Bill’s Story

Site created on August 4, 2021

Bill has been diagnosed with colon cancer. He was rapidly losing a lot of weight so he went to the doctor. After many scans and a biopsy he has been diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer, Adenocarcinoma, with metastasis to the liver and adrenal gland.

Obviously, this is devastating news for us and all
our family and friends. We want to keep family and friends updated in one place. Callie and Holly will keep everyone updated on this site.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Since this is overwhelming right now, Bill prefers if you comment on this site or text him to leave him encouragement or support instead of calling him.

We are ready to be strong and help Bill win the fight against this cancer.

Thank you for your love, prayers and support.

Journal entry by Holly Howard

Sorry it’s been so long since we updated you all.

Bill hasn’t had any more bleeding from esophageal varices but he had them banded again and he’s on meds for portal hypertension(increased blood pressure in liver).

He had radiation on his hip mass and left adrenal mass. He tolerated that well. And has no more pain in his hip.

His liver had too many tumors for the radiation they were planning to do. So 2 weeks ago he resumed chemo. He will get chemo every 2 weeks for now.

He didn’t tolerate it well like he did the first two years. Lost a ton of weight and very exhausted. We are trying to find foods he can tolerate. And we have found a brand of nutrition shake he likes.

He usually has a basset or two snuggling him at all times and occasionally the cutest 8 month old happiest baldy.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for strength and restored nutrition.
