II Corinthians 12:8-10 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. I Corinthians 15:54-57 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1. I fall asleep in Jesus' wounds,
There pardon for my sins abounds;
Yea, Jesus' blood and righteousness
My jewels are, my glorious dress.

2. With peace and joy I now depart;

A brand new year stands before us. Sometimes a new year is very hard to face. Other times a new year is welcomed with open arms, with hopes that it will be better than the last one was. However you look at it, know that every day of this new year is in the Lord's Hands. He's already there waiting for you with open arms. And I'm here praying as always.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. It's Sunday and once again we read an amazing passage at church. Going to share the first few verses because they really hit home. Praying right now!
Psalms 86:1-7 Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.

Psalms 34:6-10 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. Barbie, I continue to think of you all the time...my heart breaks for you....I have read every entry you've written since 2003. I can not express how much admiration I have for you. I admire your courage, your strength, your determination, dedication and unselfishness. In your entries you always referred to Dustin as a little soldier -and that he was. What a fighter he was...and I know he got that attribute from you. I'm certain he knew what a special mother he had. I did not realize until reading several entries of how much pain and suffering Dustin went through and for so long - I don't think I will ever understand or accept an answer to why this happened to him, or to any precious child, at that. I pray that peace will come to you ... I wish more than anything I could do something to help ease your pain....

The Brave Little Soul
by John Alessi

Not too long ago in Heaven there was a little soul who took wonder in observing the world. He especially enjoyed the love he saw there and often expressed this joy with God. One day however the little soul was sad, for on this day he saw suffering in the world. He approached God and sadly asked, “Why do bad things happen; why is there suffering in the world?”

God paused for a moment and replied, "Little soul, do not be sad, for the suffering you see, unlocks the love in people’s hearts.” The little soul was confused. “What do you mean,” he asked.” God replied, “Have you not noticed the goodness and love that is the offspring of that suffering? Look at how people come together, drop their differences and show their love and compassion for those who suffer. All their other motivations disappear and they become motivated by love alone.”

The little soul began to understand and listened attentively as God continued, “The suffering soul unlocks the love in people’s hearts much like the sun and the rain unlock the flower within the seed. I created everyone with endless love in their heart, but unfortunately most people keep it locked up and hardly share it with anyone. They are afraid to let their love shine freely, because they are afraid of being hurt. But a suffering soul unlocks that love. I tell you this - it is the greatest miracle of all. Many souls have bravely chosen to go into the world and suffer - to unlock this love – to create this miracle - for the good of all humanity."

Just then the little soul got a wonderful idea and could hardly contain himself. With his wings fluttering, bouncing up and down, the little soul excitedly replied, "I am brave; let me go! I would like to go into the world and suffer so that I can unlock the goodness and love in people’s hearts! I want to create that miracle!"

God smiled and said, "You are a brave soul I know, and thus I will grant your request. But even though you are very brave you will not be able to do this alone. I have known since the beginning of time that you would ask for this and so I have carefully selected many souls to care for you on your journey. Those souls will help you create your miracle; however they will also share in your suffering. Two of these souls are most special and will care for you, help you and suffer along with you, far beyond the others. They have already chosen a name for you.”

God and the brave little soul shared a smile, and then embraced. In parting, God said, “Do not forget little soul that I will be with you always. Although you have agreed to bear the pain, you will do so through my strength. And if the time should come when you feel that you have suffered enough, just say the word, think the thought, and you will be healed.”

Thus at that moment the brave little soul was born into the world, and through his suffering and God’s strength, he unlocked the goodness and love in people’s hearts. For so many people dropped their differences and came together to show their love. Priorities became properly aligned. People gave from their hearts. Those that were always too busy found time. Many began new spiritual journeys – some regained lost faith – many came back to God. Parents hugged their children tighter. Friends and family grew closer. Old friends got together and new friendships were made. Distant family reunited, and every family spent more time together. Everyone prayed. Peace and love reigned. Lives changed forever. It was good. The world was a better place. The miracle had happened. God was pleased.

This is the second half of the hymn "Abide with Me." The words are so comforting. Know that I'm still here praying!

5. Thou on my head in every youth didst smile,
And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee.
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.

6. I need Thy presence every passing hour;
What but Thy grace can foil the Tempter's power?
Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, oh, abide with me!

7. I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still if Thou abide with me.

8. Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes,
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!

Hymns have been going through my head all day for some reason. This one is long so I'm only doing the first half but oh it's special. Continuing to pray so very hard!

1. Abide with me! Fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me!

2. Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see.
O Thou, who changest not, abide with me!

3. Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word,
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.

4. Come not in terror, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings;
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.

I am the Dad of AJ, a 14 year old cancer victim. I wanted to make you aware (maybe again) and enlist your help for the Cure Childhood Cancer petition! The GREAT news is that CureSearch, LIVESTRONG and Alex’s Lemonade Stands have ALL written about the Petition on their websites! And TX Children’s and DUKE have both allowed us to setup paper versions inside the hospitals! WE ARE MAKING HEADWAY and are at over 11,000 signatures! But we need your help again. If you can please make your readers aware, email it around again, and give just a little publicity, I think we can make this happen!

Thanks again,
AJs Dad

There is hope in the Lord! Praying right now!
Psalms 16:7-9 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Trust the Lord and His Will. Know that I'm praying!
Psalms 5:11-12 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

The Lord will be with you always! I'll be here praying!
Psalms 23:4-6 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Dear Barbara my heart goes out to you for all the pain that you are going through. Amber and I both cried when we heard the news. Dustin and Scotty were the two kids that she knew best and learned that she could have fun while in the hospital. She watched Dustin going around the halls pushing his pole and if he could do it so could she. I know there are no words that can ease your pain. Time will help you heal and your faith will be a confort to you, knowing that some day you will see him again. Lean on your friends and accept their love, God has put us in your life for a reason. I only knew you and Dustin for a short while but I feel very blessed to have know you both. My love and thoughts go out to you and I will keep you in my prayers. If there is any thing I can do Please just let me know. Alice

Dear Barbara,

My heart breaks for you right now. Words are difficult for me too. So I thought, what about a song. Here's a song that's helped me out...

The name of the band is "Mercyme". If you aren't familiar with them, they're a Christian band. Just to let you know, i'll send you the video to your e-mail too. I'm having problems with my "e-mail program" right now. When I get it fixed, i'll send you a message to let you know it's working. Here are the lyrics for the song "Homesick"...

"Homesick" By: Mercyme
________________________

Your in a better place, i've heard a thousand times.
And at least a thousand times, i've rejoiced for you.
But the reason why i'm broken, the reason why I cry is how long must I wait to be with you.

I close my eyes and I see your face
if home's where my heart is, then i'm out of place
Lord want you give me strength to make it through somehow? I've never been more homesick than now.

Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways. The reason why I wonder if i'll ever know.
But even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same, cause i'm still here so far away from home.

I close my eyes and I see your face
if home's where my heart is, then i'm out of place.
Lord want you give me strength to make it through somehow?
I've never been more homesick than now.

In Christ, there are no goodbyes
In Christ, there is no end
So i'll hold on to Jesus with all that I have to see you again, to see you again!

And I close my eyes and I see your face
if home's where my heart is then i'm out of place.
Lord want you give me strength to make it through somehow?
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow?
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow?

I've never been more homesick than now.

Take care Barbara & please know that you & Bryan are in my thoughts & prayers too. Now & in the days ahead...

Know that I'm here praying! And saying extra prayers for your family as you said your final good-byes today.
Psalms 34:17-19 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Dear Barbara, Michael and Bryan.
Where are the words to comfort you. We are so happy to know that Dustin has been forever cured of all afflictions. We rejoice in his appointed seat next to Jesus. He has always been a vey special young man. I know he had a God appointed mission that he has now completed. He touched many more lives that we will ever know. You had lots of great minutes in a few years and can have an eternity later. He is not lost. He won this battle because God is on our side. Please let people care for you. You are exhausted and now it is time to rest in the Lord. He has sent people to care for you, please let us.

Dear Barbara, I just heard about Dustin. I pray that comfort will ease your heart and fill it with the most special memories of such a special little boy whose courage touched so many. I know in my heart that Dustin is now free of pain and playing with the other little angels in Heaven. You are both an inspiration to many and you have taught me personally to keep Hope alive. Although I can not make it to his service, he consumes my thoughts and prayers at this time, and so do you. We are all so sorry to hear about Dustin. He was such a great kid. Kyle is gonna miss playing with him so much. He always looked forward to it. He would cancel any plans he had to come play with him. It was so hard to tell Kyle he had passed away. He is very sad but knows he isn't hurting anymore and that helps a little. I just can't believe I'm not gonna get to pick on him anymore. He always had a comeback no matter what. He was always in such good spirits no matter how bad things were. I just hate it for you guys. I hope Bryan is gonna be ok. I lost my little brother a few years ago and it is not easy. I'm not good with these things but I just wanted you to know we were thinking about you guys and we are very saddened.

If you ever need time and a place to stay for a while call me as I would be happy for you to come and stay with us any time? He will be missed terribly by us here and all of his money making job's. You have been such a terrific mom to that little boy and you both fought hard. I wish that things were not this way but I guess he was getting really tired. Please keep in touch with me as I want to know how you are as I miss you and love you guy's. I will still hear him singing that song of myself and Dr. Gebheart. He always had a grin on his face when he sang that song the little turkey. Him and Scottie got a kick out of singing it. Let me know when the arrangments are as I would like to do something. Barbara and family, we are deeply saddened for each of you. Dustin was a true fighter to put up with all the treatments given to try to conquer this disease. We got to see him every year at the Jone's home, and it was fun to watch him play and swim, and show his cute grin. I don't think any of us will ever forget that grin of his. He will be missed by a lot of friends. We appreciated all the pictures posted of him on this site, particularly the ones showing his love of the military. Barbara, you put forth a huge, incredible effort for Dustin. God bless. Thinking of all of you, Gary and Cheryl

I learned about Dustin and his brave fight several months ago from reading Katie Krize's page. Dustin is such a doll and I'm glad he and Katie got to see each other again in Vermont. No doubt they enjoyed the visit.

I am always amazed at how each of us can be touched so deeply by others we have never met. I have been touched by the struggle of your family and the example of love that never gives up. My heart goes out to you as you go through this time. Please know there are many people that you do know who hold you in their hearts and pray for you and Dustin.

Barbara, we're so saddened & sorry to learn of Dustin's passing. We were just talking about you both earlier this week, remembering Dustin's beautiful first snowman this past winter in VT. It, and you both, brought us many smiles as we waited to welcome our twin girls. Sadly, Jessica has gone to Heaven to be with Lauren, but we can sleep more soundly knowing they're well protected by a superb new soldier in the Angelic Brigade. We'll treasure our memories of him always.

We sang this hymn in church this morning and I wanted to share it. Am still here praying!
"My Hope is Built on Nothing Less"
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874

1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

3. His oath, His covenant, and blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Psalms 130:1-8 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

At 10:00, they turned off all of the lights at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds and then lit the luminaria's to light up the names. It was Awesome!. I took a picture of yours. As people were walking by, they were reading the names. 2 girls said they knew you from school last year. Popular guy! Tell your mom to email me her cell phone number and I will send her the picture that I took of it (it is on my cell phone). I hope you had a great day.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

This passage always amazes me. Knowing that the Holy Ghost Himself is praying!
Romans 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

"I Know that My Redeemer Lives"
by Samuel Medley, 1738-1799

1. I know that my Redeemer lives;
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever-living Head.

2. He lives triumphant from the grave,
He lives eternally to save,
He lives all-glorious in the sky,
He lives exalted there on high.

3. He lives to bless me with His love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed,
He lives to help in time of need.

4. He lives to grant me rich supply,
He lives to guide me with His eye,
He lives to comfort me when faint,
He lives to hear my soul's complaint.

5. He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.

6. He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly Friend,
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while He lives, I'll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.

7. He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death:
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He Iives to bring me safely there.

8. He lives, all glory to His name!
He lives, my Jesus, still the same.
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives,
"I know that my Redeemer lives!"

Vivit! He lives! Saying extra prayers on this special day.
Luke 24:44-47 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

When I was thinking about today this hymn came to mind immediately so I wanted to share it. Know that I'm praying!
1. There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel's veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains.

2. The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there have I, as vile as he,
Washed all my sins away.

3. Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power
Till all the ransomed Church of God
Be saved to sin no more.

4. E'er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die.

5. When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song
I'll sing Thy power to save.

Sorry I've been away from the computer for a few days. Still been praying but wanted to share such special verses that remind us all that much more importantly the Holy Spirit Himself is praying for each of us perfectly according to His Will.
Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
