Hi Dr. James
My thought and prayers have always been with you but are even stronger at this time. You have always been there for me like a angle and you know I have always been grateful for you and the care you have given to me. Like others I couldn't ever believe what I was hearing. Know that I will always be here for you and if there is anything I can do for you just call me. Take one day at a time like I have been doing Take care of yourself Love Gina Augustus

So sorry to hear about the increased seizure activity I am Praying for you all,
My son Terry his seizures have started once again he was doing so well " we are now looking in to the VNS therapy to see if this can help him. we have gone to Little Rock to have MRI scans to see what is going on & what has caused the seizures to return the websight is www.vnstherapy.com the best thing the vns has to offer is most people can cut down on the amount of medication they take, thus doing away with all the side effects
Hope you find the right answers for your daughter and as always I will be Praying for you

I will call many people tonight asking for prayers for your family it breaks my heart to hear she is still having seizures,I know how hard it is to watch your child have seizures you want to help them and feel so helpless
Just continue to believe and Pray , What is the Dr saying is her medicine level to low ? I know every child is different Terry tried so many many meds with no luck PLease let me know if I can help you in any way her Dr will have to find the right combination of medicine to stop all of the seizure activity I have a list of meds ,the ones that worked for Terry and the ones that did not do anything at all and at times made him worse some of the side effects of some medicine it very hard for a child to tolerate. again please let me know if I can do anything and we will storm Heaven with Prayers for her now

Leiann,
Thinking of you, so sorry to hear you're doing the clindamycin/vanco thing inpatient, yuck, I hope you get to come home today.

G did vanco once, and turned red. It was like watching Violet Beauregard from Willy Wonka, she literally turned red before our eyes. Apparently that's a common allergy, some Benadryl took care of it, but she's very insistent that SHE gets to announce her allergy to any doc or nurse who asks. The triage nurses pointedly ask her now, so I don't get in trouble! : )

We'll be praying that the infection was caught early and James gets home SOON!!

I know you probably won't remember me but I came upon this website and wanted to let you know I'll be praying for your little guy. We have a family in our church who has been fighting leukemia with their baby since she was 8 weeks old and she has just gone through radiation last week. We know its a long, hard road. Praying that your little one will be able to tough this out (along with mom and dad) and that God will be glorified through it all.

I am sharing your story with someone I work with who has a 3 year old nephew named Cameron with a brain tumor. I hope Cameron and his parents will be inspired by your courage and determination.

Hello James,
I don't know if you remember me, but I was at the Burzynski Clinic the same time as you in May of 2004! I was with my James, but I fondly called him Jamie. Jamie was my soulmate and love of my life, who I lost while in Houston that very same visit. I guess to say I lost Jamie is silly, because I feel his spirit stronger every day! I will never forget our time together... James you touched Jamie and my life in so many ways. You are so smart, caring, and love life. You are such a prime example of how to live life... more people should live there life in this way. I pray and think of you so often! James you are strong, and I know you will beat this evil... and I know Jamie is looking over you and rooting for you as well! Take care and Peace to you and your family. You have an amazing mother!!!

Hi James Family,
We popped onto your site to say hello, we're members of the Optic Glioma support group too. Poppy, who is now 3, was dignosed with her OCG in March 2004 aged 14-months. She has just completed her Carbo/Vinc, but also had Etoposide. Her tumour showed good shrinkage after 17-moths of chemo. Her first post-chemo scan is on 28th Feb, how nervous we all are. We are very interested in your new treatment as radiotherapy is something that we are trying to avoid too. You look great on your photos! Poppy's website is www.poppyfieldsappeal.co.uk if you'd like to say hello to her too!!
Take care. Love & many prayers,

Hi James,
Your mom and I belong to the same on-line support group and I saw your caring bridge website address and wanted to check it out because I saw you are from Indiana, too! My daughter, Carly is older than you (she recently turned 15), but she also has an optic glioma tumor. She was dx when she was 13. We are gettig ready to travel to Boston Children's Hospital to have it removed in the next month or so. Carly also has Dr. Goldman as her oncologist. James, you are such a strong little man and as we tell Carly God is not finished with you, yet. He has a very special plan for your life that he decided long before you even entered this world and even though we don't see the big picture he has it all in his control. We will add you to our prayers as we do for all the people we have met traveling this path the past 22 months. We hope you will do the same for Carly. God Bless You and your family.

James and Leiann,
I hope James, that you are feeling better. All of the golfers on Sunday were so impressed with you. It was very exciting for them. Many of them having been coming to the golf outing for four years now and this is the first time they actually got to meet the child we are sponsoring. I am so glad that you could make it. I want you to know that I think you got yourself a few girlfriends too. They all fell in love with you.

I hope that second grade goes well. My little Dylan is having a hard time adjusting to being in school all day now. I am having a hard time also. Leiann, I don't know how you did it 5 times, seeing your children go off to school and you can not go with them. I actually miss him when he is at school.

Anyway, the last count I heard we raised over $10,000.00 so guess what> You and your famiy will definately be going to Disney. It is a wonderful place. Have fun and stay strong so that you can have fun while you are there. There is a lot to do there so don't over do it. Enjoy - It's vacation.

Leiann, I will see you at work. You should be so proud of James, he is a wonderful child.

All of our thoughts and prayers are with.
Good luck with the next MRI.

We have been there and know that it is rough, tiring and trying so just remember you are loved and that with God in your life, life does not seem that bad. James I spoke with your mom the other day and she is so proud of how strong you are and what a great boy you have become, just remember that and keep up the good work. My thoughts and prays are with you always.

Dear James and Leiann,

I am a friend of Tom Zuba (Rory's dad) who told us about this amazing little boy who could use some extra positve enrgy and prayers! As I read your sight I was amazed to see that we don't just have Tom in common but the one and only Stu Goldman! Stu has been my daughter Mackenzie's Doctor since we moved to the Chicago area in 1998 and I know you are in good hands. he has been a miracle for our family - we are all in love with this man who is good and kind and tells really bad jokes!

So know you are not alone, there are many that are with you hoping, praying, and sending you light and love as you go down this road with your beatiful angel.

You will be kept in our thougths and prayers always, Erin and Loren Nalewanski and Allie, Madison, Mackenzie, and Carter

James and family,
I heard about this adorable boy through the Zuba website. We are all so sad about Rory still but there is such a circle of love/positive energy/and PRAYERS that are circulating to for Tom and Sean. Just wanted you to know that James will be in my prayers still. Even though Rory is now gone. We still believe in miracles. Yes, God is Good!!

Hi James and family,
I just read about your needing to get back to Texas in April. I have posted a message on Rory's website about airline tickets. We were lucky enough to find people who had extra miles and airline tickets when the Zubas needed to travel. Hopefully someone reading your site or Rory's will have miles/tickets to donate as well. Anyone interested, Please feel free to contact me to help you out with the details.

James and family,
I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Keep the faith and make it a great day.

I may have to use that in the future. I can see you've been through a lot and came to wish you all the best. My daughter just started the carbo/vinc treatment for optic nerve gliomas. She's almost 3. Hi James. You and your courageous mom and beautiful family have given me hope...and I am so grateful! My 13 year old son was diagnosed with a brain tumor on 11-9-04...he had surgery at Children's in Chicago...we are in Washington State now having spent 2 days with an incredible doctor named, Deitrich Klinghardt. This genius told us to go see Dr. Bryzinski in HOuston...so we have
an appointment w/his people on Monday. It helps me to know that people like you have already seen this doctor and are being treated by him. I send you and your family many, many blessings!

Hello. I found your link on the PBT page. We are also from Indiana and just wanted to say "hi". My daughter,Cheyenne, was diagnosed in March 04 with a germinoma brain tumor. She had doctor Goldman for chemo at Riley and an IU doc for radiation. The last MRI showed no signs of tumor. Chey likes to pray for other kids with cancer, so if it's okay, I will add James to her list.

Just wanted to check in with you. My 7-month old grandson was diagnosed a month ago with an optic glioma after a well baby check revealed an unexpected head size increase. Now, four whirlwind weeks later, after an MRI, PET scan, biopsy, and shunt implacement, we continue to embark into areas unforseen! Results so far indicate a benign, slow growing gaglioglioma (bear with me on the terminology because this is all new to us). The tumor is intertwined with the optic nerve, and my grandson's main symptom is nystagmus. Next week my daughter is off to Hopkins for treatment discussions. If you have any thoughts, please let us know anything you think is helpful. We have a massive prayer chain out there and that is working well.

Hi Neubauer family! My name is Adrienne and my son Alex is also 6 years old and has an optic glioma. I found your site through the pediatric brain tumors yahoo group. We also live in Indiana and Alex's oncologist's name is Dr. Goldman, too! This Dr. Goldman is from Riley Children's Hospital, however, as that is where Alex is treated. Alex's next MRI is October 19 and we're a little worried, because his last MRI showed possible growth. Alex was treated with carbo/vinc and ended chemo 16 months ago. His site is www.caringbridge.org/in/alex. We wish James lots of success with his current treatments!
