A New Years Prayer
May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
Gods love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.
Numbers 6:24-26

and keep you;
25 the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;
26 the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace."

Oh Tonya, it's only natural that you'd do what you have to do to protect your heart during this time. The firsts are always so hard to get through.
As for the testing...yes, it is something that you need to do. If you didn't do this and found out later that something was wrong you'd never be able to forgive yourself. The Lord knows exactly what's going on and He's working in this, too! Praying so that the tests all come back fine!

Dear Tonya, For the past 2 weeks you have been on my heart so much and as I lift you and your family up to the Lord, all of His wonderful promises of heaven (and there are SO many)flood my soul. I have to be honest...I try and put them in some form of a prayer for you, but it seems to no avail. To my family it seems odd that someone whom you have never even met could have such an impact on their life. Well, that's me this Christmas. I KNOW you know all the promises about our wonderful eternity with our Jesus...where there is no more pain, heartache, sickness and every other single bad thing on this earth....but it doesn't make it any easier...especially to one who has lost like you have lost. I said all that to say this...I can only imagine your heartache...I, too, have 2 children in Heaven (they were babies). I do know the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father and He has promised to mend your broken heart in a way that can only come from Him. I've sat at the Master's feet and thanked Him for holding you up in the palm of His hand....and somehow let you sense His presence in a mighty way through this Christmas season. The Lord has given me such a love for your family and has allowed me the privilege to pray for you. May you have a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year through the Holy Spirit. In Christ, Piper

Precious Tonya, You are not a "psycho-mama;" just a mother who has been through an amazingly difficult time.

I am praying for you, asking our awesome, powerful GOD to grant to you that peace that passes ALL understanding. Of course, I am asking for perfect numbers and negative tests for any thing harmful, and for Jesus to give those sweet boys wonderful health.

As you approach Brent's Heavenly birthday, I ask for the Holy Spirit to surround you with strength, calmness, and strong faith to look forward to that fabulous day when we shall all be around the throne of the ONE who created us, praising HIM and loving on our loved ones who went before us.

With Christmas love;

HE ONLY TOOK MY HAND
Last night while I was trying to sleep,
My son's voice I did hear
I opened my eyes and looked around
But he did not appear.
He said "Mom you've got to listen,
You've got to understand
God didn't take me from you, Mom
He only took my hand
When I called out in pain that night,
The instant that I died,
He reached down and took my hand,
And pulled me to his side.
He pulled me up and saved me
From the misery and pain
My body was hurt so badly inside,
I could never be the same.
My search is really over now,
I've found happiness within,
All the answers to my empty dreams
And all that might have been.
I love you and miss you so,
And I'll always be nearby.
My body's gone forever,
But my spirit will never die!
And so, you must go on now,
Live one day at a time.
Just understand-
God did not take me from you,
He only took my hand.

"HEAVENLY CHRISTMAS"

I have had my first Christmas in Heaven:
A glorious and wonderful Day!
I stood with the saints of the ages,
Who found Christ, the Life, the Truth, and the Way.

I sang with the Heavenly choir:
Just think! I who longed so to sing
And oh, what celestial music
We brought to our Savior and King!

We sang the glad songs of redemption,
How Jesus to Bethlehem came,
And how they had called
His Name "Jesus",
That all might be saved through His Name.

We sang once again with the angels,
The song that they sang that Blest Morn,
When shepherds first heard the glad story
That Jesus, the Savior, was born
Oh, how I wish you had been there:
No Christmas on earth could compare
With all of the rapture and glory
We witnessed in Heaven so fair.

You know how I always loved Christmas:
It seemed such a wonderful day,
With all of my loved ones around me:
The children so happy and gay.

Yes, now I can see why I have always loved Christmas:
And oh! what a joy it will be
When you and my loved ones are with me,
To share in the glories I see.

So, Dear Ones, on earth, here is my greeting:
"Look up till the day dawn appears,
And oh, what a Christmas awaits us
Beyond all of our partings and tears."

Happy Birthday Gabe!!

Tonya, I wish you would of reminded me of Gabe's birthday...

Please know you can count on me to be praying BIG time for that LDH...

I would do the very same thing you are doing with getting the boys checked, you know that!

I didn't get to see Brent during this time last year, but I'll never forget reading about all the many awesome things he experienced before the Lord called him home.

I still get chills thinking about all the conversations he had, and things he saw... He is so precious, he gave us all a "glimpse into heaven." How special!

One day before we all know it, we'll be there right with him, worshipping our King...

Blessings to you Tonya,

Christmas in Heaven
by Unknown

'Tis Christmas in Heaven
What a beautiful sight!
It's my first one here;
Everything is all right.

The crib is adorned
With the brilliance of stars,
Wisemen have come
From Venus and Mars.

I've met all our dear ones
Who preceded us here;
The reunion was lovely,
An event full of cheer.

And tonight we'll all gather,
In reverence we'll kneel,
For the Babe in the cradle
Up in Heaven is Real.

I think of my family
that I left behind
And I pray that your Christmas
Is as blessed as mine

Please shed no more tears,
For my soul is at rest,
Just love one another;
Live life to its best.

Yes, It's Christmas In Heaven,
So I've heard them say,
Yet, Christmas In Heaven
Happens every day.

As Long as There's a Christmas

The first few lights glow brightly,
as you watch the season start.
You know you should be happy,
but don't feel it in your heart.

Instead you think about a time
when someone laughed with you,
and the love you shared then filled your soul.
But too soon it was through.

So Christmas comes with sadness,
and a yearning deep inside,
a thirst for love and peace and hope
that will not be denied.

Late one night you hear a voice,
so soft, and without blame,
and then, surprised, you realize,
He's calling you by name.

"I know your hurt and loneliness,
the heartache that you bear.
I listen and I cry with you
through every single prayer.

"I promised in the manger
and fulfilled it from the cross.
I built a home that's filled with love
for all those who are lost.

"So let me come and heal your heart
and give you rest within.
For my way is kind and gentle
and will bring you joy again."

His words still echo through the years,
a vow that He made true,
"As long as there's a Christmas,
I will be in love with you."
--Jack Zavada

With much love and my prayers for peace and comfort.

I was surprised this morning to see a hymn added at the end of the service when we normally have silent prayer. I was distressed to see that it was "Abide With Me" because it's been many years since I've been able to sing that hymn without crying. Today was no exception. I want to share the verse that the hymn is based on as I continue to pray.

Goodmorning Nason Family,
It has been a long time since I have checked your website, but this morning I felt the Lord leading me to do so. Thank you for continuing to minister to us all. As I read your journal entry you wrote on the 11th God just used your words to speak to me about my son. To remember that if tonight were his last before joining Christ in Heaven that I need to remember he is where he will find joy undending. That his Creator will be the very one holding him. Thank you as I and others who's children are perfectly healthy need to hear the truth and be prepared for the possibility of that time. We never know when we will breathe our last breath on this earth, but oh, the promise we have of eternal life. Praying for all of you as these are the first holidays celebrated without Brent.

Tonya, I have prayed for your family daily for the past year and a half. Lately, I find myself thinking of you and praying for strenght for your family several times a day as I go about Christmas preparations this year. I try to remind myself that Brent gets to celebrate Christ every minute now in His presence. What joy that must be!

Dear Tonya and family, I am keeping you and your family in prayer that you will know the same embrace of comfort and peace during this difficult season that all of Heaven feels as they worship the Savior face to face. Thank you for letting us know how you are doing because we care and will stand in the gap for you in prayer.

Dear Tonya,
You are so amazing...always concerned about others during your hardest times. You are very much on my heart during every day, but especially during the holidays.
I keep thinking, though, how awesome it must be to celebrate Christmas in Heaven?!

You need to start having more meltdowns in the shower. It's away from the kids so it won't bother them but you really need to get those feeling out and not keep them in so much. If you keep trying to keep them in they could come out at the worst times. Oh how my heart aches for you and your family!
Know that I'm still here praying!
Isaiah 43:1-2 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. To my dearest Tonya,

I tried to call tonight, right about the time you were updating...amazing.

I love the way the Lord puts you on my heart and tells me when to "press in". I've been thinking of you a lot these days as I remember this month last year.

I'm also remembering all the "beautiful things" that went on during those last weeks and days. Your son experienced things many would only dream to "hear and see". I'm so grateful for that, and those memories continue to give me so much HOPE, they also cause me to long for more! We have so much to look forward to...

I was reading a woman's blog today and it was the the anniversary of her son's graduation to HEAVEN. She shared a really neat quote by C.S. Lewis. He wrote this in a book called "A Grief Observed" after he lost his wife.

I think it's one of the best descriptions of how one feels after such a great loss. Thank God for the HOPE and promise we have of eternal life. Here's the quote:

Getting over it so soon? But the words are ambiguous. To say the patient is getting over it after an operation for appendicitis is one thing; after hes had his leg off it is quite another. After that operation either the wounded stumps heals or the man dies. If it heals, the fierce, continuous pain will stop. Presently hell get back his strength and be able to stump about on his wooden leg. He has got over it. But he will probably have recurrent pains in the stump all his life, and perhaps pretty bad ones; and he will always be a one-legged man. There will be hardly any moment when he forgets it. Bathing, dressing, sitting down and getting up again, even lying in bed, will be different. His whole way of life will be changed. All sorts of pleasures and activities that he once took for granted will have to be simply written off. Duties too. At present I am learning to get about on crutches. Perhaps I shall presently be given a wood leg. But I shall never be a biped again. CS Lewis

Yes, a part of you and your family is missing, but only for a short time according to God's time table. I believe it won't be long.

Praying for you, loving you and bearing this burden with you. Missing Brent as well. Let me be here for you.

Hey Tonya,

Missing you, and thinking of you tonight... Just wanted you to know.

Psalm 27

4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

Praying you through,

An Angels Kiss
by: Peggy Bouse

We go through life so often,
Not stopping to enjoy the day.
And we take each one for granted,
As we travel on our way.

For in your pain and sorrow,
An Angel's kiss will help you through,
This kiss is very private,
For it is meant for only you.
We never stop to measure,
Anything we just might miss.
But if the wind should blow by softly,
You'll feel an Angel's kiss.

A kiss that is sent from heaven,
A kiss from up above.
A kiss that is very special,
From someone that you love.
So when, your hearts are heavy,
And filled with tears and pain.
And no one can console you,
Remember once again...

About the ones you grieve for,
Because you sadly miss.
And the gentle breeze you took for granted,
Was just an Angel's kiss.

Hi - Was thinking about you during Thanksgiving - another hard and difficult first although I know Brent was/is always in your heart--even during fun road trips. Thanksgiving traditionally (the last 4 or 5 years) for me means the boys come home, but I do a marathon fund raiser for kids with cancer (kinda of obsessively & compulsively) as the supermarket has a captive flow of shoppers and I am allowed the special prevledge of staying inside near the express...i.e. lots of cash customers & change). Anyway, we feel that turkey can happen any time and this is how I want to spend several days prior to Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving day. However, when the crowds were thinning, or it was getting cold & late, or I was getting tired I had several children in particular that were in my heart which made me stay a little longer & then even a little longer. Anyway, chicken for my "boys" on Thanksgiving was just fine - a bird is a bird kinda!
Now, I have to admit that as soon as I saw your new pictures & a pile of leaves I had a strong sense of what was to come - just wasn't sure if there would be a vehicle of any sort involved. I am sure you will be finding little pieces of leaf from just that one day in that one pile in every nook and cranny for weeks to come. LOL Their smiles were worth it - and YES it is easy for me to say cause I won't be the one with leaves in my washing machine:)-XXOO - randy

Thanksgiving Day Grace

Our Father, fill our hearts, we pray,
With gratitude Thanksgiving Day;
For food and raiment Thou dost give,
That we in comfort here may live.
With bread of life our spirits feed
And grant to us the grace we need,
Guide Thou our feet lest they should stray
From paths of righteousness away.
True service may we render Thee
In love and deep humility;
Deliver us from every sin,
In His dear name we ask. Amen.

An Angel kissed my tears away
today when I was sad
I wasn't feeling quite myself
my day had been so bad'

I felt a warmth brush by me
that quickly dried my tears
A gentle, kind, and loving touch
that seemed to hold me near.

Immediately, I felt so much better
and the day seemed brighter too
I guess that's just the way you feel
when an Angel comforts you.

Your entry really touched my heart while it broke for you and rejoiced for the healing Brent received at the same time. There is a song called Find Your Wings that makes me think of Brent. It says "Let my love give you roots, and help you find your wings" In another part it says "I'll have tears as you take off, but I'll cheer as you fly" Your entry shows it is possible to do both at the same time.

Hey Tonya,

Wow, just thought I'd take a quick peak to see if you updated, and wow, what an awesome surprise. GREAT WORD siesta!

I loved that devotional, and truly it is my heart's desire to have my heart "steadfastly set to go to Jerusalem". Yep, God did not intend for us to get real comfortable here for sure.

He's constantly wooing us to come closer to HIM, and keep our focus FIXED on HIM, our prize! Amen?

You know, that is just what Brent did, and was the perfect example for us, this child was "STEADFAST" in his passion for Jesus. What a testimony... God knew the desires of his heart.

There is NO better answer to any prayer, then standing in the glory of God, face to face! (Can you imagine?)

Well sweetie, I better stop before I get to preaching way too much.

OH...I think it's so cute you're learning to sew. I actually learned to sew when my boys were young. I have funny story for you. I sat up and made a pair of PJ's for Joseph one night. It took FOREVER. Well the next morning he brought them to me with some scissors and said, "look mom I helped you cut my P.J's, and they were in pieces! I wanted to CRY!

Can't wait to see your pictures!!

Love you,

Susan

However, the background of lots and lots of trees - falling leaves - and the boys being so clean ummmm are you hiding the real Nason boys in Autumn action photos? I still chuckle at the bubble bath overflow - I just bet your guys have some leaf forts in the planning stages??? Thinking of you - hoping that you enjoy the weekend.....XXOO- Love, Randy

Your Brent is beautiful! I love checking your site and hope you are able to keep it up. If not, I'll have to check in on you on your blog. I remembered you in my prayers on the 28th as I kept having this nagging feeling I was forgetting something that day. I am so glad that you were able to experience joy on that day. I thought maybe seining the pond was like "noodling." My dad is from Oklahoma and it's a big thing to those "rednecks" to go noddling. I think they are truly crazy for letting catfish get caught on their arms in the murky water with who knows what in it. Oh well. Take care and know that I am still praying for you all.

A Treasured Gift

One gift, above all others,
God gives to us to treasure--
One that knows no time, no place;
One that gold can't measure--

The precious, poignant, tender gift
of Memory--for it keeps
Our dear ones ever in our hearts,
Though they have gone to sleep.

It brings back long remembered things--
A song, a word, a smile--
And the world's a better place because
We had them for a while!

I just want you to know that I check your site daily.......and I thought I would wish Brent a very Happy 12th birthday..........I can only imagine the party he will have. He is such a special boy......and he truly has inspired me. Tonya, I know I emailed you that I was visiting St. Jude this summer......what an experience. Even though there are kids suffering.....you can still see their joy as they ride their trikes around the hospital. There is a lot of support for St.Jude...in fact I met a couple who flew in from California just for the day to make a donation of children's books, toys and video games for the kids. I think it is wonderful that you are also showing us the Penelope and Sam fund. I followed little Penelope and still check in on her family.......you all have endured so much...thank you for sharing. I am thinking of you all, praying for your peace and comfort, and thanking you for allowing us to love your family. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

Hi Tonya,
Okay, at the risk of sounding like a total city slicker, I have to ask this question. What on earth is pond seining??? My husband is from a small town and I thought he might be able to shed some light. Nope!!

Here is a redneck story for you just so you know that your family is TAME! When I was a senior in high school, I worked at a pizza place in TYRONE, GA(T-shirts from there all say"Where the HECK is Tyrone?") At that time, it was a speck on the map, but now Atlanta has swallowed it up. Anyway, we had this delivery driver on staff named "Buddy"(not his real name). Buddy was as close to being Hank Williams Jr as Hank Williams Jr was. Buddy drove a jacked up pickup truck that he often went mud bogging in---are you nodding your head yet?? One night, Buddy left out with a pizza to deliver a few miles from the store. 45 minutes later, the hungry and angry customer called to report that my driver had not shown up yet. Buddy was my only driver b/c it was a weeknight in a small town and this was before everyone had cellphones. So, I had this irate customer and 4-5 other pizzas that were getting old. Buddy finally showed up, complained that the customer didn't give him a tip, and stalked off to soothe himself with a coke. I asked him why it had taken an hour and a half to get one pizza out. "Well, I was drivin' up Milam road and my headlights picked up those beady coon eyes staring me down. So, I went back home, got my coon dogs, and did a little coon hunting. Didn't get no coon and didn't get no tip...it just ain't my day!" Oh, but it was his last there at the pizza joint. Now, do you feel better, maybe a little less rouge in the neck?

Oh yeah, it is so fun to see that someone can still laugh over rolling. We live on the Jersey coast, I used to roll a friends jeep at night. He lived near the bay. So we would cover all but the tires, with the damp air he would have to scrape the paper off to go to work in the morning. Course he always managed to apply a little vaseline to my door handles, so getting in my car I never caught it till too late. But it was fun. Smiles are so healing. You just don't know what this post has done for my spirits.

Tonya,
Of course I don't mind you sharing my entry. Brent changed my life and made me believe without a doubt that God is all around us especially when we need him the most. I have told so many people about my visit with Brent and so has Kevin. I want others to know what he went thru and how thankful he was anyway to help put things in their life into perspective like he did for me and Kevin. I don't know if I ever told you this but after talking to Brent on the phone and hearing him talk about how "Super Hilarious" the Ernest movies were and his invitation to come meet him, I had to go! Unfortunately I couldnt afford to but Kevin knew how important it was to me so he made me take his paycheck for that week. I told him I wouldnt take his check and he said I wasnt taking it, he was giving it to me. We argued about it most of the night and finally around 2am he told me that he was getting up at 5am and we were going to Memphis, that he had gotten his check on Wednesday and couldnt figure out what to do with it so since it was Friday and he still didnt have anything to do with it that this must be what he was supposed to do. We took turns driving and he held my had the whole way there. I was so emotional the whole trip. After we got there and Brent was sleeping we went and toured SJ for a while and were impacted by the dedication walls and the pictures throughout. We finally got to see Brent and he took my breath away. I remember watching Link stroke his hand and the worry lines that were all over his face as he watched Brent doze occasionally. When we got back to the car I asked Kevin if the trip was worth his paycheck and he said it was worth every penny and that just being in that room changed him and made him feel at peace. He held my hand all the way home again. I am so proud of him and thankful that he has the loving heart that he does. I was talking to another woman who's son died in an accident and we were talking about angels and the presence of God. I told her that I didn't understand why someone like Brent had to be taken when there was so much good he could have done. She said she believes we are all put here for a purpose and that he had done the job he was put here to do. He did, and he still is.
Sorry to ramble on, I just wanted you to know it wasn't just me who felt so much on that day. I think there are many more that were touched by Brent, even if only thru the web page and pictures.

Hello Nasons!
You look like you have been having FUN in Mississippi! I bet Gabe will never forget this birthday!
I have been thinking about ya'll so much lately. Brent made an impact on me that will last forever. His whole journey has helped us out so much as we go through this storm with Hutton. Oh the things that your precious eleven year old taught ME! I thought I knew it all! Ha!
I miss him and I miss you all too. Thank you for sharing Brent with us! You'll never know what a precious gift that was to all of us.
We love you all!

well I didn't know what "rolling" was...you see it's always been called "TPing" where I came from. We've had it done to us before, too, only the people who did it also added eggs and put vaseline all over the place...you were much nicer!

Happy Sabbath Day Tonya,

Just peeking in to let you know how deeply this update has touched me. You are just so AMAZING.

I LOVE the way the Lord "orchestrated" the timing of the post and devotional, "once again"! Is He not amazing?

I'm so blessed Zach had a fun filled birthday and you guys stayed extra busy. Sounds like his party turned into an all-nighter! BOYS DO NOT SLEEP!

Thanks for sharing what Susan posted about her visit with Brent. Just reading about it sent chills down my spine. It makes you wonder how attached we get to the things of "this world" and there is just so MUCH MORE out there, just waiting for us.

As the writer from Mercy me said, "I CAN ONLY IMAGINE..." Now Brent does not have to!

Praying for you guys extra hard as the week goes on. I'll be heading over the the site you gave us today. What an honor to give back to people who give so much for our children.

Blessings to you my precious friend,

Susan

Brent has been on my mind so much lately. I only met him once right after Christmas but he made such an impact on me and my son. The presence in the room was so strong! He taught me to be thankful for what the Lord has given me and whenever problems start to make me feel like whining I remember what he said while we were there, "I wanna thank You Lord for everything you have given me." Those were the most powerful words I have ever heard given his condition at the time. If he could be thankful for what he was given in that condition then I have no reason to ever belly ache over silly stuff in my life. Thanks again for allowing me to meet him and for sharing his story with all of us out here. I hope others who come here have been just as amazed by your beautiful sweet boy as we were.
Happy Birthay Zach!

Dont hold me in your sorrow,
Dont shed those tears for me,
Ive found my heavenly tomorrow,
God has set me free.
Im in a better place,
I walk the streets of gold.
Im sheltered by Gods grace.
I have His hand to hold.
You never have to worry,

Good Morning my precious friend Tonya,

It is always so GOOD to hear from you. Girl, I miss those updates SO BAD...

I just love the way God arranges the devotional to always line up with your update. This has happened so MANY times before. Here's an example:

"If you are spiritually prepared when a crisis comes, you will not have to try to develop instantly the quality of relationship with Christ that can sustain you."

Tonya, I know (OK, I don't know, but can only imagine)even with the Lord, it is SO HARD to continue pressing on. HOWEVER, this I do know: Your love and passion for Him will always be such a source of HOPE, comfort and LIGHT to so many.

I believe you will tap into resouces you've never known before, and eternity will be stamped on your heart forever.

Truly this is how we are all "suppose to be living each day anyhow"!

I love this precious promise:

"He has made everything BEAUTIFUL in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."Ecclesiastes 3:11

I'm praying "EXTRA" hard for you and your family as all these "firsts" begin. I pray that God's comfort will surround you, uphold you, and He will FILL you with His peace in the days to come.

I'm also praying He will show himself to you again and again in very tangible ways on these events. Really I'm expecting to hear some amazing testimonies.

I love you Tonya. I'm hurting with you, I miss Brent like crazy.

Soon and very soon, we will be seeing the KING!

Hey Girlfriend,

Time to start that BLOG!!! I love you so much, you are such a testimony to me!

Tonya I found this little poem, and it had your name written on it:

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life
just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh
until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe
that there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you
that there really is an unlocked door
just waiting for you to open it...

Yes, you have been that friend to me...and so much MORE!

Thanks for being such a constant source of encouragement for me. Love you!

Tonya, I feel that it is your right to share whatever you want to with us on this website and please never, ever feel guilty or scared that you are not saying things exactly the way someone else thinks you should. We all grieve in different ways and everyone should respect that. You just hang in there and know that I am praying for you. In fact, while I was walking this morning I remembered that Brent's birthday was in the fall but I didn't remember the exact date so I said a prayer for you about that today and I will continue to pray with you about it. Just know that you and your family are so loved and that prayer warriors from all over are lifting you up to the Lord in prayer and praying that He will meet your every need. If you decide to have a blog; that's fine too. Just do what you feel led to do. Take care and may God bless.

This is the way I see things: This is your own personal website to post what ever you see fit. I love logging on and reading about how you, Link and the boys are doing. It is NOT a dishonor to Brent for you not to post how much you miss him. Those of us that know and love you, We know how deeply you love and miss Brent. I miss him too!! It is really sad that you feel you have to watch what you say on YOUR website as not to offend anybody! If people feel it necessary to ridicule you for your thoughts and feelings, I wish they would do it elsewhere! This site is for you, NOT THEM!!! Those of us that know you and your heart know you love Brent and will never dishonor him in any way!!! Kepp posting, I will keep reading!!! Ilove you Tonya! Just checking in to see how you were doing. I remebered Brent's day yesterday as it is right in between Ashley (sept. 29th) and Cody's (Oct 1st) birthdays. Whatever decision you make on the blogs is yours, I will read them either way if its here or on another blog. I don't believe you have ever dishonored Brents website in any way. And I don't believe Brent would ever think that either. Our thoughts and prayers are with you this month, as it will be a very hard 1st for you guys with the birthdays. I know we all got together and went out to eat, (yep about 28 of us total, geez we had too many kiddos huh lol, the poor waitress) for Dawn's birthday. It was hard but it was still so nice to get together and remember. We will be thinking about all of you.

As you go along your way....

And when we give Him all our cares

Seems difficult at best

Just remember, I'm here praying

Hope all is going well! Just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you all. It has been one year since "Brent Nason Day." (September 30)It was such a special day & I'm sure there are others who have thought about it too! I told Stanley the other day that I wished I had gotten a picture of Jeb with Brent. I really regret that! I would have liked to have one day shown Jeb the picture & told him Brent's story- what a special boy he was- a HERO to us all. I do still plan to tell him about Brent- just wish I had the picture to show. Just know that Brent & all of you are always in our hearts, & never too far from our thoughts.

Your writings make me think about my own life and whats important. Dont worry about pleasing everyone. Some people are just made to critize. Feel sorry for them and pray for them but don't let them knock the wind out of you. I know you are always striving to do your best. Don't ever forget that no matter what kind of mother you are, your are exactly what Brent loved and he still loves you. Stop beating yourself up or doubting yourself, thats what Satan wants you to do but God loves you just the way you are. I hope you have read the book, Captivating. If not, drop what you are doing and go get it. Every woman should read it.

Tonya, I pray for your family daily (sometimes more)and I want you to know that you should not worry about what others think of what you decide to share on this website. Brent will NEVER be forgotten and anyone that has followed this site for any length of time knows that you love him with all of your heart. If you choose to start a blog, we'll all follow you over there. You do what you feel is best.
I think I am going to go order that book that you're reading. I just bought a book this morning. I'll have to let you know how it is once I have a minute to open it. It's Ordinary Mom, Extraordinary God by Mary E. DeMuth. We brought our girly home last week. It's been a bumpy ride but with the Lord's help (This is His plan!)we'll all make it.
Lots of Love,

I can see in the words that you write here how you're trying to second guess what people could say about what you're writing. You shouldn't have to do that! You should feel free to write whatever you want here...if you think starting a blog would help with this then I say go for it!
As for Brent's birthday...there's no right or wrong way of "celebrating" it. I've known a lot of parents who've had losses and they've handled birthdays in so many different ways. Praying that the Lord would lead you so that you'll make that day a special one.
The Lord heard Jonah's prayers from the belly of a fish. He hears the cries of all His people! Praying so right now!

Tonya,
You are amazingly honest. My heart feels so broken for you when you speak of Brent but I know that someday I will meet your lovely boy in Glory and that you will be reunited with his wonderful soul. I have prayed many times for him before he was called home and many times since for your family. I check your site often and love to see the pics of the boys and see what they are up to next. I feel such a connection to you and I am sure it's because I am a mother and a daughter of Christ. I think that you are experiencing spritual healing but you needed to become raw before your God before that happened.
1 Peter 5:6-7 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
I have lost a baby from a miscarriage but I know that although I grieved deeply from that loss it can never compare to losing a child as you and others have. If you can, continue to update us. I love to pray for your precious family. My sister just moved to Mississippi. Are you near Biloxi at all?? Just wondering in case I get down there (it's a long haul from Minnesota) it would be so neat to meet you. Many blessings to you. You are always in my prayers.

Hi Tonya! I'm just getting my day started here this morning but just wanted to let you know that I'm now starting my day praying for and checking on my special friends and I'm so thrilled to have gotten to meet and spend time with you.

I really enjoyed our weekend. Susan had me praying for your family way back (her love for you just pours out) but my computer crashed in the spring and I had lost all my bookmarks. As soon as I saw your face at the hotel, I remembered Brent, and praying and believing with you all. You are now re-bookmarked (not sure that is a word) and someone I feel so honored to know.

You are awesome and have been such an encouragement to me. Please know how committed I am for praying for all of you.
much love, hope and courage

As soon as I read the song that you were starting to sing, I thought, "Oh, my goodness...there was a deer nearby!" How awesome is God to show Himself in such beautiful ways! I am so glad to hear about the healing taking place, but please know that you never have to apologize. God wants us near, yet He himself was separated from His own son in death (due to OUR sin) for a short time...He knows the pain and anguish you are dealing with. Thank you for sharing your struggles and showing us how human you are and how magnificent our God is! I don't sign in often, but I still check in and remember...

May they comfort all your sorrows.
May they help you win the fight.

May they keep watch on your soul.
May they show you better ways.
May they guard you while you're sleeping.
May they see you through your days.

May they show you new hopes.
May they still your every doubt.
May they calm your every fear.

May the angels keep you til morning.
More than this I cannot pray.
And if the angels ever fail you.
Then may God be there that day.

To my dearest Tonya,

My heart is overflowing with so much love for you, and I'm so GRATEFUL for all God did this past weekend.

I'm just so blessed you shared the story of the deer, it really touched me deeply and I had hoped you would let everyone know "GOD SHOWED UP" in a big way that night!

I read this scpriture this morning and immediately your face came to mind.

"Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness." Psalm 107:8,9

Your recap of the conference was so good. I lost all my notes, so my memory is not as sharp, and yes at my age I'm like Kay, I keep having those "deep moments"!!!

Something I did remember was Beth said, GOD WAS GOOD. Right now you are "giving thanks" for God's goodness in the midst of the most difficult days of your life.

Tonya I pray that He will CONTINUE to satify your hungry soul with HIS goodness. I don't think I've ever meet someone with such a PASSION for Jesus.

In Matt. 5:6 Jesus said;

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

I know this is only the beginning of the greatest work of God in your life Tonya. It gives me chills to think all He has in store.

For now, take it one day at a time. I'll continue to pray for you, Link and especially the boys. Oh...and for you MOM! How upsetting... PLEASE KEEP US POSTED!

I'm sending more love then words can express, and girlfriend, I miss you so much already. Let's start making some plans SOON.

One blessed friend,

Susan

Precious Tonya, I am a friend of Susan Amato's. I have been praying for you and all the ladies who attended the conference. Now, I am giving thanks to our awesome God, for HIS perfect direction of the speakers there. HE had planned all this for you and the others, knowing that NOW is the appropriate time for you in your life to have these things revealed to you. HE does love his children perfectly, and as you said in your closing, we all should long for the return of our Lord and Savior, or something is not right. I was listening to a CD by Wintley Phipps and when he sang "Until Then" I realized that I am really not at home on this earth, but just waiting and working until my God takes me to my REAL home. Just before my grandmother passed, she told me that as more of our loved ones and close friends "move to Heaven," the more Heaven really becomes our warm, cosy waiting home. She is right.

Love in the beautiful name of Jesus.

PS: If you have not discovered Wintley Phipps, Google him, or check him out on Amazon. He has a vocal gift from God.

Hey Girl~ I am so sorry that you're having a rough time right now but that is to be expected! I cannot imagine even one day without a moment! Even here in Pa, Brent's name comes up, or yours even... We(our church) were all checking the site daily and praying for you for so long that they all ask if I still keep in touch with you. I, too, am just getting the schooling underway. It has been a rough couple of months with Michael ove r this summer and I have had so many irritating times and God has really put my attitude toward him(Michael) in check- I try so hard to pray and thank God every day for my kids and even though they fight like cats and dogs and they are always in my face- I LOVE them and I am so thankful for them!!! Even when I NEVER get a break, I am thankful for each of them! Thank God you have Zach and Gabe to love on and see Bent through them as well! They are so handsome and have such FUN little spirits!!! I always love to hear little funnies when you update! Well- my eyes are hardly open- the morning comes so fast lately! Drop me a line when you have time! Sweet Tonya and Link and boys:

I am praying for you daily. When I was in the WORD this morning I read this. Thought you would like to read it too.

Phil. 1:2-6

2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

This scripture is so reassuring, isn't it. Love to you all.

I hope Susan's comments means you two get to get together! Hope you have an amazing time together!
Have to share these verses on a regular basis because they're so very comforting. Knowing that there are people out there praying is one thing, but knowing that the Holy Spirit Himself is praying...what greater comfort could there be?
Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Romans 5:1-5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Ephesians 6:10-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

How true your story is about the goat-- It is an excellent reminder to us all how when in the midst of life, we want to go our way and yet God's ways and thoughts are not ours. Tiny Angel

Tiny Angel rest your wings
sit with me for awhile.
How I long to hold your hand,
And see your tender smile.
Tiny Angel, look at me,
I want this image clear...
That I will forget your precious face
Is my biggest fear.
Tiny Angel can you tell me,
Why you have gone away?
You weren't here for very long...
Why is it, you couldn't stay?
Tiny Angel shook his head,
"These things I do not know...
But I do know that you love me,
And that I love you so".

Hi Tonya, I wanted to stop by and tell you thank you. I came across Brent's site after he had earned his ^angel wings^, but Brent has made a big difference in my life. I looked at his story and his links and the children on the links. I have since become an avid supporter of all of the children I can in their fights and lifting up prayers for them and their families. Brent must have been a wonderful gift from God. He has touched so many lives in so many ways that you probably can't even imagine. I know that I have spread the word through my church, friends and prayer warriors on the internet and my family. If Brent has spread that much through one little person such as myself, just think of all the thousands and thousands that are still being touched. Thank you for sharing Brent's journey, taking the time to create a beautiful web page, taking the time to add all the other children that are or were fighting also. May God bless you richly.

Stubborn as a goat in your "neck of the woods" - on this coast it was stubborn as an "ox" ummmmm Guess ATTITUDE is universal! Glad to see you are doing well and somehow probably the worlds softest "toughy" title might just apply to you Tonya. Do the boys actually chuckle when you crack the whip as the new you??? My husband (Neil) was/is always the softy in our house so the first time he kinda lost it and was extremely angry at the boys - we just all laughed at him - it was so out of character. For me - I am the yeller - screamer - and generally ignored parent to my stubborn critters:)

Checking in to see how you were doing and seen your update. I think its wonderful that the boys do things or say things as Brent did. They learned from a wonderful young man. His footprints will be in their hearts for the rest of their lives. I know with us 3 kids, when we are doing something or saying something my mom and others will say oh my you sounded just like Dawn (my sister in Heaven). My mother says its a wonderful thing and she cherishes those moments to have a glimpse back of Dawn. So I say savor the moments when you see Brent's wonderful disposition or some of his ways come out with Zach and Gabe. Remember we are all raised together so although we are different so many things are the same. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Tonya - It is so funny to me how my perspective in so many ways differs in regard to interpretation. When you talk about all three of your boys I think it is GREAT - WONDERFUL that they share/possess so very many loving - kind - fun personality traits. You worry that it is going to be intpreted as not appreciating them as individuals. That's not what I "hear" when I read your words. Although you didn't clone the "good stuff" they most certainly learned by example....and what better role models your little guys have had than their amazing mom, dad and big brother Brent?? So, never fear, it is ONLY in the most loving, complimentary and motherly way that you (and all who care about you) find pride & comfort in ALL your sweet boys personality overlaps.... - even the ones that leave lots of boy dirt behind:)for mom to deal with!

Well just as I was about to come here and give you a polite but gentle nudge to update - at least your pictures before you forgot your NEW skill -you beat me to it (at least with the journal part). I am always so willing to smile and enjoy your vacations vicariously. They sound so much better when your kids are dirty - than it did when mine were or travel bickering about something/someone or the ever pre-car dvd - "how much longer tune?" And yet - I miss even that - who would have thought??? Empty nesting moment vs senior one I suppose/hope!! Thanks for indulging me:)
It is amazing to me just how many of your Brentisms have stuck. When you chatted about Zach and Gabe's dislike for veggies - I flashed back to when you all went health food wild as just another one of your commitments to helping Brent. You see, your sharing Brent and all your family love really did sprinkle a little bit of your special guy into all our hearts and memory banks.
Enjoy the rest of the summer - and share - because all too soon it will be school and the books (never the teacher) the boys will be complaining about instead of veggies!!

Good Morning Tonya,

Thanks for the great update, gosh... I sure miss coming here daily for your awesome journals.

No matter what you were going through, you always managed to bless, encourage us, and always put a smile on our faces. You continue to amaze me Tonya.

I love your spirit, your spunk, and your great big HEART for Jesus!

I was so blessed you guys got away and did some fun things. I know no matter where you go, Brent will always BE MISSED. I think of him everyday. I'm just so grateful to know where our buddy is, and how happy, fulfilled and completely WHOLE he is now.

I find comfort knowing in only a "blink of an eye" (in our time frame) we will all be together again. This time with no sickness, no sorrow, no tears, just doing what God created us to do, WORSHIP HIM!! Oh, what a glorious day that will be...

Meanwhile we need to keep busy speading His love, His word and HOPE to all we meet.

Have a blessed day, you're the BEST!

A LETTER FROM HEAVEN

"To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

"It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do,
and foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you... in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years,
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too....
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and in pain,
then you can say to God at night... "My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented.... that my life has been worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.... you're coming here to me.

Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Hi there - you certainly must have a very fattening summer planned with all those birthday celebrations. I was kinda thinking that maybe a little Ben & Jerry's would be in order to go with those b'day cakes in honor/with thoughts of your special guy!!!
Hope Ashley is feeling better - once the surgery is behind her. As for the tongue shrinking....well my friend there have been days where that idea would certainly have appealed to me - and NOT for medical reasons:)
Jarred came home last weekend to umpire 8 baseball games...and get his laundry done too. Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When dealing with the unknown there can be a lot of fear. So I wanted to find a verse about fear and, of course, the first place I always look is in the Psalms. I started looking at the verses and realized that the majority of them spoke of the true fear that we should all have. So I decided to share this passage today. Praying as always!
Psalms 34:6-9 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Doing something different today. This hymn came to mind and the words are so powerful, I just had to share them:

1. What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Ev'rything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Ev'rything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our ev'ry weakness--
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our Refuge--
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He'll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Good Morning - I thought we somewhat agreed that I would do the worrying (my skill/talent) and you would be in charge of multi-tasking and sharing - especially as it relates to those precious boys. I so enjoyed the pictures and remembering my guys (in retrospect) the cooperative years, beach days and in truth a little control. Glad your tests came back A-OK (I had Jason check for me as we were away. IF I was high-tech I could have signed the guest book via Neil's blackberry, but...). Anyway, I couldn't just enjoy being away if I was "supposed" to be worrying!!
By the way, the boys aren't the only ones who look wonderful - love your new hair cut/color and the smile on your beautiful face as you are loving your little guys. The twinkle in your eye must be because as you are hugging Zach and Gabe your thoughts are of Brent too!!! Difficult as it is - keep enjoying and loving Zach and Gabe and your time together that YOU make so much fun for them. Anyway, gotta go do Neil's errands and, of course, catch up on get away laundry backup.
Love,

To my dearest Tonya,

OH MY...where have I been, on another PLANET??? I can't believe I missed all your updates! I feel TERRIBLE.

Well, PRAISE GOD for your GOOD REPORT! I'm with you on getting things checked out. I don't like any "lumps or bumps either!" He He...

Now the pictures... whew, your sons are so handsome. Let me warn you now, (speaking from much experience) start praying for their "godly" wives now!

You will be BOMBARDED with girls falling in love with your sons. Let's pray away the wrong ones! Now,I know you have some time before that, but gosh, they are just too cute!

I'm so blessed you made that rode trip, gosh...some good medicine for your soul. Looks like you all had a great time, and I think it's really neat Joni got to come. Now you know what kind of effect Brent had on his nurses!

I think it's GREAT Zach is playing the guitar, hey we may have another "Chris Tomilin" on our hands! Come on Zach!

Well sweetie, don't want to take you your whole guest book, but wanted you to know I came by today.

I'll continue to pray for the bumps to be gone in Jesus name, Amen!

Sending some big hugs your way,

Susan

PS Don't want to embarrass you Tonya, but you look so beautiful in your pictures...

Missing the funnies from your angel, Brent. I think it is neat that you still continue the friendships with Brent's nurses. What a special place they must hold in your life.

Praising GOD for the sunshine he continues to put in your life. Thanks for updating us and keep clicking those sweet memories. (sweet..sweet...pictures)

Glad you are treating YOURSELF to some special time (even if Link has to read about it on Brent's site too) with your little guys. Dear Gabe, I know you do not know me but I've been praying for you and your family for a while now. I have asked the Lord to hold you in the palm of His Hands and the Holy Spirit to mend your hearts in peace. If you had had your own e-mail, I would have sent this letter to you. I just wanted to say WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! How does it feel to know you have caused a party in Heaven? I feel certain that Brent was leading the "HALLELUJAH'S" as the angels joined in. You have a precious Godly heritage with your family...especially your mom. Sometimes I forget that I have never really met her except through Brent's site. I remember the day I made Jesus the Lord of my life and was elated to find out that my name had been written in the Lamb's Book of Life. I was 21 years old and didn't have the privilege of being raised in a Christian home like you. Oh, if I could have only known Him as a child like you. You are in for the biggest blessing life has to offer. Just like Samuel, who was only 4 years old when he heard God calling him, you, too, will hear His voice. As you being to talk to Him and read your Bible, expect Him to speak to you. He has promised to NEVER, EVER LEAVE you or forsake you. I pray that your eyes will be enlightened that you may know, understand and perceive the love of God that has been shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit. I pray that you have a hunger and thirst for righteousness and for His Word....I pray that every word fall in good ground (in your heart) to take root and grow strong and He will mightily use you for His kingdom. I know you already know all these things because your mom has been ministering these promises to you since the day you were born.....I got so excited when I read about your desire to become a Christian I got carried away (I'm told I do that a lot). Anyway, I'm proud of you and I'm glad I have a new brother in the Lord! In Christ, Piper Ham

Dearest Tonya,

Tears of joy as I read about Gabe giving his heart to Jesus. Gosh, there is NOTHING on this earth I desire more for my children then them knowing, loving and serving Jesus.

You were so blessed to witness such a rare and beautiful relationship with Brent. But really, most of the mightiest men of God were called at a very, very young age. Some of the Kings of Israel were young, or should I say "little boys".

Link and you have taught them well, not only by word, but your LIFE screams "Jesus", and they see this daily.

I know God is up to many wonderful things for your sons. As I always say, "He's got a plan"...it's always good, even when we don't understand.

PS 103:17 "But from everlasting to everlasting
the LORD's love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children's children-

Rejoicing with you!

I am so excited for Gabe and for you and Link. It is a wonderful feeling when our children accept Christ as their Savior. We had a smiliar experience with our youngest son when he was about 7. He told us he wanted to be "bappatized". He was so impressed when someone would get baptized so he wanted to do it too. So we were like you and Link; when he did come to us wanting to be saved we just had to have that same reassurance so I totally understand where ya'll are coming from. Again, I am so proud to have another brother in Christ. You all are continually in my prayers. May God Bless.

Blessed Father's Day
For Fatherly Guidance

Lord God, author of all wisdom,
Teach me how to do my work as a father according to your will.
Enlighten my mind that I may understand what to tell my children when it is necessary to give them direction or advice.
Give me good judgment to understand true spiritual values and to guide my family in your ways.
The world makes little of your wisdom and is not instructed in your ways, and close contact with the world makes it easy to become dulled to the things of solid spiritual worth.
Be my guide at all times, that I may be a true father and husband, sensitive always to the divine wisdom that only you can impart.
God, by the light of the Holy Spirit you instruct the hearts of your faithful.
Grant that I may be truly wise and ever enjoy his consolation, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Praying for you,

These words have always given me great comfort. Know that I'm praying!

To my dearest Tonya,

Oh my, what a joy and a major "BLESSING" it was to read your update. I've missed you so much.

I loved seeing those boys again, and the girls are just precious too. Sounds like you had a great time away. Just what the doctor ordered! Hope you start making more trips, like one down to Baton Rouge, I've got something to dig for down here too...he he!!! Come on girlfriend!

Tonya, on a serious note, I will be in prayer for Mr. Sam. I'm so sorry to read this news. I'll begin praying now, and continue to. Believing the procedure will go WELL, and he will recover quickly.

I found a really neat quote today and put it on Jordan's page. I want to share it with you, I know you will just love it:

"We are not citizens of this world trying to make our way to heaven; we are citizens of heaven making our way through this world.

That radical Christian insight can be life-changing. We are not to live so as to earn Gods love, inherit heaven, and purchase our salvation. All of those are given to us as gifts; gifts bought by Jesus on the cross and freely handed over to us. Rather, we are to live as Gods redeemed, as heirs of heaven, and as citizens of another land; the Kingdom of God. We live as those who are on a journey home; a home we know will have the lights on, the doors opened wide, and our Father waiting for us with outstretched arms when we arrive. That means that even in adversity our worship is joyful, our life is hopeful, and our future is secure. There is nothing we can face on this Earth that can rob us of the treasures, which God has prepared for us, and will give us on that wonderful day when we enter into His glorious presence to live with Him forever. (Anglican Digest)

Missing you like crazy,

Susan

Hi Tonya - Busy is good - but sharing is even better. So great to see new pictures of Zach, Gabe and your nieces too. The boys (and the girls) are just too cute, getting so big and the photos that you took that makes us wonder what they are up to are the best. You really capture their fun loving personalities. Can't imagine the expression on their faces had they actually "found" a diamond!!! Next time. Hope all goes well for Link's dad and that good news will be a well deserved bonus for the family this weekend being sensitive to the fact that it is Father's Day. I know Zach and Gabe will help make it special for Link and that treasured thoughts/memories of Brent will add joy to the day. Looking forward to more summer fun sharing.

Time...such a simple word, such a complicated topic. Sometimes it flies by so quickly you truly don't know where it went. Yet it can also seem to stand still. I looked it up in a concordance and it's used 573 times in the Bible. It's used in so many different says. One thing I've learned by stopping by so many pages is just how precious time is.
This is a very special verse about time:
Psalms 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

Was checking in this morning and was happy to see your update. I am glad that you are busy. It makes days go by faster. The wedding is over and was beautiful. Jason and Heidi did a memory table for my sister Dawn and Heidi's step dad,and also included a ton of pictures of them in the slide show it was beautiful and a wonderful surprise to our families. Now that things should slow down with the wedding done, we will start checking back in more often. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Tonya~ It is so exciting to get a new update from you but I do think that the longer in between updates just means that you are too busy having fun with the boys that the times that you can sit and do an update are fewer and farther in between! Thanks God for fun BUSY days, weeks, and months!!! It is good to hear fun stories! I can't wait to see pictures! I still have the picture of your family on the fridge with the boys in their polo shirts- I am so sure they are huge now!!! Well- I will talk to you soon. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Romans 5:6-8 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

To my dearest Tonya,

It's 3:30am, I'm up, and I've been thinking of you and praying.

I read something by Nancy Guthrie earlier tonight and thought I would share it with you. She is the one who wrote the book, "One Year of Hope" after she lost 2 children:

"Suffering helps us savor the promise of heaven. My
husband, David, often said that our daughter, Hope, and
our son, Gabriel, were not born for this life but for the
next. They were unable to see or hear or function in this
world and were ushered quickly into the next. Their
brief lives opened our eyes to the reality that this life, for all of us, is preparation for the next.

Suffering and sorrow in this life invites us to set our
sights on heaven, to anchor our thoughts and our hearts
desires beyond the ordinary things of this earth. This life
is not all there is, and neither is it the best there is. Our suffering reminds us that there is something better, somewhere better, Someone better than any thing, any place,
or any person who has captured our devotion in the here
and now. Our greatest hope is not in a long, comfortable
life on this earth, but in our forever life with Christ.

AMEN? I could of quoted YOU saying this same thing so many different ways.

Praying for God's love to sustain you, and the prayers of all the saints to carry you.

I miss you my friend...

Hi - Just wanted to check on all of you and let you know that I am thinking about you. Gotta confess - it is just me today - the boys are all vacationing in the Bahamas. Except for the worrying - I really am happy that they had this "boy bonding" special time together. I will feel much better when they are back in the USA and I am knee deep in their dirty laundry.
Any special summer plans now that school is almost complete for this year?? I think a Nason Family Fun Time should definately be on the agenda. Wish I lived closer to volunteer for pet duty - your pups are so cute. Jason used to bring home all the fraternity pooches during vacations - they were sweet - but truly UGLY. We used to laugh that the boys adopted the ugliest puppies they could find so that they would get lots of pity dates.
Well, hope Zach & Gabe are staying out of trouble - and if not, please share. Still chuckle just thinking about bubbles and bubbles and bubbles!!!
Love,
Randy

Good Friday Afternoon to the Nasons!

TGIF!!!! Hope you are all doing well today! Sorry I haven't checked in lately. I tried to get on the site a couple of days and I guess our internet here at work was not working properly. I am anxious to see some pictures of the boys. I know they will be so glad when "school is OUT!"
I bet their Mama will be too!!! Take care and have a blessed weekend.

Love,
Ranae
