Hi Leisa,

good to read that things go smooth at your side of the world. Mark has broken his skull last monday and added a small brain bleeding - so we had to spend some days in hospital.

Hi Jordan, I have a daughter who has the same disease you have. She is doing very well and will soon be 18. She had a feeding tube, was very itchy and broke her bones 8 times. When she was 10, she got a lot better. You are very blessed to have parents who love you so much. I hope and pray that the Lord will bless you with good health.

Love, Mrs. Derusha

Just stopping by to let you know I have been thinking of you today. Leisa, thank you for being there for us when Evan was first diagnosed. I think Jordan was only 3 at that time. Your caringbridge page and comments on the AGS board were always so helpful. I wanted to let you know that once we found out that Evan was getting closer to his "transplant horizon" our family decided to not "live" the thought of transplant. It can consume your daily life. From your journal entry, it doesn't sound like you will do that, but I just thought I'd mention it. Please keep us updated on Jordan's scopes. As always you are in our prayers.
love,
The Lehrs

Lisa, I have seen you and your family at Liz's place many times and always knew Jordan had a serious problem. It never seemed appropriate to question you about it. Your web page is very well written and easy to understand. I had never heard of this condition before. You all handle it so bravely. I don't know how you manage to be so cheerful.I hope things will improve for you in the future. Thanks for putting the link to this web page on Facebook. It is very enlightening.

Hi Jordan,
I went to school with your mum way back when she was 12, and your cheeky grin reminds me of her. Your mum was so much fun to hang out with. She was always really adventurous and we got up to lots of mischief together. Next time you get in trouble for doing something feisty, you can remind your mum that she was sometimes naughty too! Your so lucky to have such a wonderful mum!

Hi Jordan and family,
My eldest son Owen will be 10 on New Years Eve, he was diagnosed with AGS when he was 8 weeks old - we where very lucky because we where living in London at the time, so he was diagnosed at one of the few hospitals that specialised in AGS, we where told that he would not make the milestones in life very quickly, but as I sit and type this he is at a special football event taking part and loving it! keep up the fight.

Hi. My son Hunter and daughter Megan also have AGS. Hunter has the the liver problems the most and deals with the itching. We live in Wisconsin so the winters can be hard. Hunter is 6 years old and has had problems since the day he was born. Hunter has done so well dealing with his issues and it helps him to know there are others out there just as special as he is. Thank you for sharing your story with us and other familys.

Happy birthday boys!

You both looked sharp in your ANZAC Day photos. I'm glad you were proud to march - there's a lot to be proud of!

I'm going home (from Alabama to Ohio, about 580 miles) tomorrow. I'll see a Memorial Day parade while I'm there. Later next week I'll take Mamie's Grandpa to get some surgery done. He was in World War II.

Glad you're feeling better, Jordan.

Wow what an adventure! Leisa, you obviously did your research before getting over there as to all the wonderful tours you guys did, it looks and sounds like it paid off. The photos were great we loved the one of the boys behind the prison gates, and Jordan with Ed was priceless. Glenn has always wanted to go to Perth so if that happens we know who to ask for tips etc. Did notice Jordan had lost weight particularly in pic of you and him, I hope it doesn't take long for him to put it back on. Noah and I will be back in Brisbane Tues December 11th for liver clinic so we may see you and Jordan if it falls at the same time. As always you guys are in our thoughts and prayers. Hi boys,
Congratulations on the birth of your little cousin Emily Jane. I guess you have already seen and admired her. When she gets a little bit older you are going to have to show her around and how to do things in "kids world". I am also very excited and can't wait to see her foto's. Hey Jordan, didn't I say Aunty Kathy was going to have a girl.
Enjoy the thrill of a new birth and take care of yourselves and baby Emily. Jordan I will have my fingers crossed for your tests tomorrow.
Lots of love and kisses

I'm especially sorry I'll miss that birthday party - it sounds really exciting. I'll be traveling then, but not quite as far as Australia. Mamie's Grandma in Ohio will be having her 92d birthday Monday and she'll need lots of help with so many candles.

Did Grandma tell you we are going to Melbourne and Tasmania soon. Cameron, Kirsten and I are going to Melbourne on Easter Sunday and Uncle Dave is meeting us in Melbourne on the Wednesday after Easter to fly down to Tassie together. We will be coming back the following Tuesday, so Cam and Kirsten will miss one day of school, and much to Kirsten's annoyance, cadets as well. I am sure we will have a lovely time. We will be thinking of you. Grandma and Grandpa will be looking after Lady for me, so you will have to ask Mum and Dad to take you over to have a play with her. See you when we get back. Hope the Easter bunny is very nice to you.

Hey Jordy,
Congratulations on the gold medals and congratulations on becoming age chapion. I hope you didn't hurt yourself while doing those double-unders at such a fast pace. Did you know that I used to be in a school skipping team and learnt how to do double-unders aswell? If you practice alot, you may even start to do triple-unders like what I'm starting to do at home. I heard that you like Grandma's new puppy and the position it likes to lay in. I better go now but I just wanted to say hi and congratulations.

Hi there boys,
Glad to hear that you are both doing so well and loving school and all the things you do for recreation. Keep up the good work and make 2007 a happy and healthy year.... one of many. We have had a very mild winter over here, with only a couple of hours of snow and already the spring flowers are pushing up their litte colourful heads in the grass, and that makes me very happy. Lots of love to mum and dad and to you two too.... Wouter's nephew Bas became a father for the 2nd time last week, another daughter and that means that we now have 5 (great) nieces. The new baby is called Isa Sophie.

Hi there everybody,
Just want to say hello and hope you are all fine. No news is good news!! I guess you boys must be excited with the school holidays coming up and not to forget XMAS. Have you made your list for Santa yet? Here in Holland we celebrate St. Nicholaas who arrived in Holland by steam boat last week and he is now travelling around from town to town in parades riding on a white horse called Americo and aided by colourfully dressed men called black Pete. We had a walk on the beach (the North Sea) this afternoon and when we were driving back through the dunes we saw a St. Nicholaas parade and the Saint was in a boat on the back of a trailer.
I will send you the following link so that you can read it for yourselves.

Hi there Jordan and Harrison,
Just want to let you know that I had a great time with your nan when she visited me in Amsterdam. We walked a lot, talked a lot :-) and I heard a lot of stories about you boys, a lot of funny stories, your nan would laugh out loud every time she remembered another of those funny things you guys do. Obviously she misses her time with you a lot, but she is also having a great time on her visit to our side of the world. I am sure that when she is back taking you to school in the mornings that she will have lots of funny stories to tell you about her trip. She will also have lots of fotos to share with you boys too, and almost every foto she took was for one of you.... "Ooooh Jordan/Harrison will just looove this one...". Life is full of precious moments. I had a lot of precious moments with your Nan in Amsterdam and Paris and soon you will be having many precious moments with her again. Later when you are older you will remember just how special those times were.

lots of love and hugs for you guys and your mum and dad.

Dear Family,
I think you should think about making your lives into a real life soap, "As the Bate World Turns." What about moving to a location beside a hospital, that will definitely save a lot of stress and petrol. Sounds like Harrison is on the road to recovery and I hope that Jordan is not too sick anymore. Leisa I wish you and the boys a great Mothers Day and lots and lots of good health for the rest of 2006. Lots of love from us "Dutchies".
PS. By the way, Esther and Ritchie have bought tickets to a friendly (practice) game between the Dutch and the Australian soccer teams. It will be in Rotterdam on the 4th of June and Esther is going to wear an orange Tshirt and wave her Australian flag (with dual nationalities she can't lose).

Hello! I'm Cindy and I have a son that has alagille's too. He had problems in the begining too. Michael is now 4 years old and doing well. He goes to preschool and he loves it alot. His doctor wants to see him yearly to see how he is doing. I hope one day that will happen for you. Hang in there. God doesn't give us anything that we can't handle with his help. God Bless. Merry Christmas to our Australian family! The boys look great, I really enjoyed the elf-pictures.
Leisa, to the problem that Jordanīs doctors never see Jordan in real pain with his cramps: A mom to a child with epilepsia once has told me that she makes videos when her daughter has seizures and shows the video to her doctors. Sounds cruel, heh, but maybe this might help?

I go to church with Peter and Sheryl McArthur and we have all been praying for you. I loved reading your diary entries. I am a nurse so it is interesting to read about hospital life from your perspective. Keep up the good work. We will continue to pray for you.

Greetings from Amsterdam. Just read the last notes of Jordan's medical journal. Wow!!! Jordan you are so special even the specialists are confused. I do hope though that the operation, the puff (long ago there was a song called Puff the Magic Dragon), the creams and all the TLC from you family, at home and abroad will make you feel a lot better. Just love to hear about my Holden freak nephew Harrison, if there is anything he would like from my part of the world, let me know. This boy is going to be going places (in his own Holden of course). Fantastic. Love from all of us and as always I am so impressed with the way you all get together and support each other, unconditionally!!!

Hi Jordan, this is (great) Aunty Pam from Amsterdam, remember me?? Just love your new haircut and you have become so grown up since last I saw you. Uncle Wouter and I just got back from a pop concert (Mark Knopfler from the former Dire Straits) in a pop hall with more than 9,000 people. It was a great evening and most of the visitors were very old (over 40 years of age), but we yelled and clapped like the younger generation. Just wanted to let you know Jordan that I think of you and Harrison a lot and my far away angels have a special place in my heart. Keep enjoying life and school. Love and kisses. Aunty Pam
