Whitney’s Story

Site created on October 10, 2019

Whitney has been diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer. She has an incredible team of doctors who are working very hard to help her fight this battle. Whitney is grateful for Dr. Park down in Dallas, Texas, who has helped her start her fight against cancer holistically. He has helped her get her body and mind strong and ready to fight this battle. She will continue to combine Eastern and Western medicine to treat her cancer. She will have a radical hysterectomy on Monday, October 14th at Methodist hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Whitney has a strong faith, and it will continue to carry her and her family through this journey with optimism and peace

Whitney is an early education teacher with Lincoln Public Schools. She has not been able to teach this semester during this time. She has two children with her wonderful husband, Justin. Landon is 7 years old. He will be turning 8 this month. Harper is 5 years old and is in pre-school.

I have created this page to help keep Whitney's family and friends updated on Whitney's progress. Many wonderful people have asked how they can help. Due to Whitney’s strict diet restrictions (she’s following the Leaky Gut Diet), we will not be setting up a meal train. For those of you who have generously insisted on helping with meals, I recommend gift cards to Hyvee, Fresh Thyme,  Panera Bread, or Target. There is also a GoFund Me set up on this site to help with extra unexpected expenses. (This is located at the top menu under “ways to help.”)

Please help us storm the gates of heaven with prayers for complete healing for Whitney. Thank you for your love, support, good vibes, and prayers during this time!

Journal entry by Whitney Wiley

While I was in the hospital I received this beautiful shirt from a sweet girl I met at the cancer cancer. The girl was there with a group of her friends supporting their friend as she was receiving her last chemo treatment. The girls were all wearing matching shirts, had confetti and champagne. I videoed the girls as they surprised their friend. After my appointment the girls were still there and I started talking with them and told them about my diagnosis. One of the girls asked me for my address and a couple weeks ago I received this beautiful shirt in the mail.
It amazes me how God puts the right people in your path at the exact time you need them. I have strongly felt God’s love and guidance and through his guidance he has put many random strangers in my path that have helped encourage and support me on my journey.
Just to name a few... the lady at the zoo who told me about how she has experienced many miracles through the power of prayer, the lady at White House Black Market who listened to me talk all about my diagnosis while I was shopping and then sent me a sweet card in the mail a week later, the sweet lady at Whole Foods who cried with me, shared inspiring stories, told me she’d be praying for me and to visit her when I’m done with treatment.
These are just a few of the wonderfully encouraging people I’ve met in the last 3 months. I know each person I’ve met was purposely placed in my path by God as a reminder that he is with me and I’m not fighting this battle alone. God is good!
