That quote from your beloved book is so powerful and convicting. You quoted from Green Leaf in Drought Time, that “ not to receive it joyfully is to deny the Lord before men.’ I’m assuming the “it” is anything the Lord puts us through, no matter how hard it is.
I think of you, telling us how your body is worn out and yet you still take the time to encourage us and give the evidence that He is faithful, because no matter what, He still has given you the confidence that He will never leave you or forsake you. There is just nothing else, is there? Hallelujah!!!
I’m praying that this next trip to MDA will be a blessing for you and your family, and that your light will continue to shine brightly! Love you dearly 🥰.

Great thoughts and it's amazing how many thousands of people have been reached with the gospel over the last 5+ years that never would have but for this challenging situation. All things aren't good... cancer is never good... but God can work all things, even the horrible things for good to glorify himself and to bring people to him.

The number of visits to your Caring Bridge is staggering, even though of course it is not about numbers. Isn’t the Lord so good to provide such a “sideways” way to use your gift of encouragement! That blesses me deep in my bones. And, even when you physically felt that you had ‘nothing to give” ….. in fact, your little light was shining unbeknownst to you. I love your sharing, “What would be pleasing in these circumstances?”. In fact, I copied, pasted and saved for future wisdom that I will need when it is my turn to suffer. That is a great question because it should help lower my expectations and frustrations when I am unable to do all that I enjoyed doing in the past. I have surely seen you grieve this reality in your own journey while also looking for the answer to the question turned around, “BUT, what can I do?” You are a stellar example to me, and I appreciate all that I have learned watching you and listening to you and visiting Caring Bridge all these years. Love you.

Obviously God gave you this time to prepare yourself and (40,000+) others, your precious family and many friends, for what is an inevitable path for us all. You definitely have the gift of encouragement. I know you must be tired. You put your footprint in the sand, but your words will remain a source of strength for thousands. I love you.

You are such an inspiration. As I sit here having a pity party about circumstances that are out of my control. I read this, I have always enjoyed reading what you write & especially your testimony and encouraging words that you share with others.
You & Doc are often in my thoughts. Prayers for you to continue the good fight & know that you are a blessing to many! ❤️

Dear Sis, your quotes were a needed encouragement to press on and press into the Lord.

“Not to receive it joyfully is to deny the Lord before men. The Son had left heaven, not just submitting to the will of God, but delighting in it.”

“Andrew Murrey says, ‘I am here by God's appointment in His keeping under His training for His time.’"

Thank you for sharing them!
