I haven't forgotten about you , just been busy with Derick stuff. I heard of a kid getting a "spitula" because he can't tolerate his own spit, what about something like that with the bypass, just a thought.

so here is my thought. If it tastes like nasty ear, could it be sinus drainage? All that stuff is connected right? Maybe a quick trip to the pediatrician to look him over would help figure it out. Just my two cents

Dear Scott and Chelle,
I read about you in Battelle World and when I found the Caringbridge link I had to read it and then write. I hope that Eliah's time in Disney World brought wonderful family times, fun, and laughter - the stuff of memories. I know from personal experience that use of sites like Caringbridge means that a famiy is dealing with a difficult medical situation and all the emotions that go along with that. I can tell from your journal entries that you are Christians, as I am. You can be sure that I will keep Eliah and you both in my prayers. We sing the song "Blessed be the name" in our church, too. Sometimes we praise in tears, but still trust His wisdom in all things. "Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart that I may fear your name. I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart. I will glorify your name forever." (Ps 86:11-12). May God give you strength and peace to trust Him.

So very sorry for your loss. I can't begin to imagine what you and your family are going through. I know the LORD will be there for all of you every step of the way. The song you mentioned, "Blessed Be YOUR Name", is awesome! Just let the LORD minister to you through it.

GOD Bless All Of You Guys!

Chelle and Family...
I am so very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how painful it must be. I am a NICU nurse from Minnesota and want you to know how you have blessed me by sharing the words of that song "Blessed be Your Name". It is definitely easy to trust and praise God in the times of showers of blessing, but it is praising and trusting Him through the very hard times that draws us closer to HIM and strengthens our faith. Continue to cling to God and let Him love you through this time. Your precious little angel will be safe in the arms of Jesus. Hugs and many prayers from Minnesota.

Dear Chelle,
I have been reading your journal about Eliah and your family and just want to let you know that you and yours are in my prayers. Perhaps you've heard of this proverb: "When you come to the end of all the light there is, and you step into the darkness; either you will find yourself on solid ground, or you will have learned how to fly." May God be both your solid ground and your wings.

I'm so sorry for all Eliah and your family have been through. Josh and Evan's best friend's dad had pancreatitis a year or longer ago and I know how hard it was on the family. I just popped into my long-neglected Preemie-L folder and I'm so sorry to heart that Eliah is having such a rough time. I hope the docs can find a way to relieve all of Eliah's pain and heal his precious little body. Charlie developed pancreatitis after his first liver surgery, and it's a frustrating thing to treat -- nothing is worse than seeing your child in pain and being able to do very little about it. We're heading off to the Relay for Life -- as we walk around the track all night, Team Charlie will be praying for Eliah and for your whole family, Chelle!

Hello Shelly,
My name is Mark Shepard and I had the honor and privilage of meeting your husband Scott tonight. We were just about ten minutes into our conversation when he showed me this web site containing the lovely pictures of your children. I just wanted to tell you Thank You very much for sharing him tonight as he has inspired me about God, Mission Aviation and the resources to make it happen. I know that you sacrificed some personal time with him and I appreciate your sacrifice and can appreciate the challenges you have with your children. I have said a prayer and will continue to pray over your family and I will look forward to the day when someday I may meet all of you if it is God's will.
God Bless,
Very Respectfully,

Chelle, hi my name is Traci and I wrote to you the other day about Zegerid. I am hoping that the sample packs you referred to in Elijah's journal are in fact the Zegerid. I think this is so much easier than compounding and since it is going in a tube you can water it down as much as you need to. If you find time, please let me know how you all are doing. You have been on my mind constantly. I am glad that the manufacturer is going to take care of testing the bad meds for you. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

I work with Scott, and added Eliah and the family to my prayer list when I heard of your struggles. We won't know all the why's of suffering until they are in eternity past, but we can encourage one another with what we DO know--that God is faithful, and that He is always doing the most loving thing toward us and our children in any given situation. Eliah

What a cutie pie your are!

Remember

Congrats on the home care waiver!

Both of my boys are on the home care waiver. My oldest has been using it for 7 years and we LOVE IT! I honestly couldn't make it without it!....Your gonna love it!....

I use independents myself rather than the home health aides. I like the advantages better. You can choose who you want and the care is better because its on a more personally level with folks you know.
If you have any questions just shoot me an email and I can fill ya in on just bout anything you wanna know bout waiver!

Sleep well tonight cutie pie Eliah!

Chelle, Sorry the GI made you feel soo bad. It bugs me when they THINK they know our kids better than we do. Glad your ped and OT agree with your decision. Will continue to pray for you guys. Look forward to seeing everyone at the M3 picnic.

Hey, Chelle! It's been a long time since we've chatted...I've missed our talks at the gym during Homeschool hour! Our boy is so big...wow. It is amazing what God can do, isn't it? You come to mind whenever HOTR comes up in conversation or thoughts - let's get together soon (I need to give him a hug!)...

Take care - Tell Melody "hi" from Miranda...and hugs to you.
Love you all!

I am so glad you didn't listen to the GI just because they have the education degree doesn't mean they know your child or their need. You get the bull dog parent award!!!!

Chelle, I know it has been a while since I've talked to you but I want to thank you for keeping me updated on your son. I love the picture of him and Julia with the walker! Eliah and your family continue to stay in my prayers. I hope that some day when Eliah is grown up and can remember back to this time in his life that he will remember what a loving and caring mom & dad he has! You are awesome and continue to fight the fight for him. Keep up the faith! God is with you!

Chelle,
Have been thinking about you guys lately. Glad to hear you have some answers even if they aren't the "easy" ones. God will provide as HE sees fit also praying that you can find peace in that. Good luck wiht the rest of the testing. Your struggle between the 2 options is shared by all parents with special needs.

Chelle, thanks for sending the email to remind me to check this site more often. I am now fully caught up on the joys and struggles of being Eliah's mom. Keep being the mama bear with the drs, hospitals. It will make all the difference in how Eliah processes this. He will know that you can feel comfort even when it is painful and what a lesson that is! That is what life in God is about while we live in this world. I am discovering that what I went through as a chronically sick child would now be considered "institutional abuse". And all I really wanted was my mommy to be there with me. I'm so proud of all that God is doing in you and your family. He's big enough to advocate for you, and you are big enough to advocate for Eliah for Him. Love you all!

Hi guys!
Thanks for a wonderful visit. Hey, Eliah, let's go driving with our seat belts on!!! We sure had a great time. Julia "told me a thing or two" with her finger pointed and her face scrunched up. All of you are always in my prayers. Come see me when the weather breaks and we'll go to the park.

I just wanted to let you all know that my prayers are with you and your family. I know how difficult it can be to continually get bad news from the dr. I am encouraged by your positive outlook and it's always nice to hear that there is new medical technology and medications to help Eliah along the way. Keep your head up, and stay on your knees; afterall, both Eliah & Julia can walk, you're really going to have your hands full know. Remember if you need anything you can call anytime, even if it's a few hours of needed rest or time to go on a date. 875-0574

Hi! Sorry I haven't written in awhile, I've been sick and not feeling up to writing. It is so cold here. It snowed and snowed here today! Wyatt loved playing in the snow. He took his favorite toy (his tennis ball) out with him. He played and played for hours! Anyway, I hope you are doing well and it isn't too cold by you. Big hugs from me & Wyatt!

Chelle, I will add your updates as able to Healing4kids. Direct email or phone call will ensure I get urgent info. I'm assuming the feeding clinic that moved from Cleve to Washington is still led by Speech Pathologist Marcy Freed? How about Cinci's program? under Dr. Cotton, Aerodigestive Center 1-800-344-2462. Still wanting to meet you & Eliah .. if able, please come to next Kid's Healing Service, Nov 7 on Cooper Rd .. will continue praying from distance until then .. Keeping your eyes on Jesus, not the circumstances is fundamental -- you know that, just encouraging you to keep doing it! w/ my own knees well worn, Barb Skubovius

Michelle (Chelle) you are so strong and I'm so proud of you. You and Scott are such good parents. I believe Eliah, my precious grandson, was put on this earth for a purpose. We don't know that purpose but we know that God has a plan. Eliah has brought special meaning to life. He's a real fighter with personality plus. I love him so much and hope that God will continue to bless your family and give you all strength.
