Journal entry by Yvonne Brewster —
I'm very confused tonight. I went through hives and asthma problems this week which caused me to stop medication and radiation for 4 days. Also had issues with a nurse that I finally got brave enough to speak to the doctor about. He said I could stop in an talk with him more about it and he would speak with her. However the nurse called me Thursday morning and asked where I was and what's going on. So I presume he didn't speak with her about my concerns; so I didn't stop in to talk to him more. This whole cancer thing started with a lump I found and told it's nothing. Then tests done and yes it's cancer. Then a bilateral mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes that showed more cancer cells. More tests, radiation treatments and 5 years on chemo medication. Now they tell me it's nothing to worry about and I should be fine. I don't understand how I can be sure of anything anymore. What would you do ?
