Savannah

We have started it to keep you updated on how Savannah is doing. Savannah has Cystic Fibrosis, Mild Cerebral Palsy and Secondary Carnitine Deficiency. She is a very friendly girl, but due to her illness she isn't allowed to go out much. She has been in the hospital over 50 times and takes numerous medications daily. She was homebound most of the school year. We are looking at ways to brighten her days. Savannah has an older sister Miranda (18) and an older brother Danny (23).

If you would like to send a card or a letter to Savannah, you can send her mail at:
Savannah R.
PO Box 140471
Broken Arrow, OK. 74014

Savannah's favorite color is pink. She really likes anything Barbie. Due to her asthma we don't do anything with scents. She likes Precious Moments and animals but again due to breathing problems no pets allowed.

Don't Forget to visit my favorite places!

Thank you so much for stopping by to check on Savannah. Please be sure to sign our guest book so we know you were here. Your support and prayers mean so much. Thanks again!

Journal

Savannah is finally really starting to feel better. It has only taken 11 days in the hospital and almost 3 weeks of iv's. She sees a doctor tomorrow,
not her doctor...he is on vacation, but the pediatrician at the same practice to have her post hospital visit and so she can continue with her iv's.
Savannah will see her doctor on July 3rd and he will then determine if she will continue on iv's.

Savannah still gets 9 breathing treatments a day and the iv's are due every 8 hrs. each and one runs for 3 hrs. and the other runs for 2 hrs.
She is practically hooked up to something all the time.

I haven't gotten the final reports yet from her discharged CT scan but her PFTs were the highest they have been in over 5 yrs. Her doctor hopes that they were accurate. (FEV1 was104%) When she was admitted her FEV1 was at 69 or 70%. We have been going off the baseline of 78% so if her results were accurate we may have a new baseline. We shall see. She will be retested in about 1 month.

I'll update as I'm able but I'm just not on the computer much right now.

Thanks to everyone who takes time to sign the guestbook. Savannah loves reading it.

Take Care,
Julie (Savannah's Mom)
