Hello! I hope everyone's had a nice weekend! Michael went to the MDA clinic Wednesday. It seems like lately, we go and dont even get anything accomplished.
We leave knowing everything that we went in knowing... I guess it will be that way until there is a treatment! His lung function numbers were down a little, They said it wasnt enought to worry about. His spine is still looking good. (slight 13 degree curve)
We took Michael and Hannah to see Superman today. They both enjoyed the movie. I have been saying some extra prayers for our sick friends! I hope you all feel better soon!!

Hello! Sorry for the late update. Michael and Hannah had a blast at the beach. We watched the fireworks over the fort in Old St Augustine. We took Michael fishing and he was the only one that caught anything! We also went on a ghost tour. That was real interesting!
I cant believe that school starts in just a few weeks! Michael will be starting 4th grade and Hannah will go to Kindergarten.
Michael has a MDA clinic appointment Wednesday. I will let you all know how that goes.

Hello! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer! The BBQ had a good turnout. About $5600 was raised for FSMA.
A carwash for SMA will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows on Saturday, the 24th.
Michael is having a good summer. He has been swimming alot and I took him fishing a couple of days ago. We are going to St Augustine next Saturday. We will be gone for a week. I hope everyone has a Happy 4th!! I will update with some pics from the beach when we get back! Marcy~

Hello! Michael had his Orthopedic appointemt today. His spine is at 13degrees. It is the same as this time last year! I am so glad that it hasnt gotten any worse. I will take him back in about 9 months.
He only has 2 more days of school.
Hannahs birthday is Thursday. We celebrated it this past Saturday. She got alot of stuff and even went to the BuildABear Workshop. She loved that!

I wanted to let you all know that we had another child to pass away from SMA. Amanda Stein was 7 years old. She was beautiful, brave and a fighter. This was the 3rd funeral I have been to within 5 months for SMA angels from Birmingham. I am scared. Please help pray that a treatment is found soon! Hello! I cant believe that Michael only has 4 days left of school! They had Field day at school today. Michael had a snowcone and lots of candy and games to play. On the last day of school the fire department will come and spray the kids with the firehose. I will have to wrap his chair up good with plastic! That should be fun for everyone.
Hannahs 5th birthday is Thursday. We are going to celebrate it tomorrow. She starts Kindergarten soon!
Michael has an appointment with his Orthopedic Wednesday. Please pray that his scoliosis hasnt gotten any worse.

Hello! I am so sorry I havent updated sooner. I had to get Michael early from school Friday. I took him to the doctor and he had strepthroat. He is doing 100etter now. He is on antibiotics.
Yesterday we (the Alabama Chapter of FSMA) had a yard sale and raised almost $1300! It was a great success. Ann Peterman did a fabulous job at organizing it. I still ask for your prayers for Ann and her family. I know how terribly she is missing Baylee. We are getting ready for our next fundraiser coming up on June 17. More info is posted above.
We are having a small fundraiser at Michaels school with the 3rd grade classes. They will be filling film canisters up with loose change. I am excited about that. I will let you all know how we do.

Hello! I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter! We just got through dying Easter eggs tonight. Michael had a nice birthday. As you all know he went bowling with a couple of friends last weekend. My mom was sick for his birthday so, we met her at Shoneys last night and had a little party there. He had a good time. He got his PSP and some games and a movie for it (fantastic4). He got a PS2 game. (Yes, He loves video games!)LOL He got a good bit of money too.
I also wanted to share that he got his report card 2 weeks ago.I know I am slow ;) He made the A honor roll again!! Yeah! I am so proud of him!!
Michael started running a fever tonight. His nose is clogged. He seems to feel okay. If you all could spare a few prayers we would greatly appreciate them!! It always seem to start like this, then he ends up in the hospital. I am hoping that it is just sinuses. The pollen is horrible down here!

Hello and Happy Friday to everyone! Michael got out of school at 1:00 today due to severe weather that we are suppose to have. Michael is home.They sent us home with Oxygen. His sats had been dropping at night. Last night he did have a good night. He is still congested. No fever, Yeah!! I just wanted to send a quick update on Michael. I came home to get a shower and wash a load of clothes. He is still at the hospital. He is still having heavy lung congestion. They did another chest Xray this morning and they said it was clear ,no pneumonia. He is just real junky. He is having to sleep on 2 liters of Oxygen at night. Without it his sats drop to the mid 80's. I may get to bring him home tomorrow, it not maybe Tuesday. They will be sending us home with Oxygen. He is getting his chest pt, coughassist and albuteral treatments every 4 hours.

I am taking Michael to his pulmonary doctor. He ran a fever of 104.9 lastnight. It took me a while to get it down. He is very congested. I will update when I can. Michael came home early from school yesterday coughing. I took him to the doctor. They said it was post nasal drip. He woke up this morning with 102.5 fever and coughing. I will be taking him back to the doctor this afternoon. His O2 is doing good at 97-98. If anyone could spare a few prayers that nothing serious is brewing, we would greatly appreciate them! Hello! I am sorry it has been a while since my last update. Michael is doing good. Thanks to SMA support we will be getting a pulse oximeter for Michael. We will use this until we get approved with insurance. (No telling when that will be)
Michael has a dentist appointment today. Hannah has iceskating lessons today too. She is loving it! I am so glad Spring is right around the corner! Hopefully all the kiddos will get well and stay well for a while! In 2 weeks Michael will be out for Spring Break. He cant wait!

Hello and Happy Valentines Day to everyone!!! I know alot of you got some heavy snow over the weekend! I am so jealous! We had a little snowshower Saturday night. Michaes doctor appointment went well yesterday. His weight is up from 39lbs to 42lbs. We were glad to finally see him gaining a little weight. His pulmonary function test was better this time than it was 6 months ago! Yeah!
He did put in a Rx for the pulse oximeter. He thinks it will be a battle with insurance. I did give them a letter of necessity to file with it.

Hello. Michael got his report card yesterday and he made the A Honor roll! I am so proud of him. He works so hard.
He did go to physical therapy Monday. There isnt really much to share with that. She showed us some new stretches. He has some major tightness in his hips and hamstrings.
Michael does go to the MDA clinic to see all of his doctors next Wednesday. I am once again going to attempt to get a pulse Ox. I will let you all know how everything goes. My prayers are still going out to all the sick kiddos. I sure hope everyone feels better soon. ((hugs)) Marcy :)

Hello! Happy New Year!!! We had a good Christmas. Michaels favorite things that he got was his Nintendo DS and Playstation games. Hannah's favorite is her Dora tent and Furby. We shot off some fireworks on New Years Eve. School starts back Thursday. I have heard that the flu is here and hitting people hard. I hope and pray Michaels flu shot works this year. I am praying for all the children in our SMA family and those that we have met through Caringbridge. Michael goes to see his Physical therapist next week. Hello! Michael is out of school for Christmas. He is so excited! Friday we will have Christmas at my dads, Saturday we will be at my mother-n-laws and Sunday afternoon we will go to my moms. We all have a busy couple of days.

Hello. Michael had a busy weekend. They went on 3 hunts. He really enjoyed it. This was his first time. He is ready to do it again. Unfortunately they didnt see any deer while hunting. But, We did see some at the camp.(He got to see a big buck run through the camp with some doe's)
We got to enjoy a campfire and have some smores. Hannah and Michael both loved that.I am posting pictures in his photo album so be sure and check them out.

I found out some very sad news yesterday, we lost another child to SMA. Little Morgan was only 3 years old with SMA type 2. I'm not sure what happened. SMA can take our children at anytime. I have come to know others and build friendships. It hurts and it makes me angry. When is it going to end!? Please, say a prayer for Morgan's mom and the rest of the family. Hello! Michael is going to go hunting for the first time ever. We are going Dec.2-4. We will be staying at Camp Ascca,AL. He is soo excited! I hope he and his daddy get a big buck! He cant wait!

Hello! Last weekend we took Michael to watch Team Impact at church. He loved it. He was amazed at all the things they could do and how strong they were. I have a picture of him with one of the guys in the photo album.
I took Michael and Hannah to get there flu shots yesterday. Oh, Michael got his reportcard last week. He made straight A's!! I am so proud of him!

Hello! This has been a busy couple of weeks! Michael caught a stomach virus two weekends ago. He ended up in the emergency room. He did get over that quickly.
He woke up yesterday with a fever and stuffy nose. He did go back to school today and seems to be feeling better.
We had our walk on Saturday. I want to say congratulations to Amy Smith. She did a wonderful job! With our online donations with Team Sawyer, Team Baylee, and Michael. Plus, the money raised that day.(Michael sold some SMA t-shirts in the mall, he stopped people right in there tracks! It was real cute!) We raised over $8500 for SMA!! Yeah!!! Thank you to everyone that donated or helped!!! You help to get us closer to a cure!

Hello everyone! Michael is doing well. I am posting to remind you all that the Walk and ROll is next weekend, October 8th! Again, any amount you can spare on the Sponsorship page will help! I was just informed that we lost another baby to SMA on September 19th from the Birmingham area. His parents will be at the walk in memory of there son. Please say a prayer for this family, they will certainly be in mine. It breaks my heart when I hear this news.
Researchers are so close to finding a treatment and possibly a cure. They are lacking the funding.

Hello. Michaels orthopedic appt. went well yesterday. His spine is still at a 15-16 degree curve. This is the same as it was last year. His hip is still the same. I will take him back in May to get rechecked. If it gets any worse Michael will have to wear a brace at night to try and avoid surgery. I am so glad that it has not gotten worse! :)

Hello! Michael had a good time in Tennessee over the Labor Day weekend. We went with Michaels nanny and pawpaw Marsh. We went to the Ripleys Aquarium, Ripleys Believe It or Not and drove through Cades Cove. He got to see a few deer. We also played some putt-putt and drove go-carts.
I wanted to share with everyone that Michael got voted on the student council at his school. He was so proud! I am very proud of him!

Hello, Our power has been out all week. It finally came on last night. If anyone of you has emailed me, this is why I havent responded. Some emails I have not received, my inbox was full. My prayers go out to all the hurricane victims. I hope and am praying that our SMA families that live in Louisiana and Mississippi are okay.
We are leaving for Gatlinburg tonight. Michael is excited. He has been wanting to see the Ripleys Museum and aquarium. We will only be gone a couple of days.

Hello! I wanted to let everyone know that Michael is having a good time at school. He says he has to work a little harder. They will start learning to write cursive next week.
Michael lost another tooth today. We'll have to see how much money the toothfairy brings him! ;)
We will be going to Gatlinburg for Labor Day weekend with Michaels nanny and pawpaw. I will be taking Michael to his Orthopedic doctor on September 7th. He will check his spine and hips. I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

I have been meaning to update. Things have been busy. School starts in a little over a week. Michael had his MDA appointment and he did well with his respiratory tests. His numbers were down slightly, but the pulmonary doctor says it is ok. His back is showing a little sign of scoliosis. He is due to go back to the Orthopedic in September and Ill see what we can do to prevent any progression. (It will probly involve a back brace, not sure though) Some good news. This isnt set in stone, but his doctor told me they are trying to get UAB and Childrens Hospital in Birmingham for one of the neuromuscular research centers. Spinal Muscular Atrophy will be top priority. Also, this will open the door for clinical trials. I hope all this goes as planned it sounds really exciting!
One more thing. Michaels orthodontist wants to put a device in the roof of his mouth that attaches to the back teeth. It is called a Rapid Palatal Expander. It is suppose to correct his crossbite and underbite. If anyone is familiar with this, can you email me? He is suppose to wear some type of headgear with this at night. Problem is, he wears the bipap at night. I am not sending him to school with headgear on. He gets enough looks just being in the wheelchair. If anyone knows about this, please let me know. Thanks!

Hello! We are back from St Augustine. We all had a good time. We went to Ripleys Believe it or not and the Alligator farm. Michael and Hannah loved feeding the alligators. I wanted to let everyone know, the family that organized the fundraiser at the Zamora Temple last weekend, raised around $5000 for SMA! Way to Go! With everyones help we can beat this disease. They have come a long way within a few years.

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well and keeping cool. It has been hot here all week. We can't wait until we go to Florida! Saturday we are going to a local fundraiser for SMA. They will have plate lunches, clowns, face paintings, and other things.(If you are around Birmingham, come join us at the Zamora Temple) I am hoping to meet the person that has helped to organize this. At least maybe she could be part of our Walk for SMA coming up in October.
I am so glad more people are getting involved in helping to fight this devastating disease. As posted above, I will have an online registration site if you want to Walk or just make a donation for the Walk & Roll. This year we will have media coverage. We are all really excited!
Now an update on Michael,, he is keeping busy with his video games and swimming. He has been doing really well. He is just counting down the days to vacation.

Hello. Michael had a fun weekend. Saturday we went to an event called Dreams on Wings. We would have gotten to fly in a airplane, but we chose not too. We are all scared to fly.(Maybe next time) ;) He did get to sit in a firetruck and he rode in a Hummer Limo. They took him riding around the army base. He really enjoyed that. Hello! We have had a tiring weekend. Hannah came down with a stomach virus late Saturday night. Michael got sick last night. Thank goodness it didn't hit him like it did his sister. We always have to take him for IV fluids when he starts throwing up. Thank God this was not one of those times. He only got sick one time. He stayed home today from school. (which he enjoyed) ;)

I guess it is about time for an update! :) Michael has done good this Winter! First season without going to the hospital. Yeah! I really think him using the Bipap at night has helped with the respiratory infections. Anyway, Michael will be turning 8 on the 11th! He is growing to fast. He will be having a couple of friends from school to go bowling with him. He can't wait!

Hello. Michael and Hannah went to the dentist yesterday. No cavities! Yeah! Michaels dentist wants me to take him to an Orthodontist. He is developing an under bite, they believe is due to the pressure of the Bipap mask. I will be taking him in a few weeks.

Hello! Not much has been going on here, but I thought it was about time to update. We took Michael and Hannah to look at a puppy yesterday. We will be going to pick her up Thursday. Michael is excited. We have a boy Dachsund ,Max, and now he will have a friend. We are hoping to breed them.

Hello.. Michaels doctors appointment went well. He did well with the pulmonary functions test. The doctor was impressed. Yeah! The Dr. gave Michael a new Bipap mask. This one has nasal pillows that fit right inside the nose. The other mask applied alot of pressure around his upper lip and all around his nose.
Michael and Hannah went swimmming on Thursday. He wore the waist belt again and did some walking in the pool and even a little bit of swimming where he couldn't touch. He works so hard. I am going to try to remember to take a picture of him in the pool and post it.

Hello! I hope everyones week is starting out well. Michael is doing good. School started back last Wednesday. He is doing really good in school too. He will have an appointment to the MDA clinic next Wednesday on the 19th. He will see his pulmonary dr., rehab. dr, and neurologist.
I will let you all know how that goes. Michael is doing really well with his swimming once a week. He is able to move independently while wearing his life belt, around his waist. He really enjoys it. Hello. I am so sorry for not updating sooner. Hannah is finally well and Michael is doing good. He is at school today. Today is there Santa shop day at school. He wants to buy Hannah something nice. Yesterday Michael and Hannah went swimming. Michael walked in the water for the first time! He had a swim belt around his waist but, he was moving around all by himself. He was very proud! He looked so big.

Hello! We all had a wonderful time in Disney World. I had to take Hannah to the doctor one of those days for a ear infection. But, she was ready to go that next day. God looked after Michael. I was sick when we went down and was afraid Michael would catch it but, he did not. He had a blast! He saw a bunch of Disney characters. I can't name them all! He got to ride just about everything. We went to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Sea World. Mayor Clayton (a rabbit at Give Kids the World where we stayed) came and tucked them in to bed two different nights. They loved it! I am going to pick up our pictures this afternoon and I will put some on his website. So, please check back. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving... Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Hello! I hope everyone is having a nice day! As I said at the top of the page. We raised over $5,000 with the Walk and Roll!! We had a good turnout! Those locally that didn't attend, I hope to see you next year! ;)
Michael had a busy weekend. After we had the walk, we took him by the Fall Festival at his school ,then that night we went trick or treating. Sunday night I took him to a church that had a carnival. Hannah and Michael now have enough candy to last a year!
I have posted pictures of the walk and of Michael dressed up for Halloween. So, Please check out his photo album. We will be leaving for Disney World November 17-22. I can't wait to see Michael and Hannahs face when we get there! We have never been. The MakeAWish Foundation will be providing us with a rental van to drive. It will have a wheelchair lift. Hello. This weekend is Halloween! I hope everyone has a nice weekend and stays safe. Michael is going to be a vampire, and Hannah will be a unicorn. Saturday is our Walk and Roll for SMA. Hello! I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Michael and Hannah got there flu shots last week. (It was a major pain in the butt for the pediatrian to give them, as if Michael isn't at high risk!) Anyway, they did get them. Michael received a little card from Give Kids the World, in Disney World.(thats where we'll be staying) We leave on Nov. 17-21. That has really gotten him excited!!

Hello everyone. Michael had a busy day today. He went to Desoto Caverns on a school fieldtrip. He had a really good time. The MakeAwish foundation has scheduled Michaels trip to Disney World for the middle of November. He is very excited about that! They will be calling me soon with all the details. Tomorrow is his last day of school. He will be out next week for Fall break. (I wish I had that when I was in school) LOL

Michael was on the Rick and Bubba Show on Tuesday.(Radio and tv talk show) Rick and Bubba announced our event on the air. They were all very nice! I will have pictures in his album of that soon. Good News, Michael went to the orthopedic yesterday and everything looks good. His back is showing a very small curve. The doctor said it is of no concern right now. His hip has not slipped out any further. I take him back in a year.
As for the MDA clinic visit last week. Everything looked good there too. They were all impressed at how good Michael is doing. YEAH! We are to go back in 3 months. (Other than getting his flu shot)
I may be offline for a few days from Ivan coming up through Alabama. Our power goes out really easy. I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and weekend. I will update next week. God Bless you all!!

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well! We have a couple of friends that live in Florida. One of them is on our friends list. Please, keep them in your prayers. They have enough to deal with without these hurricanes, one after another. Enough is enough. You are in our prayers Shaylene!
Michael has been doing well. He did go to physical therapy last week. She thinks that his hip has slipped further out of socket. He has become much tighter as well. I will be taking Michael to the Orthopedic Tuesday. He will do an Xray and see if anything needs to be done at this time. He is not having pain with it so, he probly will want to just wait and watch. Michael has an appointment tomorrow with the MDA clinic. He will see all his doctors. (pulmonary, neurologist, & rehab) I may know something tomorrow. He will have his breathing tests and they will be checking for scoliosis too. (I think he is fairly straight) I guess that is it for now. Oh, Michael went to the dentist last week and NO cavities!

Hello! This week is almost over! Yeah! Michael has been doing really well at school. He and Hannah went to swimming lessons yesterday. He was able to hold on to one of those noodles and kick his legs a little! (with noone holding him) That was a big step.

Michael returned to school last week and he had a good time. Some of his classmates that were with him in preschool are with him this year. So, he is happy about that.

Hi! I hope everyone is doing well! Michael goes back to school on Thursday. We have orientation Tuesday. He has been doing really well this summer. We are going out today and finish getting a few things for his school. Our local fire department is doing a bootdrive for MDA (Muscular Dystrophy) and Michael is going to take them some cookies. They are at Walmart. He always likes talking with them.
I almost forgot, yesterday Michaels daddy and I took him to a paralympic celebration and he met a few of the athletes and he got to try out a few things as well as watch. He really enjoyed his day. I will let you all know how Michaels first day of school goes. You all take care and God Bless!

Good evening! Hannah woke up this morning with a fever and vomiting. I took her to the doctor and she has strepthroat.
They gave her a shot of antibiotics. Michael is still coughing and congested. He is still running a low-grade fever.But, He seems to feel a little better today. :) The doctor gave Michael more antibiotics for 3 more days being as Hannah has the strep. I am hoping they both get well by the time we leave Saturday morning for Florida. Thank you all for your prayers! Have a Happy 4th of July!

Good Evening everyone! I took Michael to the doctor today. They think he has bronchitis. He has been running a temp. The highest it has been is 101.7 He has started on Zithromax. We are doing his nebulizer and In/Ex (cough assist) every 4 hours. We need you prayers please! No hospital stays this time! Please pray that he gets over this quickly. Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a nice summer! Michael went to the pulmonary doctor last week. Michael did some lung function tests. Everything looks good! Yeah! His sleep study was fine, everything looked good there. They thought we might need to adjust his settings on his Bi-pap, but everything is where it needs to be.
We will be going out of town, the week of the 4th of July. We will be going to St. Augustine, Florida. I will probly update when we get back. I will take lots of pictures to share. :) Michael is excited! He loves going to the beach.

Hello everyone! I am so sorry that I havent updated Michaels journal. He is doing really good. He attends a swimming class twice a week. He does really well with moving his arms and legs in the water.
Michael has an appointment with his pulmonary doctor on June 17th. That is when we will get the results of his sleepstudy that was done a month ago.
He will also be getting a new Bipap machine in about a week. It is suppose to be alot quieter.(that will be nice)
I guess that is it for now... I will update after his doctors appt. unless something occurs before then. God Bless!!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a good week!I have really been impressed with Michaels health this Spring. He has been well!! Thank you, God! Michael went on a fieldtrip today. They went to The Children's Hands on Museum. He had a really good time. He only has 4 more days of school before summer! Hannah is going to be turning 3 next Tuesday. Hello everyone!! Michael had a really nice birthday last weekend. He was healthy and got everything he wanted. LOL
He had a nice time bowling. He did really well! I came in last... HA! The Make A Wish vounteer did come last Monday. Michael wished for Disney World. We are shooting for this Fall. The summer is just to HOT.
Oh, Michael finally has a electric bed that he can operate. So, he can sit up when he wants to!I got him Yu-gi-oh sheets and comforter for it. He loves it! Thanks to my mom and stepdad!! They bought the bed for him.

Hello everyone! This is Michaels last day of Springbreak. I think he's had a nice week. He has gone to the lake twice. He rode in a paddle boat and went fishing. He had a really good time. I did take pictures and I will post those soon!
I have yet to hear from the people from the Make a Wish Foundation. They were suppose to have called and came Thursday. No one called or showed up. When ever they decide to come by, I will let everyone know how it went.

It has been a fairly busy week for Michael. He went for the CT scan Tuesday. He did really well. Yesterday he went swimming and today he went horseback riding. He has one more day of school and then he will be out for Spring Break. We are just going to stay home. Hannah is over the Croup. So far Michael has not come down with it. Also, the Make A Wish Foundation finally called and they will be out next Thursday to get Michaels wish. He is excited. He is still wanting to go to Disney World or have a ToysRUs shopping spree. We will see.....

Hi everyone. I figure it is about time I update Michaels page. Michael went to the MDA clinic yesterday. He had a fairly good review. He did some pulmonary function tests and they said they are really good right now. He was at 100n his 02 stats. I really think the Bipap is helping. He hasnt been at 100 in a long time. Michael has got to go in for a CT scan of his head next Tuesday. His pulmonary doctor wants to do this periodically because he said the mask from the Bipap can push on Michaels facial bones and cause them not to grow right. His spine is still straight so, No scoliosis yet! yeah!
May I ask for prayers again... Hannah is sick. I have to take her to the doctor today. She has a fever and a bad cough with congestion. THis definately is not something Michael needs to catch. Hannah feels so bad! Poor baby!!

Hello everyone! I am glad to say that Michael is finally getting over his cold. He is still coughing a little, but his chest is sounding much better. I get so worried when he gets sick. We never know which cold is going to send him to the hospital. We always like prayers! Prayers are very strong, so please keep them coming.
I am not having any luck getting the Oximeter. Michaels doctor may need to write a letter of necessity. If I ever have luck I will let you all know. I am still open for suggestions with handling insurance companies.
Michael went horseback riding yesterday. He will continue to go every Thursday. He enjoyed it. I guess thats all for now. Dont forget to sign Michael's guest book. He likes to know who visits him!

Well,, I heard from Michaels nurse today and Medicaid is not going to cover the Pulse oximeter. I knew this was going to be a battle. Blue Cross will only cover a percentage. UUGH! I am going to make some calls myself, tomorrow. Any advice???

We just got back from the doctor. Michael has some kind of virus and a ear infection. We started his antibiotics this evening. His oxygen was 95. The home healthcare place that we use is suppose to call me tomorrow and possibly bring out the oximeter. The doctor did write a prescription for it. Lets hope the insurance will do there part! Well,, Michael is sick. Im not sure what he has. He is coughing and congested. We are doing all his treatments every 4 hours. The good thing is, the highest his temp. has been is 100. We are hoping this will be a little cold that will pass quickly. Spring is right around the corner!!
I thought I might share too, Michael will be 7 years old in April. His birthday falls on Easter this year! I thought that was really cool.

Happy Friday everyone!Michaels had a good week. We may need prayers,, I picked Michael up from school today and he was coughing. It sounds like there may be a little congestion with it. He is taking a nap right now. When he gets up I am going to start doing his chest pt and In/ex to be on the safe side. (Please let's PRAY)
The drop down menu of our friends isnt working, I am trying to figure out what the problem is. Please check back so you can give them a visit. :)

We are finally home from Michaels pulmonary doctor appt. Michaels O2 sats were 97. He thought Michael was doing real well. I talked to him about the oximeter and he said he would put an order in on it, but he doubted insurance would cover it. We both decided that the next time Michael goes to him with a cold or any congestion, he would get the oximeter then. He said then there would be more of a reason for it. He would like for him to be hooked to one whenever he is sick. So, it is good that he has agreed with me. Michael has to have another sleepstudy in June. His past sleepstudy showed some mild apnea and low O2 levels at times. We got a new mask for the bipap while we were there. Michael is fine with the one we have, but this new one isnt suppose to have any bad pressure points. Maybe this one will be more comfortable.
Guess that is all for today. Tomorrow is Friday! Just incase I dont post over the weekend,,, You all have a safe and nice weekend! God bless!!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice long weekend. We didnt do much. I took Michael to get his haircut yesterday. I am going today and take my film to get developed of his play. Look for those pictures this week!
Michael goes to the Pulmonary doctor this Thursday. I am going to ask about the pulse oximeter while we are there. ( I know he needs one so, I am going to try to convince the doctor) I will have a new post about that when we get back.
He is doing alot better with the Bipap. Most nights he goes all night with it on. So, this is a big improvement, as far as that goes.

Hello everyone. Hannah and I are getting ready to go to Michaels Valentine party at his school. I hope everyone has a HAPPY Valentines!! Someone asked me about Michaels pictures from his play and I have not got them developed yet so, check back. I am slow at doing things. LOL
We are still waiting to hear from the MakeAWish Foundation. Michael has decided that he wants to go to Disney World. When they come I will let you all know about that. There really isnt much to talk about. (This is good)
I still ask you all to pray for a friend of ours named Craig. He should be starting his Chemo today. I know yesterday he wasnt feeling well. I am waiting to hear from his mom. Michael is at school today. They will be having a Valentines Party tomorrow. He is excited about that. Hannah has finally gotten over her cold. I cant wait for Spring! I forgot to mention that Michael had a dental appointment last week and No cavities! Yeah!
Michael's appointment with his Pulmonary doctor has changed for February 19.
The MakeAWish Foundation will be coming out within 2 weeks to talk to Michael. He is deciding what he wants to wish for.I will let everyone know, Last but not least, One of our new friends named Craig is suppose to start Chemo this Friday. Please say a prayer for him. Well,, we've had an exciting morning. I was taking Michael to school and someone slammed into the back of us. I have a good bit of damage in the back. Michael is home. He has a doctors appointment this afternoon. When we got hit, his wheelchair fell against his foot. (300lbs) I think it is just spranged, but I want to be sure. I will post later and let everyone know.
For those that have chairs,,, Tie them down!!!

It is Friday afternoon, They took an X-ray and Michael just has a little sprang. While we were there I got a humidifier ordered for Michaels Bipap. Now maybe he will sleep better and not get so dry through the night!

Michael has gone to school today. He is feeling pretty good. He is still trying to get use to the Bipap. He didnt want to wear it last night. He had a nice long weekend, playing video games. He will have a follow up appointment soon from when he was in the hospital. I will post again after that doctors appointment.

Michael had a recent hospital stay with the flu. While he was in the hospital he had a sleep study. Michael is now on Bipap at night. He is adjusting. He went back to school last week and is back on track.
We have a long weekend, school is closed Monday. Michael is glad! He is doing good today.
