Hi,

You've gone through so much for a long long time. My sons, my wife and I started this fight last September. My two sons who have ALD just got BMT this year in Korea waiting for recovery from BMT.

Hope your son gets better

My first visit to your site. Y'all have gone through so much! My heart aches for your family but God is Good All the Time! I wish to be one of your prayer warriors. Prayer is so powerful. Our family knows about heartaches and pain but we haven't lost a child so I can't say I know how you feel.

Please know that your family will be in my prayers!

Blessings!

Christi - It has been years (literally) since I have signed the guestbook. I found my way back here through the Joiners site. I apologize for having lost track. As I check off the days on the calender and think about where we were 4 years ago there are still times when the wound hurts as if it is brand new. I am glad for that actually, so that I never forget. Your boys are beautiful. It sounds like even through the stuggle they are doing well. Drop a line if you get a chance. I am glad that you have once again crossed our path. The ALD world is so small.
Fondly, Tracy

Dear Christie,

My heart aches for you. I too believe God has a plan, and I believe you are the perfect person to keep it. I promise to pray very hard on the 26th and 27th for your boys. No one can imagine how hard this disease is, I have seen it way to much. Collin is doing good, he had the chicken pox just a little while ago, and the flu a couple of times lately, but he is still involved in hockey, basketball and wrestling this winter. I am praying for a Christmas miracle this season, I am praying for a cure. May God Bless each and everyone on your family in this rough road.

Love to you all

I just wanted to let you know that I'm lifting you, your family and especially Bradley and Gabriel up to the Lord in prayer daily. I know you don't know me, but a dear friend of mine told me about the enormous burden you're under. My heart goes out to you and your faithfulness is truly an inspiration. Dear Christie,
Debbie sent me an e-mail today regarding the situation with Bradley and Gabriel. I am so sorry for the trial you are going through. I was so broken this morning when I heard the news. Please know that I am praying for your family and especially the boys. Their names are on our prayer list at Grace Baptist Church and please be assured they will be lifted up in prayer daily. Your strength and hope is so inspiring and I know that it is because of the precious grace of our God. Please continue to trust Him and lean upon Him when you feel you can't go on. His strength is "perfect" when ours is gone. God bless and keep your family in His care.

Hello, just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. You know it takes very special people to handle the things that your being delt with right now. God only gives you what you can handle. I've learned so much from Carol and her son Kyle. They were so strong. Carol said over the weekend, she takes one SECOND at a time. Do that, enjoy what you have right now even though days may seem crazy and overwhelming but also remember all the great memories you made with your boys. Take care and stay strong.

Dear Friend,
God call me out of bed tonight to check on your web-site and some other things I needed to do on-line.I talk to you and see you so often, but until I read it, sometimes I don't see it as clearly. Forgive me. My heart breaks to know only alittle of what your going through. You are still the best Mom for Bradley and he still is saying "thank-you Mom"and loves you so much in the best way he knows how. Nothing can take that away. Standing back watching, I can be a witness to your love and see how important and precious children can and must be to our lives. You put a whole new meaning to "Love never fails". Love, Cheryl

To the Smiths,

I think about you all and my prayers are with you! Collin is almost 2 years out--October 11th. He broke his arm this summer at wrestling camp, so he had a cast on. He is all healed and now he is in football, soccer and fall hockey. He so missed school too. I home schooled him -- but in the end I got a tutor for him. He starts 3rd grade this year. He missed all of first grade, but he just skipped over that. I am very sorry the other kind of treatment didnt work out--I so prayed it was the answer. Keep on plugging away its worth every minute.

My prayers are with your whole family

Hello Mom, Dad and the Boys!
Looks like all 3 boys inherited Mom's smile! The web page is a great idea and I'm sure your son's will enjoy receiving messages from all around the world. I'm a mom from Chicago, Illinois. My children, Michelle (8) and Jack (4) were preemies (Michelle was 1 lb 10 oz at birth) and I heard so many dire predictions when she was in the hospital (3 months in the NICU) that, when I look back, I wonder how I kept going. But you should see this miracle kid learning multiplication today! Never underestimate the strength of your children to beat this disease Mom! They look absolutely wonderful. Your choice to share your story is so helpful to parents who need to feel less alone in their struggle. The folks at the simple living site are praying for you. Hi from Chicago Boys! The All-Star baseball game will be played here on Tuesday..hope you can practice catching some grounders and pop-ups this summer. If you watch the game on t.v., look for us in the Bleachers (my favorite seats!) wearing silly Hawaiian shirts- I'll be waving to you!...love, Rita from Chicago

Dear Christie & Carlton,
I have been out of town two of the last three weeks with our church youth group. I didn't know the latest news on Gabriel & Bradley so I was really excited to get the e-mail from Lisa W. about this new website. The pictures are great! Please tell the boys I love them and we're still praying for you all.

Dear Friends,
I'm glad to hear that Gabe is doing better. You are always in our hearts & prayers. I know that this has been hard on all of you. We could never be able to say that we know how you feel, but we all grieve for the pain that all of you are going through. Jesus never told us that things would be easy, but He has promised that will be with us always, carrying us along when we're to weak to walk. He's carrying you now. Let Him be your strength, & feel His love surround you. We are so glad that God provided a place for you to be together. Everytime we go to McDonald's we donate to the Ronald McDonald house. We love and miss you all. His Love & Mine, Becky

I AM AUNT JUDY'S NEIGBOR & I WORK FOR SEARS COLLECTIONS UNIT. THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE ARE ALL PRAYING FOR YOUR FAMILY, & I HAVE DECIDED THAT THEY ARE SOME OF THE MOST WONDERFUL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. THEY ARE OF ALL AGES,FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE & ALL HAVE STORIES OF THERE OWN,BUT THERE IS NEVER A DAY THAT GOES BY THAT SOMEONE DOESNT ASK ME ABOUT THE BOYS. AS ONE LADY SAID TO ME ONE DAY "THE BOYS DONT HAVE TO BE RELATED TO ANYONE THAT WORKS AT SEARS,THEY ARE 3 LITTLE BOYS THAT NEED OUR HELP" SO TODAY WE ARE HAVING A BAKE SALE FOR YOUR CHILDREN. THERE ARE 3 FLOORS THAT HAVE DIFFERENT UNITS. SO MOST OF THESE PEOPLE I NEVER SEE & DON'T KNOW THERE NAMES, BUT THEY HAVE TAKEN YOUR FAMILY ON AS IF THEY KNOW YOU PERSONNAL. PLEASE KNOW YOUR FAMILY IS LOVED. REMEMBER THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE HERE FOR YOU. IF YOU ALL NEED ANYTHNG LETS US KNOW & KNOW THAT SOMEONE AT SEARS ROEBUCK & CO AT 12201 BLUEGRASS PKWY IN LOUISVILLE KY WILL FIND SOME WAY TO HELP! PS ANUT JUDY IS ONE OF THE BEST PEOPLE I KNOW, SHE IS MY NEIGHBOR & ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS

Dear Friends,
As I read over the last couple of days of your journal, I realize you all have been through so much just this week. I pray that just knowing that people care so much for your family helps you through some of the bad times. The journal is such a good thing. I have to admit, I have wanted to ask more questions but didn't know how. This way it comes freely from your own words and in your own time. I don't have any answers, but I can be your friend. I am here when ever you need me. Just 5 more days and I'll be there to give you an embracing hug! I'll call on Monday night before we get to Minnesota.
Because He Lives, You Can Face Tomorrow! Love, Cheryl Robinson

Christie,

Thanks for the web page. My thoughts and prayers are for your family--I am here for you. I hope there is a lot of progress this week. This is a horrible disease and I hope someday there is a better treatment. Thanks for the updates. Keep on trucking-remember one day at a time. Its really hard to believe Collin is 20 months out exactly today. Hope we get some sunshine today. Lots of Love,
Deidre
