When seeking comfort from Scripture I don't think the first place you'd look is Lamentations. But I was reading a section yesterday and it really touched my heart. I pray that it will give you comfort, too! You know I'm praying!!!!!!!

I'm so glad things are stable! I know how you feel, trying to make the decision about how long to go. It is so hard. It seems like so many kids have these (because we all see each other on the web), it just seems like there should be a formula for the whole process. Thank you for sharing Carly's journey. What a beautiful family! My 8 year old son has NF II. We don't have a family history of it either. I'd never even heard of it when he was diagnosed two years ago. A cavernous sinus schwannoma (brain tumor) has taken the vision in his left eye. I feel helpless at times and like I'm just waiting for the next MRI to show a new tumor somewhere. But I am reminded to live and enjoy today with him and deal with the future as it comes. Medical science just doesn't seem to move fast enough! Praying for Carly and Parker's complete healing on earth!! Have a great weekend!

I'm glad to hear that the tumors are stable. Jenna just had an MRI this week and hers showed slight shrinkage. Of course, we're thrilled with this progress, but I feel the same as you sometimes. my daughter has nf1 too with a plexiforme neurofibroma in the skull base and some in the pelvis, last year she had surgery for a neuroblastoma in the right adrenal gland, doctors removed tumor and gland, my daughter is a honor student, member of the youth honor society, she is 13 years old and she is sufering the problem since she was born too. I know how you feel, I have days when for me is a terrible nightmare, seeing my daughter all the time dizzy, with nauseas, tired, but you know she is studying hard, she loves Jesus over all. I remember last year in the hospital she told me:mom be happy no matter what happen remember I am an excellent daughter, student you never know whem I am going to go with God. I pray all the time for her and for all the others I know our God is good and doctors they are going to find a cure, God bless your daughter and your family and specially you as a mother.

I just wanted to say I say carly's picture on the ctf website when I was looking up stuff on a paper I'm doing on NF, and I have to say she is the cutest little girl ever! I admire her strength through all this...when I was eight I had surgery to remove my optic nerve glioma in my right eye...I dont remeber much about it but I know it was hard on my family to see me in pain like that, I hope things are going well with her treatments my prayers are with your family and I hope everything turns out for the best.

when is Carly's birthday? Boy, you have a long drive to Children's. Especially if you hit traffic on the 15. I loved your comments about how you have slowed down at the hospital, good for you :) something my kids would do was, out in Carly's Butterfly garden, to put a coin in that "water" bird's mouth and then check to see if it was still there at the next appointment. Next week as everyone sits down at their Thanksgiving dinner, we will all in silence or aloud talk about what we are thankful for. For me, I am thanksful for a loving daughter and son-in-law and four beautiful and talented grandchildren. It is through God's grace that He has given us our blessings, each in a special way.
For me, I am blessed that you and I are "the birthday girls" and that we have a special bond. I am reaffirmed each day of your strength and courage - and your family's committment. I treasure your love and thank God that He brought you into our lives.
