Psalms 46:1-5 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Psalms 40:5, 11, 13 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Titus 3:4-7 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Hi - Since I am "blog AND FB" inadequate/challenged hoped Jordan wouldn't mind my remaining in my safe zone - his CB site for a quick update. Went back to the blog to look at the amazing/awesome Amato Christmas - Jordan and his gift opening in particular - and happened to notice that the shhh picture of Joel has him as a NY fan:=)....See how much all our guys have in common??? Even with my older son now living in PA - he is still a Yankee/Giant(although not currently happy) fan. Anyway, just thought I would note the magic message of the secret picture! Happy New Year and so much more to ALL of you....XXOO-Love, me & "the boys"

Ok - I am back...had to re-read the good news (and I might add I will be checking back often for those promised pictures). Sorry Jordan (and you) had to starve all day - but leave it to you BOTH to take the time to make (and inspire) new friends. Going with your (and Tonya's) trend of thoughts - guess those families needed some Jordan/Susan inspiration and the tests were secondary especially since as a "reward"...good news!! Wondering if Jordan's weight loss (assumed based on medication) calls for a new wardrobe?? We all know Jordan likes to be a male fashion diva or is it divo for masculine??? In any case, so VERY happy that the six month anxiety/worry was a wasted worry....hopefully/somehow you ALL will be able to take this next six month lull in stride and be so preoccupied with family, friends, holidays, photo sessions etc. that you can't even sqeeze in a worry (until it is time to "visit" St. Jude again). Hope you and Rick and your back aches have subsided and that the St. Jude walk is not just a fund raiser - but victory laps over and over!

PHEW....THANKS so much for not only an update - but one that says EXACTLY what I/everyone was hoping to hear. Six months was a long time to hold your breath Susan!! How very wonderful to KNOW that Jordan is as smiley, handsome and wonderful on the "inside" as he is on the outside. Thanksgiving in your house should/could start NOW and continue all the way to Christmas - when you can just change the theme - not that mindset and relief and joy and everything else wonderful that an Amato holiday brings. Talk to you soon....EXTRA tight Hugs for YOU and Jordan. XXOO-Love, me

Dear Susan: Ok - I officially started and erased six times now trying to say the "right" thing...so instead straight from my heart I feel your mommy worry. Jordan is so handsome - his smile radiates his whole being (I can only imagine how special the hugs). Somehow I believe that the pictures of your son really does mirror his wonderful, loving personality. Sure wish those inside pictures were as AWESOME as the outside pictures. Ok - in lieu of up close and personal hugs now - have a "light" thought...ok more like a full fledged wish/prayer/hope! It is my skewed thought process that says that those wonderful St. Jude crew just can't bring themselves to let Jordan go...he is their motivation - their success - he makes Danny Thomas's legacy live on....so maybe you should just agree to keep Jordan coming to "visit" and share his joy and let the medical stuff remain "stable"!!!
And, so glad that you got to see Tonya and "the boys" on the way home - I am sure you needed your friend as much as Jordan, Zach & Gabe enjoyed some boy bonding. So, here is the deal...get Jordan's doctors to fix their machines to give you/Jordan better news and let's plan a trip to Give the Kids the World as voluteers? I think Jordan, Zach & Gabe would be amazing hosts and let's get Brent a star there to symbolize his being with us in heart and spirit...

Praying!
Psalm 17:5-8 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.

Psalms 46:1-5 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

HAPPY EASTER....Hope there are LOTS of Amato's around to celebrate (that always means new pictures). Just wanted to take a break from bossing Neil around to tell you that I am thinking about you and all your little Easter Egg seekers. Unfortunately for us tax season just seems to supercede all else this time of year! While Neil takes it in stride crunching numbers 24/7 - I have been busy worrying about him and that he meets that 4/15 deadline. Happy Family/Holiday wishes...XXOO-Love, me & "the boys"

THIS DAY'S GREATEST GIFTS
We can't change the past…
But we can gather up
It's lessons and move on,
Stronger and wiser.
We can't control the future…
But we can send our dreams
Ahead of us
To help prepare the way.
We can live each moment…
Heart and soul,
And cherish this day's
Greatest gift…
The gift of now.
May peace with the past
And faith in the future,
Gently guide you through each
Precious moment of Today.

II Corinthians 12:8-10 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Hi - Just thinking with March Madness (aka basketball season) it is time to update with a new Jordan smile and sport appropriate jersey....(hurry - cause it will be baseball time again sooner than you think)or even a new Jordan picture surrounded by those beautiful nieces and nephew. Now that I provided you with some "inspiration" in the update department - I will be checking back more often. Obviously "some families" think change of season has to do with the weather - not so much in this house and I even have three less sons' than you!!! Dear Jordan: What a great way to end an old year and start a new! I just knew your mom had tons of good news to share via words and pictures...Sorry the medical days were not quite as pleasant and routine and that the social aspect had to take a back seat...but as they say - the end justified the means and getting good news, answers and a graduation to ACT is just awesome. So, congratulations on all that medical stuff....BUT

Being recognized - honored - and hopefully rewarded as Employee of the Month is just an amazing accomplishment. I know you work very hard, always dress for success and wear your bright smile like no other - but guess Wal-mart is successful for good reason. They hire the BEST and even better - they know it! Congratulations - I can only imagine the pride your family feels as well.

Any chance you can use your influence to have mom update a little more often - especially when she has so many of your milestones to share? And, while I am being my pushy/bossy self - please share your amazing spirit and give some Happy - Healthy - Good Wish Hugs to the Incredible Amato clan directly from New Jersey...

It's Christmas, hearts reach out and memories come alive in the warmth of love. Once again, it's Christmas - that delightful time of year when hearts are filled with gratitude and homes are bright with cheer. When everyone's remembering good friends and loved ones too - so naturally, the warmest thoughts and wishes go to you. May your home be filled with happiness, your hearts with love, and your days with joy - at Christmas and always! Friendship is a promise strengthened by each smile, each teardrop, and each treasure of life that’s shared. We share so much as friends — thanks for being a very special part of our lives. Merry Christmas.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

It's a privilege to be able to pray for your family!
Revelation 1:5-6 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

I was just checking in with everyone. Throughout the years we have made so many CB friends. I found this poem and thought it was perfect.

The Power of Friends
Everyone knows of the power of friends,
The terrific result, when everything blends.
When people have friends, they don’t stand alone;
Friends always help, when you face the unknown.

Friends give you courage to face problems untold,
So the love of a friend can help make you bold.
They can help you to live a much richer life,
So your every day living will be less filled with strife.

Thinking of you today.

So glad Jordan got to have that time with the Nason's! Knew he'd have a fantastic time!
These verses are so comforting. Continuing to pray!!!!!!!!!
Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Praying as always!
Psalms 116:1-5 I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

What It Means to Be an American

To believe in the promise of a better tomorrow, and stand united in our efforts
to give a peaceful nation to our children...
To honor each other's differences and cherish the richness of our history, even as it continues to unfold from sea to shining sea...
To love deeply our friends and family, day by day, and never take for granted
the privilege of calling ourselves American. America — we are more than a people, we are a family.

Hi there - the worrying is so much easier when you start with the good news result. Things here have been EXTRA hectic - some in not such a great way - but we are working on it. Reason for mentioning it is my way of apologizing for not being my manic self and checking for the exact dates for Jordan's St. Jude "inspire & leave" visit. Glad it was uneventful except in the way of moving forward....
Congratuations on your "baby's" graduation - while he looks great in his cap and gown - wearing the Amato signiture smile made the event even more special. Good luck in college (to all of you) as college is another "family milestone" in many ways.
My "baby" also graduated - but he plans on staying on for graduate school....his decision was GREATLY influenced by the 70 million dollar new athletic center and the opportunity for future employment if he stays local.
In any case, nice to see a few Amato family updated pictures and join in all your special celebrations. XXOO-Love, me

God bless America and keep us safe and free — Safe from all our enemies, wherever they may be... Teach us to walk humbly and closer in Thy ways, Give us faith and courage and put purpose in our days, Make each one of us aware that each must do his part, For in the individual is where peace must have its start — For a better world to live in where are all safe and free Must start with faith and hope and love deep in the heart of me. ~ HELEN STEINER RICE ~

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.

Dear Susan: Love and special wishes for a wonderful & Happy Mothers/Grandmother's Day! I am sure that for you no materialist "present" could ever compare to just being with your wonderful family. Enjoy their "company", hugs and love for YOU.
As for Jordan - he was too easy to find in the picture - all one had to do was look for a handsome smile! While we have chatted just a bit about my respect but limited knowledge of religion in general - there are some Jewish words that have become almost generic. One of my favorites is mitzvah....Jordan, looking so handsome, healthy, smiling and thriving is truly a "mitzvah" for all - especially when he "visits" his beloved St. Jude. He gives hope and faith to parents and warriors alike - and the joy, pride and motiviation to plunge on for his doctors, nurses, and all other medical related staff when seeing Jordan must bring you such pride. While you certainly would have NEVER wanted to your precious Jordan to be a "poster child" of sorts for of all things cancer - no one "styles" success with as much charisma and style as Jordan....knock their socks off this trip! Thinking of you throughout the National Day of Prayer. Prayer is so simple. It is like quietly opening a door and slipping into the very presence of God. There, in the stillness, to listen for His voice, perhaps in petition or only to listen, it matters not. Just to be there,
in His presence, is prayer.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12 (NIV)

Bless, O God, all who struggle with health concerns. Empower them with hope for each and every day. Provide them with loving and tender care, laughter, and the support of love. Grant them comfort when they are in pain, and your blessing when all else seems hopeless, that in their fight with illness they may continue to praise you and glorify your name. Amen. May you find comfort in this prayer today.

1. I know that my Redeemer lives;
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever-living Head.

2. He lives triumphant from the grave,
He lives eternally to save,
He lives all-glorious in the sky,
He lives exalted there on high.

3. He lives to bless me with His love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed,
He lives to help in time of need.

4. He lives to grant me rich supply,
He lives to guide me with His eye,
He lives to comfort me when faint,
He lives to hear my soul's complaint.

5. He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.

6. He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly Friend,
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while He lives, I'll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.

7. He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death:
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He Iives to bring me safely there.

8. He lives, all glory to His name!
He lives, my Jesus, still the same.
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives,
"I know that my Redeemer lives!"

A Day Of Wonders
by John van de Laar

The darkness may try to hide it, God,
but this is truly Good Friday;
a day of endless miracle, of incredible wonder.
That you would welcome the beam to your shoulders,
and beckon the nails to your flesh,
to crucify darkness in your own fragmented body.
That you would hold the gaze of hatred,
look boldly in the face of evil
and speak the soft words of forgiveness.
That you would embrace in your paralysed arms
your hardened companion in death,
and all who would seek comfort in you.
Promising a world made new,
and an eternity brought into the present moment.
Yes, absolutely a day of wonders and miracles
and we are in awe before its beauty.
Amen.

Praying for your family as we remember the sacrifices God and Jesus made to give us eternal life. May you feel His presence in your life always!

WOOHOO!!!!!!! An update! Sorry you've got to increase some of the meds, but glad there are meds that work!
My husband quoted the first verse of this hymn in his sermon tonight. It's so very comforting! Praying!

1. I fall asleep in Jesus' wounds,
There pardon for my sins abounds;
Yea, Jesus' blood and righteousness
My jewels are, my glorious dress.
In these before my God I'll stand
When I shall reach the heavenly land.

2. With peace and joy I now depart;
God's child I am with all my heart.
I thank thee, Death, thou leadest me
To that true life where I would be.
So cleansed by Christ, I fear not death.

The Lord knows everything that's going on and is always there, working. I'm here praying!
Hebrews 4:13-16 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Just stopping by to check in on you and to say hello, this Valentine's Day. Though I haven't said "Hi, there," in ever so long don’t think for a minute that anything's wrong — I keep pretty busy with things I must do, but I think of you often —believe me, I do.

Valentine treasures are people who have often crossed your mind, family, friends and others, too, who in your life have shined the warmth of love or a spark of light that makes you remember them; no matter how long since you’ve actually met, each one is a luminous gem who gleams and glows in your memory, bringing special pleasures, and that’s why this Valentine comes to you: You’re one of those sparkling treasures!

2 Corinthians 12:8-10 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

Thanks Susan for a sneek peek into Christmas 2008 Amato style = Your beautiful family wrapped tight in Love. I am sure Joe was missed - but having the time of his life in Australia. WOW - what an adventure he is on.

My guys got home at 2:00 am and as I sit here at 4:16 am doing Jarred's third load of laundry since he claims he is going back to school early(even though I know he will probably sleep late and could have done it in the daylight morning)I was so pleasantly surprised to see a little bit of your Christmas spirit/holiday photos.
We do need to work your your new "title" though - Grammy's Girls was perfect at first, but now we need to upgrade you to include the littlest Prince.

Hope Jordan is getting some well deserved down time from his hectic work schedule and that you don't take up bubble baths and bon bons now that you are no longer officially a car pool mom and have all that extra time -insert giant LOL. Apparently it is your four LITTLE sweety's that are keeping you SO young. XXOO to all the Amato's for a wonderful 2009

Hope only in the Lord! Praying in Seattle!
Lamentations 3:22-26 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

A brand new year stands before us. Sometimes a new year is very hard to face. Other times a new year is welcomed with open arms, with hopes that it will be better than the last one was. However you look at it, know that every day of this new year is in the Lord's Hands. He's already there waiting for you with open arms. And I'm here praying as always.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

A New Year Blessing Especially for You,
May the road you walk be a smooth one,
May your troubles be few — if any,
May the days and years that lie ahead
Be healthy, happy, and many,
May you have friends in abundance,
May the sun shine bright around you.
May the world be a wonderful place to live,
And may God's love always surround you.

Hope you have a joyful new year
