Trying to show mom how to navigate. We don't have a camera that is connected to the internet, but I may update our phones, and then they will come with a camera so we can send some pictures. Trying to keep Eddie from unwrapping all the xmas gifts! He got my crockpot open a couple of times, so now we have left that one out for him to unwrap. Dad would have probably solved that on with a good kick to the backside! Mom is letting me do all the typing and does not have anything to add for now.

Ant,
I'm so proud of you! You are recovering so well and sitting up so straight now (you're taller than Denise)! You're going to graduate high school in 2 weeks - some thought this was never an option for you. You are a true survivor. I can't wait to cheer when your name is called and you "roll" across the stage. I'll be the one crying behind dark sunglasses! "Whenever we feel like we don't have the strength to go on...we look to you!" I love you buddy!

Hey A.J.....believe it or not...we did it...we surprised Angie!! She had no clue what was going on with the baby shower. We gave her lots of boy clothes (all she owns is pink stuff) and noisy toys to drive "Alex's" dad Jon nuts. We had a big prom meeting this afternoon, it's looking like it will be another huge success. We are all hoping you can make an appearance, but your health (and your parent's mental state-haha) is much more important. I'm excited to hear you are maintaining, thank goodness mom helped you put on that extra weight before this whole ordeal!!! Let me know if you need any stuffed shells or "Tiramasu" to help with extra calories.
Love you buddy...Erin <ephelpss@yahoo.com>

Anthony,
I am so glad to hear you are doing well. We have been busy getting your new program site all ready. All of the painters and construction crews have left. It looks like we will be opening June 7th. That would be about the time you are attending your prom. I hope you have a blast. I will be sending you a letter soon explaining everything. Keep an eye out for it. All the best Bonnie S at Phoenix Alternatives. Inc.

Way to go AJ!!! Glad to hear that he is doing so well, he's REALLY going to need that bike now! LOL! Hope that you all are doing good and we look forward to seeing a fat AJ!

For everyone out of state: Anthony is so fat!!!! It's unbelieveble. Mom has done a great job of boosting him up. You can't even see or feel his ribs anymore and his thighs no longer look like toothpicks. Mom should really put a recent picture of him on this site. It's such a surprise to see him.
We've been talking as a family and have decided that once Anthony is recovered from this surgery, we're going to schedule gastric-bypass surgery for him. His weight is really getting out of hand. Last night Larry caught him in the pantry with his face buried in a bag of doritos and we also found candy bar wrappers under his bed and in his diaper genie. It's becoming quite a problem.

Caroline, I'm a little disappointed....why stop at a car or truck? A Lear Jet, complete with a handsome pilot -- now THAT would be a great convenience! You could bring Anthony anyplace he'd like to go. It's not like he has surgery every day......And I'm sure Curious George would also love the luxury. Donald Trump probably has a second-hand jet lying around.......
Love you,

Oh Caroline you are a wiley one, but I was thinking if everyone is going to pitch in for a car or truck, then they would definitely want to do it here in nice sunny warm florida where Anthony could get out of the cold of the north. I wouldn't mind driving him around and you could even come and visit too. Love Ya!

Ant - If you need any weight gaining tips let me know, I've got a couple. You can start by telling mommy you want ice cream instead of juiced carrots.
On another note, I think mommy is too embarrassed to bring this up (but I'm not). Anthony really doesn't need the bike as much as he needs a new car or truck (he's not picky). He'd prefer brand new and red. Like Linda said, if we all pitch in we can get a really nice one for him. Now since he's not allowed to drive, I'd be willing to drive him. We can even have the car put into my name (I don't mind). I really think we can do this for him. Come on, the kid is having surgery - it's the least we can do!!!
Love you all!

I agree with Linda. I would be more than willing to help get Anthony something he loves so much -- after all, what better use for money?
Glad to hear he's gaining weight and am praying that he gets this operation over with, once and for all!

Hi Anthony!
Hope that the insurance company will come through for you with the bike, but if not, you know that you have a LOT of family and I'm sure that people wouldn't mind pitching in to get him something that he so enjoys!?! Suppose I shouldn't talk for others, but we would at least so let us know how you make out. With so many people it would cost all little to nothing to get him something that he loves so much! Take care and keep gaining weight!
All our Love!

Hi Anthony and Family! We did not know that Anthony's surgery was rescheduled until today. I had it on my calendar and asked Cesca to check it for me because I do not have Internet access at work. This is such a great way to keep everyone informed of Anthony's progress. Now that we know how it works, we will be checking it often. We think of you all often - Joyce, Joe and all of the kids. We hope to see you soon. I love the verses at the end of your journal entries. They really bring a great perspective to us all. Love you all.

Hi Anthony and Family
I hope you continue to feel better and get strong for surgery. You are a very determined, positive young man so I know you will come through your surgery with flying colors.
I will keep you in my prayers and also put you on our church prayer chain so you'll have lots of people praying for the surgeons, nurses and caretakers. We'll also pray for your family because I know they have to stay strong and healthy to take care of you. Take care and God Bless.

Hi out there in Minnesota! Milkshakes are a good nutrition and calorie booster. You may add soda if Anthony could tolerate the bubbles and make an ice cream float. Adding bananas add 100 calories to the milkshake along with any other fruit. Pediasure also has calories that can be added to Milkshakes. The ice cream would disguise the flavor. Rice pudding with whipped cream would also be good. You can add the oatbran if you think the rice would bind Anthony. All these tips are from Maureen. I think you are on the right track with the frequent small meals.this from grandma

Hi Joyce, I'm thinking about the things Dad needed to keep his weight up that last year, and one thing is drinking milkshakes and Ensure. A shake from McDonald's probaby has quite a few fat calories. Mom may have some more ideas.

Hey Anthony, this is the Uncle who showed up every 12 years or so to say hi... I could not be more proud of a nephew than I am of you and I admire you. You have persevered when others would have given up under lighter circumstances, you have brought unconditional love, smiles, joy and laughter to our family and extended families during these crazy world times, you are a gift from God to our family. Brought to us to show us that it matters not how big your house is, how expensive your cars and clothes are, what school you go to or how much you make on your job. All that matters is what is in your soul and how you project that to others in a non-discriminatory manner. Anthony you know no difference between color or creed and treat all the same with precious joy. Thank you for being my nephew and teaching me a thing or two. I hope the rest have learned as well. By the way, me and your mom are the good-looking twins!!! I don't need to wish you luck in the surgery because the man upstairs is and will be with you. I'll see you soon. Uncle David

Ant,
I'm sorry you have to have surgery, but I'm excited about our stay in the hospital. You know how I like to get into trouble?! Remember last time when they found me passed out in the bathroom with 4 bottles of ether? Ha! That was a great time. I'll be with you the whole time, so don't be scared. You're my best friend!

When Anthony was little and in the hospital in Philadelphia, our Mom had Denise, Larry and me record a cassette tape for him. The tape consisted of songs and me complaining that Denise was whining because I was hogging the tape (big surprise). I did get out one serious question which I'll pose now as well: Anthony, do you like the Culture Club?
