Sorry its been awhile. We have been battling cancer with a family member that won his heavenly battle.You and your family are always in our prayers and thoughts. Hi Cameron,
This is your 3rd cousin, Judi Sullivan (Wilcoxson), the last time I contacted you was on 05/22/03, and I was on my way to Ireland. Well, now, after four years, I have been to Ireland twice, moved back home to Nevada, got married, then lost my husband to cancer. I noticed that you've turned into to a cowboy. Well, your 4th.cousin, Wednesday, her husband, Damien, and their daughters, Montana (9 years) & Shawnee (7 years) live on a ranch in Wyoming, where they ranch everyday. It would be wonderful if all of you could get together, I think you'd really enjoy that life. I'm going up there in July, that's when they have Rendevzous, that's where they have a re-enactment of the mountain men meeting the Indians, and selling their fur pelts to traders, it's very exciting, it's the second weekend in July. If you like country music, Montana, my granddaughter's dad, is Trent Wilmon, he's a country music artist. Last summer Montana and Shawnee went with him on his concert tour, so they got to travel on his bus for quite awhile, and loved it. I hope to be re-united with your family, so I hope to hear from you. I'm so proud of you for being such a fighter, I wish our country had more MEN like YOU!!!!

Great job on your poem! I sent a copy of your poem to my sister in law since a couple of her nieces/nephews have diabetes, too. Sorry to hear about your migraine. I get super painful headaches now and then, too, but mine are due to an allergy, when the wind stirs up the desert dust and when the barometer drops. It doesn't seem fair that you should have to cope with migraine headaches, too, on top of everything else you have to put up with. Sheesh! However, I do think that you are very blessed to live in the country and have a horse and so many friends and people that love you, with your Mom at the top of that list. I am not sure if you will remember me but I am one of the Mid Missouri Corvette Club members. I was a pleasure meeting at the 2005 Holiday party and then again at the Club Car Show. I am sorry that my wife and I could not make it to the holiday party for the Dream Factory this year but we had alot of things going on. Good news @ the bp!!! I hate hearing that some of our kids r relegated to bp meds during & after tx. Do u guys know the Henry's? Meghan is 17, was dx last Sept. St. II/FH, but was just told last week she has relapsed in both lungs - Meghan uses St. Louis Childrens. Poor Lisa was more worried @ my reaction!

Jon really liked your pic. The car is cool. He is a Nascar fan as well and his Make a Wish is being planned for him to meet Jeff Gordon at Talledega in October. He is really excited about that. We like Edwards, he is one of the local boys from down around were we live. So if Gordon or Johnson can't win we root for him too. We also have a friend that use to drive for Mark Martin and he is going to arrange for us to meet him too sometime. It sounds like you and Jon have a lot in common and would be good friends. Oh, I hate that Cam has light skin (like me). I burned all the time when I was younger. But to be so scared. I've been teaching Laurel how important it is to put on sunscreen while we are at the waterpark (she doesn't have half the fun Cameron does!). She will allow me to do her 2x only. thankfully, she does not burn easily. But she too is conscious of skin cancer.

I found your website from another baby with bilateral WT (my baby has the same). I have only had time to read the amazing story about the angels you saw, and the nerve wracking experience your family went through as they waited over the weekend for your surgery.
When my baby was first diagnosed, we went to an Easter Sunday service at the hospital. It was outside. Devin kept looking up at the sky, between the trees, and he would reach with his hand and "talk" as if he saw angels and was talking to them. I am so happy to hear that there are children that do well.

I can't wait for us to get together again- time just has a way of sneaking past us! Hopefully now that Christmas is over, we can all find the time to get together again!
There is a very stinky reason that Dawson is not in the picture- He was having a low blood sugar! That is how he rang in the New Year, sitting on a chair feeling like poo and not cooperating with drinking or eating anything- you both know how that is- if your brain is not understanding that you need to eat/drink- then you don't... stinky diabetes! Hey Cam- if it makes you feel any better we are having to change Dawson's pump site every other day too. His sites just seem to go bad sooner. We had to start doing that a couple of months ago and it has really helped improve Dawson's blood sugars. I promise that I will call you soom Carla! We miss you all too!

Sorry I haven't been to your site lately, but just read about your Washington DC trip. Sorry it was a bit rough & scary to start, but glad it ended up well and that you got to see a bunch of the wonderful things there are to enjoy. My son Mike took me there this past spring and I just loved it. We walked (ran) from one place to another and took in everything we could - it was wonderful. Next time you go, call your congressman's office first. We did and were able to get a guided tour of the Capital. It was really great. I hope all is well now and that you are feeling good. I am IN SHOCK to hear that ANY first grader has actually READ 440 books! Just thinking about reading that many books makes me feel downright dizzy. I wonder how many floor to the cieling tall piles of books that is? You must be reading more than one book a day, I think, in order to have read so many in only a year. There are only 365 days in a year and you have read 440 books!

My name is Miriam and I have gotten to know your Mum on the pumping list. You have one fantastic Mum ( she must get that from you!). we love the pump too. Grace is five years old (6 next month) and was diagnosed 18mths ago. We are still getting to grips with it but having gotten the pump has made it much better. We are from Ireland and here only about 20 kids have pumps but there are 2500 kids with T1.
My son is 9yrs and very glad he doesn't have Diabetes. Their Dad died three years ago. We miss him so much. Some kids seem to get lots more "reality" to deal with than others. Here's hoping you have all had your quota! Just sending you hugs and rainbows. Give your Mum one from us too. You are in our thoughts and prayers and we'll be lighting candles for you. I'm so glad that you are doing so well after your wilms surgery and you are handling your diabetes well. I am a wilms survivor also and a diabetic for 10 years now. I am a grandma now but I had wilms when I was a baby, at age 11 months, in 1956 so I am a 49-year survivor. You are such an inspiration to other wilms survivors and you have been so strong through everything you've had to go through. I think it is neat that you like horses. Cameron- I love that picture. You look so grown up! Hope school is going good for you. You had conferences and report cards already haven't you? Did your teacher say all kinds of mushy things about you? Dawson had a good report card and Amanda is going to pick those two C's up to B's and we will feel much better. She thinks that for Middle School a couple of C's are okay. We had a little talk about that.
All three of m y kids LOVE hot chocolate! But they don't like marshmallows in it as much as I do. We can't wait to see you again.
Carla- sorry I have been so bad about getting back to you lately. Just seems like it is one thing after another around here. We are thinking we may be in Columbia around Valentine's weekend. The twins have their first gymnastic meet and we would love to be ther efor that. We are also going to have to start planning Jordan's END OF CHEMO party! She has her last treatment on the 7th of February (we hope) and she wants ot have ot at the bowling alley. :) So I wil keep you updated on that as well. Hope we get together soon.

I'm so glad the doctor said not to worry about the microalbumin right now. My policy is that if the doctor isn't worried, I won't either. :)
Glad to hear you have the back up pump. What a hassle that must be. We have a portable IV pump right now for Alex's vancomycin (he has a staph infection in his central line) and that is a bear to have to mess with all the time. Yuck. Hope you like yours fairly well. Guess anything is better than shots all the time!!!

I saw a post from your mom on Insulin-Pumpers, and saw the link to your website. I'm so impressed! I learned a lot about you from the website. One is that you must live in Missouri. So do I, in Kansas City. And there was mention of the outlet mall. My son lives close to the mall at Osage Beach. AND you're a first grader! Well, I taught first graders in Alaska for many years. Cameron, Wow!!! You are one awesome dude!! I'm Jen, and my son is 7 (in second grade). We are a Wilms family, too! ;) We even used to live in Missouri...in St Charles( near St Louis)...but we moved back to IL a little over a year ago. I'm so glad to hear you are doing well and I am going to keep you in my prayers that your blood sugar stays just where it should be and you have no other complications. God is right with you all the time and He sends his angels to fly with you, wherever you go.

Is it really hot and sticky where you are? It's really not good here...lots of rain and thunderstorms...makes it hard to go play sometimes, but we are keeping busy inside. Alex has to have school at home for a while until his counts get strong enough that he can be with all those other kids. We hope that's soon!! :) Alex liked summer vacation but he wants to be with his classmates. I bet you like to be there, too, don't you?

I could say all the same things that everyone else has said,
but you already know how great you are, so let's not go over
that part again, haha. My daughter (age 12) also has diabetes. She is scared of getting the pump, but you know
how girls are (besides having germs) they are afraid of
EVERYTHING! I will make her read some of your website later.

As for bee stings, toothpaste is the preferred choice. And
I have tested this on my 2 year old, works great. Not sure
if wasps and bees are the same tho, but worth a try if there
is a next time.

So, do you have a girlfriend? Or are you already married?

Hi Cam, I also have an Animas pump. I have been thinking about a name for it but haven't come up with anything as yet.
Would you mind if I called it "Cam" in honor of you.

I am a tour guide in the Everglades. If you ever get down here to Miami, I would love to have you on my tour. We go out on airboats and then see alligator wrestling.

I've had my pump for almost 9 years (actually two successive pumps) and it has been so much better with the pump than it was before the pump. We (us diabetics)have got to "stick together"! I have a MiniMed 511 pump, and LOVE It! I can eat cake and ice cream again! Hope that you like it as much as I like mine. My pump is named

Cameron, I read about you on the insulin-pumpers list. I've used a pump for almost 6 years, and I sure wish I'd had one when I was growing up -- it is a big help when insulin needs change, which will certainly happen as you grow. Congratulations Cam in getting approved for an insulin pump! I love mine. It can be a lot of work at times, but it lets you do cool stuff (such as sleeping in, and running around with eating, or eating an extra snack without an extra shot). Good luck!

I have never had any problem getting pregnant, or holding a pregnancy and the doctors have no idea why???? It is extremely frustrating to me. I don't know if I am willing to invade God's plan to go through infertility etc. but I just want to know why? I wonder sometimes if something is in store for Kamryn's future that God knows I will not be able to handle a baby? I hate to think that way, but I don't like not having answers to things. I can totally understand where you are coming from! Keep your head up and be thankful that Cameron is still here for you to hug and hold!!!

I'm so sad to hear about the baby...Katey was supposed to be a big sis in April 2002...but we did get an angel baby in heaven. Sometimes Katey looks up and sez she sees her little sissy there playing in the clouds. Sometimes she sees a beautiful sunset and sez angel baby painted it for us. Wow, where did the summer go?!? Just when things were getting so fun, too. Its neat to hear you will be able to talk to the Principal and Cam's new K teacher. Cameron is such a cool kid, everyone in school is gonna love him! Make sure the district nurse and the school nurse are fully aware of everything. It helps to talk with them (You'll feel better too) to set up a plan of care depending on Cam's sugars and also quick measures to fend of an insulin reaction, get everything written down for them to refer to. We will be praying for Cameron's start in school, that everything would go smoothly~that Cameron's sugars would be well managed and that the teachers and kids in the class be the perfect fit for him. I love the picture of you with your friends & the quilt your friend made. (I hope I got that all correct!) Congrats, too, on such a terrific year! You had a lot to battle and cope with, and you did it, Bud. Cameron, Your website is really neat, your Mommy did a great job! We had so much fun playing with you Sunday, Lance's nephew Brandon had a lot of fun too, he did not want you to leave but he had to leave too and get back to St. Louis. We will have to do that again when he comes over. This summer, Lance and I will teach you to water ski as you requested last year, if you still want to learn. We ran out of time last year with Molly being born and then it got cold. You will also have to come over and swim with us. Molly starts swim lessons next week! We are so glad you are doing better and hope it continues that way.

This is a great website. We're going to tell everyone about it at the Team Captains meeting tonight. I'm really glad to hear your doing better. I'm sorry that I haven't been in touch with you more, but I promise to do better. I won't get to see you at the Relay this year, I probably won't be able to make it until early in the morning on Saturday, I have 8 other Relay in different cities I have to visit. Cameron, you are the most precious little boy in the whole world to me. There are not enough words to express how much I LOVE YOU. You have been through so much for just being 5 years old. Most adults never have to deal with what you have in their entire lives. You are so brave and wise way beyond your years. After you were diagnosed with diabetes I tried so hard to give you a shot and couldn't. The very next day you gave yourself a shot just so you could come stay with me. You were way braver than me.
