Our son, Elisha James Bold, who is now 21 weeks in the womb was just diagnosed yesterday during a routine ultrasound with CDH. Although we have been hit hard by this, my wife and I know that God is good! I have found comfort knowing that many have gone through this and reading there stories, sometimes even the not happy outcomes has been helpful. Please pray for Elisha, my wife Krista and Caleb, my helpful and healthy 8 yr old son. We are looking at going to UCSF as I have heard good things. Please feel free to contact us if you can be of help. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

But I saw her yesterday and she was talking about how good you are doing, and she just sent me the link the your webpage again, so I had to check it out!

Hello.. You don't know me but I just wanted to share my story. Although differeant it has similarities. I was born march,1971 (yep big 35 comming up). Anyway I was born 2 1/2 months premie...I weight 2lbs 7 oz (dropped to 1lb 15 oz) I was in the hospital for month until I gained weight and learned how to suck on a bottle...luckily no feeding tube. Unknown to my parents I had CP. Doctors kept being vague. Anyway....once they found out, and got in touch with UCP. I started getting the help needed. I was 4 years ould before I really started walking. I went to the feeding therapist for a long time...taught me how to be conscious of my swollowin...I was a big drooler. Very picky eater (still am...LOL).Years of PT OT Speech. I was told I would never finish JR high. That it would get to tough. Well here I am Fully capable of doing most stuff. Walking on my own...with a few trips and falls. I went to colllege got my AAS in Early Childhood Educ. My BA in Psych. Been a preschool teacher on and off for 10 years. Love my Job. So don't Give up...and don't let her give up either. My favorite saying was "I Can't" My fathers favorite saying became "Can't is not in our Vocabulary"......Good luck sorry this is so Long!

I found your site through babycenter. We have a daughter with right-sided CDH born 8.11.05; we did not know about her condition prior to birth. It is nice to see how far these miracles can come from such rocky starts! We used to live in MN until two years ago when we moved to IA. Best of luck to you and Sarah!

WHAT AN ADORABLE LITTLE GIRL. EACH TIME I SEE HER I'M REMINDED OF EVERYTHING SHE'S BEEN THROUGH IN THESE TWO YEARS OF HER LIFE. SHE'S COME A VERY LONG WAYS AND I KNOW IT'S BECAUSE OF THE LOVE SHE HAS FROM EVERYONE THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH HER. IT BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES TO SEE THE PICTURE OF HER PLAYING ON THE PLAYGROUND AND THEN SEEING THE PICTURE OF HER WHEN SHE FIRST ENTERED THIS CHALLENGING WORLD. SHE HAS MANY MORE CHALLENGES AHEAD OF HER BUT SEEING HOW MUCH SHE'S BEEN THROUGH ALREADY SHE'LL DO JUST GREAT!!!!! I DO GO INTO THIS SITE QUITE FREQUENTLY SO I DO HOPE YOU KEEP IT UP. I LOVE SEEING PICTURES OF HER. SHE LOOKS SO HAPPY!!!!! YOU ALL HAVE A MARRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! LOVE YOU ALL

Dawn what a beautiful story I read on the benotafraid website. That story shows what courage your little Sarah has and the faith that has gotten you; James and Sarah through all of this. What a beautiful ending to a story that all parents have not been so lucky to have. I think my favorite picture is that one that Grandma Diane took of you and Sarah that you used on the website benotafraid story.
May God keep over your sweet little Sarah! Love you all Aunt Nancy
