Hi Marcia,
I don't expect you to remember me, but I wanted to say hello. My daughter, Jordan took ballet with Zoe at CDA in... 2003?? I was cleaning off a bulletin board tonight and found the slip of paper that you wrote Zack's Caring Bridge information on for me all those years ago. Jordan and I just found out last month that she and Izabel (Iza), who was also in the class at CDA, go to Lakeside together - small world. Hope you & the family are all doing well!!

Zack,
I'm just discovering who you are and I wanted you to know that even though I'm just catching up on your story you and your family are truely inspiring. My daughter has just been diagnosed with brain cancer and I have so many fears, questions, concerns and now hopes. Your story continues to bring others up and challenges me to smile when things seem to be so upside down. thank you for going into alot of the shadows before my daughter to light the way so that we can see more of the things that lurk there.

Hello to Zack and his family! How wonderful it was to see your familiar faces on the front page of the FCN this week. Jordan and Brayden both said "Hey, we know them"! Marcia, I feel bad that when I saw you last year, while picking up my son's artwork, I didn't specifically ask how Zack was doing. It is wonderful to hear of his good health. I will pray that it continues. Best of everything to all of you. Zack, you are quite the brave, strong, inspirational young man. We wish you the best!

Just checking in on Zack and read Kurt's posting. Sorry to hear about the job situation. I will keep my eyes and ears open to any jobs that might come about. Keep the faith and definetly accept the help from others. We had bracelets made to help with the financial burden in Kylie's case, let me know if you want the info. People have been buying them like crazy, over 2000 at $5. It adds up and helps the costs of care. I was umemployed for 17 months and finally gave up on basketball and found a real job. As I was taking the job Kylie was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. I have walked your path. Keep the faith, God doesn't give us anything we can't handle.

We know what you're going through. Drew was unemployed for 17 months straight, including the few months after Kylie's diagnosis. Thankfully, with the help of others, our patience and, most importantly, the grace of God, we were able to make it through those 17 months and God led us to the RIGHT job for him. We will keep our ears open and pray that God also leads you in the right direction. May God bless your family.

I'm so glad everyone is having such a great week! I pray that everyone continues to get along and enjoy each other! My neice and nephew are 16 and 14. I have prayed since they were born that they would be great friends. As all sibling do, they have their moments, but they really do love each other and have a blast together. They are always making the whole family laugh! It's so much fun to watch them literally "belly laugh" at each other and with each other. I'll pray that Zack and Zoe are best friends as well!!

Hi Zack! I just wanted to let you know that you're in my prayers everyday, I pray for a cure, I pray for your comfort and for your mommy, who I send hugs to even though we've never met. Marcia, I'm a mom of 2 kids and and know that the love of a mother for her child is the most amazing, deep and painfull love, nevertheless, it's unlike anything anyone will ever experience. Because of the strength that I see in all of the parents in CaringBridge I have decided that childhood cancer is my cause and I need to do something to help, so I check on all of you daily (I hope I don't get fired for being on the net all day! Yikes!) and I'm looking to volunteer my time at Childrens Hospital here in Hollywood and maybe even at our local Ronald McDonald house, though my life has not been touched or rather shaken by Cancer I still feel strongly about this cause, more than any other, anyway, much love and strength coming your way. Many good thoughts to you little Zack and know that you have a friend in Southern California who prays for you daily! Hugs, Andrea

You said to write what ever we want (dangerous with me). We want pictures of you guys riding aronnd the neighborhood in the kids cars. I would do the same thing if I could fit. We didn't have those when I was little. What is it with Sunday fevers? Ben had one that cleared the 101 mark so we went to the ER. I have never seen the ER so busy. I'll bet there were 50-60 kids in there. The staff was beside themselves. Fortunately, cancer kids with fevers get VIP treatment. We never even sat down in the lobby! Ben's fever broke quickly and were sent home.

We'll pray harder that you guys catch a few breaks here.

Marcia:
I wish I'd read this before we saw you on Saturday. Even though our circumstances have been different, I really understand what you are saying. Let's talk about how we can help. Would Zoe come with us? Could we come get her and take her to a park? We'd love to help.

This disease takes its toll in so many ways. I'm so proud of you for reaching out for help. It is so hard to admit that you need help and to ask for it, but there are so many people around who WANT to help you through this. We stand among them, ready to do anything!!!
Lots of love,
Kristin

I'm not sure what I can do to help, but count me in. I can round up some Lighthouse volunteers and we'll do what we can to help out! I check the website daily!

My dear Marcia, you did a really good job of explaining what you need - I am confident you will get more help than you can use initially. Just know that I am always willing to drop whatever and be of any kind of help I can be. You and Kurt have done a fine job over the last years and I am glad that you are dealing with the after-effects which would hurt even the best of marriages. Love to the family, Mom

We are so sorry to hear about the tough times you're having.
But, what a blessing to have Zach on the comeback trail ....... hopefully - very soon he'll be living a normal, healthy, pain free life. We can only imagine what you must be going through.

We would be glad to take Zoe for a day, and I'd also be glad to take Zach fishing, or to the golf driving range sometime, to give you two a break.

when we see the calendar - we'll try to set up a day.

We had our first ultrasound today, and everything looks great - still couldn't tell if he's a boy or not. :)

see you on Sunday

Hey Zach!
Love your new site. (Although I loved the other one too!) We can't wait to see you this weekend at Light the Night. I think Ben will be in a wagon most of the walk so if you want to join us for a while, we'll save you a seat! We sure missed you at Camp Sunshine this weekend. But we'll be sure to sign up the next time when you'll be there.

Stay tough and don't let that chemo keep you down!
Love,

Hello Marcia, Zach, and family,
You are in our prayers. I worked with Marcia at Big Creek Elementary when she was pregnant with Zachary. I keep up with Carol Hempker who was also a teacher at Big Creek with us. I just wanted to let you know that we are thinking about you.

Love and best wishes,
Joy Heaberlin and family
