I have been praying for you since the beginning of this difficult journey when you were a child, Joseph. My prayers for you and your family will not cease. Your Mom is a dear friend and coworker at In Touch. May God bless you and your family with healing, strength, peace, and the knowledge that you are surrounded in loving prayers! Joseph, I am a friend and co-worker of Rachel's. As a fraternal brother (Omega Psi Phi) to her Greek Sorority (Delta Sigma Theta), I pledge to provide over watch and assistance to her during her journey here at Aflac to the best of my ability. As a friend, I would invite you to the Book of James 1:2-3: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." I encourage you to continue your educational pursuits, and to discover the remaining three Cardinal Principals of my great fraternity. My God keep you and watch over you until the day you enter into Omega Chapter.

Congratulations to Joseph on completing chemo. May he be blessed with good health and much success in the years ahead. Enjoy the experience of college...you deserve it! You have a beautiful family, too.

I am the mom of a 15 year old girl that had a large, highly agressive MPNST (Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor) removed from her right axillary arm/shoulder area in 2/07.

Hi Joesph and family, Congratulations on making the prom! Robert just finished his chemo! His MRI,CT and PET scans came back CLEAR! He had to go 52 weeks of chemo, no surgery also and you had one more drug than he did which is the DOXORUBICIN, but you are both clear that is the amazing thing. I was wondering why you guys don't go for a transfusion of red blood cells to bring up his count? When it is at 1.01 we were told that is too low and he could have a heart attack or stroke so Robert's got down to 6.2 and he wanted to have fun at the prom so after chemo was finished he decided to get a transfusion, and what a difference! He is doing great and is excited about life and I continue to pray for you both for a miraculous healing for life! God is so good even during this journey! What a testimony both of you young men have been for the LORD! Praise God for all your blessings! God bless, Linda, Roberts' mom www.caringbridge.org/ca/robertdunseath

Hi! You do not know me but I read your dad's post on the rhabdo-kids email list. My daughter Kiersten is 21y.o. and was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in August 2004. IT was in the orbit of her eye and sinuses. It came back on the lining of her brain in Dec. 2006. She played basketball in HS and one year at Goucher College in Maryland. She has spent the last 2.5 years fighting Rhabdo.

Kier takes 4 art classes, babysits, and is trying to do all the things on her life list that will make her happy. We went to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Broadway play RENT, We got to meet the NJ Nets thanks to a neighbor, and we went to the Women's Final Four in Cleveland. She wants to see all 50 states. She has 27 to go.

It is so great that you made your prom. You havve a beautiful family and you look so dashing in your tux, top hat and cane! I hope you have a great graduation. My 18 year old son is graduating June 9 and hopes to go to University of Arizona( our HS is fooling around with his transcript).

Keep on fighting! Enjoy life!

A giraffe looks in my window
At the same time everyday,
He just appears with silly ears,
When I turn on the light to play.

I tell him the things I do at two
While he munches and crunches the leaves,
That are so very tasty too,
From the tippy tops of the trees.

One night he didn’t look so good,
His eyes were filled with pain.
I asked him, "What is the problem, the food?"
He said, "I must explain!"

"My knees are hurting pretty bad
And my long neck is so sore.
I really do like our talks,
But I can't take much more!
If you do a favor for me,
I know how my pain will be free.

CAN YOU MOVE UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR!!!

Joe,

I have never met you, but I do know your father. As you go though these difficult times, remember that God can turn bad into good, and that He can use your trials to accomplish His greater purpose. "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) Know also, that there is an army of believers praying for you, and that God listens to and answers the prayers of His children. My prayer for you today, is that God will give you a glimpse of His plans for you, so that this may be an encouragement to you and your family.

Already, He is using your situation to speak to other cancer patients who may not know Jesus. When I think about victims of this illness, I am reminded of the story of Hezekiah, who was told by God Himself (through Isaiah), that his days on earth were over. (2 Kings 20) Hezekiah prayed to God. God healed him, and then gave him 15 additional years of life. This shows the true power of prayer! If Hezekiah was told by God Himself, that his life was over, and prayer caused God to change His mind, how much more will prayer impact the lives of individuals who are delivered similar news by mere doctors?

May God bless you, provide healing, and use your trials to bring others to know Him.

Joseph:

The LORD is your shepherd, you shall not want.
He makes you lie down in green pastures;
He leads you beside quiet waters.
He restores your soul;
He guides you in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, fear no evil,
For God is with you;
His rod and His staff will comfort you.
He prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies;
He anoints your head with oil;
Your cup overflows.
SURELY goodness and loving kindness will follow you ALL the days of your life,
And you will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Hi Joe,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having a crummy day. I find that when I pray for you and your family, lately it has been on my heart to ask the Lord for a touch of His mercy, along with His healing. Hi Joe,

I wanted to post the following message I sent to student council members this morning... Mrs. P

Dear Student Council Members,

I wanted to remind all of us to keep our dear friend, Joseph Lee, in our prayers. Please see the News section of our student council page for specific updates.

As the news of his returning cancer becomes "familiar," we can tend to lose ground in the battle of prayer. Let us be encouraged by the words of the prophet Isaiah in chapter 40:

28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

As an English teacher, I pay careful attention to the sentence structure in the Bible. Notice the important role of the coordinating conjunction "but" in verse 31? What a wonderful contrast it sets up!

Yes, Joe is currently tired and weary (perhaps you are, too). However, the Lord in His kindness makes a promise in verse 38 (to give STRENGTH to the weary). As we wait upon the Lord, placing our hope in Him, the results are truly amazing. (Reread verse 31).

Let's lift up our brother for renewed strength this week!

I love you all,
Mrs. P

Dear Joseph Lee,

Please know what a privilege it has been for me to lift you (and your family) up to the Lord in prayer. I have never stopped praising the Lord for your life and as I have watched Him pour out His goodness and faithfulness to you over the last few years, my faith has increased as well. May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you. May He cause His face to shine upon you. May you find His perfect peace and rest in the hour in which you need it.

All my love,

Ms. Yvette

And His greatness is unsearchable.

Joseph,
opse, sorry, I misread your front page and read "5 1/2" for your age instead of "15 1/2" so hear is a different picture for you, and a joke!!
A joke for you
One day an Eskimo decided to go fishing. He found some good ice, made a hole in it and sat down with his rod. After just a few minutes he heard a loud voice....

"THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE"

Frightened, he looked around but couldn't see anyone. After a while he decided he imagined it and carried on fishing.

"THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE"

This time, he was sure he hadn't imagined the voice at first, and spent several minutes looking around for someone, but there was no one to be seen. So he sat back down, picked up his rod, and carried on fishing.

"FOR THE LAST TIME THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE"

By now he was getting really scared. He DEFINATELY hadn't imagined that voice, it was loud, it was clear, it was shouting at HIM. He looked up and timidly asked "i..i.i..i..is that G... G... G... God?"

"NO" said the voice "IT'S THE ICE RINK MANAGER

A PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS

God Give Us eyes this Christmas
To see the Christmas Star.
And give us ears to hear the song
of angels from afar

And, with our eyes and ears attuned
for a message from above,
Let "Christmas Angels" speak to us
of hope and faith and love

Hope to light our pathway
When the way ahead is dark,
Hope to sing through stormy days,
with the sweetness of the lark

Faith to trust in things unseen
and know beyond all seeing
That it is in our Fathers love
We live and have our being

And love to break down barriers
of color, race and creed,
Love to see and understand
and help all those in need.

Lord, bless those we love this Christmas Day,be they near or far away Bless those good friends who mean so much and those with whom we're out of touch. We bring them all to You in prayer, and ask You to keep them in Your care.

Please know that you are thought of, in a very special way, not just this beautiful season but every day.

Hiya, just saying a hello, I have a few jokes for you today, this time about bears

Q: What do you get if you cross a skunk with a bear?
A: Winnie the Pooh!

Q: Why do bears have fur coats?
A: Because they'd look stupid in anoraks!

Lots of love and big…

Joseph,
How is the driving going? Have you run anybody off the road? Yet?? Maybe it won't happen. One thing is for sure-the time spent driving is inversely proportional to the number of cars you do run off the road! Something that mom and dad probably enforce.
I'm glad that you have done so well in your fight to get that awful disease out of your body. The love of God will sustain you in difficult times. Keep lookin' up!

Hi,
Hope that Joseph is still doing great. I think I read that you all homeschool. We do too. We go to First Baptist Church in Hendersonville. My son Jason is 18. We found out in February that he has alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma stage 4. The primary tumor is in his left foot and the cancer is also in his bone marrow. He has responded well to chemotherapy so far. He gets VAC vincristine-actinomycin-cytoxan and will finish radiation to his foot in 8 days. Did Joseph have it in his bone marrow?

Congratulations and Happy Birthday,

I'm a bit late for the birthday celebration but timely for the scans. We stand in agreement with you that the Lord's report are for clear scans and continued reports of remission and healing.

Our Lord is the great physician and healer; I believe what he's done for us and know he'll do it for you too! God is good and greatly to be praised.

Expect his report to be backed up by the doctors and post when you can.

With much love and prayer.

Hello Joeseph,

I'm just checking in to see what you're up to. We follow many kids and count you a blessing of the Lord. Rhabdo survivors are on the rise and you're part of that army.

I pray the Lord will continue to bless and restore your life and that of your family. I believe that God is a God of order and when he heals he also restores, all that the locust, palmerworm and cankerworm have destroyed.

May 2004 be a year of restoration for you; great health, great strength and great joy. We just keep praising him for all he does.

In Christ, James

Joseph, I thank and praise the Lord God for the privilege and the opportunity to pray for someone as special as you. Someone, that is special first, to the Lord, but also to the family of almighty God. This is clearly exampled by so many loving and prayerful guestbook entries made by your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Your victory is a true example of what the power of Christ can do when it dwells in you! My older brother now suffers from cancer. I hope and pray that your victory in Christ is a witness and testimony to him.

Joseph, the Owens family will keep you and your family lifted high in prayer to the Lord of Glory!

Joseph,

Your picture is on our refrigerator door....and unfortunately, I open it a little too often :). But, the good thing is that I am constantly reminded of God's sustaining power every time I see it. Rest in Him, for that is where there is peace. Love to you and your precious family!

The discovery of relatives on my mother's side heretofore unknown to me until after her passing has been one of both joy and sorrow. As you believe, Joseph, I believe that God in His goodness is with you. May the power of his love comfort you and heal you. Your cousin, Peter

Joseph Lee,
Please hear my heart when I tell you that you are such a delightful young man. It has been such a pleasure to see you grow up, son. You have unexpectedly found a place in my heart and you continue to bless me in ways you are probably unaware. I count it a privilege to lift you and your family up to the Lord in prayer. I marvel at how He has kept you these many months. Please know that I, too, am trusting God for your complete healing.

Hi Joseph---As your aunt, I love you with all my heart. As a Christian, I admire the way you walk in Jesus' way and draw strength from the Spirit of God within you. You are a great teacher. You are a young man who really knows how to get the Joy out of life.
Now Joseph, we have a putt putt game to play next time I come to visit. I've had a couple of practice games so I will be ready! See you then!

Joseph, you are an inspiration and you are in my prayers daily. I work with your Aunt Bonita and I am so happy to know you and I feel your strength that god has given you. God bless you and your family. Soon we will all look back and share the story of this brave young man that god gave total healing and how this young man was and is an inspiration to everyone that has been blessed in meeting. My prayers are with you and your family and I myself am so blessed to know you.

Joseph,

One important thing that God has taught me lately was not to put any confidence in the flesh. I always related that scripture to "good" flesh, but He reminded me that He doesn't want me to put confidence in the "bad" flesh either - like behaviors such as slothfulness and others. He reminded me that he is "the God of ALL flesh" and my bad habits could not overcome the power of His spirit. Well Hallelujah! So, I know that He wants me to pass that on to you. Regardless of what doctors say or diagnose, He is the God of your flesh and wants you to put ALL of your confidence in Him. I pray with you that he will overcome us with His love regardless of our circumstances. I love you very much!
