SO happy to see John Michael! We've come a long way since we met in the hospital. I think Mary Evelyn was having her stem cells harvested that day and now both our kids are healthy and living their "new normal"! God has been so good, hasn't he!

So happy to check your site and see an updated posting with pictures!!!!! JM looks fantastic. So happy that your family is enjoying "normal" that the rest of us take for granted. John Michael, enjoy your senior year. You are entering a fun fantastic stage of your life and you deserve it more then anyone I know. Keep updating so we know how you are enjoying life.

How awesome it is to hear from you and see how great things are going for your family! I still have John Michael on my prayer list and will never forget those days. I still check on his page at least once a month to see if there's an update. I just can't break an old habit but today, I'm glad. I love on my boys so much more after keeping up with this CaringBridge page and I don't sweat the small stuff as much. I've kept up with a lot of kids over the past 4 or so years but John Michael is one that I'll always remember. I've always thought I had strong faith but reading your updates over the years and seeing how God healed John Michael has truly made my faith stronger. We can't put limits on God! You have a precious family and I thank you for opening your heart to us strangers over the years.

I can't believe how much Anna has grown. Wow. And she's going in jr high. I have 2 boys, 13 & 10, and it's amazing how fast they're growing up. God has worked thru you, and other families battling cancer, to open my eyes to what really matters. I don't ever want to be caught taking one minute for granted.

Praise God you're now getting to watch your kids grow up and not have to run back and forth to the hospital! I hope you all have a wonderful summer!

I don't think I've EVER left an entry, but I used to visit your CaringBridge site frequently. You popped into my head this evening as I was sitting at the computer and it was great to read that you are all doing well. I have a friend whose daughter is undergoing treatment for leukemia, so it is always inspiring to read about those on the other side of the battle. Blessings to your entire family in the new year!

Ohhh JM, I'm so proud of you! I know Mom writes the journal and that she may put a different spin on things than you would, if you were writing, but believe me, buddy, it takes lots of courage for you to go through that surgery and then to get yourself up out of that bed.

Know that prayers are going up here. Tell Anna Banana that if she's into ballet, she needs to come to BRENAU!

I'm expecting big things on the trip out west. You'll be amazed at the things that you will see. You'll also learn that you're very glad you live in Georgia, 'cause there's no place like home.

John Michael,
I ran into your parents yesterday as they were in the waiting area of the hospital. I know that the Lord was with you while you were in surgery, as well as now that you are out and recovering. The Lord said that He will never leave you nor forsake you!
Stay strong in your faith, and in the knowledge that you have such strong love from your Mom, Dad, sister, and Grand parents. With the love of the Lord and their love for you I know you will recover and be stronger than ever before.

God Bless you John Michael!

JM and family!
The countdown begins! Please know my prayers go before you as you prepare for surgery on Wed.

I was just talking about your awesome family on Sat! JM - I don't know if you remember...but...when I came to visit... I snagged your copy of "Purpose Driven Life" as I was leaving (by permission, of course :) I've been working through it over the past few weeks and God has really used the 'notes' that you had made in the book! I find myself stopping to give Him praise as I read - knowing that He is working in your life! NEVER, NEVER underestimate the knowledge and wisdom He has granted you at such a young age! You HAVE been through the fire - your body shows the scars....but...God's fingerprints are all over you! I thank God for walking with you - and for teaching me (an 'old' believer)lessons from your journey. Be encouraged my friend! God is 'using' you!

I am sending my prayers and love your way John Michael as you go through your surgery. You continue to be an inspiration to so many! Kim, it is great to hear that you are working with CURE. I remember the evening we met in the family room and you telling me that you look forward to the day that you were able to give back. Danny and I were there as volunteers with CURE. I understand that strong need to give back to families that are to follow in your footsteps! We always walked away from a volunteer moment receiving much more than we could have imagined giving to the families. Your family continues to amaze me as I watch God working in your lives. Wow.. love the new photos! JM.. you're turning into one exceptionally handsome young man, yowza! :)

I love seeing everything so normal.. Isn't it great when life is normal with nothing excedingly important to post about?

Blessings for a year filled with normality and family fun!

Love,
Heather

You can see it on her website(CaringBridge.Michaela) under photos! I am really excited because my birthday is in April!(yeah, yeah, i know that's in four months but I have to make my 10th birthday pefrect!) It's double digits so the party is going to be a High School Musical party! I'm inviting my freindds for a sleepover! It's going to be the bomb! Did yall know Hannah Montana, and the Jonas Brothers are coming to Jacksonville! I wanted to go but apparently my parents aren't interested in driving me to Jacksonville to see the best singer in the world and the cutest three boys ever! Too bad I have to pay 15$ to see them in the theaters! You can't really take I L0VE NICK, JOE, AND KEVIN! posters to the movies! Awkward! I guess that's enough for now, there's so much I wanna tell yall! Guess I'll have to wait till later!

Just a short note filled with a deep and abiding love for a family that has inspired and filled me with their faith, hope and joy.
The pictures are fabulous! Anna-girl, you get more beautiful with each passing year. Kim and Tim, you better send her to Brenau where I can watch over her.
JM, no more signs of a sick boy - just a young man who makes me very proud and to whom I feel like an auntie.
Kim, you've lost the worry and care lines and look fabulous!
Tim - the rock, the steadier, the backbone of the family - you always inspire.
Take care of yourselves and know that thoughts from North Georgia come often.

Love and hugs all 'round!

Kim, Fantastic news! Don't you just love normal MRIs??? Back to the eye doctor huh? Leah got hit in the head yesterday with a basketball and had the same reaction. Bad headache, blurred vision. (But it only lasts for a few minutes.) I'm thankful she's still telling me about it, since she knows I so worried. Her Neuro says time will tell. Have a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hey Anna Banana! I know you're going to be able to do this! Heck, you've already done harder things and have come through like a champ! Just know you have lots and lots of people praying for you, and God knows how to lead you through this with no worries! Know, too, if we could be there holding your hand, we would.

Dang BC/BS anyway! Why do they make it so hard to get good care?

Love ya lots - all of you! Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Hugs all 'round - and out of respect for you, since it's your day Anna, I won't say my usual ending!! (See how much you're loved!)

Dear Kim, Tim, JM and Anna - It fills me with such joy to see you all so happy! Dang, JM, you turned into a really handsome guy! A lot better pic than some we've seen of you.
Darlin' Anna, you look FABULOUS. Tim, you're gonna have to watch out for boyfriends - she's gonna have a whole bunch of them.
Kim, I love you, sweetie, for all you've shared with us all and for the love you have for your family and for the Lord. The pic of the kids with Izzy is wonderful! Thanks for sharing that especially.

Am always keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Let me know if you ever get up this way. Would love to see you in person! Your "boy" is growing up (hello, young MAN)! You better start practicing with the Auburn yell - it won't be long till you're using it! In case you've forgotten

Kim, God has certainly blessed you with the gift of writing!!! As I sat here reading all of this most recent update, I couldn't help but be amazed at how well you have been able to put into words an account of the very tough journey that your family took. I recall during the darkest times, you had the courage and wisdom to sit at the computer and write about John Michael. I am so glad that you did. I have kept in touch with your family through these postings. How very, very happy I am to see pictures of all of you doing "normal" things now. How great is the Lord and forever will we praise Him!! Thanks be to God for all of the blessings and answers to prays throughout this ordeal with JM. He will continue to bless you and your family and I know that He is working through you to help others. God bless all of you!
