For you parents

God Made You For A Reason

When I look upon my screen
I find a happy reason
the joy that comes to me from you
is gratitude so very pleasing...

What a wonderful creator
that made a friend like you,
He placed a sweet kind person
and gave me lots of comfort too.

A world without your kindness
would be a sad sad world.

But I don't have to worry,
there's no need to be,
because of you I am very happy,
and that's good enough for me.

I've found great people everywhere,
they come into my life.
Just like you, all those others too,
have given me delight.

So I thank God I met you,
I thank him for all seasons.
Now I know for sure with all my heart,
GOD Created YOU for a reason.

Dear Austin,
We are new to the Diamond Blackfan group and this is the first time I have visited your awesome web site. Our son, Maxwell is only 10-months-old. He is in the hospital this week because he got a bad flu but he is getting much better. He has DBA and is transfusion dependent, no sisters or brothers. We want you to know that you are an inspiration to us and we pray that you are back to normal ASAP! Lots of love, hugs and prayers! Aaron, Dana & Max

We have so many more treats for your page! Mommy cant wiat to get working on them! It keeps her mind off of worrying about me for a few mins. But there is mass amounts of puke going around my house right now so I am THRILLED to be in the hospital!Kasey and Cody yacked at dinner last night, TJ followed soon after upstairs in the Ducky bathroom, Charlie did it in his crib while TJ was simutaneously hurling again. By 11 pm mom was hugging the potty in the downstairs LOCKED pink potty ( no kids allowed in that one..sheesh...grownups keep all the good CLEAN stuff to themselves!) and here I am safe and sound 125 miles away from the fiesta! Thanks for the notes guys! I LOVE THEM!! THEY MAKE ME SMILE!!! If mom got her friend Lyns son to go swin with diolphins in April she can sure get you all going too!!! She said she sent you a link to some folks that can hook you up! Well gotta go, my fan clud of nurses and doctors await my cute face, and mommy hears some more hurling in progress upstairs...Love Ya!

Hi Austin, you don't know me, BUT we BOTH are friends of Kylie Jae, how cool is THAT? Kylie's mom told me all about what a cool, super cute and brave boy you are and I just had to come over and say Hi. I have a son too, but he's getting old, he'll be 17 soon and he has to spend time in hospitals too and sometimes he has to stay home so he doesn't get sick, I know it makes him sad, so when he was your size we used to color and play legos, lots and lots of legos, but now i just watch him play his ps.Today he tried to teach me, it was so funny you would have laughed, well, this is probably getting longer than the books your mommy reads you at bedtime, so I'll come back another day, take care, Lyn www.caringbridge.org/nj/justinw

Hey Austin and Tammy, what Great News. Just like the old song I'll be Home For Christmas.. Now I want to share something with all the Family. FRIENDS... If I could catch a rainbow, I would do it just for you. And share with you it's Beauty, on the days you're feeling Blue.
If I could build a Mountain. You could call it your very own. A place to find Serenity, A place to be alone.
If I could take your Troubles, I would toss them into the Sea.
But all these things I'm finding, are impossible to me. I cannot build a Mountain, Or catch a Rainbow. But let me be what I know best.... A FRIEND WHO'S ALWAYS THERE.

Austin, I work with Candy Gibson and his has kept us all informed of your progress. The entire work place was in tears of joy when we heard the good news. God has surely blessed you and your family; not because of any troubles you are encountering, but because he made you so strong to show us ALL just how weak we are and how grateful we should be. It puts me in my place to hear about you and fills my heart full of joy, love and humility. We have all grown to love you even though we have never met. Please keep that wonderful spirit up that we all have heard so much about, as you are the strength for all of us. You are certainly the best. You are encouragement for others, humility and shame for those of us who complain and all the love in the world for all with ANY love in their heart. We love you. May God be with you. We all are!

Congratulations Austin! And congratulations to all your family. What a blessing for you to have a donor in your family, and a wonderful doctor and great nurses to help you get rid of DBA. It takes a long time until you can stop taking all the medicines and play outside without a mask on and go back to school, but then after you are all done, I bet you will look back and say "Well that wasn't so bad!" Our three year old Kate had her transplant August 6, 2002 at Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama and she is doing great! Her Caring Bridge site is at .../al/katiemay if you want to see her picture. She has bone marrow that works great now thanks to her 9 year old brother Wen, and she just has one more set of immunizations to get and she'll be all done with her transplant. She even goes to school now, and she only has to go to see the doctor once a year! We are thankful for God's blessings to your family, and pray for miracles of healing for all our DBA friends and family.

To the ENTIRE Wall family.... The Monicas in NJ are thinking of you, praying for you, and most of all loving you. You are a part of a special "family". That family consists of everyone who loves someone with DBA, and although there aren't too many DBA patients out there, there are a TON of people out there who love one!!!!!!!! They always say there is strength in numbers. This is a long road ahead of you, but one you will never walk down alone. There will always be one of us who have been where you're going, felt what you are feeling, feared what you fear.Take from us whtever you need to make it thru! You had better expect to be at Camp Sunshine in 2006 so Austin can tell all the others how it feels to be DBA free!
