**My beautiful daughter, Kamryn**
Kamryn Mackenzie Daste Born May 18, 2000 Dx St. IV FH Wilm's Tumor 02/03/03
What lies behind us and what lies before us are nothing compared to what lies inside us!
Kamryn was diagnosed with Stage IV Favorable Wilm's Tumor on February 03/2003. She has had 3 surgeries, 2 weeks of radiation and 24 weeks of 3 drug chemotherapy.
Despite all that Kamryn has been through she is now 14 months off treatment and in remission!
**This is the poem I read at the RFL in August**
How do butterflies fly? All the "why's" and the tears she cries.
"I did it mom, look at me!" "When I grow up I wanna be..."
Kisses in the middle of the day, Daddy, come and play.
Toys lying all over the house, Trying to sneak out of bed quiet as a mouse.
For our evening meals, Healing a cancer that could kill.
Tucking her into bed every night, Praying, Lord help us to win this fight.
Watching her breathe, Thanking God for:
NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE!!
THE OFFICIAL CANCER FAMILY DANCE!!
Take one step forward...now two steps back....now two steps forward....and five steps back....now 3 steps forward.....and now two thousand five hundred twenty eight steps back!!
Journal
Thursday, May 14, 2009 11:32 AM CDT Hello there!
This will be my closing journal entry as I am having the binded book made for memories for Kamryn and us.
This journal has been my outlet through the roughest time in my life as a mommy. I was able to pour my heart into this journal for both Kamryn and I. I wanted her to have something for when she made it through her cancer. I wanted to have somewhere where I could come to update the people who loved her the most.
Caringbridge was that place.
Kamryn is doing very well! She is going to be 9 in a few days and she is just wonderful. She talks our ears off with 9 year old drama, talks about boys she likes, and problems she has. She is healthy and we love it. She is wise beyond her years, just like we knew she would be. She is an amazing big sister and a wonderful daughter!
We are blessed to have her!
Thank you to everyone who followed her story and prayed for her, and us. Without all of you it would have been much harder to bear the stresses of life of a cancer family!
Love you all!
