Journal entry by Jerelyn Clauser

Dad had his follow-up in Philadelphia to review the results of his bone marrow biopsy. Based on the preliminary results, there was major concern that the cancer blasts had increased and he was facing leukemia. After further review of the sample, doc is convinced that his bone marrow is extremely fibrous. While the blasts showed increased cancer presentation, the sample was inaccurately representative of his true numbers. Doc is confident that Dad is on a steady course with his treatment. They will continue to monitor his blood work on a weekly basis and will not be doing any further bone marrow biopsies as he just isnt a great candidate for them given his fibrous tissue. They really have not been successful in getting great samples and the procedures are just too invasive. He will continue his normal regimen of Jakafi.
All that said, it was GREAT news from his specialist and we were all relieved to hear the encouraging words from his specialist. She doesn't even want to see him until April! Woot woot!
Thank you for your continues prayers and support ❤
