Just a message of love and hope to you, Scotty, and your family! Wishing you a Happy Easter next Sunday!!

Our son Logan was 18 months old when he was dx December 24, 1998--stage 4 NB-- went through all the same treatment as Scotty, right down to the yucky accutane after his stem cell transplant! When our son, Logan was in treatment, we were always seeking to hear from long-term survivors-- to offer us some hope-- but didn't hear from any. So I make it a point these days to try tell others about our son Logan who is now 10.5 years old and very active- still cancer free- praise God!!! I hope that this story is a little ray of sunshine to you on those days when clouds of fear hover. Scotty will be in our prayers for continued health!

Happy Valentine's Day, Scotty Boy. I was just reading your journal entry from a year ago. Wow! You have grown up so much in the past year. You have been through so much. How life has changed. Have a great day, buddy! - Love, Nana

Monday, February 14, 2005 7:36 AM CST

Happy Valentine's Day! Scott had a good weekend running around the house - tied to his saline pump, but nevertheless, he was home. Laura said he gave her quite the dirty look when she hooked him up to the pump again yesterday. Every 24 hours the bag has to be changed. He knows that he's attached to the backpack and motions for it when he wants to move.

Laura and I did our twitting and ricocheting (knitting and crocheting) on Saturday evening and watched movies. Laura took Scott's temperature around 10 o'clock that evening because before he went to bed he had a low-grade fever. When she went to take his temp, he was wide awake. So the three of us got to watch Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang. And then he decided that it was time to relieve himself - and I felt warmth on my pants. Yes, Scott had peed on me. The saline keeps him hydrated, that's for sure.

Laura and Scott will go into the clinic today for blood counts and a checkup! I hope that it will be a short visit and he won't have to fill 'er up with blood or platelets.

Hi Johnson's!

So glad to read your update on Scott! Congrats on finishing the accutane. You need a big party to say Goodbye to the hickman. Ask them to save the hickman for you. Molly has used hers in science projects!! seriously! Someday Scott will be in front of his class explaining how he survived Neuroblastoma!! I want to come to that speech!!

We are set for the 2nd Annual Alex's Lemonade Stand in June on the 11th at Mall of America. I want to make it bigger and more exciting this year. I am hoping we might add a fun run or a 5K that morning. Minnesota could be the 1st state to have the "Run for Research" A cure for Childhood Cancer! I will put you on the list to help! It will be a much happier year for you to attend!!

Again...Congratulations! We check your web page frequenly and we are so happy to see his progress!

God Bless!

Hi, Laura & Scotty!
I'm the one who ran in to you about 2 weeks ago in the hemoc clinic and was also on the 8th floor with you over the holidays a year ago. It was nice to run in to you and get this website. I have thought about him often through the year and wished I had gotten this earlier on. It is great to hear how well he is doing! I also will not forget your kindness to me last year - you were strength when I wasn't - thank you for that! And, for the great scarf you made me that I will be wearing very soon, now!
Take care of yourselves - you all remain in my prayers!

Hi Scotty, Ally, Laura and Greg,
The pictures from your party look like you had lot of fun. The bounce houses are a blast - for the grown-ups too!
We just returned from a week at Burntside and we had a great time. Ally, the water is much, much colder than during our visit in July. Britta didn't even swim every day, and that's amazing! We did manage to canoe to Burntside Lodge and back on Saturday afternoon. It was so beautiful!
It's so great to hear that you are all getting into a routine. We will keep praying that the doctors figure out the cause of the blotchiness.
Take care. We love you!

Hi Johnson family! We're glad to hear Scotty's doing well. Hope Greg and Ally had fun in Ely. We were stuck in the city since Tony was injured in a football scrimmage on Wed night. He broke his left collarbone (he's left handed!), and was pretty miserable until the past could of days. Fortunately he did not need surgery, just a sling, but football is out for 8th grade it appears. Depending on how he's doing we may be up next weekend since he isn't playing in the tournament as planned. Anyway, that the latest from us. We continue to keep you in our prayers. Lots of love,

N.E.D.! Reading the letters N.E.D. spurred memories of the relief and joy mixed in with lingering tentativeness that filled me when I would write Q.E.D. (for Quod Erat Demonstrandum; That which was to be demonstrated.) at the conclusion of a mathematical proof to indicate that my attempt at constructing the proof was completed.
How much greater the joy, still mixed with tentativeness about next steps, with N.E.D. !
Scott, Ally, Greg, and Laura, each of you is a shining light of JOY for the rest of us.
Shine on! Much love, Nicholas, Kristina, Don, and Judith

Scotty-boy! Such wonderful news indeed to be declared cancer free! I know that you cannot see the joy in that just yet because you're feeling so crummy. Many people are praying for you daily to make those nasty tummy aches and nausea disappear. Soon, my dear one, your strength will increase. You and Ally are in our thoughts always! We love you!

My dearest Ally,

I'm sending this little note to you with oodles of love, hugs, and kisses attached. YOU ARE SUCH A BRAVE GIRL to have helped Scott and Mom the other day during that awful car ride home from the hospital! How proud I am of your courage to get through this experience. You truly did an outstanding job and your deed tells me that you are very ready to enter first grade! I am the luckiest aunt in the world to have you as my goddaughter. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents with the family. I love you with all my heart.

Scotty - You are getting to be such a big boy! It takes a lot of strength to play on the playground equipment, and you can do it. Ally took me to that park to play when I was visiting in June - it's a lot of fun.
Ally - Auntie Ann said you swim like a fish - is that true? Next summer you can teach Scotty how to swim.

Scott, Ally, Laura and Greg. Great news to hear the you are finally done with radiation. One step closer to being done with this cancer and enjoying being a little boy. Ally, I sent Auntie Nancy, Dad and Nancy M. those pictures. Hope you were able to see them. It just shows all the courage you Johnsons have. They are great pictures. We had a great visit with you in Ely. Hope mom can join us next time and we can make more "parent" drinks. Uncle Warren's boat stopped working on Tuesday night so my friend Melissa and I had to push it to shore. What do you think about that. Remember Girls Rule!
Take care and we miss you dearly. Hope to see you soon.

Dear Scott, Greg, Laura & Allyson - I'm sooooo sorry to hear that Scott is dealing with a staph infection now. I had to deal with that very same thing in April/May, 2004, after a trip & fall accident which caused me to break the tip off my elbow. A staph infection followed the first surgery, which made me very sick and necessitated a 2nd surgery. :( I'm sending Scott a VERY big bear hug. Laura, I know what you're going through giving the IV meds. I had to give that to myself 3 times/day for many weeks. It is NO fun, that is for sure. You are awesome parents. Keep up the diligent work. The reward will be to have him all healthy again in no time. I hope to see you/meet you when I'm in the Cities in a little more than a week. Love to you all! Merle

Kathryn and I miss you SO much. We're having a good time in Utah, but we both wish we were home to see you every day. We miss seeing your smile. We really do miss you. It's been fun talking to you on the phone, though.

Kathryn has been keeping busy skating every day. She has learned a lot from the coaches out here. She's at the rink every day at 7 a.m. We have been sight-seeing to the Olympic Gateway, Park City, Sundance, went to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing on Sunday, went to the Bruce Hornsby Concert at the Red Butte Gardens on Sunday evening, drove through the Timpaganos Mountains.

Keep smiling, bud! We miss and love you -

Scott and Laura I'm so glad you got to see some Independence Day fireworks. We think of all of you every day, and me even moreso while being laid low for a week after a pinched nerve in my spine sent lower back muscles into spasm - now I am working day by day to recover my physical abilities and strength.
For me at this stage of recovery, no pain means a real gain! As I recover, I work to be strong like you Scott. Maybe we can both work to be like Lance Armstrong, who is once again wearing the yellow jersey in the Tour de France (totally amazing!). Let's keep going for it together!

Scotty boy, We know this is the most diffcult and hard and ugly part of your struggle, we pray for you that you will begin to feel a little tiny bit better each day and that within a couple of weeks it may become tolerable for you again. We know you have the spirit and strength to make it through this transplant period, and we know that the healing from all the chemo and medications will take a long time, but we also know you, and how strong you are.
You can do it Scotty, we all know you can. Mom and Dad and Ally, the worst of it is almost behind you. Hang in there, we continue to think about all of you each day and you are in our thoughts and prayers constantly.

Scott, Ally, Greg, and Laura - Scott, your picture is the true sunshine of my day. Ally, Kristina and I may be contacting you about Vacation Bible School as in a few weeks, she will be the director of 'dramatic presentations' at our church's VBS and I will appear one day as a carpenter. The faces of all of you shined at me when our July issue of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC arrived as its feature story is 'Stem Cells.'
Keep living strong, all of you.

We know this hospital stay is going to be a long one, but before you know it you'll be back home charming all the neighborhood girls, too. Especially the grownup ones. Dad got a bit older yesterday and he's moving a little slower, but he'll still try hard to keep up with you and Ally, don't worry. Laura, hope you're hanging in there ok, give us a yell if anything is needed. Ally, keep hip-hopping with the bunny beat, we'll try singing it again next week. See all of you soon.

Our faith remains steady as a rock that this neuroblastoma will be obliterated once and for all as you enter this next challenging phase of therapy. God, I pray that you send angels to watch over Scott Alan, Laura, Greg, and Allyson during the stem cell procedure and the months ahead. Scott and Ally...isn't that horsey beautiful? Tell your father that if he does not want to get you a dog that it is not a problem since you'll settle for a horse instead. Look at those sleek lines, the gait, the tail flapping in the wind, and that jockey holding on ever so dearly. (Yep, that's the part that your Auntie Lea needs to improve so she stops falling off!) I'm feeling much better now and even trotted for a short 15 min. on Saturday to test the old tailbone. Things seem to be healing nicely and once again my tushy is cushy. Love you both very much!

Mikaela drew a mouthwatering picture of an ice cream sundae for me yesterday. It's a three-decker masterpiece loaded with chocolate chip, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream. Scott:

I'm so glad that you had a good day today. Sounds like you and your dad had quite the bachelor pad in your room. Glad to hear you slept in until 10:30 a.m. - and then what, your dad falls asleep this afternoon and the nurses played with you while your dad was sawing some zzzzz's! I hear that you played alot with your train. What a great present your mom, dad, and sister bought you for your 2nd birthday.

Your mom and I had a great time last night while she was home. She's still working on the same blanket - I wonder if she finishd it at 3 a.m.? We watched Super Size Me. We'll never have Chicken McNuggets again. Yikes! We stayed up way too late - just like we were in high school - only we didn't have boyfriends to talk about, just husbands.

We love you, Scott, and miss you mucho grande! Hope to see you on Friday for pizza.

Dear GLAS,
Sounds like it has been a very long week at the hospital. How I wish that I could hop onto a plane again if only to do nothing more than shower you with hugs, attention, and affection. I imagine that your tulip bulbs have sprouted and you should be seeing some blooms in the upcoming weeks. With that in mind, we pray that Scott's robust healthy cells absolutely sprout new life into his recovering body. Vigils are ready. Prayer lines have been activated. Telephone is working. We are praying for Scott and the family everyday and you are always in our thoughts. Ally - keep the smiles up - you are a brave big sister. Scotty - Stay strong. Uncle Warren can always use another fishing buddy.

Hi Scotty, Ally, Laura and Greg,
We are so glad to hear that Scott is out of bed and smiling today. I remember a pediatritian telling me a long time ago that when a sick child can be distracted by a toy they are feeling much better.
We will continue to pray that you feel better every day, Scott, and that the surgery and chemo/stem cell treatment will destroy all those neuroblastoma cells once and for all!
Keep practicing with the fishing rod, Scotty! There are lots of rock bass to catch off the dock at Burntside. Luke caught one last summer on a bare jig - no bait! He can teach you how it's done.
We love you all and think of you constantly,
Aunt Becky, Uncle Keith, Britta and Luke

Dear Laura, Greg, Allyson and Scott,
Laura and family, I have been thinking of you and praying for you and your family. I was especially thinking of you last friday and this coming month. It has been awhile since we have seen each other, but please know that you and your family have not been far from my thoughts and hopes. Scott, you are one brave little boy, and even though we have not met, I admire your courage. Thanks for sharing what is happening in your daily lives, so we can continue to think good thoughts, and know that we love you very much. Miss seeing you guys!! Hi Scott,

Hope you don't have to endure the NG tube too much longer. I know you don't like it at all. Did you get to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang today? Your neighbor Laurel used to love that movie when she was a little girl. She had trouble pronouncing it though. Your mom or dad can ask me about it sometime -- worth a laugh or two.

Hope you had a good Mother's Day, Laura. You are a model of devotion and love for your children. Keep your spirits high!

The neighborhood is too quiet during the day when you're not home, Scott. The ducks and bunnies miss you too. Hurry home soon!

Scott! I thought about you so much today! I joined the MRI club in Buenos Aires and had the opportunity to experience what you've been through many times at Children's Hospital. What sent me on this adventure? Well, I fell off my horse while galloping along at a pretty good pace yesterday and landed quite hard on my butt. Ouch! The mosquitoes have been ferocious in the field these past weeks and my horse had had enough when a swarm of them flew up her nose while galloping. So she thrust her head down and jerked it from side to side to rid herself of those nasty critters. Meanwhile, I was jerked forward, lost one of the reins, and then really lost my balance. Down, down, kerplop! Since my left foot got caught in the stirrup, I pulled all of the hamstring muscles in the back of my leg. My bum suffered the greatest damage since it received full impact and I broke the coxis (a silly name for the tail bone) and the fourth vertebra bone. My neck also received whiplash and my right shoulder was banged up. In spite of all that, I continued my lesson and rode off of the field to escape the mosquitoes. Today I sat on a pillow while getting my nails and hair done at the salon. Then I went to school to teach a third grade class. By this afternoon, I was in pretty sorry shape and the pain/swelling was setting into those abused joints. As soon as school finished, Yanik and I went to the Emergency room to have X-rays taken of my back just to make sure that I had not injured anything too badly. It was a surprise to learn that I had two broken bones...little ones, but certainly enough damage to explain the discomfort! I'm so very proud of you, Scott, as I think of all the tests and discomfort you've endured these past months. Thanks for showing me how to be brave in dealing with the doctors and nurses along with the aches and pains! I may stay home tomorrow and treat myself to a movie. I don't have Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang, but I do have some other oldtime favorites. Love to you, Ally, Mom, and Dad!

Welcome home, sweeties! Freedom at last from those confining hospital rooms, doctors, and tests! We carried our prayers and thoughts of you to Rio de Janeiro. Mary is running on the school track team and Tony is playing school baseball. Our afternoons have been very busy. Despite the cold weather, we've been out for one three hour track meet and one baseball game. I think because you were heading home, the rain/snow stopped and the sun appeared. Hello Scotty,
I am so glad you were home last week while the weather was beautiful. Yesterday and today have been gloomy and rainy (not that I'm complaining -- we need the rain), but not so great for bike and stroller rides. We love seeing your smiles and hearing your giggles.

Got a funny story from Rebecca. She and I were talking about what number to call for the firemen. She didn't have a clue. When I suggested "911", she said, "No, that's the nanny's number!"

To my children, Allyson and Scott.

"I LOVE YOU"

I love you for what you are, but I love you yet more for what you are going to be.
I love you not so much for your realities as for your ideals. I pray for your desires that they may be great, rather than for your satisfactions, which may be so hazardously little.
A satisfied flower is one whose petals are about to fall. The most beautiful rose is one hardly more than a bud wherein the pangs and ecstacies of desire are working for larger and finer growth.
Not always shall you be what you are now.
You are going forward toward something great. I am on the way with you and therefore I love you.

Hi Scotty! Haven't the past two days been the best?! We have all spent lots of time outside. John even wore a hole in the heel of his cast scooting around on the driveway! Good thing the long one comes off next week and then he will get a short cast he can walk on. Tony turned 13 today. We can hardly believe it. Glad you are enjoying lots of good food and sunshine. Stay strong. Love,

To everyone that read this, please read out loud:

Father, we thank You for Your precious gift of Scotty to us. We thank You for all the joy that he has given and all the time You have given to him. Father, we pray in the name of Jesus that You will touch Scott's body with Your healing hands of mercy. We ask that You restore and renew his body to its normal pattern of functioning as You ordained it from the moment of his birth. We ask for this miracle in the Name of Jesus. If You grant us this partition, we will be ever so grateful and will always give You honor, glory and praise for we know that it is Your will that "we have life and have it more abundantly". We ask that You heal him for Your namesake and we will always give You all the glory and praise for his deliverance. We pray that Scott "shall live and not die and shall declare the mightly works of The Lord". Father, You said in Your Word that "death and life are in the power of the tonge" so we chose a healthy, successful, and propherous life for Scotty. We believe and receive these blessings in Jesus name. Amen. God Bless You Scotty.

How I miss seeing you! That spaghetti certainly looks yummy! I'm surviving the Science Fair planning and cannot wait until the Mar. 22 date arrives so I can see the result of my experiment: If you take 76 students and put them through numerous writing revisions and increase their daily stress, I predict that all of their hard work will result in a great Science Fair show for the entire school community to enjoy. Wow! You’re certainly dealing with a lot and dealing with it well. As a former hockey star (ha) and my son’s (Dylan) hockey coach I can tell that Scott is a future Minnesota Gopher Star (Hockey or Basketball). Of course I’m thinking hockey, probably right wing. The parallels are obvious. He’s a fighter and winner and good with the ladies. That’s what the nurses are telling me. We’re glad to hear that Allyson has been doing so well in skating. We’ll have to get our kids together just as long as Allyson promises to take it easy on Dylan if we go skating. We’re thinking of your family and are looking forward to getting together soon. Scott, keep up the good work and take it easy on the ladies.

PS: I was right wing

Hi Scotty and Ally- It has been snowing in Ely all day. Pretty snow that is for sure. Uncle Warren just got home from his fishing trip. Love you very much

It looks pretty - that's only because I don't have to be in rush hour traffic this morning. Greg and Laura, Each time I check on Scotty's website he is who I am thinking about(not surprisingly), but when I looked today I realize I'm thinking about the two of you. It is not yet noon here on Saturday and Kristina has run a 4X800 relay and a 1600m race and is now at school presenting a science fair project with two other girls and a day ago came home from school saying she did not feel well, and the groceries are in and on and on (plus transporation to events on time, yes!) and, oh yes, remembered just what the schedule was too . . . Step by step, hour by hour, day by day, and we will manage.

Live strong, and pause to smile and rejoice now and then,
just to celebrate the opportunity to keep on keeping on.

Much love to you all,

Hi, Scott: I just finished breakfast and will take Kathryn to school soon. Do you know that she hasn't ridden the bus to school once this year - pretty spoiled, huh? I bet you'll be just like Ally and LOVE to ride the bus. Kathryn loved to ride the bus too, until she was about 13. When I get back from dropping her off I have to get motivated to go and exercise, but I'm trying to think if I could do anything else - maybe clean - nah. Better yet, I could knit. It's getting really addicting - this knitting. I need your mom here so we can go to Knitters/Crocheters Anonymous. Tell your mom I bought some really cool fiber for her at The Yarn Garage yesterday - it's handpainted metallic fiber. Steven said to say hello to the two of you. You take care and I'll see you soon!

Hello Greg, Laura, and Allyson:
I miss seeing all your faces and feel so bad that I have not gotten more chance to see Allyson and Scott in the last year. Scott has grown up to be such a handsom young boy and Allyson is such a beautiful girl. Laura and Greg, you treasure and love your children so much and I have seen that reflect in how Allyson's face lights up when she talks about her family and I saw it in Scottie's eyes when he looked at both of you. I want you to know that I have faith that God will be here for you in your time of need. I am praying for you. I am praying for Scottie to become healthy again so that he can continue to play happily with a bright smile on his face and grow up into the beautiful boy that I had always pictured him to be--I know things are going to be okay. I also wanted you to know that Scottie and Allyson impacted my life greatly. When I started babysitting your kids I was unsure of whether I wanted to have kids someday. I fell in love with both of them. I have told everyone this, but Scottie was truly the cutest baby boy I have ever seen. My heart melted every time I saw him with his big blue eyes and beautiful smile. After watching Scottie and Allyson, I decided I want kids, I owe it to your family for giving me that push. My prayers are with all of you. Take care, Jacquelynn

Hi Scott, Ally, Greg and Laura. Glad to hear everything is going well for you. Yesturday Warren took me snowmobling to the Chainsaw Sisters. It was a great day. Lots of snow. Hey Ally, remember when you asked what a fish house was, well there are a lot on the lake right now. Maybe if you come to Ely sometime this winter we can show you them on the lake.

Keep strong Scotty. Hope to see your simling face real soon. We miss you and love you lots.

hello to Scott's family...i was just reading Scott's page. he is a cute little bugger!! my son has also been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma stage 4s. he was diagnosed at just 11 days. it was so scary for us with a new little baby. his tummy got really big it looked like if you poked it it would just pop. he had a tumor on his adrenal gland and one on his liver also. which was a good thing because his liver is what made his tummy swell and all of his organs were pushed out of the way to the side. he was treated in Rochester, MN at St.Mary's Hospital. we loved it there and actually want to move there some day. but you take care of that little boy. God bless all of you. oh and by the way Kohlman(my little boy)is now cancer free since August 2004. and we just had a scan done on the 18th of January and everything still looks good. so there is hope.
take care.

Thanks to you and your friends, we (maggie and her mom dora and I) were informed of Scott's illness very soon after it was diagnosed. Our prayers for you have centered on Scott's total recovery. The dear Lord is ever present. He will guide us through whatever adversities the road of life may lead us. I have thanked God every day since June 6, 1944, and in the 315 days of combat that followed until the war was over, for saving my life. He can and will answer our prayers for Scott.

Scotty, We loved the picture of you reading your Bob the Builder Book. Bob books and movies are John's favorite! "Bob" was the first word John ever said (not even Mom or Dad!). He has a big poster in his room with all the trucks and Bob and Wendy's pictures on it. Maybe you can come see it sometime when you're feeling better. And, who doesn't like Cheetos -they are an important food group. The Cheetos Cheetah is named Chester and Tony used to have a shirt with Chester's picture on it. He wore it until it was too small. Say hi to Allyson and your mom and dad for us! Lots of love,

Hey Ally and Scott:

Tell Mom and Dad that crazy 'ol Auntie Lea is coming to Apple Valley on January 17 to give hugs and kisses in person! This internet stuff is wonderful, but nothing compares to the real thing! It sounds like you are making marvelous progress, Scotty, and we're all so very proud of you for taking everything in stride. Our nephew is very brave indeed! As for you, Miss Ally, continue to skate, swim, learn at school, and be the happiest girl in the world. Your beautiful smile and laughter is the best medicine for Scotty and the entire family. Yanik, Mikaela, and Uncle Frederic miss you and send their love. I shall see you very soon and cannot wait to cuddle, laugh, tell jokes, read, and have fun with you both. Love, Aunt Lea

P.S. Ally, please begin making your list of things that you would like to do together during our visit. (And by the way, did you make Scott's WELCOME HOME sign yet? It certainly would be a nice decoration for his bedroom door!) I love you, Smiley Girl!

Got back from Ely Friday and on Sunday Tony hurt his knee snowboarding, so he got to ride in a sled behind a fourwheeler with the ski patrol staff. Pretty cool. He's on crutches for now. Dear Laura, Greg, Scotty, and Allyson,
Our prayers are with you daily. My friend whose baby was born very premature weighing in at 1 pound has experienced your anxiety and has also been praying for you. Her daughter is now 14 months old and getting stronger every day. There are many miracles in the world and we know for sure that the love that surrounds you right now is a miracle in itself. May that love fill every fiber of your being, may the doctors be filled with wisdom, and may Scott bask in the love you are pouring out to him minute by minute. God bless you and keep you. Do not be afraid to ask for help or to accept it when it is offered. There are so many people who are thinking of you. I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.

To guide us with a light of love.

Hi Scotty! I'm glad you were able sleep well last night - Dad is probably happy too. Our neighbors were mowing their lawn yesterday. Uncle Warren wouldn't like it here - we don't have any snow. Erik and I got new living room furniture last week and I wish your Mom was here to arrange it - I just don't have her magic touch. Hi, Scott! It's about 2 a.m. and I can't sleep so I thought I'd write to you. I went and visited The Yarn Garage yesterday. Wish your mom could have come with. The fibers there are beautiful. Maybe I'll just have to buy her some to crochet with. I hear your mom has been crocheting scarves for some of your favorite nurses. Steven helped me start your hat that I'm making you. He did the first two rows since I couldn't get them right. Then I decided I would start another project - a cardigan. Am I nuts? I better get back to scarves, huh? Well, you take care of yourself. I hope you're having a peaceful night. I'm hoping and praying to see your bright smiley face real soon back in the neighborhood! - Love, Nana-911

Morgan says, "I want Scottie to swim with me when he gets bigger." Mason says, "I like to sit on the couch with Scottie and play with him. I don't want Scottie to be sick anymore. When is he going to be done being sick?"

Dear Scott, Ally, Laura and Greg,
Greetings from Virginia! We think of you often and are so happy to be able to get news about you all from the webpage. (Thank-you Nancy!) Kristina is now swimming each day to keep in shape while giving her sprained foot a rest. Inspired by Scotty’s wagon expeditions, Don and I offered to take her on a walk with us using the red wagon, but she thought at age 16 she might be too large. We have some great pictures of Kristina and cousin Yanik at about Scotty’s age, with the two of them in the wagon being pulled by then young Nicholas. I guess wagon rides run in the family. You are all in our prayers continually. We send big hugs and all our love.

I need to communicate with you before 11am your time on Thurs., Dec. 30. A plane ticket for me is pending, Jan. 7-23. Do you need me at this time or would you rather I spend a week with you in March during Easter when I have to fly to DC for medical stuff? I'm at your disposal...just need to know how I can serve you best. Give Nancy your decision so she can email me. I'm thinking and praying about you constantly. I finally released a bit of stress and tension by galloping and trotting for 2hrs. this afternoon. Didn't sleep a wink last night; stared at Scotty's vigil candle instead and imagined being at your side in the hospital waiting room. I'm with you every moment of each day as you await test results from the first bone scan and begin the MIBH testing. Love you so much and missing everyone dearly from a far.
