You know - you are just never sure what you hope to find with the biopsy. At least with rejection, the Drs know excatly how to treat it, and it is usually very treatable. Sami and Kyle have both had post tx biopsies too that did not show anything (actually 5 for Kyle last year). Have they checked for CMV and EBV? They think Sami's issue last fall might have been CMV related - but I am not sure since her levels never got really high and she never acted sick. To this day - Kyle's issue is a mystery. Sooo... I hope you can get some answers. I think the unkown can be more frustrating than the known. I also pray that her levels start heading back in the right direction. Call me if you want to talk!

So happy that Laura is home. We had a terrible time with getting Angus' prograf level where they wanted it - turned out that the pharmacy was making it wrong!!! However I know that it takes a while in many cases to level out.
Why do you need to give it to her at midnight, are you giving it 3 times a day?

SO glad to hear Laura's back home, though I'm sorry I missed you when you stopped yesterday. The cold really had me miserable, so I took most of the day "off". Sean had his ERCP/EGD today and they pulled his stents, took biopsy samples, and discovered he has varices.

Oh my - one liter drained! I had that amount drained from me a few times right before transplant, and I thought that it was a lot for my body - and Laura is quite a bit smaller! Yeah,great news! Isn't if fun to start losing the tubes etc! Laura sounds like she is on track for getting out of the hospital later this week! Hang in there and be patient and keep as healthy as you can. Your recovery is faster and easier that way. I was transplanted with my new liver January 28th of 2002 after getting extremely sick. I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 way back in 1981 or 1982. Things are going extremely well and I am praying that you will be soon too. I visited with your parents right after the Transplant Games in which, I had the privilage to Bike, Bowl and walk with my donor family at the age of 56 years old.

My 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with Alpha 1 at the age of 2 weeks and had her transplant at the age of 7 months. She's doing great. You were born in a great month, by the way. Juice - I'm more impressed by you every day! The website is really neat (explains things well to medically challenged people like me). Glad to hear Laura's getting to be so musical!
