Hi,
Thank you for your kind words. I'll never forget how excited Coley was when she rode in my buggy; she was very concerned about not being in "her car seat" for the 200 yard ride. What a card she was! That picture is hanging on my wall and it makes me smile inside and out every day. Missing you and hoping to meet Nicolas soon.
Happy New Year to you all. Love, Laura

I had a thought of Coley today so decided to check to see if you still had her page. I am so glad I checked in ... congratulations on your newest addition to the family. Nicolas is sooo handsome and from the pictures it looks like he has fit right in. So many people probably tell you how lucky he is, but we also know how lucky you must feel! You have a beautiful family! We think of Coley often and her strength still continues to amaze us. We would love to meet Nicolas sometime and for you to meet our new addition, Luke, who was born on May 10th.

Of course there are many of us diehards who are still "Hooked on Coley". We check in every so often looking and hoping for an update. Glad to hear that all is going well on the home front. Nikolas is indeed a handsome little guy. I have been so fortunate to meet him in person and he is loved by both Marissa and Travis. Boy does it show. Great name too! I think of Coley often with fond memories. I'm sure she is watching over your family and helping to smooth the transition to America.
Take Care and congratulations on your new addition.

Hi Levine Family,

We couldn't be happier for all of you on this happy occasion. The pictures of Nikolas are just great. How lucky he is to be joining such a wonderful, caring, and loving family. Coley must be beaming at the prospect of a new brother to serve as guardian angel.

We haven't written much but we have been checking this site. We are always in awe at how much one little girl and one loving (and growing) family can impact the lives of so many others. Yet it is clear from the outpouring of support and love that such is the case. It tends to put so much of the mundane issues of everyday life in much clearer perspective.

We wish your beautiful family peace, health, and happiness.

I'm so glad you shared a picture of Coley full of life, hair flowing and ruby lips glowing. She looks so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes to see her again. It's funny how I can so miss a little girl I never met. Peace be to you all, may your hearts heal and your memories linger on the little blond-haired girl in the picture, and not so much on the frail one of later.

I'm sure she is in heaven just beeming with her beautiful smile thinking, "I knew they could do it"!! Well, a new season begins. Do you think she'll still have the touch to help them next season? Although, she may need to move onto a new assignment. Perhaps the rebirth of the NHL... Glad you guys had fun on your cruise. I think of you all often. Take Care

Hi Todd, Kristin, Marissa and Travis, so glad you enjoyed your vacation. It must be difficult to come back to all that snow (which must still be hanging around, as it is here in Philly) after enjoying so much sun. I am glad you had a wonderful much-deserved vacation. Thanks again for the great picture of Coley and Marissa in the snow. I continue to think of Coley many times during the day, as you all do. I know the pain I still feel, yet I only met her once. Your pain is so much more. You are truly an incredible family, whom I admire so much. God bless you all.

Dear Levines,

Katie and I love to ride around this time of year to look at the Christmas lights. On one of our trips, Katie noticed the orange light in your window. She said,"Look mom, they've put up an orange light for Coley. That was her favorite color. Isn't that nice. I bet she can see it from heaven. Do you think I can put one up too? That way she'll see mine and know I'm thinking about her, too." I told her that we would ask at ice skating. She reminded me to ask, and was so excited when you (Todd) told her she could put one up. I had to stop on my way home from school the next, as she reminded me ALL night, about buying the orange light. So, when you circle the neighborhood, you will see another orange light shining in Katie's bedroom window. She knows that Coley will see it in her window and know that Katie is thinking of her, too.
Thinking of all of you during this holiday season.

Hey guys!
Just was thinking about you guys. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate god for letting me meet Nicole and letting me hear her voice listen to her laugh and feel her spunk grow inside of me. Nicole was my best friend and no one can replace her. I know I will always have u guys to help me understand her death and I think it is incredible that you guys are so strong. Ya know how I would always say Nicole is my hero well she still is my hero but sense her death I came across 4 more heroes. Todd Kristen Rissa and Travis you four showed me that I need to be strong because if my 4 heroes can be strong so can I. I still cry every night wishing I was going wake up the next morning and go over your house and push her on the swing but it isn’t true and I know that I cant wish for that to happen but u cant blame a girl for trying. So I just wanted to say hi, tell you I pray for you all, and that I love you guys so much!

Dear Fellow FAmily:
I am sorry for the way your family's FA journey ended. While reading Coley's eulogy, I had sad tears and sad smiles both; she certainly inspired a special goodbye.
I went ahead and read her journal entries - I hope you
don't mind. My son, Roy, is in the process of setting up
an introductory appointment at SMK with Dr. Boulad. In the last 5 years since Roy's FA dx, we have had 3 different
times that a marrow transplant was thought to be urgent,
only to have counts/situations improve which is all good
news. So it might be several months or several years before we are to a transplant situation. Reading in your entries what you all went through did help VERY much as to
what to expect. A heartfelt thank you.
If I may say so, you have a talent for communicating with
your writing and sharing of your FA journey. Have you
considered checking into publishing Coley's story? I think
you should think about it that possibility; there would be
just that many more people who Coley & you could educate and inspire.
Best Regards - Kay Proctor

I have just read the eulogy for Coley and the tears just don't stop. I have never had the fortune of meeting your little angel but followed her battle with leukemia through her aunts Donna and Kim. I got a phone call from Jan about coley and I have not been able to get you all out of my mind. My heart goes out to all of you and I pray that you will be able to heal. I can not imagine the pain that you are all feeling but I do want you to know that I really do feel some of your pain. I wanted you to know Kristen that the time we spent together at the RMH I will never forget. Or will I forget the physical pain I felt after we exercised with Megan. (lol) You are a strong family and I believe that will help you to move on through this terrible time. I know that it is hard to let Coley go, but I also believe that she is in heaven doing her gymnastics, and socer and dancing like she so much enjoyed. The eulogoy you wrote is the most beautiful thing I have ever read and it had me in tears. I love you guys and please know that you will always be in my heart and in my thoughts. I wish you all the best.

Last night as as I was stuck in the ER at New York Hospital, getting pretty grumpy because it was late and I had no hope of going home anytime soon, I decided to go get a soda from the machine in the lobby. Somehow I timed it perfectly to catch the last half inning of the World Series. As I jumped up and down in the ER waiting room filled with Yankee fans staring at me like I was some sort of lunatic, I smiled and thought of Coley. Not only am I convinced that she somehow intervened at points when the old Red Sox would have screwed up, she once again made me stop and realize how privelaged I am to care for children as special as her. God bless, Coley and all those who love her. What a beautiful tribute. I linked here from Hunter's website. Last night as I watched the Red Sox win the World Series I thought of this precious little girl I never had the opportunity to meet. However, in her death and through the beautiful tribute shared here, I have been so touched by her lessons.

I am a mentor for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. Yesterday I shared this touching story with my team in order to help us all keep human perspective on the work still needed to eradicate leukemia and lymphoma and other blood-related cancers from our world.

Take care ... I'll think of Coley often as her spirit has touched me deeply.

Sincerely,

Your story reminds me so much of little Allie's Scotts. They truly were Gods strongest angels... they came here to teach us. And thats exactly what they did! They taught so many of us to treasure each day and to love our children fiercely. They taught us that people can do amazing things when they are inspired by such amazing children. I know none of this lessens your pain, but I hope that God will keep you strong and know that so many people are praying for you and your special family right now! I carry your picture in my wallet, you are missed so much, but things like tonight show us just how close you are. You have am amazing Mom and Dad, the most adoring big sister and little brother and loving grandparents. I was so happy I was able to go both to the wake and the funeral, your dad said the most wonderful things about you. I only wish I was able to get to know your family sooner. Never will I forget your smile or your spunk. Kristin,
I was so sorry to find out that your precious Coley went home to be with the Lord. I should have signed your your guestbook Friday morning. Joanne from RMH in NY was upset Friday morning and she told me about Nicole. You met my husband Dennis and I at one of the barbeque's at RMH. You had just gotten bad news about Coley that day. WE were just devasted for you. I met your father the day of Peter's surgery and he was kind enough to add our son Peter (www.caringbridge.org/pa/peter) to his prayer list. I should have told you that you have been in our prayers but it was just too close to home and I wasn't ready to read your story. Tonight I sat at the computer again and I found Coley's eulogy. My heart broke when I read that she learned which flush comes first and how to change her dressings. There have been so mant times that Peter has tired to do his own flushes at 20 months old and I think to myself this is so sick! This is so wrong! But I know that my God is in charge and I know that he loves these children, all of them at Sloan and at all the other pediatric cancer center all over the world. I know that Coley is safe in his arms tonight, that she is out of pain, that she can run and play and eat what ever she wants. There are no more dressing changes amd the flushes have stopped! And because he lives I can face tomorrow! Because he lives you will see Coley again in Heaven. Sometimes it is so hard to understand all of this, and sometimes You just wonder why God answers all the thousands of prayers very differently then we want him to. Someday we will have our chance in Heaven to find out why. Know these things...You are the finest Mother on the face of this earth, you brought your precious Angel into this world with such love, you met her every need (needs that praise God very few Mothers will every understand) and you walked her home to live with the Lord. Well done thou good and faithfyl servant. Know that you are admired and loved by so many, know that you will be in our prayers. I hope that you can find God's blessings, peace and comfort as you and your family try to sort through this very difficult journey. In His love, The Zucca's

I loved the last line of your eulogy. Gosh, I just laughed out loud!

Thank you, Levine family and friends, for sharing your journey. I am a stranger to you, one of many whose prayers for Coley were answered last week.

This is my wish for you. It comes from "The Book of Common Prayer". Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding: deal graciously with Nicole's family and friends in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And, even though I am a Cardinals' fan, I am so very pleased with your Sox. Coley is really working it in heaven!

Dear Todd and Kristin,
Never have I experienced such incredible examples of strength and amazing grace in the face of such a heartbreaking journey as I have seen with you both. The dignity and wit you have exhibited throughout the journal of Coley's fight have inspired more people than you will ever realize. You two were as much a gift to Coley as she was to you... it is obvious where she got her spunk, her fighting spirit and her charm - two incredible parents and the amazing supporting cast of your families. I pray that you will see signs of Coley everyday, that peace will fill the void in your hearts and that Marissa and Travis with thrive with their Guardian Angel on their shoulders. Thank you for sharing Coley with me and my family, to say she is an inspiration is an understatement. Thank you for sharing your family's story and the most beautiful eulogy I've ever heard.

To the Levine family,
I never had the privelege of knowing your Coley, but was so touched by her story in the newspaper. I read your Eulogy & journal and was moved by such an inspirational, albeit spunking little girl. I had the privelege of graduating from High School with Jane Trucchi, and read her notes to Coley and knew your little girl had to be a gem. As my mother would say, she was "no bigger than a minute". I will keep a candle in my window from now on to remember her. Also when the stars shine, the wind blows or there is a perfect snowflake and the Sox bring it home for her, she'll be in my thoughts & prayers. Bless you and your family. (excuse the possible repetition as my original message got lost in another person's name).
Sincerely,

Todd and Kristin - Words have escaped me over the past week as to what to say to the two of you over the loss of Coley. I can tell you that even though I spent only a little time with her it was easy to see that she was an amazing little girl. The kind of child who people are just drawn to. She most definately has made a lasting impression on me and I will never forget her. As for the two of you, I feel very fortunate to have become friends with you through the adoption of our boys. I will never forget the first meeting where we met the two of you and the adoptive parents at the meeting were asked what their biggest fear was in adopting a child - most said the health of their child. When it came to be Kristin's turn to speak she said that there are no guarantees in life that you will have a healthy child, even a biological child. Your words stuck with me since that day. Both of you have handled such a difficult journey with such courage, strength and conviction. Coley is so lucky to have you as her parents. I know where she got all her strength and determination! You will always be in my prayers as Coley watches over you from a better place now.
