Daniel, I only know you from the time I spent as a camp consular on your Regis Yahoo trip. You're a fine young man, and love life. Also I know that Thomas will take good care of you, and I will pray for both you and Tom.

I thought I would just "pop in" and say hello. I was looking for an update to see how Daniel is doing and realized I had not written in awhile. It was really nice seeing you whole family at OCC this weekend. What a blessing it is to be a part of that and it looked like Daniel was enjoying getting to learn how to make boxes. God bless you all.

hi daniel and family!
i was more than delighted to see an update on your sight, and i especially enjoyed all the pictures of daniel, thomas, and sylvia! daniel looks very happy, the expression on his face in more than one of those pictures is priceless. thomas looks like he is doing an amazing job of being there for his little brother - that is really neat to see. sylvia, hang in there! you have such a great attitude about all of this, even though i know it can't be easy for you. god will lead you though. i look forward to more updates in the future! tell "daniel joseph canfield" hello from "michelle leigh foster." :)

Hi Iowa friends,
I looked at some more of your pictures and had to drop a line to say that all of you look great! Daniel and Thomas have certainly grown and Sylvia...you look like a college kid with your new haircut! (Larry is going to have to hand off the camera to someone else so he can have his picture taken too.) We are hoping and praying that the new cells are doing the right thing. Keep in touch...

Hi All,
It is so great to read an update. I've thought of you so often and have been wondering how things are going for all of you. On many occasions I've almost called.

Uncharted territory is very scary. Yet, Daniel and Thomas are making medical history right now. I'm convinced that we aren't put on this earth for ourselves, but for what we can do/give to others. Wouldn't it be amazing if this was the beginning of a new treatment for ALD? What a contribution to the world that would be!!! Wow! A task like that would have to be given to a strong, faithful family. Like it or not, you're the right ones for the job!

We'll be hoping, praying and watching for good news updates. Sending many hugs your way!

Stacy

P.S. Have you checked on Matthew Watson from ND? He's back at the RMH undergoing an experimental treatment.

Hello Sylvia, Daniel and Thomas! I have been thinking a lot about you and hoping things are going ok for all of you. You have a lot of people who care and are praying for you. I had disconnected my internet service for about a year and had kind of lost track of what had been going on but always hoping and praying for things to improve. I am glad to see that they are.

I dropped off a book at Hillside church for Daniel several months ago and wanted to make sure he received it. I ran across it at Barnes and Noble and instantly thought of you guys and what you have been through. I would love to hear from you Sylvia! God Bless and Take Care! Stephaney Kuehl

Sylvia and family,
Thank you for the latest news on Daniel. Know that you and your family continue to remain in our prayers. God is so good -- and while the wait is sometimes difficult for us to endure, we always know that God never leaves us. He is always at our side.
We are so pleased to know things are on a steady course. God bless all of you. "Be bold! Be strong!"

Hello for NC
Just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you guys. I also need to thank you for your inspirational update. We are also in the waiting stage, very thankful to God for Sidney to be doing as well as she is but still waiting. Waiting and tring not to be so consumed with the waiting that we miss the spirtiual growth. (If that makes sense) We will continue to pray for Daniel and the rest of your family and may your waiting end soon.

Hi Larry, Sylvia, Daniel, Thomas and Jen,

I check your site often and keep you in my prayers. I apologize for not writing sooner, but my computer is still having a lot of issues. I can usually get the incoming things, but can't send anything out. (I'm typing this from school.) We are going to have to make a trip to the computer doctor very soon.

You must be exhausted from all of the waiting. I really believe that's the hardest thing to do. Everything seem so out of one's control at that point. However, I've come to the conclusion throughout Andy's journey that I really didn't want to be the one in control. There were so many factors I didn't know about and I would have messed things up for sure, probably by being too impatient. We were way better off trusting God's plan and timing. (Of course, I would have liked him to send me a note or an email to explain His plan, but that didn't happen. I guess that's why we just have to have faith.)

Just know that lots of prayers are being said and that we are sending big hugs your way. Stay strong, patient and faithful!

Love,
The Leonards

Hi, Daniel! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! I want to wish you and your family a Happy New Year! Christmas here was very exciting with our six grandchildren! They had lots of fun opening presents. We went to Wisconsin to visit family. The weather was good for traveling. I have started taking down Christmas decorations - but our tree is still up. We go back to school on Tuesday. Vacation time goes so quickly! Now it will be time to write report cards, and that is a big task. Hope all is well. I am thinking of you! God bless. Dear Daniel, Hi! I hope your family had a nice Thanksgiving! We had Thanksgiving with our kids and grandkids last week Sunday. Wow! What a busy house it is here with everyone! Everyone had a good time with plenty of food to eat. We drove to Eau Claire, Wisconsin last Wednesday. My niece hosted Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. Her house was very active, too! It was nice to see and visit with my brothers and sisters and their families. We hadn't seen them since last July. It snowed up there on Friday as we were leaving to return to Iowa. The roads were a little slippery until we got to Prairie du Chien. The snow added another hour or so to our trip, but we made it home safely. My grandson made his First Reconciliation this morning, so we babysat my other two grandchildren. We babysit two other granddaughters this evening. Life is very busy around here! It is hard to believe that my vacation is almost over. It is back to school on Monday! I was thinking of you and wanted to say hi. I hope everything is going well for you! Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Mrs. Brunner
