Kim, we think of Bill all the time, as he is an integral part of our own history on this earth. Most of our memories of Bill involve laughing without much exception. It’s not that Bill was so funny like a jokester but there always seemed to be shared situations that now bring about a good laugh. Just a couple of examples ……moving a washer or dryer down our basement stairs for him to store and then months later trying to move it back out….the appliance didn’t do well. Also, Bill and Darrell deciding to go to Hocking Hills from Columbus, although neither had ever been there, so one following the other in cars as one suddenly exited and the other sped by……pre cell phones and GPS, some things the universe thankfully invented for two people desperately in need…..
We miss Bill too. One of the last times we saw him, we had a several hour long discussion about all the junk food we ate in Columbus. On and on, back and forth, we revisited all the old haunts and along the way, all the people we knew in Columbus. We had such a great visit. And we laughed and laughed. Bill remembered every single place and almost every person by name. Then he proudly told us that Alec and Matthew were both at Ohio State now and we knew it was his way to gain some inner peace about the boys because if they were at Ohio state they would be just fine and have all the great experiences we had had all those years ago.
Thanks to yours and Michele’s families Bill was sincerely loved and well cared for. We cannot say thank you enough to all of you .
Take care,
Beth ( and Darrell) Simone
