Hi Zipters,
I'm thinking about Brittany today.
I too have been diagnosed with cancer, as of 2 months ago. I've had a wonderful career teaching for 40 years.... and could live another few months or for another 20 years.
Either way, I have no complaints and have enjoyed the past nearly 6 years of retirement.
Brittany was an inspiration to all of us.

A couple of more years have gone by. I just pulled up Brittany's site to see how things have changed. The entries seem to be fewer....but that is the way the passage of time affects us all. I hope all the Zipters are doing ok. I'm finishing up my 3rd year of retirement and am enjoying it very much.

Just remembering Brittany. Tomorrow I have to give a speech to a group about teaching and I'll be talking about Brittany and other kids I've had over the years. I've been retired now for a year and a half....and am enjoying the relaxing way of life.

Just letting you know that I taught my class today about Brittany and her plight. The kids saw her picture on my corkboard and were curious.
Brittany continues to leave her legacy.
I think this will be my final year teaching. 40 years and I am starting to get a bit worn out.

I think so often about Anna and when I do I think about all the other grieving parents I know and lift us all in prayer. We so need our Lord's comfort, peace and encouragement. I pray you are held closely in His arms on the eve of Brittany's Homegoing anniversary.

Hi Zipter Family,
I am getting ready to start my 39th year of teaching...and I thought today, about Brittany and all of you.
After 14 years at Claywell I have decided to transfer to Lutz Elem to finish out my career...maybe another 4 years. One of the most poignant memories I have are the few months that Brittany was in my class. She was so sweet and lovely and my heart went out to her. My wife was also very involved and Brittany had an impact on both of us. I still keep pictures of her in my room...with the President, and also with the class. I know you probably still have the quilt that the kids made for her. Each year kids ask about her, and I tell them a little about her life and her plight. I believe that what I tell them helps instill some extra humanity and compassion for their fellow humans. Brittany lives on in all of us. And...after all is said and done...what more could anyone ask for? I hope your family are all well and happy.

Living in this house there is not a day that goes by that i don't go outside and pause for a second and miss everyone so terribly. I think about all of you all of the time and i hope you all are well. I was at Northdale park today and sat on Brittany's bench and i can't say it didn't tear me up inside. But it made me think of you all and i pray that God is blessing your family in the way that you deserve. I don't know if we ever told you, but Desi and i donated our hair in her honor, just so that we may help put the same smile that we saw Brittany have when she came home with her hair. we love you all so much!!

I know that I don't know you, but I have been visiting your website. My cousin is terminally ill...she's just now turned 17 (the oldest with her disease) and it's hard to live in the never knowing.
