Will’s Story

Site created on September 14, 2021

On 11 September, Will was in Colorado for his annual ride with his son Ethan, his brothers and nephews. He was living his absolute best life on his bike leading the pack as usual. Nobody truly knows what caused him to drift off the highway and lose control. His family was directly behind him along with an EMT and nurse who they say came out of nowhere.

After a short stay in a small hospital, he was life flighted to a level 1 trauma hospital in Denver. St. Anthony hospital is the absolute best place for Will to be and their neurology services are the best. He has unfortunately been diagnosed with Diffuse Axonal Injury so essentially has a significant traumatic brain injury. He also has secondary trauma to his foot and ribs.

A brain injury is extremely complicated so there is a lot of monitoring and excruciatingly long waits to let his brain rest so the team can begin to get a sense for his true status. We know people want definitive updates; however they simply do not exist.

Cami, Ethan, Calli, Mariah and Tommi, along with all Wills entire extended family and friends are all very appreciative of your kind words, prayers and an astounding number of offers to help support his wife and children.

I created this for Will's family but want to share it with all who would like to view it.  It is a long one since he had so many people in his life.  If you cannot view it, please reach out to Denise.C.Roach@icloud.com OR text me if you have my number.
