Journal entry by Jamie Wulf

Day 51. November 20th, 2018. The day we made it home to our fur babies to start our journey as a family of four. The best day ever. The last 51 days that Wyatt has been in the hospital have been hard, exhausting, emotional, amazing, challenging, and most of all rewarding. He has come a very long way since he was born. At times I didn’t know if we would be making it home anytime soon or if at all. So with 51 days of being at children’s mercy I consider ourselves extremely blessed. Some families are there much longer and some families don’t get the opportunity to bring their babies home. Unfortunately we have seen both situations play out in front of us. My heart absolutely breaks for all the families that never get that opportunity or are spending yet another holiday at the hospital. I count our blessings ever single day. Our days ahead will be challenging adjusting to being home and figuring out a normal routine with both boys but I can say Nate and I are so looking forward to it. We anticipate many follow up appointments with Wyatt in Kansas City. With it being winter you can expect us to be hiding out and not exposing Wyatt to much of anything as it is far to risky to expose him. We want to thank both of our families for everything they have done for us during our pregnancy and once Wyatt was born. I can honestly say we couldn’t of done it without all of their support. I am so thankful that we have the most amazing and supportive families. We sure are blessed. Now to enjoy our first Thanksgiving home as a family of four!
