On Friday September 13th, Maggie, Ziad and Maggie’s sister (Mary) were traveling from their home in Tampa to Orlando to pick up Mary from the airport. They were stopped on Highway 4 at exit 78 with car troubles. While they were waiting for assistance they were hit by a drunk driver.

Maggie has a traumatic spinal cord injury: multiple vertebral fractures C6,7 and T1,2,3. She's undergone surgery and is out of the ICU, but the road to recovery will be long. After the hospital Maggie will need rehabilitation, inpatient first then outpatient.

Ziad has lumbar spine fractures and extensive bruising. He was also found to have a large aneurysm that will need further evaluation and treatment. He's pursuing treatment now but the long term plan is still unknown.

Mary suffered severe injuries to her leg and is undergoing her third surgery today.

While our family is working together to overcome these challenges, any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
