Hi JinHo,

I just now found out you're gone. I'd heard in a roundabout way about this site, and I'd come here to post a message, hoping you'd see it. Now, I'm blinking back tears and am not sure what to say.

I didn't know you very well, but when I met you at Idyllwild, I met a lively, enthusiastic, really interesting guy who seemed a good friend to those around him. It's hard to believe that that person has passed on. In my memory, you will always be as you were then; everyone who knew you will carry such remembrances (and more) with them. That's what makes one immortal, leaving a legacy. Reading the posts on this site, it's clear that your legacy is huge.

I send you love and hope you are at peace, resting somewhere wonderful.

To my dear friend, son, fellow musician and mentor Jin, my friend who stayed up even later than me, watching old movies, listening to music, and of course eating; you are with me always in my heart and the halls of our home, which was yours last summer and will forever be yours. Our home will always be graced with the beauty of your laughter and the music from your heart that you expressed with your violin. My heart is sad and glad at the same time...most difficult to comprehend. I thank you for making my life immensely fuller. Your "Calabafaf" dad, Brad.

Dear sweet Jin,

You were courageous. You were strong. You were humble, kind, generous, warm, caring, inspiring, and wise beyond your years.

My heart weeps, but is also filled with joy to know that your spirit is and will always be smiling upon us. You left us at such a tender young age, but impacted so many lives with your short stay here on earth.

Your love and passion for music and life will carry on with those who follow in your footsteps.

Thank you for sharing your life and music with me! ...in my heart always...

Hey! It's Doug in Idyllwild. You know it's been exactly one year since I saw you. It's graduation day here. Remember last year when you showed up here to visit and they plunked you down in the orchestra and made you play?? Wish you were here today. Sam Gamgee from the Lord of the Rings is giving the commencement speech. Well, not the fictional character, but the actor who plays him... Anyway, we'll be thinking about you!

Dear Jin,
My 8-year old Vivaldi-loving son and I thoroughly enjoyed the benefit concert given by your friends. You are obviously a generous soul well-loved by those you've touched. My folks just returned from Seoul--I would have asked them to look in on you had I known about your struggles. The music gifted by your friends elevated and united the community; I've distributed the program from their performance to those I know in hopes of surrounding you with more well-wishers and support. Peace be with you.

Master Jin,

Once, when Graham was young, maybe seven, I told him that I always looked for teachers in my life, and that I was certain he was and would always be my teacher.

Even though we have not spent a great amount of time together, I feel the same about you. You are wise and kind beyond your years, a loving gifted old soul.

And, as with Graham, you will always be with me as a model of humility, gentleness and extraordinary wisdom.

With love,

Marshall

Hi, Jin. This is Jeanne Tucker, Josh's mom. We met two years ago for the first time outside of Crawford Hall. I so enjoyed talking to you that summer and all the times after that. Your performance of the Bach as you walked down the aisle that year will never leave me. It was hard saying good-bye to you in December. I have been working with Jean Moser and Sarah Johnson and your frinds on this benefit concert. It was a stunning performance! Wish you had been there. They talked about you that day on the radio and three TV stations!! Please get well soon so you can come back and play with me and my harpsichord....and of course, you have to get well, too, so you can read that huge volume of Lord of the Rings that I gave you!
We're all sending you our love and our strength.

Hey Jin,
I am coming to this homepage daily to see how u are!! Please read it and rememebr it!

when we are alone...we should remember...that there are billions of other people to meet...

when we are bored...we should remember...that there is a world outside the door to be explored...

when you have no one to talk to...we should remember...that there are millions of voices to be heard and millions of words to be spoken...

when it seems the clock isn't ticking and life is on hold...than we should remember that...there are author's who are and have written books to be read...so read those books and notice their stories move your life...

when the good things in life doesn't seem to come and the bad things keep showing...than we should remember...how to get the good things ourselves and how to fight the bad...

you see, our life is like a book, a story...we being the characters, we being the author's...the world being our table and our setting of place...so when we spend our time doing nothing but to sit and breath the air around us...than you would be letting the ink of our pen of life run dry, we would be letting the pages of our book of life be empty...

this poem is to remember to move our pens of life, and to fill our pages to the very edge of the sheet...

Write your own story. dont let anyone tell u what you can do and what you cannot!!!

Lots of love!! I am with you!!

Hi, Jin. Just wanted to tell you what a wonderful concert your friends gave tonight. The groups got several standing ovations. John and Julie performed several pieces - one which Johnnie wrote for you. THere were 156 people and many gave to help with your bills. We won't know how much was given for a few weeks. Many parents at the school of the arts are sending money.

We are making a DVD of the concert so that you can see and hear what went on. I love you.

Hey, Jin. its Wednesday evening and we're getting ready to go to the concert. The TV station did a story about you and your friends, and the radio station did one yesterday. Soon you'll be able to see them on the web. Paul Blimling and Danny Adams have been staying here and I have so enjoyed having live music coming from upstairs.

All your friends at NCSA are so excited to be doing this concert. They really miss you. Love, Jean

Hi,Jin, its Jean. Its Sunday morning and we're getting ready for worship. Its pretty wild here. Friday evening there were 10 people sleeping all over the house. Jeremy was on the POOL TABLE!! Danny Adams is staying here and Paul Blimling is coming tommorrow. They are putting on the concert with I Solistivivaldi. Then they will stay until Saturday when they leave for the Picoloc concert series. Danny is great to talk with and is wonderful to hear playing.

Gotta say, I really wish it was you I was hearing. I miss just talking about stuff around the kitchen table and talking about the Lord of the Rings. ( Just remembered that I promised to send you the DVD)

Jenn is coming to see you. SHe leaves for Japan on Tuesday and then is catching a flight to Korea. Phillip Kims parents will meet her and play host.

I love you. I pray for you constantly. Stay strong in this battle. Jean

Hey brother,

I was just remembering how that one time at Chazz's house you flipped Dre over. All of Chazz's friends after that were scared of you! No one would mess with you (even though I tried at times!) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you're a strong person, and I know that your love for music, food, movies, people, and life in general, is way too great to let anything stand in your way. Hang in there buddy; I love you more than you'll ever know. And judging from all these other messages, everyone else does too! Take care my man.

You are an amazing young talent, with a wise and kind soul that puts a smile on my face when I think about you.

Be strong and know that you are not only in my thoughts and prayers, but also everyone else who knows you. Wishing you a speedy recovery...Love, Lesli Carroll (Graham's aunt)

To Brad-- Thanks so much for setting this up and helping us to be informed. Mostly though, thanks for all you're doing for Jin Ho....
To Jin Ho-- HANG IN THERE! You need to know that we're all thinking about you everyday. Think positive thoughts, remember how much all of us here in Idyllwild care about you and love you. We'll be together again soon. I'll check back on this page often to see how you are doing.
