My name is Robin, I'm a friend of your moms. I read your journey and you are one tough young man. In every picture I saw of you, you continued to have a beautiful smile. There are adults that could not have gone through what you went through. You are a survivor and very blessed. Now reach high for the stars and grab them..The sky is your limit. My best to you. Robin

WOW Josh I just met you at Church last week and had no idea that you have been through so much. You are a walking miracle and it is an honor for me to know you. I think when God sees us through something life threatening we have a very real knowledge of who He is. From the pictures in the album it appears that you enjoy all the typical boy stuff fishing, fishing, and more fishing. Oh and the Dog! She is a sweetheart and now I know why. She learned to be compassionate from you. God has great plans for you. Keep smilling! Jeramiah 29:11 Melvia Kingen P.S. I'm your Mom's newest riding buddy...

I was about to add my Josh to the cancerkids.org website when I came across your son. My son, Josh, was diagnosed about one month ago with embryonal rhabdo in his left eye. He turned 6 months old on Monday. I know that because of his age, we are dealing with a completely different monster, but it was uplifting to see how well your Josh is doing. Thanks for the website.

Hi Josh This is Wendy's sister, Evelyn...Happy to hear that you are doing great. By the way, you look so handsome in the photo. It's great to see that you are coming along well with the Grace of God....I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way. His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when you give Him all your cares you know He will see you though. So when the road you're traveling on seems difficult at best...Just remember I'm here praying and God will do the rest. Trust in the Lord God always and He shall see you through big time. Good luck in school and my best wishes to you always. Take care and May the Lord watch over you today, tomorrow and always!!! God bless you. Love Evelyn

Hi there! My son Logan is 15 months old and has been battling Rhabdo since he was 9 months old. We are on week 21 of the 42 week treatment (half way there!). His tumor was in his shoulder and was removed in November. He had 23 radiation treatments during January and now we're back to the chemo routine. It's so great to hear that you're done with treatment. I hope you go out and celebrate. Please stop by Logan's website: caringbridge.com/il/logan

Hi Josh I thought I should stop by to say hi. I'm the mom of a boy who also was diaganosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. His was the Alveolar type and it was found very late stage 4. He went through alot,8 rounds of high dose chemo, radiation, surgery, stem cell harvests(17 of them)that each took 6-8 hours and then more chemo and onto the first stemcell transplant with more radiation and then a 6 week break and more chem, then the second transplant and more radiation. Finally finished and guess what, that was 6 years ago since this all started. This year we finally heard the miraculous words, Peter you are 100% CURED. In the beginning they gave Peter very little hope but thats all Peter,then10, had to hear, he loves a challenge. He beat it and is now a junior in H.S., driving and wants to be a chef someday. Congratulations on nearing the end of your treatment and may God Bless you and keep you close to Him. Peter has a web page at www.caringbridge.org/il/peterpartaker stop by to learn more about Peter's fight for life and keep up the good work Josh you are amazing and these are words from one who knows.

Hi Josh, the ant lions we call curly bugs. You should keep a journal of all the neat things you dig up in the ground. I just discovered a hord of big fat worms, night crawlers I believe. I have a small backyard in my apartment, but it does attract a lot of wildlife. millepeds, curly bugs, crickets, ants, occassional termite, squirrels, possums, cats and raccoons. And I live in the middle of the city. There is a lot to see, if we just take the time to see it.
Well, bye for now got to go and see what the kittens are up to I just heard a crash in the master bedroom!

Hi JOSH How are you these days? With the grace of the Lord, I prayed everyday for you. You shall never give up for your sake and your family, especially for your mom. She is a very special person and best friend for you right now.

Always remember, when things get tough...Faith doesn't get you around trouble, it gets you through it.

God still sits on the throne. Each of you is going through a tough time right now but God is getting ready to bless you and your family in a way that only He can. Keep the faith. Father, I ask that you blessed my friends JOSH and his family reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, released a renewed confidence through your grace. Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings. In Jesus precious name.

If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it. Lord I love JOSH and he needs you. Be with him, today, tomorrow and alway!!! For without you, He can do nothing.

God bless you JOSH. Love Evelyn and Frances (Wendy's sister and your mom's friend).

Haha. I am a 30 year old mom of 3 and I have green hair. I am going to dye it purple or pink here soon. I think that is what hair is for isn't it? To be creative?
I am thrilled to 'hear' that he is in the clear. That is wonderful!

See??!! I told you Josh's hair would come back in a different colour. Of course, I thought it would be a normal HUMAN shade, but neon is fine, too.

Hooray for the great counts and the clear scan. It must be the doughnuts. Or it could be all of you all working together to get through this.

I see the Lawson family has weathered the summer by several of your notes. I have regularly looked to see how the firecracker popping ,4 wheeling boys , fishermen,Lets shop were doing .
I also played noisy and looked up Josh's teacher for this year. The team is very talented and your homeroom teacher does fun art when time allows in the schedule.
The other teacher is a soft spoken BUCS fan.
Have some fun on the last few days off .Teachers are already hard at work.

My son Ty was DX. in March 02,at age 7, with paratesticular Botryoid Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. After 5 surgeries and a year of chemo. he is in remission as of March 03. I do have to laugh at some of your journal entries, they remind me of our story. Ty always ate the weirdest concoctions after his chemo. And of course I always informed the parents what not to give your kid when you knew it would be coming back up. I always rated it on what made be retch along with Ty vomiting. We always found laughter to be the best medicine of all. Of course some of the humor can not be shared by those who are not a cancer family. We send prayers and Hope's of miracles!!

We cannot tell what may happen to us in the
strange medley of life. But we can decide
what happens in us-how we take it,
what we do with it-and that is what really
counts in the end. How to take the raw stuff
of life and make it a thing of worth and
beauty-that is the test of living. -Joseph Fort Newton

Hi Josh! It is inspiring to see your photos and read your journal to see how you're doing. Your Mom helped us with our daughter (she has Rhabdo in her right eye, too) over the last month. Sierra, 7, was just diagnosed in May. We are glad you are done with Radiation. Sierra has just 10 more days. Because of your website, and your mom's e-mails, we weren't as scared of chemo and radiation. Thanks for being an inspiration. We think about you often and check your website. Keep up your good spirits and spreading your smile around. The new computer looks like a lot of fun!

Hi Lawson Family, I am one of Tyler's teachers at Tomlin and wanted to check on how things were going. Hang in there, it is a very long battle but it is worth every minute of not feeling good in the end. I was there a few years ago, 8 month of chemo and 3 months of radiation. When the hair comes back it is very soft and curly!! Believe me it hurts the nurses just as much as you when they have to poke you with those needles. Do you have a port, Josh? You have a great big brother, Tyler who really loves you and is very proud of you so hang in there. Mom & Dad you are wonderful and will be in my prayers each day if there is anything that I can do please don't hesitate to ask. Hey fella, thought I would poke my head in and see how you're doing. Good too see you last week, you still own me a big hug butt head. I'm not going to let you forget it either. The ball cap looks good on you, little loose. Keep eating, but don't get fat like me, or your mother won't be too happy. I'm going to have to take you, Ty and your daddy fishing one night at the skyway (boys night out) sense you need to stay out of the sun for now. Big fish out there I'll tell you. Got a five foot shark out there last week. Stayed in the front of the boat until it quit flopping around in the back. I want to keep my toes where God put them, on my feet! You would have a blast out there. So keep eating, I don't want to have to tie you to the boat, we don't want some little minnow pulling you in do we? Hang in there fella, see you soon.

HI Joshua. You know, I don't like needles either. In fact, we actually hate each other. However, I have had to face the little boogers, and so do you. I think about you every day and hope that you (and Dad, Mom, and Tyler) are keeping your chin up. We are praying for your complete recovery. God is the great physician. Take care, Love, Aunt Peg

Hello Josh,

Once again someone you don't know, but I also visit the same bassboat page your Dad does. Glad to hear they caught the cancer in time and I know everthing will be alright. I live in Lakeland, right next door to Plant City. My bassboat is what they call a cross over and works well in the saltwater too, so when your better if you and your Dad would like, we could go to Cockroach bay which is part of Tampa bay and try and catch some redfish or trout or snook or, well the list goes on.

Just glad to hear everything is getting better and you are in our prayers.

Hi Josh, My name is Bj, I live in Canada and no I don't live in an igloo. Igloos melt everytime I turn the microwave on.
I visit the same bassboat website as your dad (my boat is nicer than his though, but don't tell him I said that)
I just wanted to wish you all the luck in the world. I'll be thinking about you and I'll be checking on your progress. I hope you get well quick because you don't want to eat too much of that yucky hospital food! hahaha
Take Care Son and say hi to the cute nuses for me! And remember, keep your chin up!!!

Josh,I work with your Aunt Zell Tucker at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park. My 17 year old daughter had surgery for Cervical Cancer on March 25, 2003. They were able to remove all of her cancer too. She will not have to under go any of the treatments you will but will have to have 3month check ups for a couple of years, then 6 month check ups for a couple more. I know how hard this is but God will see you and your family through. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Josh! Another note for you from a complete stranger :) My name is Amy and I'm a friend of Shawn and Lisa Trexler. I am SOOOOO glad to hear you're doing better. I know your mom has been really worried about you and so has Lisa. But now that you're doing so well they'll have to calm down and worry about something else! I know you'll continue to get better and stronger until someday you can lift your doctor onto your shoulders and run around with him up there to tell him how cool he is for making you better :)

Josh has a web page! How wild is that?

Hey, little guy. We've been thinking about you up here. We're all worried and then we find out that you are not only at home, you're back in school! If you feel that good, it's time for you to go out and get a job, mister man.

Well, if your mom swears you were sick, I'll believe her. We're still going to be keeping an eye on you, though...

Let us know if you want us to come down for a visit. For YOU we'll make the awful drive.

Love you and Ty. Big hugs from Shawn and Lisa!
