Allen - I am going to get you now that I know you are OK! You almost gave me a heart attack. Your mom would have bought you a prize at the giftshop even if you hadn't messed up your counts:)! HA HA You know I am teasing!

I am just so happy and relieved that Allen's bloodwork was perfect - answered prayers! Let's plan our next get together - NO hospitals!

Merry Christmas to all the Smiths!!
We are so happy that all the counts are clear. We are learning the importance of "good" counts. Radiation, chemo, blood work, then repeat has become our way of life!!
But things are going good, I guess.

Have a wonderful Christmas and we all will pray for a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Dear Smiths: I prayed late last night for Allen's tests today. When the alarm sounded, I began praying again for
virus to be found as the cause of the problem. Mr. Harold is working long hours in MS, but he, too, is praying constantly for Allen and entire family.

Psa. 103:1-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

I am praying for Allen using this entire Psalm.

With much love.

Precious, precious Allen and Family, as the Jews stood at the Red Sea with Moses, they saw no way to escape. But God was with them and He is with you as well. The Lord told us not to believe what we see, because we see through a cloudy glass. Instead, Stand Still and Know that I AM GOD and I will NEVER leave you or forsake you and I AM not a god who gives stones to his children, Rather I AM JEHOVAH GOD, ABBA FATHER and I have never lost one who believed in ME. Despite your trials BELIEVE, despite what your ears hear and your eyes see BELIEVE, as did the woman with the issue of Blood. KNOWREMEMBER & EMBRACE that I called Lazaruz by name, for had I not all that were dead would have come forth from their graves.
Lord increase this family's courage and faith, allow them to be witnesses of Your grace and mercy, regardless of what circumstances they see, as with the wall at Jericho and the Armys that surrounded them. Lord Bless Allen with the filling and indwelling of Your Holy Spirit, give him wisdom and insight beyond his years. Bless Allen's family with Your Holy Spirit's comfort and peace, and Bless them this day and everyday until this trial is over. Give them the faith of a mustard seed and of Job, to know that You are a God of wholeness and Holiness and restoration. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

Brad and Amy:

I just read Pam's e-mail and am just stunned and so saddened by this unexpected news. It's odd how the Lord works...just this morning on my drive to work I had an overwhelming thought to pray for Allen. I had no idea he was at St. Jude for a visit. I will earnestly pray for this precious child and for all of you as you prepare to meet this head on. God bless.

Amie and Brad, We are praying for God's grace to protect you and comfort Allen. We have Allen on prayers listing going out tonight.

Psalm 121
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Hey guys!! I have been thinking about the Smith crew. It seems like October is always a time that I think back to the precious weeks when I got to be at St. Jude with Amie and Allen. Also, having my new baby girl reminds me of all of my days with Hannah. I am grateful for all of those experiences especially now that I am putting them all back into practice. It is so great to think about Hannah and Allen being in school and Amie teaching. You guys are all on my heart and in my thoughts frequently!! Love you all.

It's cool you can go around in your "regular guy" disguise. Sometimes, when I have to do what I think of as "hard to do" things, I just think of you and your family and know that there is strength for all things. Congratulations on the end of chemo. I am Peyton Holubeks pastor, and on her page, the family was celebrating this milestone with you and suggested we add our 'Hooray's... May God be with you as you enjoy a bit more of normalcy together - and treasure every moment of it.

Thank You, God, that You have allowed us all to be a part of this mighty miracle in Allen's life. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for answering them in such a wonderful way. We praise you, Lord Jesus, for healing Allen's body, for holding Brad, Amie, Hannah and Allen in Your hands as you work in their lives, and for the life you have given us through your resurrection that we celebrated this week. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! for all the friends and families and strangers who prayed for Allen and offered support to them over the last three years. Bless all who called on Your name on Allen's behalf. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Hey Amie--- thought this would be really uplifting-- So I went to my advisor at Mississippi State a few weeks ago, and we started talking about how I was from near Monroe. She asked me if I knew the Raborn family because she had kept up with Jake's story...I told her that y'all knew them and about Allen so that she could keep up with him on caring bridge.... she started crying when she told me that she prays for Allen every morning... because she said that she has a little group of kids with caringbridge sites that she checks on and prays for every day...just by chance from seeing Jake's site... I just thought that was amazing! People you don't even know are praying for all patients... and specifically Allen! Hang in there!
