Journal entry by BARBARA KROLICK —
Zach did well at home recuperating for the first week. VNA comes to the house a few times per week which is very reassuring. Lauren was able to work from home and watch over him. Had a little scare last Sunday with a temp of 102.5 and some cramping, but got back to the hospital and had a procedure done which allowed the fluid to from the pouch before it got infected. Apparently this is normal for this type of surgery; healing occurs with some ups and downs. He came back home via an Uber on Thursday and is now taking good care of himself; hopefully they can come to our house for Thanksgiving. He goes back on Monday and Tuesday for some more tests and appointments. Lauren needs to show up at the office on Monday, so trying to come up with a plan for him to get there.
The GREAT news is that the pathology results showed no further traces of cancer! We have much to be thankful for!
