We are Schlegel's neighbors on Green Lake, and grew to love Zach as he spent time with them. He was a gentle, kind, Godly, humble young man. His smile reflects his character. We were blessed to be "handy" when he and Nicole were engaged...a special time. We continue in prayer for you all. Mike and Bernie Plinske

Jim & family, I am so sorry to hear about Zach's passing but we know he is now pain free and living an amazing life with our Lord up above. You will all see him again one day and he will be there welcoming you thru the gates of heaven with a big smile and a big hug. May you all have strength and peace in the days to come. Love & prayers, Stacey Draeger.

I'm so sorry for the pain your hearts are feeling. You don't know me, but I've met Jim once at the farm I work at down the road from where Jim works. Zach's story caught my attention the most since he had a sarcoma and had been treated at Mayo. My husband had a different rare sarcoma, and was also treated at Mayo. He lost his battle in October. My heart goes out to your whole family. Although we can be relieved they no longer struggle, the hole in our heart still remains. Praying for you as you move into a new season of life. Thankful we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again. May God provide everything you need. God Bless!

We’ll never forget Zach and his determination to drive all the way from college to attend the Cancer Survivor Celebration. He spoke of great “hope” that night & celebrated it! He never faltered because his hope wasn’t in a cure or a miracle, his hope was in his Lord & Savior. We’re just so sorry for all of you who sat at his table that night. We will pray for your broken hearts. Please know that all of us in the room were touched by the outpouring of love & support you showed to Zach. Special hugs to you, Nicole, Zach’s beautiful wife & soulmate. God bless...
