St. Judes Childrens Research hospital, Oct. 2006~

"Child Of Joy"

Welcome to our new website
we're so glad that you are here
This page is all about Bobby
and the things that bring him cheer

Our Bobby is an all around boy
and some things that bring him joy
Are SpongeBob SquarePants, Carebears
and all of his Power Ranger toys

And the good ole boys from Toy Story
Buzz Lightyear, Woody and the rest
Bring a smile to Bobby everyday
these guys surely are the best

Our son has been given back to us
and we thank the Good Lord each day
For blessing us with this miracle
who can now run and jump and play

Prayers, yes they do get answered
so please keep praying for our boy
He's being cradled in the Arms of God
and is our blessed "child of joy"

WELCOME !
A BIT ABOUT BOBBY

Bobby, born 1/17/00, is in remission from EPENDYMOMA, a rare brain tumor/cancer that only about 5-10% of children can get of childrens brain tumors. Bobbys tumor was on the 4th ventricle in his head, the size of a golf ball. All was removed and he received 33 days of conformal radiation in winter '03 at St. Judes in Memphis, Tenn. Since then, Bobby has had a recurrance, (August 2004), he had cranial surgery and 6 weeks of spinal and whole head radiation. God is cradling my baby and giving him strength to be a child.
Thank-you for all the prayers....we love you all!

Bobby is home~~Ada, Oklahoma

Clinical Correlation

Ependymomas account for
approximately 6% of CNS tumors.
.They cause symptoms related to where they arise.
.For instance, tumors arising in the cerebellum will cause ataxia and headache as well as increased intracranial pressure from blockade of the fourth ventricle, whereas, if an ependymoma arises from the brainstem it may cause cranial nerve signs and pyramidal tract signs, as well as headache and increased intracranial pressure.
.More malignant varieties that metastasize to the CSF pathway may also cause nerve root signs.
.The recurrence rate is about 50% with relatively low 5 year survival rates particularly in very young children.

Hello everyone~

We are in Memphis and have been here since July 9th. We will be staying till the 14th. Bobby has had his MRI on Friday the 10th and Dr Merchant let me know the results right away. SCANS ARE CLEAN! Praise God and thank-you all for your prayers. I have all the kids with me on this trip, dont know when I will have them all together again, it was special for Bobby having his big brother here.

God bless and we will return in another 5-6 months.
