Carson's Webpage Welcome to Carson's Web Page. On August 23rd, 2004, at five months old, Carson was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Stage 4S--Low Risk. He finished his treatment protocol at 9 months old. Carson completed 12 weeks of chemo, 3 surgeries and 2+ years of followup radiology scans. He now only goes in for checkup appointments with his oncologist and gets his blood and urine levels monitored. This page has been provided to keep people updated and for Carson to read when he is older. Thank you for everyone's support!!

Thursday, July 31, 2008 2:35 PM CDT Hello everyone! I know that in my last post (almost 2 years ago) I said that I wasn’t going to update this page anymore, but Matt and I have decided that some would like an update. Especially those of you who have infants with neuroblastoma and are looking for success stories. I hope Carson’s story gives you hope! Life does get completely back to normal again after chemotherapy and radiology scans.
Carson is now four years old and is still doing great medically speaking. He has been cancer-free for 3 ½ years now. He visits the oncologist annually for a blood/urine test as well as a checkup. Carson has absolutely no memory of being sick, doing chemo or even having IVs and radiology scans up until he was 2 ½. We are so thankful for that. He has developed into a very social, funny and smart preschooler. So far we have seen no long term effects of the chemotherapy. However, his dentist says the chemotherapy may have contributed to his cavities in his teeth that he always seems to get!
As you have probably noticed in the picture above, Carson now has a little brother named Camden. Camden is 6 months old and was born two months before Carson’s fourth birthday.
We have one more exciting thing to share. Carson got to “Make-a-Wish” through the Make a Wish Foundation. We were completely shocked when they called because we thought you had to be considered “terminal” to make a wish. That is not the case. To be eligible to make a wish, you have to have a “life-threatening” disease and, of course, cancer is considered life-threatening. We asked if we could wait until he was four so he could remember this. So in May 2008, Carson wished to go to Disneyworld. We will go this fall. I’ll try to remember to add some pictures to this site after our trip.
Thanks again for all of your support and prayers! Kristi, Matt, Carson and Camden
