Welcome to Antti's Web Page. Antti is 9 years old boy, who has been treated for pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma (stage III). Tumor injured Antti's spinal cord and paralyzed him down from his hip. Antti had his last hospital treatments on december 2004, and now goes to controls once a year.

Antti lives in Oulu, Finland with his little sister Anna. Mom and dad have separated, and the kids have two homes.

Tervetuloa Antin omille sivuille! Antti on 9-vuotias reipas nuori mies, jolla todettiin lasten hermokudoskasvain eli neuroblastooma (stage III) yhden vuoden ikäisenä. Kasvain vaurioitti Antin selkäydintä niin että poika on lantiosta alaspäin halvaantunut. Syöpähoidot lopetettiin 11/2004 ja nykyään käydään sairaalalla kontrolleissa vuoden välein.
Antti asustelee Oulussa Anna-siskon kanssa, välillä äidin, välillä isän luona.

Antti aloitti kolmannen luokan eilen. Poika on kasvanut kovasti ja äidin selkä alkaakin olla kovilla silloin kun pitää nostella. Onneksi pituuskasvu on tuonnut mukanaan myös voimien kasvua ja hauikset onkin melkoiset. Antti oppii viikko viikolta lisää asioita, joita voi tehdä ilman aikuisen apua. Oikeanlaiset apuvälineetkin auttavat tietysti asiaa. Keväällä äidin Mondeoon asennettiin kääntyvä etupenkki, jonka ansiosta Antti pääse pyörätuolista autoon ihan itse.

Antti harrastaa jo kolmatta vuotta uintia Oulun Lohissa ja onkin melkoinen Veli Kala. Parempi uimari kuin äitinsä! Kesällä Antti on myös käynnyt ratsastusterapiassa, pyöräillyt käsin veivattavalla pyörällään, ja hoitanut puutarhaa ja uistellut Etelä-Karjalassa. Nyt syksyn tullen kesäharrastusten tilalle taitaa taas tulla Pokémon-korttipeli, Aapelin nettipelit ja muut sisäpuuhat.

Antti went to 3td grade this autumn. He has grown up to quite a big boy, and mum has difficulties to lift him now days. Luckily also his strenght has grown, and he has learned new ways to do things by himself, without help, like moving from wheelchair in to mums car.

Antti has been been a member of local swimming team for 3 years now, and is quite a fish. He is far better swimmer than his mom. He likes also bicycling and riding a horse. During the summerholiday he enjoyed also fishing and gardening, but now that autumn is here, he must change back to indoor hobbies like Pokémon Trading Card Game and internet games.
