what I am talking about.

"A man can no more take in a supply of grace for the future than he can eat enough for the next six months, or take sufficient air into his lungs at one time to sustain life for a week. We must draw upon God's boundless store of grace from day to day as we need it." D.L. Moody

I pray for you every day that God will give you grace enough for that day. I also join with you in prayer that Becca will be awake to celebrate her 10th birthday! I am attempting to believe with a heart and mind of faith and not one that is limited by human expectations. ~ Kathy

Rod, Steph, Emily and BECCA....we have never stopped praying for you all from the day we heard about your accident. And we will keep it up till you wake up! St. Paul has a verse for you, girl, from his letter to the Ephesians - "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." I know that you have been very close to Christ through all of this, and that He is very much with you, but we sure would all like to see you awake and alert. Rod, Stephanie, Becca, Emily,
Becca is so much on the minds of many children here. We have just begun having children's worship again and prayer for Becca has been requested every time during our prayer time . Once again, this past Sunday, Becca was brought before God in prayer by nearly 30 children. And, every night around 7:30 Rebecca is prayed for in our family....one of the last prayer requests upon Shan and Joel's hearts before going to sleep.

Stephanie, when we were teens you taught me how to have a CONSISTENT personal devotional time with my Jesus. I marveled at how real Jesus could be to you and how dedicated you could be to your time alone. Now, these 26 years later I am reaping the blessing along with you. Our hours of prayer, fasting and Bible searching this past weekend were some of the most blessed moments shared in our years of friendship and they happened because we both had a solid foundation of faith, heritage, and spiritual history to lean on. Thank you for being my Christian "big" sister and the dearest, most special, best friend that God could have ever graced me with. My faith is UNSWERVING! He who began a good work in Becca will be faithful to complete it!!!

Rod, Stephanie, Rebecca, and Emily,

I know I've been in contact with you via e-mail, but I wanted to sign Rebecca's guest book, too. This web page is a wonderful idea. It was a great privilege to visit Becca at Emmanuel Legacy last winter and this spring. "Emmanuel," by the way, is a great name for a hospital, and I hope it's a constant reminder that God is with you. No guest book signer, visitor, or even family member can be more attentive to Rebecca's case than her heavenly Father. My church in Ellensburg has repeatedly joined me in praying that "the Plucky One" may continue to progress and eventually return to full consciousness. You've all been walking through the fire, and it must seem like a very long walk, but you WILL emerge on the other side. Hang in there, Leupp family!

Rod, Stephanie, Rebecca, Emily,
I just figured out how to access your web page. We pray for you every day. Shan and Joel appreciated the yellow bracelets that you sent them. We immediately named them the "Becca Bracelets." Ever since receiving them, I have been wearing it to remind us often to pray for Becca and all of you. I have had people who know you ask me about my bracelet. I tell them that you sent them to Shan and Joel and that we have named them the "Becca Bracelets." I know that every time they see me wearing the bracelet they will be reminded to pray for Becca. Numerous people have asked about all of you. You are in our thoughts and prayers daily.

Stephanie,

It has been a long time since I have spoken with you. I want you to know that we have been receiving updates on your little girl for a couple months now. They have been forwarded from Peggy Howe to my mother and then onto us.

Lisa and I have been praying that God will really have a hand in Rebecca's healing and her life. Although we do not understand why things happen as they do, we can always rest assured that God can make a blessing out of any situation.

Keep the faith. We will continue to pray for your whole family.
