You are just Soooooo cute little man. This is the first time i have come to youre site. My daughter was diagnosed Sept 03 with stage 4, she was 6 months old at the time. Hi Jakie and Mommy!
Baba Bones is finally here again........boy have we been busy or what!! Between trying to play catch up and everyone of us getting sick, we seem to get farther behind! Oh well we been having fun too. Jake's Dr. ( Singer ) took us all out for lunch yesterday at Culver's...what a wonder ful Doc. not to mention his staff of nurses and wife...how lucky we are to have such a wonderful support system. Last night we went to watch our girls ( Ella and Lexie ) run for their school in a jog-a-thon, they were wonderful!!!!! Mommy missed it because she was at school, so we had our lil man Jake. He was a major hoot! Happy as can be.......just running around smiling at everyone and playing with all the children, big and small. Our newest grandchild, Gracie was so perfect. Never cried, just happy to watch all the commotion around her. Papa and I feel like we are the luckiest grandparents alive...all four babies happy and smiling.
On the other hand we have reached a point of being emotionally exhausted. We (well ok mainly me) cry at the drop of a hat, also am so very tired it seems. I'm sure this is all very normal after all we have been thru. Kell is now trying to find a job so we can get back to a somewhat "normal" life. I'll be taking care of Jake while Mommy works part time. This is going to be very hard on her....she is afraid of missing anything with Jake. She also feels tired, but of course does not show it. Kell is very grateful of all the support given to her and all of us, but it's so hard to ask for help. So off she goes to work, we think it's a good thing. She is battling so much on her own. What a strong woman. This family is very proud...once again.
I would like to mention some names here no order just as they come to me: Pastor Borhart, Linda Gieseke, Bill Steltenpohl, Sheila Trah, Mary Jones, Bob and Joyce Koplin, Dana, Patty and Dan Mecum, Kim and Mark Martin, many parents at Zion, Lynn Bradley, Dawn Caldwell, Karen Sutera, many many students at Zion, Chris, Jerry Gieseke and family, Marengo Fire department, Dan and Maura Stout, Bruce and Maria Brothers, The Grismer family, The Brackmann family, The Dahls, Kelly's Plumbing, Mike and Nancy Degan, our special nurses Shannon, Kelly, Mary etc.,Sandee and Marissa Dunker these people have done countless kind acts for this whole family....you all are forever in my prayers of thanks and blessings to God.
The next names are what we consider our life support. In no order also: Kay and Ray Clark, Stu and Sharon Callovi, Wade Walden, Robin Hartman, Jim, Tracey, Cody and Tyler Schwartz, Larry Schwartz, Ron and Norma Schwartz, Wayne and Deb Schwartz, Dad and Mom Schwartz, Mom Oneby, Pat and Hopie Oneby, once again all the Gieseke families, we truely could not have made it without you all!!!!
Next up are names of my heart: Patty Wojdyla......my buddy, my life long girlfriend...I love you sooo, you are SUPERCALAFRAGILISTICEXSPEALADOSHIST! lol.. Joyce Mohr (Patty's mom) oh how you have made me laugh when I needed it...I love how you love our God! Sharon and Stu, our dear friends that are our family now....geez how will you ever know how much we love you both?? Kay and Ray Clark we are so fortunate to have you as family we feel that we were given a gift from God.
To Dale (my life), how can it be possible after all these years to love you more?
To Shane...my son...when I type that I weep with joy. You have been our rock. You have far exceeded our hopes and dreams. I know you are a man now but I see you as the light in our lives and as a unexpected gift. I hope you know that Dad and I could not have gone thru all of this without you Shane, when the chips were down you rallied us to get with it and keep going. You never cease to amaze us!!!!
To Gigi....our daughter-in-law..once again tears of joy. You really need to understand what you mean to us...love just isn't adaquate in describing how much you mean to us as our Son's wife or our granddaughter's Mother. You my dear are a precious gift that we will be forever grateful for.
To Kellie...my daughter...well the tears are rivers now...I feel you are an unbelievable force in this family...the strength you have shown us all is immeasureable. What you have endured has strengthened your bond with God, this has been wonderful to see. Your heart is so full of beauty and it shows. Your courage is to be awed by us all. You my Dear are a treasure.
Whew....well thanks to you all for being such a beautiful part of our lives, and I'm quite sure I'm forgetting many names. When I do remember more you can bet you will see them in print soon! I won't start on my grandbabies.....it's all written down for them in my journals for them.
Thanks for reading Jake and Kell's guestbook and now you all know why I go to bed so late....praying to God every night and asking him to bless and take care of each of you takes time! But you all are so worth it! Thanks again...

As I read your words in your last update, I first started crying, then wanting to scream WHY, and ended with laughter. I felt like we were there with you going thru every minute. Thanks for your heart and sharing baby Jakes terrible fearful day and YOU with all those hated HIGHs and LOWs.
FROG is my favorite, when going thru all these tough days just as you described, and Sunshine is what I tearfully look for out the window from the clinic and/or hospital, it always feels so far away. BUT THEN the miracles pop in and just keep us going and going........I loved your words and so glad we are keeping in touch thru our websites - CAN'T wait to have baby Trenton meet baby Jake one day soon - well, healthy and free of this horrible beast.

What a little cutie you are. I found your site by way of Dylan Hartung's. I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and your family. I can almost say we have been there. Every circumstance is different, but...
My little girl Abigail was diagnosed with Stage III neuroblastoma when she was 4 and a half months old. And guess what, I have some great news. She had her tumor removed, did chemo, and in November, she will be NED for 3 years.

Hello Kellie & Baby Jake,
A mutual friend, Nancy Anderson, called today to let me know the good news! Your probably wondering why she called me, well many years ago, when she was sick, I gave her the medal, that was blessed at Medjugorje, for my son Ryan. Ryan was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease at the age of 6 months. His illness was one they had never seen before in anyone under the age of 2yrs., as a matter of fact, they weren't even sure what he had, until about 2 yrs ago, they could only classify his disease as a type of glomerular nephritis. His disease literally chewed up his red blood cells & produced stroke level blood pressure readings (300/180! that's not a typographical error). During the first three years of his life he almost died on us 7 times, that I can recall, because his hemoglobin would drop below 5 (normal is between 10-15), dispite weekly transfusions. Needless to say, we did not think he would make it to kindergarten. But, that was back in 1987, he received a kidney transplant in 1990, at Childrens, and is now a healthy, normal 18 year old, with a big case of "Senior-itis" (he graduates in June!). I'm so happy for you and your family for the miracle you've received through the intercession of Our Lady of Medjugorje. I can only hope, that one day you too, will pass the medal on to someone else who is in need of a miracle, just as everyone who has possessed this medal has done. Congratulations! Best wishes! Hang on to your hat, Mom. . .Looks like terrible 2's are just around the corner—enjoy every minute of it! He'll be having "Senior-itis" before you know it!

Hello Mommy and Jakie!
Here I am this beautiful Wednesday morning preparing a roast for dinner and getting ready to pick up my gorgeous grandaughters from school so we can have a treat day when my phone rings............it is my honey Dale asking me if you ( Kell ) has called to tell me the good news. I said no she hasn't called me yet........well it seems that our Jake has now absolutley no evidence of cancer left!!! Like I said it is a beautiful Wednesday morning! So Papa and Baba had a good happy cry and we said we needed to say a prayer of thanks to God right now...so we did. We also asked God to bless all those who prayed for you and Jake. To all of you who touched our lives during our trying time please understand how much you helped us .........we will never forget any of you, ever.
We are working on thank you cards now....I need to invest in Hallmark!! Our local newspaper will be doing a story on Jake soon so I'm told. In this paper will be a public "Thank you" to all of our special praying angels. How do you really let people know how they affected your life??? I know I keep saying thanks to God for them and I try to tell these wonderful people ...but....do they really understand??? I pray they do. Well Kell and Jake we've had a miracle...again!

Hi Everyone!
Baba Bones wants everyone to read about what Jake and Mommy have been doing. Jake has been a bit unsettled since he came home, it's hard for him not to move and when he does he is very cautious. So we all have been trying to keep him busy. We had our wonderful neighbors, the Brothers ( Bruce, Maria, Bruce's mom Lois and Maria's mom Anna ) the Stouts Maura and Holly......they brought us a wonderful dinner! Lasagne, salad, garlic bread, and lemon cake! It was fantastic! Auntie Bird had dinner with us too! After we ate we took the family to stroll around the square so Jake could "drive" his cozy coop, and Papa bought Jake icecream. Saturday morning came with Uncle Shane calling to take Jake and Mommy to the Boone County Fair, Jake sure loves his Uncle Shane,and those smilely girls Ella and Louie! Then of course Papa and Baba came too! We really enjoyed a few hours together. We then went home and we all took a lil nap. I hope to make a huge batch of chocolate chip cookies with Jake Sunday so we can take them to the Firemen on Monday, and to our nice neighbors ( we have many ) to thank them for all that they have done. So as you can see we are trying to keep our Jake "eye and hand" busy, it seems to be working!
We also would like everyone to know about Jake's other Baba. Her name is Kay Clark and she is our daughter in-law's ( Gigi ) mom. This wonderful woman on Thursday,when she found out we might be coming home surprised us by cleaning both the houses! We have always loved her so much.........and Jake really loves her, you can always count on him smiling when he sees "Baba Kay". Kay if you are reading this.........THANK YOU! We do love you so......we always have.
Well it's time for some sleep so we can have energy for ideas to keep Jake busy! Thanks to all once again! May God bless each of you!

Well Papa and Baba made it home but we are missing you both very much! We had to come back for the business, but we will see you bright and early tomorrow morning! I hope you sleep well tonight baby, when you do you heal much better. You have been such a courageous lil guy, and Jake your Mommy......well I can honestly say Baba has never seen such faith and strength in a woman this age. Talk about a very happy lil guy...WOW!Your Dr. Reynolds also said you MIGHT come home tomorrow...yep you all read this right! Jake might be able to come home Thursday! He has done so wonderful that they feel he may be ready to release. This was such great news....it was so needed today! We still are waiting for the pathology reports but we are feeling good about those too! Pastor and Vicar Jeff came by with smiles and prayers today. Everyones prayers are so soothing to us, and they are working! We can't say thanks enough to you all. We do thank God for all of you.
Well this Baba has work to do now. We love you Jake. Kell ........ I have no clue how to let you know how proud your Dad and I are of you. You have amazed us on many different levels. But most of all right now, we could not be more proud of your " Mothering Love and Devotion" to your son. It always makes us feel so good when we watch you looking at him, and your arms holding him. This is what God has given us...our family.

Well it's after 2am and I have been reading all these notes from everyone. Jakie, Baba Bones needs you to know that many of these people we have known for years, some are people Baba has worked with and I truely love these folks, some are relatives, your Godparents, dearly loved friends of ours and Mommy. Well this is so exciting, only one more chemo day!!!! Then off to tests and surgery. We see a rainbow coming soon. Just a reminder on how much Baba and Papa love you two, we would do it all over again without even blinking..............but we are so very happy the get well place is working on our lil man! You are such a happy baby now and boy oh boy can you crawl! Now you are starting to talk and "drive" your corvette....with Papa's help of course.
