Welcome to Andrew Font's webpage. It has been created to keep family and friends updated about Andrew's health. Please leave a message anytime. It really does help to know that there are so many of you who care about Andrew and are praying for him. Andrew's birthday is 10/1/85. He is 6'2" and loves sports, especially basketball. He also loves animals and just hanging out with his buddies. Andrew is naturally gifted with the pencil and over the years became an excellent artist. He has two older brothers, Jesse and Sean and a younger sister, Lauren.
Andrew was diagnosed on December 9, 2004 with stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma with the primary tumor in the paranasal/parameningeal, including the orbit. It had already spread to the bone marrow and there is a possible spot on his kidney and lung. Andrew was treated immediately with radiation and a chemo regiment of VAC. V-vincristine, A-actinomycin and C-cytoxan. He has been in and out of the hospital over the past few months for his chemo, tests, fever, dehydration and surgery. It's been a long hard road for him both physically and emotionally. The road is still long and winding but right now he is going forward. He is fighting the fight.
Thank you so much for your prayers and your words of encouragment. We can't do this alone. Thanks for stopping by.

Friday, September 11, 2009 6:03 PM CDT I know it's been a very long, long time since I've updated. Well, everything is wonderful here with Andrew. He is working full time and is living on his own, healthy and happy. What else can a mother want. Life is good post cancer in the Font family. God bless all of you who have prayed for Andrew. Peace, Love and Hope.
