This page was created to keep friends and family updated during Lindsey's treatment for Fanconi Anemia.

Lindsey is a wonderful little girl who loves horseback riding, doing cheernastics, playing Littlest Pet Shop, Pooh, Disney Princesses and Fairies, books (favorites: Nancy Drew mysteries and any horse or other animal stories) - and all things pink! Lindsey was born June 1, 1999 and has a rare genetic condition called Fanconi Anemia (FA), which is a deadly inherited anemia that ultimately leads to bone marrow failure.

Each day with Lindsey is a blessing.

Please visit www.fanconi.org to learn more about this rare condition.

Please visit www.marrow.org to learn more about the National Bone Marrow registry.

Thank you for visiting our site. Please remember to pray for Lindsey and all FA kids and adults

Thank you.

I realize it has been a long while since I have updated Lindsey's page. Everything has been going very well for her and we have been quite busy. Lindsey finished 5th grade a couple weeks ago. Next year is middle school! She did very well on her last report card - making straight A's. I am amazed at how well Lindsey did academically and socially this year since I had to home school her for 4th grade to keep her safe post-transplant. Lindsey received teh Presidential Academic Achievement award and she is very proud about how well she did in school this year. Lindsey hosted her first sleepover with 4 of her classmates joining her for a fun and sleepless night. She and her friends had a great time and all the girls got along very well. It is so wonderful to see Lindsey enjoying all the regular things in life. Tomorrow is Lindsey's 11th birthday! I am so excited for her. She keeps reminding me that she is now a tween. I feel so blessed to have Lindsey with me today. I will always remember how difficult times were for her during transplant and how hard she worked to get strong again. There are certain days when the weight of what a diagnosis of FA really means to Lindsey hits me kind of hard. I still worry about her future, but am careful to not let my worry cloud the times we spend having fun. I am thankful for answered prayers and the dedication of the staff at University of MN hospital.
Lindsey participated in the local zoo's Zookeeper for a Day program and was able to spend the day with a zookeeper. She said it was the "best day ever"! Lindsey and I have a trip to Florida planed for later in June, so it should be a good summer.
Thank you for checking on Lindsey.

Victoria - Lindsey's thankful mom
