Hello there! I was a faithful follower of Sherilyn for so many years! I got a new computer then lost track of her site! Every once in a while I wonder how y'all have been ...so weird to have "found" this site on my computer. Thought it was lost forever. I used to live in NC so I was always so connected to you and your visits/travels/story. Just got on tonight and saw your last post was in 2011. Can that be true? OR do I need to update my browser...LOL! At any rate, hope all is good and that you have found peace in this crazy world. Thinking of Sherilyn tonight!

I just went through the guestbook and read every entry I posted since 2004 when Sherilyn was first diagnosed... some pretty amazing things. I miss Sherilyn so much. I still wear the bracelet I got in Show Choir at WMMS... the purple beads aren't so purple anymore, but I think of sweet Sherilyn every time I look at my wrist : ) I am sending my love to all of you, and reminding you that our God is ever-faithful.
I hope everything is going well. I will see you at the Light The Night Walk in Raleigh in a few weeks.
All my love and prayers,
Laura L.

Just checked your entry and I want to congratulate Veronica and Dustin on their accomplishments. The cruise sounded great. I'm sure they enjoyed it. So glad your job is going well. We have a boy in our church that has leukemia and his journey is much as Sherilyn's. He is 11. Wasn't that the age Sherilyn was when diagnosed? Please remember him in your prayers. His name is David. Hope you've had a good summer.

Hey Laura! Just dropping by to see how things are going and to say 'HI!'. Mom told me she saw you the other day...glad ya'll got a chance to chat. I think of you and Sherilyn often. I've got a couple friends dealing w/ cancer right now...what a BEAR it is!!! It's such a battle...but, Sherilyn's courage in facing her fight is a driving force for me!!! Dave and I went back to DUMC to visit w/ the child of friends of ours....I don't think we'd been back since Alex. Needless to say, we both felt like throwing up as we walked those, oh so familiar, halls. But, I'm happy to report we made it through...got to visit w/ our friends and meet their son. Noah was diagnosed w/ Ewing's Sarcoma last month...he's dealing w/ his battle like quite the champ!! His 9th birthday is this weekend...August 23rd.

Please call me if you ever feel the need to chat...not that it has to be about anything specific....I'd love to hear from you!!!

I find that often sadness washes over you like a wave that hits the shore. Sometimes you see it coming, brace your feet in the shifting sand, give yourself over to its salty tears, and then move on. At other times, the errant wave will hit you with an unexpected fury, knock you down, and then steal the solid ground from beneath you. A greater effort is required to rise, seek a solid place to plant your feet, and move on. Not only do you move on, Laura, but you do so with purpose and determination, not away from the pain, but toward new goals. In your journey along the shore, you will always be met with the waves. I have no doubt that you will move on from each one, grow stronger, and continue to be an inspiration to me and everyone who follows your journey.

Laura, I understand how you are feeling about life because I lost my daughter Jordan, on November 14th in 2005, from ALL. Jordan was 15 when she passed away. As I followed Sherilyn's story, I felt your pain and heartbreak, and I had previously told a friend about Sherilyn and that I thought she would also pass away on Nov. 14th. My heart breaks for you and your family. I've wanted to drop you a note many times, but knowing how much you miss Sherilyn really hits home with me.
I like to think that Jordan and Sherilyn are fast friends in heaven. They are certainly precious angels for us.

Congratulations on the great accomplishment earning your CNA. You will be a wonderful addition to the health profession. Good luck on your boards! You'll do great! I remember how much Sherilyn loved Smokey and all cats and animals in general. She was such a loving young lady. So mature beyond her years. I know how hard it is to put a pet down having put 2 cats down after loving them for 16 and 18 years.
Have a great time in Carolla making new memories and remembering past good times.

Hey, Happy Valentines Day, a day late. We just got back from a cruise to Key West and Bahamas, it was cold the entire time, never wore shorts or swim suit (which in a way was kinda good. haha). Glad to hear you are enjoying school and so are the kids. My heart goes out to you with lots of love on the day after Valentines and all year long....

Laura, your heart and your passion is truly calling for you! This is all happening for a reason and a purpose. Your know first-hand that a nurse is so much more than just a care-giver. They are a friend, a confidant, a supporter and so many other things that it is impossible to mention them all. I cannot think of anyone more qualified than you to take on such an important role. We will support you all the way in this new journey! We love you very much and the best of wishes to you and your family. Love, Jennifer High and family

Laura, I am so sorry to hear you in such pain. You have got to find you another part-time or full-time job. You need a reason to get up and get going and start being happy. I can't imagine how hard this is, but we are all worried about you, you can't go on like this. You need a support group, kind of like AA, somewhere you could go everyday and talk about your sorrow and Nicky too. I wish you love and peace of mind. I will be praying for you.
Love you,

So sorry to hear that you and Nicolette are having an especially hard time at the moment. I don't really know what to say that could help you. Are there any support groups for teens who have lost siblings? Sounds like she could really use someone to talk to who has been in her shoes. I hope you both find your way and repair your relationship. She can't stay angry forever, when she is older she will understand why you had to devote so much time to Sherilyn and Veronica.

Hi,
You don't know me, but I have watched your journey for some time now. I hear the pain in your words. Coming from someone that can't completly relate to what your feeling but do understand the other side somewhat. My brother passed away when I was a teen I was mad at my mom for crawling in a hole and acting as if the only pain was hers.
I was very close to my brother and I fealt a huge loss. Now as mother myself I couldn't imagine lossing one of my children. I am as close as ever to my mom and able to communicate my feelings of sorrow and understand hers as well.
My advice to you is give it time and embrace everyone around you. Try not to crawl into a place that others are scared to go.
My mom got so depressed and closed all of her living children out for quite some time.
Understand the pain that others have may not seem as bad as yours but inside they are having to deal with their own pain that is just as real.

Take care
Karen

Also, that I am so happy about Veronica's labs. I look at this site so often that it is on my desktop! I am always looking forward to seeing a new pic of my sweet Sherilyn. Laura, I want you to know that my 4 1/2 year old Olivia has Sherilyn's artwork that you had laminated for her memorial service stuck on her dresser in a picture frame. It looks so beautiful and we both love that it is themed in purple-both of our fav colors. Your parenting has given me so much to strive for. I think about you daily, but especially today. We will pray for your family and hope you are having a meaningful time at Sherilyn's fav place. God Bless, the High family

Hi Mrs.Laura! I read the note in your journal about how you like when people tell stories about Sherilyn so I thought I would share one I had! When you guys lived in your old house, the one behind Salem Woods, I remember coming up to play with Sherilyn and she had this pair of shoes that I loved! They were those brown clog shoes that have become so popular these days! I used to take them from her and wear them around the house until she made me give them back haha! Eventually I got a pair of my own, but for some reason I still liked Sherilyn's more. I think it was because hers were worn in and they felt so comfy! So now, whenever I see those shoes I think about Sherilyn :)

Hey Laura, I saw the movie Nights in Rodanthe the other day. It was filmed in the outer banks of NC. At the end there is a very emotional scene where wild horses come storming across the beach. It reminded me of Sherilyn and how she loved the coast. And...the horses looked so free and beautiful...like Sherilyn, free and beautiful up in heaven....it brought tears to my eyes...

Hi Laura, I haven't posted in awhile, but I check the site regularly for updates. I especially enjoy the pictures. Your mom's support group is a great idea. I'm not surprised to hear of you starting such a group. You are such a loving, caring person and it showed in Sherilyn's selflessness. I'm happy that our street could contribute to the Lite the Night fundraiser for Adam's Angels. It is great to hear that Veronica continues to get good lab reports and that she and Dustin are having a good year at State. I'd be interested in hearing the choral program at Millbrook if you can let me know the date. We were very active in the music program when my children were at Millbrook. I think of you often.

Obviously, I immediately thought of you and each time the Lord brings you to mind, I say a prayer for you. I just wanted you to know that you are not forgotten. I will continue to lift you up in prayer. Blessings to you.

Hi,
I have been following your CB site since last year and I never signed the guestbook. Your Sherilyn was a beautiful young lady.

I am also a bereaved parent. My David passed away in January of this year a month before his 9th birthday. I just wanted you to know that even though we don't know each other I think of you and your family often. If you ever need someone to talk to I am here and I understand.

Keeping you in my prayers.

Laura - the group you are starting sounds like a great thing to do!

I will miss you and your family at the Walk this year. I'm still on maternity leave and it's too early to bring the little guy out to a group that size. In fact, I'm not supposed to attend work functions while on leave.

But, I will be thinking about you, Sherilyn and Veronica tomorrow. I hope you and your family and friends have a wonderful evening, remembering Sherilyn and honoring Veronica.

Tell Nicolette that I'm happy school is going so well!

my heart breaks for you. i still think of sherilyn regularly and what a kind, generous and selfless young woman she was so i imagine how hard this is for you. she was an amazing little girl who was loved so much. i check on your page regularly and love to see the pics of you and sherilyn. no matter what she always looks soo incredibly happy!
i always think of the story of sherilyn making build a bears for everyone with a little message and i absolutely love that story. even during those moments when she was so sick she still wanted to be sure that everyone had a memory that they could keep close. so selfless.

Now besides Micah being in his heavenly home, I have two of my young men(I still call them boys) away at school and I miss them all so much. Dear Laura,
You have expressed so beautifully what every parent who has lost a child feels - no matter how much time has elapsed the yearning is still there and is just barely bearable no matter what you look like or act like on the surface. Mickey will be 6 months in Heaven this week on Aug 21 and my heart is still crying out in disbelief although my mind has come to accept the presence of his absence somewhat. God help us both. Sherilyn and Mickey have met in Heaven, that I know. Jenna, too, is starting high school tomorrow and it is soooo hard, because Mick should be there, too. I hope both she and Nicollette have good experiences and leave their marks (in good ways, of course!). God Bless - Cathy Linehan mom to ^^Mickey^^ www.caringbridge.org/visit/mickeyl

Hello,
I am so sorry for your loss. I to lost my 13 year old son to cancer on July 9, 2006. He battled it for almost 1 year. He was our strength and he carried us through this terrible time. Jeremy was and still is our HERO! He was treated at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN but in May 2006 we switched to Duke to try a different protocol. However, Jeremy's counts never came up as they needed to in time and he passed with a brain tumor on July 9, 2006. We miss him so much! We attend the Bluegrass Chapter of Compassionate Friends in Lexington, Ky. We meet the 3rd Mon. of every month at 6:30pm and there is no charge. If you are still in Lexington and think you might be interested this is a great group of friends that are going through the same thing. If you want more info. you can email me. God Bless You! Hi Mrs. Laura. I heard this song today and thought of you and Sherilyn. It's called Courage Is by Strange Familiar. Here is the website that I found it at.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=123895063

and here are the lyrics...

Lyrics for "Courage Is"
Take all my vicious words
And turn them into something good
Take all my preconceptions
And let the truth be understood
Take all my prized possessions
Leave only what I need
Take all my pieces of doubt
And let me be what's underneath

Courage is when you're afraid,
But you keep on moving anyway
Courage is when you're in pain,
But you keep on living anyway

We all have excuses why
Living in fear something in us dies
Like a bird with broken wings
It's not how high he flies,
But the song he sings

Courage is when you're afraid,
But you keep on moving anyway
Courage is when you're in pain,
But you keep on living anyway

It's not how many times you've been knocked down
It's how many times you get back up

Courage is when you've lost your way,
But you find your strength anyway
Courage is when you're afraid
Courage is when it all seems grey
Courage is when you make a change,
And you keep on living anyway

You keep on moving anyway
You keep on giving anyway
You keep on loving anyway

With Love,
Lindsay

Dear Laura, I am so excited for you that your are getting the chance to go across "the pond" and have a blast with the older ones. I am also excited for your youngest to experience her first long trip away from home. I am mostly excited for YOU- to have some blessed time away to experience the world and enjoy the time away that you know Sherilyn would want you to do. She will be with you all the time, as you know. Please have a blast and live it up-you deserve it more than anyone I can possibly think of. I would love to see some pics when you get back. Wish Veronica luck in her studies from the High Family, and we will wait for an update when you get back. We will pray for you and your family to have a safe trip. Have a wonderful time! Laura, I have been reading your webpage for almost a year & a half. It was linked with another leukemia person in my hometown. I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip. I worked for the phone company and would suggest you calling AT&T or your long distance provider to ask question about calling back to the US from Europe. Sometimes it harder than you may expect. They should be able to advise you and perhaps provide you with prepaid calling cards that would be cheaper here than there. Good luck! Enjoy.

Dear Laura,
Reading your entry brings tears to my eyes because it was as if you read my mind and wrote exactly what I was thinking. I think about my Joshua and about how he missed out on so many things in his short life, but he never let any of that get him down. I truly wish I lived closer to some of the mothers that I know who have lost a child to AML, because I feel that we all need that support. Please know that I think about you all the time and you are in my prayers.

i love the new picture of your two beautiful girls! you really hit the nail on the head with your entry about sherilyn's attitude despite her losses. i admired that about her from day one and i have said (and will continue to say) that i will never forget her. she really made lemonade out of lemons and at such a young age, that is sooo admirable. she was lucky to have had such an amazing mom (and family) but i think that makes her loss that much harder to bear for you guys. i wish things were different and that she was still here to enjoy all of those things that her sisters are doing.

Laura, I've been following your daughters' story for sometime now. What a beautiful picture you have up this morning. We live a couple of hours west of you and my son was diagnosed with AML about 4 years ago. He was three. We went the whole BMT route at Duke in between your visits there. I forgot where I got your site address, but probably from Micah's Mom?? Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, you are in my prayers. I have enjoyed your pictures and fun stories about Sherilyn and hearing about Veronica and her adventures as well! What a smart girl!

You're so right about the losses, but these kids always seem to live life to the fullest while they are here! My Jake is like that. Life is a bowl of cherries as far as he is concerned. He actually talks about missing the hospital!! (I don't!!) It's a gift God gives them, I believe. The losses now are for those left behind though. Sherilyn has more than we could ever imagine or even know to hope for. I know from reading your entries that you believe that, too. I also know that doesn't make things easier on you right now.

Have a great trip to Europe. We are headed to Corolla/Duck in a week and I know that was one of Sherilyn's favorite places. Last year she was on my mind while we were there and I know she will be this year too. After that, it's back to Duke for a visit. :p It's strange how you can love and a hate a place at the same time.

I'm adding my prayers for your family to all the others! Thank you for sharing your feelings, your family, and your faith. I'd love to meet you and give you a big hug one day.

Hi Laura~

Love the picture! I've been thinking about you and want to try and get together if we can -- hopefully I can put my paint brush down long enough to make a phone call!! Lots of projects going on at my house. I tried registering for the grief counseling at Duke but guess what? Their meetings got canceled too!! Just when I thought I'd try and see if it would help. Big hugs...look forward to talking with you soon!

Love,
Nancy

My thoughts and prayers will be with Veronica tomorrow. I followed your journey with Sherilyn and often thought of how difficult it must be for Veronica, not only with the soon to be loss of her sister, but also with the fears it must raise regarding herself and her own fight (and victory!) against this terrible disease. I still check on you often, and will look forward to hearing the good news about Veronica's visit to clinic tomorrow! Have a wonderful time in England.

Laura, I find myself coming to your site now more than ever. I know we have emailed on occasion with my questions of BMT and I thank you for your answers to my questions. We never made it to transplant, as Holly relapsed 2 weeks shy of her transplant (March 27). She was given another round of chemo and after that still had more than 70% blasts in her marrow. The blasts had become chemo resistant and we lost her the Sunday before Mother's day (May 4). Instead of reading up on your BMT experience, I am now reading of how you dealt with the loss of your wonderful daughter. I'm not sure how to do that. I don't want to do that. Thank you for sharing your stories, your pain and inviting people like me into your world. You and your family still remain in our prayers.

God bless the grieving mother...
In January as the snow flakes fall...
And as a new year dawns...
For her memories will comfort her...
Through winter, spring, summer, and fall.
God bless the grieving mother...
In February during the month of love...
She sends her hugs..on the wings of a dove...
And her kisses are blown to the moon above.
God bless the grieving mother...
In March and on St Patricks Day...
A beautiful rainbow...a symbol of hope...
Which colors her world..in a magical way.
God bless the grieving mother...
On Easter In April as she stops to pray...
Thanking God for the gift of everlasting life...
Knowing she will be reunited someday.
God bless the grieving mother...
On Mothers Day and thru the month of May...
Whose memories are like threads of gold...
For they will never tarnish....or go away.
God bless the Grieving mother...
In June as her tears fall like the rain...
Please comfort her...and give her strength
and peaceful days to help ease the pain.
God bless the grieving mother...
In July as the fireworks light up the sky afar...
Just like her memories light up her heart...
And she wishes upon an evening star.
God bless the grieving mother...
In August...as the sun shines through...
Who's life moves on...thru ups and downs..
Whose heart is so tender and true.
God bless the grieving mother...
In September as the leaves turn and fall...
Her childs life forever etched in her heart..
Her childs name entered on the memorial wall.
God bless the grieving mother...
In October...with the harvest colors all around....
Please guide her on her journey of grief...
and keep her safe and sound.
God bless the grieving mother...
In November...a time to give thanks and pray...
Who is so thankful for each precious memory..
But wishes with all her heart...just for one more day
God bless the grieving mother...
In December as Christmas nears...
Please bless her with the gift of peace...
And many great friends to help dry her tears.
God bless the grieving mother...
Each day throughout the year...
As seasons come and go...
And time unfolds...
Day by day...
Month by month...
Year by year...
and especially today...on this Mother's day.

Laura, I am not surprised that your children stay strong and persevere through difficult times. Look at the amazing person who raised them! Mother's Day was made for women like you, and I hope you can celebrate that on Sunday. Even with that hole there, you still have one of the biggest, stongest hearts in the world, and there is plenty left to share with your beautiful children, your wonderful family, and your fabulous friends. I will be thinking of you on Mother's Day and hoping you can celebrate being the best Mom an Angel could ever hope for.

Hi Laura, I know that this Mother's Day will be very difficult for you, but you should be reassured in the fact that you were the most wonderful mother to Sherilyn that she could ever have wished for. You provided her with so many fun family activities when she was well enough. She lived a full life and it is all because of you! She will be with you on Mother's Day in spirit, and celebrating with you and your other children. We also love the beautiful pic of you three. Sherilyn seems so peaceful and happy. We love you all and hope that this Mother's Day will be a happy time, as well as, a time to reflect on what a special and caring mother you were to Sherilyn, love Jennifer High

I saw a former classmate of her's that works at Zaxby's in Knightdale. She was stunned when I told her about Sherilyn. We hugged and cried and cried, and cried some more at our table. Dear Laura,
What a milestone for Veronica and for the family that loves her. I can't imagine having to go through losing your sweet Sherilyn and still having the constant worry about another child and this horrible disease. You are so strong and such an inspiration. I'm glad to hear Nicolette is getting back to a more normal routine, it gives me hope that my Jenna will also in time. She doesn't even want anyone to come to our house anymore and that kind of hurts. I am finding it easier to be away from home lately. Maybe England will be good for you. Laura, do not despair. It really has been so short a time. Grieving is a slow and gradual process, and each heart heals in its own time. You courageously share your feelings and keep your heart open to new experiences even as your grief washes over you. I know you will feel joy again, because your beautiful family and your strong faith will lift you up. Your Angel will not have it otherwise, and she waits for the music of your laughter. Take care, and I, as always, will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

Hi Laura, I love the new picture. I don't know if you read my latest journal entry(actually it was Dec.) I wanted to let you know that I have read your website and have been praying for you. I have never commented because my words are so inadequate. I taught at North Ridge for 10 years and although I never taught your sweet girls I have been praying for all of you. I am praying that as Sherilyn's absence is harder to deal with that the peace of the Lord will increase. You have been such a strong witness for the Lord and you have touched me and my walk with Him! Thanks!

Hey Laura!
I understand and feel your pain. And, I'm sorry. When Alex died, I remember thinking/saying that I needed to wait til I was over it, before moving forward with having another child. Dave and I had never wavered from our desire to have more children, even when Alex was struggling for dear life. I don't recall what it was that made me think differently, but one day I just had this profound moment. I realized that I would NEVER be 'over' the loss of our son. Time heals a lot, but there wasn't a fix for this one. I just knew that I would handle our loss differently as time went on. Just like you know, some days are better than others. I'm glad you went to the support group. You need to do whatever works for YOU. Whatever helps YOU move forward. You're doing a great job!!! Even on the dark days, you're not alone. I think of you often!!

Dear Laura,
I am sorry for all the pain you, and I, and so many other parents must go through. It is never ending. I don't have any words that will make it better, just know that I hold you and so many other moms and dads in my heart and pray for us all. We are like Humptey Dumpteys - no one can ever put us back together again the way we were, but I'm told, and have to believe, that the new, somewhat cracked and chipped people we are becoming will still be happy someday. Hello Adams Family! I hope that your trip to see Sherilyn's donor and his wife went wonderfully-you two deserve it! I check your caringbridge page daily and it felt so special to be there for Sherilyn's memorial service. Now that her monument is up, my daughter and Olivia and I are excited to go leave some flowers and a note some weekend soon. I still can't believe my little angel from 6th grade is gone, but I know she is in a better place and free from pain. We just can't wait to go visit Sherilyn say a prayer. We are always thinking of you! Love Jennifer High (A.K.A. Mrs. High from 6th grade Healthful Living) and the whole High family. We all wish you peace and happiness!

What wonderful news about Veronica's labs! I really miss seeing her sweet face when she comes to visit Andrea. Heck, I miss seeing Andrea's face, too, come to think of it! I guess it will be a while, with all their study abroad plans, but Veronica and all of you are always in my thoughts and prayers. And Laura, you're pretty high on MY list of admired people as well.

I'm just thrilled that Veronica's labs were so positive!

I was with a volunteer from Rocky Mount yesterday and she asked about your family. She had kept up with the newspaper articles over the years and keeps your family in her prayers. It's amazing how many people have been touched by the strength of you and your family - and by Sherilyn and Veronica's story - even those that haven't had the honor of meeting you in person.

Thanks for continuing to update the page for us.

Dear Laura, I think of you all the time. God is working in your family. Nicollette is very sweet. I know she loves you so much and God will use those hard things in her life to bring about good in her. It does take much time to heal and rebuild, but you will begin to see it. Be encouraged. There is so much that needs to be rebuilt after years of cancer and then the death of your precious daughter. It takes time. We are still in that process and I miss Micah so much. I always will. Praise God for Jesus! Have a wonderful Resurrection Day! I love you, Laura

Hi Laura, I know this is such a sad, at times, season for you. I probably think of you more often than ever, right now. One day you have a beautiful daughter who is rolling along, and then...the bottom drops out. You pick yourselves up and keep rolling...and then out it drops again. After awhile you start wondering when the nightmare will end and life will resume as normal. Then you realize that will probably never happen. At that point you begin to live day to day...enjoying the good days, wishing the bad days would disappear, and waiting to see what tomorrow will bring...I'm with you as you go through those days. In heart, we're on the same journey. I don't know how our earthly journey will end, but I am assured that we will all be rejoicing, together, in heaven one day. You're always in our hearts, Leslie

Dear Laura, I can relate to so much of what you said. Even though when you lose a child your experience and feelings of grief are so unique. Mark and I do not even feel the same way. I too have felt like I could physically die of a broken heart. The pain is so deep. God gives grace and I know things are not as hard as they were. I have learned that God's grace does get me through those hard days and times. I just look to Him and know He is faithful and He will bring me through. I praise God that He totally understantands everything I feel. Our heavenly Father gave His only begotten son so that through Jesus we could have eternal life! It is so amazing. God our Father truly understands our grief and sorrow. He did this for us because He loves us so much. Now we have hope of eternal life with Jesus and hope of seeing our children and other loved ones again because of our faith in what Jesus did. I pray GOd's richest blessing and peace upon you. Have a wonderful weekend and a great trip.

hello there,
i love the new picture and i especially love hearing about your loving relationship with Sherilyn. although i am a stranger, i never tire of Sherilyn stories and have said (and will continue to say) that i will not ever forget her, so with that said - thank you for continuing this journal. i think it keeps Sherilyn's memories alive and the world does need to hear about her. i admire your faith because i think that if you have faith and believe, it is easier to know that Sherilyn is free from pain and that you will see her again. i am most definitely inspired by this and i am working on this area of my life. right now, when i hear about kids and cancer and such, i take a different (more painful!) approach and i just wonder why oh why that Sherilyn and others have had to suffer. so..i'm working on it, i promise but Sherilyn's faith amazes me - such a young girl with such a mature soul. just amazing.

I know we don't know each other, but I have been reading your caringbridge site. My teenage daughter was diagnosed with AML in March. I find it a comfort to be able to read what happens and the emotions of other parents in this situation and know that I am not insane (yet). We are new to this and I struggle with what is normal and what isn't. I am so sorry for your loss and really don't know what to say that doesn't sound silly. You and your family are in our prayers and have been since I found your site. We are getting ready to go through the BMT process and take my hat off to you for your strength. I only hope I can be as wonderful a mother as you have been. Thanks so much for sharing your story for others like me.

Dear Laura...I have not written to you since the service I attended for Sherilyn. No excuses, but the words did not come. Even though we only met briefly over the many months,
I believe you and I passed each other before Christmas in front of Old Navy at Triangle Mall. We looked at each other briefly as if thinking "do I know her" and went on.
I told a friend of mine, a pastor, about you and Sherilyn,
and the glory of knowing you both through your updates. I feel the inspiration all of you have given us needs to be shared with others not yet knowing you. I have arranged
to meet my friend, the pastor, to tell him of the miracle
of your strength and the beauty of your child so that he can share this with his congregation to inspire and give them the hope you have given us, everlasting life through
Jesus Christ, our Lord. Chronicle those letters you shared
with so many and hopefully find publication. Your gift for
writing should not fall between the cracks. I'm sure many others need the inspiration you have given so many already.
Your job is not yet completed.

I loved hearing all the stories. I'm sure I'll never look at a mermaid purse again without thinking of Sherilyn!! AND, I LOVE the angel that was drawn in the sand!!! Take care. Take your time. You're in my thoughts!! Much love!! Janine

Thank you for sharing with us. I continue to pray for Veronica's health and think of Sherilyn often. I was brought to tears when I read the Build-A-Bear story in the paper last week, how sweet and caring of Sherilyn. I've watched her videos, which are amazing. The song that is playing, Ordinary miracle, it is played on a new CVS commercial, every time I see that commercial I think about Sherilyn. I think it's yet another sign for you and your family. Praise God she is healed.

Happy New Year to you also.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience at the lake, what an emotional time for you and your family. When you saw the lady with the puppies, you made me cry. You know your sweet angel is sending you all these little messages and laughing at all of you. The 7 - 11 number thing is so cute also.
I can't imaging how hard this is for you when you kids go back to school, but you have so much family and so many good friends close by who are going to keep you busy and your yoga class, sounds like fun. Wish I lived closer, we could do lunch, and go shopping.
I wish you nothing but love and happiness and I hope 2008 will bring you joy and peace. Just take one day at a time and know we are all there for you whenever you need us. God bless you!
Love,
Mutzi
