Lori,

You are such an inspiration to me and those around you. You teach those around you how to stand up and fight when they feel like they can't. You hang in there, and when you can't go anymore, those around you will carry you through. I hope to raise my daughters to have the strength and courage that you have. I love you so much.

Lori, by nothing more than "coincidence" or maybe it was "divine intervention" I found your online journal. I honestly could not stop reading, crying and praying. I am so sorry to read of all the things you and your family have endured in the last few years. I find myself checking each day to see how you are doing. Your words have compelled me to hug my children tighter and be so grateful for all our blessings. Even though it has been many years since I have seen you please know that you all are in my prayers and thoughts daily. We are praying for your recovery.

Lori~Thanks for keeping your Caringbridge Family updated.  Hope it helps to know that we are thinking of you and checking in to see how you are doing.  I have to say that I agree with you--Some families are hit harder than others. When we are surrounded by people who have not been touched by illness and we hear them complain about the most mundane things and their lives seem so uncomplicated, it can be a very lonely feeling.  However, as I have walked the halls of Duke and UNC, it has only taken moments to see families less fortunate than me and I trudge forward reminded that I have many blessings in addition to the challenges. God in in Control. Stay Strong. You Win in the End.

Lori, Just trust God even more during this time. Sometimes when you don't know what to say, think or feel just say Help Me Jesus!! There is peace in his name. The one that wants you to fail is the Devil. He waits and watches us at our most vulnerable time and he swoops in and plants the seed of doubt. Don't give in!! Sometimes your head tells you things that you find strange, but your heart will always lead you in the right direction. You have a good heart. Stay strong and know that many, many prayers are lifted up to you each day.

Lori,
For the last few birthday/Christmas occasions I have asked of family/friends that typically buy gifts instead give to either Me Fine, American Red Cross, or the SPCA. After sending an email out about it this year, I decided to click on your website to update myself as to what is going on with Me Fine. After a few clicks I found myself on your journal and I had absolutely no idea you have been going through what you're going through with your own health. I have never met you in person, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong.

Dear Lori, I met you through Folden's journal and stayed with you throughout your journey. I had so hoped and prayed for a different ending, but your faith got me through your son's death and I thought if they can do this, than why am I questioning so much. It helped me to look at myself and my own faith. I thought I had made some progress and then the other day I read about you and your journey beginning again. I couldn't believe it. I thought how cruel can life be? I know if there is one and only one person on earth who deserves to be well both physically and emotionally, that person is YOU! You have helped so many others with your faithful thinking. I cannot tell you how many times during the week you come across my mind. You are truly an inspiration. I will continue to send my little prayers skyward for you and wish you strength in the coming days ahead. God bless you.

Hi Its Linda--Cindy's friend in Staten Island and on Candilyne's prayer list (also a good friend). I check back on you from time to time as you have on my hubby at his CaringBridge Website.

I remember when all of us from AOL Women's Open Chat were checking on Folden daily. We were a big group then and there was this negative (but sometimes very loving) older cranky woman who was in our chat room. She fought with almost everyone in the room (acccept Cindy and me)and was even blocked by people because of her antics. Well, she followed Folden's story religiously, and she was so genuinely bereaved when he died. Ann died in Mid 2005 of bladder cancer within a few months of diagnosis in her after a brief period of finally being happy and content. Before she was sick she gave Cindy's son a nice gift when he was ill. She died right after we adopted or daughter, Irina, from Russia so we were able to send pictures and share our story with her. Irina was 8 at the time and do you know this woman left me a "gift" (I was sworn to secrecy about the details) to help with the adoption ??? Her son contacted me after her death and the help came right when we hit a month when we could not have made it. I had only met this woman once in person opposite coats) and I did get a chance send pictures of Irina and feel glad she had her son and friend helping her out at the end.

Miracles happen in this nasty cancer business. Sometimes they are the miracles we want and sometimes they are miracles we never expect. Sometimes there are big miracles, and sometime little daily life miracle moments. I try to accept them whenever I can. I never ask why

Just wanted to share that. Hope we meet one day under brighter circumstances.

Lori, I followed Folden's story, God bless him, and I haven't checked your site for a while. I don't know why I looked today, someone above told me to. When I read your most recent entry I felt dumbstruck. I can not believe this is happening to your family again. I am sure you feel that you would rather it be you than one of the girls and that you are stronger than they are to take on this battle and can beat it. I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless your family.

You are a very special lady. Just found your website and feel perhaps God has lead me here. I'm struggling to find a purpose in my life and while, honestly, I hope my wake call is not cancer, I know I need something. I'm praying and believing God will lead me where I need to be. You will stay in my thoughts and prayers. We're all struggling with one thing or another and it helps to know I'm not in this battle alone. Thanks for your profound thoughts and eye opening words! I pray for your strength, return to good health and am grateful for your words.

Lori, I am telling you we can cure you.
I am sending you a CURE for cancer with NO SIDE EFFECTS. It will also keep any malignancy from ever recurring and help the body recover from all of toxic treatments someone might undergo during conventional cancer treatment. See the dosing for prevention, which I also recommend to any family members who have experienced a malignancy in the family. Our entire family follows the diet and all of us take the Ellagic Acid, even baby Jaya who is 14 weeks old today. The diet will help with preventing heart disease, high and low blood pressure, diabetes and many other illnesses. I have many notes in the diet and at the bottom so you can see some things that we have added or changed per the help of Dr. Gomez and in consideration of the age of our children. Please find the diet attached as a word document. I am also pasting 3 links with articles for you to read that give you the science behind why we are determined to cut most GRAINS out of our diet. Very interesting stuff and our biggest challenge “dietarily” speaking; it is harder than giving up cheese! Here are also a few links about how our milk is tainted and how bad SOY is for you as well.

GRAINS:
http://www.mercola.com/article/carbohydrates/paleolithic_diet.htm
http://www.mercola.com/article/carbohydrates/scientific_evidence_low_grains.htm
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2000/10/08/sugar-cancer-part-one.aspx
MILK:
http://www.mercola.com/article/milk/no_milk.htm
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2004/07/17/cla-cancer.aspx
http://www.realmilk.com/where.html
SOY:
http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/
http://www.mercola.com/article/soy/index.htm
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2000/02/13/more-on-soy.aspx

You can call Mike Jones a local farmer here in NC who can tell you about how some cuts of pork are as healthy as salmon because of the omega 3 oils in it, he can also talk to you about how real milk can help reduce cholesterol and promote healthy development of our bodies especially in children. He also has useful insight about how America has put farmer’s under pressure to use unreasonable practices to raise large quantities of meat and how we are being poisoned by commodity meats sold in grocery stores. 252-430-1988

Please remember that all healing begins with faith. You have to have faith in your physician as well in the prescription. Meena has proven that this works. Dr. Gomez told me that he has been healing people of cancer for years. He says it is more difficult for him to find those who believe him than those who are happy to know there is a cure. I have learned this myself over the past couple of weeks. It is so strange and sad to know there are too many people out there suffering needlessly. If you read this link from the FDA you will see why most people hesitate to have faith in natural treatments. I am pasting an exchange I shared with Dr. Gomez, which includes the FDA link:

In a message dated 7/10/2008 7:01:14 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, Gomez writes:
Thank you Niti.
Over the past 15 years or so, I have been painfully aware of the rejection by the medical establishment of simple, natural and relatively inexpensive products that can be helpful to many people. However, unfortunately and very regretfully greed and hunger for money of many individuals and powerful companies and organizations in America are trying to lead consumers in the wrong direction. It is really a shame.
The good news is that over the last 8-10 years more and more people are becoming aware of the many benefits of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
Yes, it is true too that many unethical companies and individuals are profiting from the suffering of others by making false claims and selling products, devices or machines, which are completely worthless. I have been there too, and many times disappointed as well.
As for my self, I just keep a low profile and make no claims of any kind or accept any charges, fees or donations from those that benefit from my suggestions in order to avoid problems with the forces of darkness so prevalent in this time of spiritual neglect.
Gomez
In a message dated 7/9/2008 11:18:27 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, nbali@nc.rr.com writes:http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2008/NEW01852.html
Dr. Gomez, I now understand all the reasons why you are not sharing this cure for cancer with anyone. Check out this link. It probably is nothing new to you. I can completely believe that the “mafia” as you call it is controlling more than the drug companies. It is truly a crime that so many people have to suffer and die because of these greedy, selfish people. I never realized how inhumane our fellow human beings can actually be. I do not know how they go to sleep at night knowing what they are doing to other human beings every day. I feel so naïve after reading this publication by the FDA. I hope you are doing well. We are praying for your good health and prosperity every day. Thank you for choosing to work for God and helping us save our precious Meenakshi. We are forever in your debt. With Deepest Gratitude, Niti
Meenakshi’s medications are:
The Ellagic Acid works for current malignancies and as a preventative supplement. It is reported to stop the production of malignant cells within 48 hours of ingestion and then it begins to kill the existing malignant cells in the body after 72 hours. By taking this as a preventative measure, it will not allow malignant cells to be produced in the body. The diet is a very important part of keeping your body toxic free so these things should be done simultaneously to be sure to prevent malignancies or to kill those cells in the body. Dosing for adults should be 3 tablets per day to kill malignant cells until remission, 1 tablet per day to be used for prevention. For children 12 and under, 1 tablet twice a day or a teaspoon of the powder twice a day to stop malignancies. For prevention give them one ½ teaspoon or 1 tablet per day.
Ellagic Acid can be purchased at:
http://www.ellagic.net/?gclid=CIK-vOujn5QCFR0RnQodlDfhBQ
Essiac is supposed to help the Ellagic Acid work more efficiently and a lot faster. It is also good to detoxify your body or remedy the harmful effects that X-RAYS, chemotherapy and Radiation can have on your body which are also causes of malignancies or secondary cancers. This tonic also has many other benefits. Please read all about it on their website. Dosing should be as per the bottle. Dr. Gomez only recommends the elixir form of this remedy. This is only to be used to fight malignancies and not on an ongoing basis like the Ellagic Acid for purposes of prevention. The Essiac can be purchased at:
http://www.essiac-resperin.com/ As with any medical treatment, the patient would need to have faith in this prescription and must follow the treatment properly for a cure against malignancies of any kind. It is not recommended to increase the dosing just because this medicine is natural and not synthetic. Remember to respect Mother Nature.

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I went through a bi-lateral mastectomy and 6 chemo treatments 2 years ago. There is a tremendous amount of support in the Triangle area for Breast Cancer survivors, and you are one already! I attend a support group twice a month at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh. It is a great group of women and I invite you to come. Please contact me as I live in Johnston County and I would love to carpool with you. It has been a wonderful addition to my life and an unbelievable benefit to be able to discuss all I went through with other women who totally understand. You and your family will be in my prayers and please know I am here for you for what every you may need.

Lori, I have written to you in email form but I felt the need to post here. I too am a friend of Cindy and Matt. As I told you in email, I had a bilatery mastectomy on June 30, 2000. I had cancer in both breast AND I am still here. I had 8 aggressive chemo treatments the last one being on Dec. 26, 2000.
While you were dealing with Folden I was with you thru this journal. I laughed with you. I cried with you. When Folden became an angel, I felt that a special child was taken from us way to soon. I have said many time I wish that I could trade places with Folden and other young people who are taken from us due to cancer. I have lived a full life and they had their lives in front of them. I prayed for Folden and your family throughout this journey.
Now I turn my prayers for you and your upcoming surgery and treatment. I have heard and believe this: HUMOR IS THE BEST DEFENSE FOR CANCER. You also must do your homework and become knowledgeable of your diesase. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I am here for you.

Hi Lori, I'm a friend of Cindy's (Matt's Mom) and have known her through the chat room for years. She's blessed my life in many ways as well as her son Matt. When little Folden was sick she sent everyone the caring bridge to keep up with the updates and such. I was sadden when he died and lit a candle for his safe passage to be an Angel of God.
Now.... it's time for us to pray for you. You seem so much like my favorite aunt. She too lost her son of leukemia... although he wasn't as young as your son but still it was painful. Then recently on the 8th anniversary of his death, she got the news that she has breast cancer. It was quite ironic. Within a week and a half the decision was made for her to have double mastectomy and after that she'll go through chemo. I'm not sure about the radiation, I believe they were planning to hold on to that thought after they see how she did. According to my mom she's doing quite well. I believe you will too. I pray that whatever happens from this will be a blessing in disguise and it'll bring you and your family close again.
BTW..feeling sorry for yourself is not such a bad thing once in a while. It's okay to go through that and allow yourself a little pitty party (as I've had many a times). Sometimes, feeling sorry for yourself you'll find that you're working through certain things that you didnt work through while you stayed so busy and it can be quite helpful. So dont beat yourself over the head for those times you went through those times. It's okay. We all do it, sometimes we need it.
You are so right about one thing. GOD IS IN CONTROL. Whatever he allows our way... He allows it because he KNOWS we have the strength to get through it even when it seems we dont think we have that strength...but apparently God sees something in us that we cut our selves short for. In the end......we realize that we can get through anything with his help. That's what life's all about, having faith, and asking God for help in times of crises as well as times of happiness and sorrow as well as anger even.
Just know that you are NOT alone. You're never alone even when at times you'll feel alone. Someone out there is thinking of you all the time. I still think of you and your family and how y'all were dealing with the little one being an Angel watching over you as a guardian Angel. I just know he'll be right there with you as you go through your surgery holding your hand whispering in your ear "it's okay mommy everything'll be just fine."
I'm praying for you as well and will tell my daughter what's going on too. She too watched and read with me all the updates on that precious boy of yours. She prayed all the time for him and cried when i told her that he went home to Heaven. She's asked on several occasions if you'd made any other updates and when I looked there were none. I told her with all the things going on with the foundations and stuff you were probably very busy. She agreed and understood. She'll definitely want to know about this so she too can pray. She's got a huge heart even for people she's never met.
Keep us posted as often as you can. If you can let us know through Cindy possibly when your surgery is scheduled for so we know which day to pray on. And know...some how some way, spiritually you'll be surrounded by many, holding your hand, praying over you, thinking of you, praying for the doctors and everything. I have the faith that you'll do just fine and you will feel so much better once it's all over. My aunt's amazed how much better she feels as well. She, like you, is a very strong lady and very much in tune about how God's in control over everything. You'd really like her, as i believe she'd really like you.

God bless....hang in there....and remember , you're NOT alone!

Lori, my prayers go out for you and your family. May God hold you in his hands, and give you the strength you need. I understand the question of "why me?". I asked it just over a year ago when diagnosed with a permanent and progressive liver disease. There is no answer to "why me?", it is as it is. I followed your journal with Folden, after Matt's mom, Cindy, sent the link. I know Cindy from the Women's Chat Room. Prayers from these people gave me the comfort that I have needed more than once, I hope they provide you with comfort also.

I am a friend of Matt and Cindy's, and was touched by Folden's journey years back. My husband now too has a very serious cancer (metastatic melanoma with brain metastisis) My heart and prayers are with you as you begin your treatment and hopefully the road to health. FYI, there is an alternative cancer treatment that is showing promise for people called LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone). There is a Yahoo group about it at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LDN_4_cancer/ My husband is taking LDN and while we have no idea if it is doing anything for him, it has no side effects. I cannot imagine what you are having to go through, and I was saddened to read about your illness. I just know your girls are as beautiful as ever and they will help you through this. Foldie Lee is missed a great deal, and will never be forgotten. He taught me alot about life, strength, and being a better nurse. I will never take my childrens' health for granted. It is wonderful what you are doing to help families. I commend you all. My three year old son is a brain tumor survior - treated and saved at UNC Hospitals. We have been through the financial struggle of having an ill child and couldn't have made it back and forth to Chapel Hill each day if it weren't for friends and family's assistance. You guys are amazing... Little Folden is an Angel. Thanks for doing what you do.

Lori, I am DeLayne's Mom and she has told me so much about you and what all you have been through. I cannot imagine having to deal with all that you have had, and I Thank God that this has not touched our family so far. However, DeLayne and I have friends here in her hometown of Copperas Cove, Tx that have just learned that they are facing this terrible cancer. Their oldest, Dustin 6 year old has just been diagnoised and it is a horrible thing for the entire family. DeLayne told me that she had submitted their names for assistance from your foundation and I just want to say how proud I am of her for doing so and to thank you for any assistance you can give. This is a very young couple, they have a 3 yr old at home also. Both parents work for Wal-Mart and really don't make that much money. Right now they are driving approximately 60 miles one way to take Dustin to the hospital, at least every 3 day. They have used all their sick leave, vacation time and now when they have to be off work they are not getting paid. So anything you and your foundation can do for them will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all that you do. I have spent the morning on this site and have read of so much pain and how much you have helped others.

I am very happy that DeLayne found you and was able to work for you at your girls spa. She LOVES working there and the people she works for and with. It is all she talks about when we talk. Since she has lived there I have flown up several times for a week's visit. I don't plan on a trip this summer at this time, but I do look so forward to meeting you when I do make another trip. DeLayne is my "baby" and we have been through alot together and I love her so much and am so proud of her. She has handled her life in such a positive way these past few years.

And those boys, well they are my heart and soul! I cannot describe how much I love them.

God Bless you and your family.

Dear Foldon's Family,
I want to let you all know that Mrs. Jill King came to talk to my school class today. It really touched my heart because when I was born I had a hole in my heart and I had to have open heart surgery when I was 13 months old so me and my family know what you went through. God blessed me and my family and I made it through the surgery. I want you all to know that God is in control and that I am going to be praying for your family.

Lori,

Just stopped by to check how things are going. What a wonderful blessing to read of so many that the foundation has helped...since I haven't posted to your site in a very long time, I wanted you to know that Mike passed away on October 8...he always enjoyed talking with Mr. Lee on our stay together at Duke. Now, he and Lane are together...and that thought gives me tremendous peace...Continuing to remember you always in prayer.

Dear Lori and Friends of Me Fine... This Friday June 1st starts the annual Relay For Life, sponsored by ACS; come join us and celebrate the victories over cancer and honor those that have gone to be with God. Our team F.R.O.G. (Forever Relying on God)has completed a Relay quilt for the fight against cancer and is one of many items that is being raffled by participating teams. Come join us at the Johnston Community College Campus to see the wonder of this event. In addition there is all kinds of foods to enjoy after a lap or two around the campus pond. And on Saturday we now have a new youth rally to encourage youth survivors and friends to have a special cermony and walk. God Bless.

I began following Folden's site several years back through Spencer Rocket when he was at Duke. My daughter had a similar leukemia at the time. Every once in a while I wonder back and wish I could win the lottery so I could send you $$ to spread to those in need.

Hey Lori,
I just wanted to let you know my sister n law and I made our first of many visits to your shop on 70. It was wonderful. I know i did not spend much but was happy to know where it was going. my husband has been wanting to take up golfing and i know he does not have much time, nor do i have the money to spend on a new set like he would want. And much to my surprise you had a full set and a bag there!!!!!!! It made my christmas to know that I could give some money to help with someone in need and my husband could get a great gift for Christmas. God does answer even the smallest of prayers!

Hi! Just want to let you know, we all think about you every day. With the holidays approaching, The Me Fine Foundation becomes an angel for every family in need. My heart goes out to each and everyone of them. The difference you are making in these lives is just incredible.
We are going to be in the hospital Christmas week. Matt needs a special pancreas test and we want to try and avoid him missing school. Unfortunately, the test can cause pancreatitis, so as a precaution, we are staying overnight. We can only hope this doesn't happen. I know your holidays will be filled with a ton of emotions but you have to know in your hearts the impact you have made on others.
God Bless You All...always holding your hand!

Hello Lee Family
I think of you guys often. You guys don't know me, except for Dr. Lee, I worked on 4th Floor at UNC with the students about 4-5 years ago. I to am a mother who has a angel in heaven named Chase. It marked 7 years yesterday that he left this world at the age of 3. He has born with severe congenital heart defects and had major surgerys. His last surgery did not go well and even though he fought for 2 weeks at UNC hospital the Lord still had other plans. I read your beautiful story and you described everything I to felt as a mother about my son. You are also right about God, He has a plan greater than we could ever imagine even though the plan my not go the way we wanted. Please keep on fighting the good fight of faith and know that you have a sister that understands and lifts your family up in prayer when I think of you. Be Blessed

I check in every so often...our friend Spencer Rocket was at Duke when Folden was. I loved reading your entry about the wheel chair. We just recently gave Ali's away...I put it on Craig's List for $10...I had a few response but it wasn't right for the first few people and then when I found the person it would work for we gave it to them for free....and it felt good! I did like your dinner idea...I will have to do that when I finally eat out:)

Please email me on how to order Tupperware as there are some items I need.

Thank you for still caring about families in need. I still enjoy reading your entries; so please don't stop writing. I am still hoping that one day you will write many books about you and your family lives. I do check on you from time to time when we visit Folden's office. One Saturday I am going to make it to one of the stores. I want to see the handmade pocketbooks and Christmas ornaments. I know you will have many jewels in your crown one day for the blessings you have given to so many people through your words of wisdom as well as financial help. I always am touched by your words of wisdom. Yes, Folden was given to you for a special purpose. He was an angel on earth for a short while and yes I feel he is still touching our lives today as an angel. May God continue to give you the strength and courage that you need to continue your mission.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Lori,

I am always in tears at the end of your posts. I hope all goes well for you with the surgery. You always provide a reality check, and you are so right. I struggle with personal issues (ie weight, wearing glasses etc) really stupid stuff, when I read your posts I am reminded how really trivial those things are, I am blessed, I am able to tuck my kids in at night, and do all those things alot of mom's can't because their chidren are sick. My heart breaks for every parent and child out there that are facing a life trheating illness.

You make me realize how truly grateful and blessed I am.

God Bless

Hi Lori,
Thanks for checking in. I just read your latest journal and was so saddened to hear about Rebecca. I will keep her and her family in my prayers. It means alot that we keep in touch even if the words are hard to come by. I have had so many of the same questions-Did we choose the right hospital-Were we careful enough-How did Alex get the adeno virus? I know it doesn't help, but every now and then it creeps in. It helps to know I'm not the only one who struggles. Thanks for taking the time to check on us.
Love,

Lori, I always look forward to your updates, even when they rip my heart right out of my chest. I am heading to Rebecca's site next, just to let her know she is being prayed for. You are such a sweet person, your family is so blessed to have you there. You do so much for so many, and you carry each one in your heart. You must have one huge heart! Thank you, your family, Lisa, Lisa, Judy and all who contribute to MeFine in any way. You all are so special and I know the Lord will bless you for all the wonderful things you do.

Since the first time I "met" Folden IV, I fell instantly and head over heels in love with him. I come to this page many, many times in a week, not always every day anymore, but if I do in a day, it's many times in that one day. As I sat here reading the latest update, and then linking to Rebecca's and going over old journal entries on her page, reading about her experiences with Folden, the song "Time of your Life" came on, brought instant tears to my eyes as I thought, Yes, that's how it must be for you...even though Folden is no longer here, I wouldn't give up "meeting" him and knowing his family and I wouldn't give up the ache in my heart every time I see his beautiful face, because knowing Folden has added so much to my life. I know my children have given me and continue to show me the time of my life, and I wouldn't change it for anything, and I know it must be the same for you guys.
God bless you always...

Dear Lori, It has been a while since I sat down and looked at this site. So much goes on in our lives that we don't stop and smell the roses. I underwent surgery last year for possible breast cancer and the Lord saw fit for everything to be benign, however, I have since developed another lump in my breast and have to return to the Cancer Center at LSU next Tuesday to have it looked at. I don't know what made me look at this site today except that at times like these it makes you remember what other people have lost. You were always a strong and brave person and when I get down over the test that I have to go through I think of you and remember. Enjoy the beach for me as I miss it terribly. You are in my prayers and thoughts as well as the rest of your family.

I have been visiting your site for years. I go to church with Rebecca Simpson. I have never had a seriously ill child but know that it could happen any day. So, I have not forgotten your family or any of the families I have learned about through your links and others. Know that your work is good and reaches so far beyond your home, neighborhood, town....I pray for you and all the families you support. Everytime I hear "Over the Rainbow," I think of a sweet boy I never met but who is looking down from Heaven, so proud of his family for making a difference in this world.

Lori, I still read your entries at least once every 2 weeks just to stay on top of what is going on. Daisy is growing up so fast. You were right, time flies. Where does it all go?? Your girls are soo beautiful. They have grown up a lot too. Enjoy the summer and the beach. Things will fall into place. No one will forget what ME FINE stands for nor the families and loved ones that it helps. Love, Heather

I check this site often. I first saw Folden on a newscast in NC in support of bone marrow drives and his courageous story. He and your family have been such an inspiration. I lost my mom in October of 2004 to AML so your grief has become even more real to me. I used your site to find Spaghetti Legs and had a beautiful quilt made in my mom's memory for my grandmother (another outlet for expression and healing). You will never know how much this site means to me. I too have continued my mom's Caringbridge site and often wonder if anyone visits anymore. It was such a source of communication during her struggle but is now a way for me to communicate my feelings. Thank you!

We still think you of guys. The one thing that continues to get us through the hard times is that God doesn't put anything onto you that you can't handle. Take care.

PS Matt's projected "end of chemo date" is Sept. 30th. He is so excited at the prospect, it's been a rough 3 years. I too am excited but a bit worried as well..we'll just take it one day at a time...much love to you, Folden and the girls :)

It seems that I overlook signing the guestbook since I "talk" to Lisa so often through e-mail.
I do want to tell each one of you at the MeFine Foundation how special each of you are. The work you do is so awesome, reaching out to bring happiness and joy to those who need it the most. I am sure Little Folden is so proud of his family and friends for honoring his memory.
You are a special class of people, thank you for what you do. I pray God will continue to bless you and MeFine.

WOW !!! Things are moving along at an amazing pace for you. Sounds like incredible things are happening and it makes my heart sing :) So glad you and the girls get to go to the beach, the ocean is always such a healing sight for me. Matt will be done with chemo in September and I need to see the beach!! We have been staying away because of the risk of him getting sunburnt plus he would have a hard time walking in the sand and riding the waves. Makes me so sad..but here we are almost at the end of his treatment. We just got out of the hospital a few weeks ago...this time hepatitis with no known cause. We certainly have been on a rollercoaster but praying that this Fall we can get back to some type of normal life. Of course there is that little voice always in your head worrying if it will come back but we need to just push on forward like we have been doing.
Take care, thanks a million for the update...love hearing about you, your wonderful family and Me Fine.
Much love,
Cindy

Words aren't enough, but I hope you're ok.
